male narrator:
Ash has made it to round two

of the Silver Conference
Victory Tournament.

While battling against
his longtime rival, Gary,

in a thrilling
six-on-six battle,

Ash was nearly defeated.

Gary, with his strong lineup
of Pokémon,

put up a tough fight
that left Ash struggling.

Fortunately,
he still had Charizard,

who was able to make
a last-minute comeback

by defeating Gary's most
powerful Pokémon, Blastoise,

which gave Ash the win.

Now with this win
under his belt,

the challenge appears to be much
greater for Ash in round two

as he prepares to face
his next opponent, Harrison,

from the Hoenn region.

Harrison comes to the tournament

with Pokémon
Ash has never seen before.

Will he be able to rise to the
occasion and emerge victorious?

Stay tuned and find out!

[singing]
- Pokémon

- No time to question my moves

I stick to the path
that I choose

Me and my friends
are gonna do it right

You'll never see us
run away from a fight

To be a Master is my dream

All I've got to do is believe

And I believe

I've got a chance to win

I'm on my way to victory

- Pokémon

- I can be a Champion

If I just believe

I'm on a Master Quest

Master Quest

I want the whole world to see

And I believe

I'm gonna be the very best

'Cause all I've got to do

Is believe in me

- Pokémon

- The first match in round two

of the Johto League
Silver Conference

will take place
on a grass field.

Ash's first Pokémon
will be Pikachu,

and starting off
with his Kecleon is Harrison.

- So we're up against Kecleon.

- Kecleon,
the k*ller swamp Pokémon.

Kecleon is able to blend
into its surroundings

by changing the color
of its body.

- Be careful, Pikachu.

That Kecleon is able
to hide itself.

- Pika!

- Politoed! Politoed! Politoed!

- He's starting with Kecleon.

- I'm afraid this is gonna be
one tough battle for Ash.

He doesn't know much of anything
about those Pokémon

from the Hoenn region
where Harrison's from.

- To be in the best four,
Ash has got to win this round.

- I just know he'll do great.

- The judge is now ready.

The match can finally begin.

- Let's go, Pikachu!

- Pikachu!

- Disappear, Kecleon.

- Kecleon!

- Where'd it go?

- Pi?

- Kecleon is using its special
ability of hiding itself.

- I can't sh**t it.

- You'll be able to capture
part of it, Delia.

Kecleon can't change
its colors completely.

The pattern on its stomach
is still visible.

- Yes, I see.

- Pikachu, Kecleon
hasn't moved yet.

Do a Quick att*ck, now!

- Pika!

- Kecleon!

- Whoa!
- Pika?

- I can't believe how fast
that Kecleon can move.

- Speed on top of invisibility
is really gonna be a challenge.

- Toge!

- Kecleon!

Kecleon! Kecleon!
Kecleon! Kecleon!

- Pika!

- Impressive.

It's been trained to move faster
as a form of defense,

which helps to compensate

for its less-than-perfect
invisibility.

- Now how am I supposed
to get a decent picture

if it won't even stand still?

- Pikachu, it moves
to fast to see.

Lock onto its position
by listening.

- Pika!

Pi!

Pikapika!

- Kecleon,
do a Lick att*ck, now!

- Kecleon!

- Pikapi!

Pika!

- Pikachu's got a direct hit
by a Lick att*ck.

- Kecleon, throw Pikachu!

- Kecleon!

Kecleon!

- Pi!

- Pikachu!

- I'm afraid
that against Kecleon's speed,

invisibility, and long tongue,
Pikachu could get licked.

- Hang in there, Pikachu.

Come on, buddy!

- Pi!

Kachu!

- Kecleon has been able
to combine its special ability

with the grass field
to gain advantage over Pikachu.

- Pikachu, be careful.

It could be anywhere.

- Kecleon, Psybeam att*ck, now!

- Kecleon!

Kecleon!

- Chu!

- Pikachu!

- Pikachu narrowly escapes
that Psybeam,

but took some damage from
the force of the shock wave.

- Kecleon another Lick att*ck,
now!

- Kecleon!

- Dive into the grass, Pikachu!

Quick!

- Pika!

Pika.

- Kecleon, use your tongue
to find Pikachu!

Use it to cut down the grass!

- Kecleon!

Keckeckeckeckeckeckeckeckeckec!

- Oh!

- Kecleon's tongue
is incredible!

It's mowing the grass!

[crowd gasps]

But something has stopped it.

- No way!

- Pika!

- Way to go, Pikachu!
Hang on tight!

- I'm finally able to get
some amazing sh*ts.

- Pikachu has got Kecleon
by the tongue,

and Kecleon now appears
to be immobilized.

- Now, Pikachu!

Thunderbolt att*ck, go!

- Pikachuuuuuu!

- [yelping]

Kec!

- Kecleon is unable to battle.

Pikachu wins!

[cheering]

Kecleon has tasted defeat.

Kecleon's special ability

made it a difficult battle
for Pikachu,

but a Thunderbolt
at just the right moment

turned things around
to give Ash the first victory.

- That was a great job, Kecleon.

You deserve a nice, long rest.

- Are you okay, Pikachu?

- Pikachu!

- All right,
then I'm keeping you in.

- I'll be more than happy
to start things off this time.

Go, Sneasel!

[grunts]

- Sneasel!

- Go, Pikachu!

Thunderbolt, now!

- Pikachuuuuu!

- Sne! Sne! Sne!

- Pika?
- It's fast!

- Go Sneasel, Metal Claw att*ck!

- Sneasel!

- Pika!

- Sneasel makes a clean hit
with its Metal Claw.

[gasping]
- Pikachu!

- Pikachu is unable to battle.

Sneasel's the winner.

- Oh, Pikachu!

- I can't believe Pikachu lost.

- Don't worry.

Ash'll make a comeback.

And anyway, if he had won
two in a row,

he might have gotten
too carried away

and then just defeated himself,
right?

- Right.

-[weakly]
Pika.

- Good job, Pikachu.

You deserve a nice rest.

- Good battling, Pikachu.

- You put up an awesome fight.

- Politoed.

- I'm really proud of you,
Pikachu.

- Pika.
- Yeah!

Go, Totodile!

You're up.

- [hissing and sputtering]

- Totodile, Water g*n!

- Dodge it and use Metal Claw!

- Sneasel!

Sneasel!

- Now use Bite att*ck, Totodile!

- Ouch!

Looks like Sneasel is trapped

by Totodile's powerful jaw!

- Oh, no!

- Hang on tight, Totodile!

- Sneasel! Sneasel! Sneasel!

Sneasel! Sneasel!
Sneasel!

- It seems to be dancing.

- Yes!

Look over here!

- Way to go, Totodile!

Now finish it!

- Sneasel!

- Oh, no!
Sneasel!

- Sneasel is unable to battle.

Totodile wins!

[cheering]

- Yeah, Totodile!

- The crowd is really loving
Totodile's victory dance.

It sure is pleased.

Way to go, Totodile!

- Let's see now.

I've got it!

Go Hypno!

- Hypno.

- Look at that:

a psychic Pokémon.

- Ash will have his work cut out
for him with this Pokémon.

Hypno not only has
strong psychic att*cks,

but fights well
in hand-to-hand combat too.

- Totodile, use Leer att*ck!

- Hypno.

- Totodile's Leer att*ck
has no effect.

- Now, Hypno!

Hypnosis att*ck!

- Hypno.

No!

No!

- [sputters]

- Totodile, don't look at it!

- [sputtering]

- This looks bad.

- Hang in there, Totodile!

Try to turn away!

- Hypno's Hypnosis has Totodile
completely spellbound.

Hypno has total control.

- All right now, Hypno.

Psychic att*ck, go!

- Hypno!

- Hypno is using
its psychic att*ck.

- Now send Totodile flying!

- No!

- Oh, Totodile!

- Totodile is unable to battle.

Hypno wins!

- Hypno has defeated Totodile
with its Psychic att*ck,

and without having to take one
step since entering the ring.

- You're up next, Snorlax.

Go!

Snorlax?

- Ash's third Pokémon
is Snorlax,

but it appears to be sleeping.

- Snorlax is so cute.

- But this is not good at all.

- Good tactic!

Starting out by sleeping

is a really great form
of defense.

- Does Ash really think
he's kidding anyone with that?

- Pika?

- Well, I guess Snorlax is safe
now from being hypnotized.

- Now, quick, Hypno!

Use Dream Eater att*ck!

- No!

- What's a Dream Eater att*ck?

- Hypno is stealing
Snorlax's energy,

making Hypno stronger
and Snorlax weaker.

- Hypno is really draining
a lot of energy from Snorlax.

- Okay, so where's that
perfect sleeping defense now?

- Hurry, Ash!
Wake up Snorlax!

Quick, before it's too late!

- You've got to wake up,
Snorlax.

Wake up now!

- [moans]

- Oh, my goodness.

Snorlax seems to be
in a very angry mood.

- Indeed.

I'd imagine that's because
it was att*cked

while sleeping very peacefully.

Go, Snorlax!

Hyper Beam, now!

- Snorlax!

[expl*si*n]

- Oh, no!
Hypno!

- Hypno is unable to battle.

Snorlax is the winner.

- All right!
Good work, Snorlax!

- [roars]

- That was good.

I'll do better.

- Ladies and gentlemen,

with three of Harrison's Pokémon

now unable to battle,

we'll be taking
a five-minute break.

- Did you see that?

I think I'm gonna win, you guys!

- Pikapika!

- Togetoge!

- There's still a ways to go
before you win, Ash.

- After all, don't forget
who your opponent is.

- I know.
It won't be easy.

[thinking]
But still,

I'm gonna finish this battle

in a way that'll make Gary
proud of me too.

- Machamp!
Machamp, Machamp!

- Machoke!

- Team Rocket is finally gonna
get its very own building.

How about that?

- Who knew our badges will sell
so well?

I guess when it comes to badge
design, I'm king of the pin.

- Oh?

I think you'll find
it was my marketing skills

and management that did it.

- I deserve the credit!

- Where would you be without me?

- Hey, break it up.

Truth is, you'd be nowheres
without Meowth.

- Anyway,
a few more badges sold,

and we'll have our new building
to move into.

[all cheering]

- Wobbuffet!

- We now go back
to the semifinals

of the Silver Conference
Victory Tournament

to join the second half
of this exciting match

between Ash and Harrison.

- Just keep on watching, Gary.

I'm really gonna win
this one for both of us.

- Who's that Pokémon?

It's Ariados!

- The second half of the second
match in the semi finals

of the Silver Conference
Victory Tournament

will now begin.

- [cooing]

- Go, Steelix!

- Steel!

- All right, Noctowl, Confusion!

- [cooing]

- [moaning]

- Don't give up, Steelix.

Sandstorm, now!

- [bellows]

- [cawing]

- Noctowl can't see Steelix
in this sand.

- Dig att*ck, Steelix!

- [trilling]

- [roars]

- Noctowl, no!

- [snarls]

- Harrison's one of the best
trainers I've seen,

and even though Noctowl can fly,

it hardly has any advantage
over Steelix.

- Don't worry.

When it comes to a challenge,

Ash is at his best.

- You think so?
- Yeah.

Even though Harrison
really seems determined

to shut Ash down.

- Here we go, Noctowl!

Use Hypnosis!

- Steelix, use Iron Tail, now!

- [roars]

- Steelix with Iron Tail
hit the mark.

- [groans]

Noctowl!

- Noctowl is unable to battle.

Steelix has won.

- Yeah!
Good work, Steelix!

- [snarls]

- That's a shame.

Noctowl lost.

- You know, I think
that five-minute break

could have made the difference,
Delia.

Ash was on a winning streak
until then,

but Harrison used the break
to focus his mind

on new match strategies
and came up with a great plan

for how to fight back.

- Harrison has begun the second
half with a stunning victory.

Both trainers have
three Pokémon remaining.

- Snorlax, I choose you!

- Snorlax.

- Go, Snorlax.
Hyper Beam now!

- Snor!

- Steelix, use your Wrap att*ck!

- [growls]

- That Wrap att*ck
is doing the job.

- Snorlax!

- Steelix, use Crunch att*ck!

- Now, Snorlax!

Ice Punch att*ck!

- Will Ice Punch work?

- I hope so for Ash's sake.

- It's a direct hit!

- Finish it off with Hyper Beam!

- Snor!

- The tower of steel
is toppling!

- Steelix, no!

- [moans]

- Steelix is unable to battle.

Snorlax wins.

- I get it.

That Ice Punch was just a way
to help it escape

from the Wrap att*ck.

- So Ash is making a comeback.

- I had a feeling
Ice Punch would work,

even against a steel Pokémon.

Good thing I didn't worry
too much about Pokémon type

or I would have missed
that chance.

- Ash's moves have really been
impressive so far.

Let's see how you like this one!

Go, Houndoom!

- [growls]

- Go, Snorlax!

Hyper Beam att*ck!

One more time!

- Counter it!

- Houndoom's Counter
has sent Snorlax's Hyper Beam

right back at him.

- [moaning]

- [gasps]
Snorlax, no!

- Snorlax is unable to battle.

Houndoom wins.

- Well, that battle
sure ended quickly.

- That's because Houndoom's
Counter att*ck

returns the opponent's att*ck,

and it uses twice the force,

so Snorlax's Hyper Beam was sent
back to him at double the power.

- So his Houndoom can use
Counter att*ck?

Harrison sure has a collection
of pretty unique Pokémon.

- Now both of them only have
two Pokémon remaining.

- Pika pika!

- Harrison's
really an awesome trainer,

but this match is far from over.

There's no way
I'm gonna lose it.

I choose Bayleef!

Go!

- Bay!

- Bayleef?
Why Bayleef?

- What a surprising decision!

Will Ash regret choosing Bayleef
as his fifth Pokémon?

- Bayleef is a grass Pokémon,

so Houndoom really has
the advantage in this battle.

- It'd be so much better
if Ash still had Totodile.

- Hmm.

It seems to me that Ash
could have chosen the order

of his Pokémon
a little bit better.

- Is he really at that much
of a disadvantage?

- In theory, the odds are
against him winning this time,

but we'll see
if he has a trick up his sleeve

to pull him through.

- Let's go, Bayleef!

Razor Leaf!

- Bay!

Bayleef!

- Flamethrower att*ck!

Go, Houndoom!

- [growls]

- This is looking bad.

Grass att*cks won't do anything

against a fire type
like Houndoom.

- Headbutt, now!

- Houndoom, Bite att*ck!

- Bay!

- Bayleef, use Vine Whip
to close its mouth!

- Leef!
- [growling]

- No, Houndoom!

- Now I've seen it all!

Bayleef has used Vine Whip
to muzzle Houndoom.

- Perfect.

Houndoom can't use Flamethrower

or Bite att*cks anymore.

- Very interesting.

That Headbutt att*ck
was just a distraction.

Huh.

- That was a really smart move
by Ash.

I'll bet Harrison
was caught off guard.

- Well, it's obvious
that Houndoom was.

- Now, Bayleef,
time to throw Houndoom!

- Bay!

Bayleef!

- [groans]

- That's the way, Bayleef!

Now finish it with Body Slam!

- Bay!

- [moans]

[groans]

- [sighs]

Houndoom.

- Houndoom is unable to battle.

Bayleef wins it.

- You were great, Bayleef!

You really showed him
what you can do.

- Bay!

Bay bay!

- Despite his disadvantage,

Bayleef has managed to win
against Houndoom.

Harrison is now down
to his final Pokémon.

And the question now is,
what will that Pokémon be?

- You're as good as I expected,
Ash,

and even though I haven't had
as tough a battle as this one

in a very long time,
you're not gonna b*at me.

Like you, I won't accept defeat.

I choose Blaziken!

- Blaziken!

- Oh, my!
A Blaziken!

- I've never even heard
of that Pokémon before.

- It's very rare to see
a Blaziken in these parts.

That Pokémon has sighted
only in the Hoenn region,

so this is a treat.

- Let's see what Dexter
has to say about Blaziken.

- Blaziken, a Blaze Pokémon.

Blaziken is able to easily leap
over -story buildings

with its great
lower body strength.

- That's great.

So now it's out
of the frying pan

and into another fire Pokémon.

- And Bayleef must be
at a disadvantage again.

- Let's go, Bayleef!

Razor Leaf!

- Bay!

Bayleef!

- Here we go now, Blaziken!

Kick down that Razor leaf.

- Blaziken!

Blaziken!

- [gasps]

- Oh, no way!

- That Razor Leaf att*ck

had no effect at all.

Without even relying
on its fire att*cks,

this Pokémon has put on
a great display of strength.

- Blaziken's more
than just strong.

I think it's also one of the
fastest Pokémon I've ever seen.

- Yeah, and since Ash has never
battled against Blaziken,

who knows what else it can do?

- [thinking]
I don't know what other att*cks

it has, so I better keep
Bayleef a good distance away.

Bayleef, use your Vine Whip now!

- Bay!

- Blaze!

- [gasps]

It caught it?

- Reel it in!

- Blaziken!

- Bay!

- Bayleef, use Blaziken's power
and do a Body Slam!

- Bay!

- Go, Blaziken!

Fire Punch!

- Blaziken!

Blaziken!

- Blaziken's Fire Punch
did a lot of damage.

- [grunts]
Bayleef, no!

- Bay!

- Bayleef is unable to battle.

Blaziken wins it!

- That means Ash is also down
to his final Pokémon.

Blaziken has given us all
an incredible display of power

in defeating Bayleef,
but as the pressure mounts,

can Harrison guide it
to a final victory over Ash?

What will Ash choose
as his last Pokémon?

- Harrison's Blaziken
is a really strong Pokémon,

but luckily I have the perfect
match to that power right here.

- Charizard, I choose you!

- [roars]

- Ash's final Pokémon
is Charizard.

That means the first match
of the second round

of this Victory Tournament

will be a red-hot sizzling fight
between two fire Pokémon.

Folks, I think we're in
for quite a battle.

- This battle's
gonna be intense.

Ash's Charizard is good,
and a high-level Pokémon.

- All right, Charizard.

Flamethrower att*ck!
Let's go!

- [roars]

- Blaziken,
use Flamethrower right back!

- Blaziken!

[expl*si*n]

narrator: Things are really
heating up in this last match

that will decide the victor
of the preliminaries.

Which trainer,
Ash or Harrison,

will emerge victorious
from this battle

that pits fire against fire?

[singing]
- There's no time

To question my moves

I stick to the path
that I choose

Me and my friends
are gonna do it right

To be a Master is my dream

All I've got to do is believe
