(SIREN WAILING)

(HORN HONKS)

(KNOCKING ON DOOR)

- Who is it?
- FIREMAN: Fire department, ma'am.

- What's the problem, Officer?
- Is this your daughter, ma'am?

What did she do this time?

She called us with a report
of a cat up a tree.

We got here, and there was no cat.
We saw your daughter laughing,

and she told us what she did.

Get in the house right now, young lady!

- I'm sorry.
- It's all right this time.

Just see that she doesn't do it again.
If we'd had a fire...

It won't happen again, I can promise you.
And thank you for being so understanding.

Go to your room!

Your father will talk to you
when he gets home.

I can never have any fun.

Hey, you guys.
Guess where I just came from.

Where?

The old Palmer mansion
on the other side of town.

- So?
- You know the treasure

that old Mr. Palmer was supposed
to have hid somewhere in his house?

BOTH: Yeah?

- Well, I found it.
- Come on.

Everybody in town's
looked for that treasure.

It's true.

My dad was tearing up the street
out in front, for the city,

and he found an old tin box
with a map in it.

- Really?
- Where is this treasure?

It's hidden in one of the steps
of the staircase.

- I'm gonna go myself, after dinner.
- Do you wanna go see?

Sure.

JILL: No, wait.

(KNOCKING ON DOOR)

I've got something to say to you,
Jill Whelan.

Hi, Dad.

Jill, making a phony call
to the fire department

- is a very serious matter.
- I was just having fun.

It's not fun when you take firemen
away from their jobs.

You can just spend the rest of the evening
in your room.

See how much fun that is.

SHARE: Jill's father is right.

And he doesn't even know about
Charlie and Hal going to that old house.

It could be dangerous in there.

I think we're going to need
the Care Bear Cousins' help on this one.

Let's go.

Jill sent Charlie and Hal
to a run-down old house.

We'll be glad to help.

We'd better get those boys out of there.
Let's hurry.

(BIRDS SQUAWKING)

This is spooky. Let's go home.

What if there is a treasure? No way!

(CREAKING)

(OWL SHRIEKS)

- (STUTTERING) What was that?
- Just an owl, I think.

There's the stairs. Let's go look.

There's a loose piece of stair.

BOTH: Help!

(BOTH GRUNT)

(BOTH COUGHING)

Where are we?

I don't know, but I don't like it.
Let's get out of here!

There's a door up the stairs!

It's locked.

A window!

(GRUNTING)

It's got bars over it.

That's all right. Let's look for some rope.
We can climb out the way we came.

(RUMBLING)

It's locked!

We're trapped!

I can't have any fun.

Sure you can,
but not at the expense of others.

Who are you?

- We're the Care Bear Cousins.
- And we're the Care Bears.

- And we came to help you.
- How can you help me?

Your stories have gotten you
and your friends in trouble, Jill.

- But it's fun to have pretend adventures.
- Yes.

But Hal and Charlie might get hurt
because they believed you.

- What do you mean?
- Come with us and we'll show you.

(CREAKING)

It's just a squeaky board, Jill.

Boy, what a spooky place.

This reminds me
of Professor Coldheart's castle.

Not that it's as nice as this,
but at least you could see...

(METALLIC CRASHING)

- Share Bear?
- Share Bear?

SHARE: Hey, where did everyone go?

Wait, let me find her.

I seem to be in some kind of tunnel.

You've got a vase on your head,
Share Bear.

Help me pull.

Hey, what happened to Tenderheart Bear?

- I wonder where this goes.
- I hope it goes out.

This is real adventure, Jill,
helping your friends.

- Maybe we ought to go back.
- I don't think so.

Sometimes, the only way out
is right through to the end.

Now we've gotta find Tenderheart Bear
and Jill, as well as her friends.

We can do it faster if we divide up.

Share Bear, you and Loyal Heart Dog
check upstairs.

- Champ Bear and I will look on this floor.
- I'll look down in the basement.

(SHOUTING)

Jill! And...

I'm Tenderheart Bear,
and we're here to rescue you.

(CHUCKLING)
It looks like you'll need rescuing, yourself.

- I got you into this, I'm gonna get you out.
- Good for you. What do we do?

Maybe if we found out how they got
down there, we could get down there.

Good idea, Bright Heart Raccoon.

Got it.

Climb this way.

BRIGHT HEART:
This is where we lost them.

If Tenderheart Bear and Jill
bumped the panel like this,

then they got in like that.

CHARLIE: How much further? I'm tired.
HAL: Me, too.

It's no use. It's too steep.

BRAVE HEART: Hello, down there.

We can't climb out.

This calls for a Care Bear Stare.

Three, two, one, Care Bear Stare!

I was really mad at you
for telling that story,

- but thanks for getting us out.
- Lf I hadn't told you the story,

you wouldn't have been in this mess
in the first place.

Thanks for showing me
what I needed to see.

Boy, I never thought making up stories
could cause so much trouble.

Wait till I tell Mom and Dad.

Nah, they'd never believe me.

(ALL LAUGHING)
