04x26 - The Law and Jesse Duke

Post by bunniefuu »

Yee-haw!

Y'all might have noticed

the General ain't
exactly gettin' it on here.

Bo and Luke never
did like to go for a blast

unless there is a
real good reason.

Especially, when they
got Uncle Jesse and Daisy

in the car with 'em.

Can you boys think
of anything else?

As much as I hate to say it

I think we could use a day
off from your fancy cookin'.

I'm on the last notch of my belt

from them praline pies
you made this week.

Listen, I got some
belts I've grown out of.

They have a lot of notches
left on them for you boys.

- Nothing personal.
- That's alright.

'Cause you're the
deputy and I'm the sheriff.

Now what Rosco and Cletus
are readin' in that newspaper's

done got them green with envy

and hotter than a West Texas
highway on the first of August.

Look, that sucker's made
twice what you and I make.

I know. That's not countin'
that specialwithholdin'tax

Boss takes on our checks.

Which he withholds from the
government in the first place.

Making it unnecessary
to withhold it from us.

Because he's withholdin' for
his own fat little pocketbook.

Withholdin',
withholdin', withholdin'.

Oh, it infuriates me. You
know something, Cletus?

Now I know you are
Boss Hogg's blood cousin.

But I don't care.

And you know, sheriff, I
know you're Boss' unblooded

brother-in-law, but
I don't care either.

- You don't?
- No, I don't.

- Good. Shake.
- You bet.

You know somethin'?
We're all the union.

- Let's go break it to Boss.
- Let's go.

- Come on, Flash.
- We need your support.

You could give
him a little trouble.

We got the others..

Oh! Ho-ho.

Cletus, don't go
scuffing my vehicle.

Get over there,
there's your vehicle.

Oh, I love it.

Rosco and Cletus? Heh!

Uh, Cletus, this is
your superior officer.

It's those dang Duke boys.

'You know somethin'?'

'When we want 'em,
we can't find 'em.'

'When don't want
'em, they're in the way.'

I know what you mean.

Y'all got any idea what we've
done to deserve their company?

Nothin'.

All in favor of
losing 'em, say yeah.

- Yeah!
- Yay!

- Yahoo!
- Ha ha.

Well, the yeahs and
yee-haws have it.

Hang on, y'all.

You know, habits
are hard to break.

The Dukes are
runnin' from the law

that ain't even after 'em.

Cletus, this is Rosco again.

There ain't no way we're
gonna get around 'em.

So, let's cut through to
town on Meadowbrook Road.

Is that a roger?

That's roger. I'm right behind
you, sheriff. Lead the way.

They turned down
Meadowbrook Road.

Well, it sure ain't like
them to give up a chase.

I know it.

Well, unless they wasn't
chasin' you in the first place.

- Yeah, yeah, that's a thought.
- It'd be a switch.

- Wonder what he's up to.
- I don't know.

It was showdown at the J.D.
Corral for Rosco and Cletus

as they showed Boss the
article about the lawmen

in Chickasaw
winnin' their strike.

Just forget all about this here
breezes and benefit talkin'.

All that kinda claptrap
'cause I just can't afford it.

- No, times is really bad.
- Well..

Ain't you heard?
We got a recession.

I'll tell you what I'll do.

You get back on the
job and I'll think about it.

And maybe I can afford, oh..

Little bit of what you want

'in a year or two.'

Are you kiddin' me, Boss?

Listen, we know
you can afford it.

And we're not gonna wait a year.

- Nor two.
- Or two.

- You ain't?
- No.

Here I thought I
was being generous.

- No!
- Alright, get back to work.

Before I dock your paycheck
for all the time you spend

jawing here in my office.

Oh, listen, don't
you thr*aten us.

You're forcin' us
to go out on strike.

- Strike?
- Go out on strike?

- Strike.
- Is that what you said?

- He said.
- How dare you?

Alright, alright,
just go out on strike.

Yeah, but while you're
strikin' out there, don't forget

that you're both also fired.

Fired.

Now we're fired?

Yeah, you're fired till
you come to your senses.

So, just hand in your badges
and your g*ns and your g*n belts.

Yeah, go ahead, put
'em down right there.

Yeah, if you wanna strike,
you're fired. So put 'em down.

Hush! Just put it down there.

That's what I like about
you. You are all union.

I'm all scared.

'Policemen have bills to
pay just like anyone else.'

Alright, we got this done. I
got some business at the bank.

'Police can't work on
an empty stomach.'

Hey, look at that.

Aye-diddly-dee, if there's
any money left, give it to me.

Pass us by.

Four dollars, more collars.

O-oh, yeah, just pass 'em by.

No loot, no pursuit.

Support your local police
dog. More meat and less bones.

I ain't believin' this.

Rosco and Cletus on
strike against Boss Hogg.

- You got it.
- My goodness!

Finally want a bigger
piece of the pie, huh?

Either that or their
own private speed track.

Well, with inflationary, he's
gonna need two speed tracks.

Just a minute.

Rosco and Cletus may not
be as pure as driven snow.

But they're the only law we got.

And some law in Hazzard
is better than none at all.

So, let's just get on over to
bank and take care our business.

- This will be done in a while.
- You got it.

Now, everybody knows
that ol' Boss runs Hazard.

And most of the crime in it.

Not havin' Rosco to help,
Boss left to find the Jones clan.

Kinda take up the crime slack.

Being an entrepreneur
is a heavy responsibility.

Learning that word
wasn't too easy either.

Well, well, the Jones boys.

Boss, found the Jones at
their favorite watering hole.

Hi Boss.

Say listen, where's that
special sister of yours.

And that's their
sister, Alabama.

And friends, always
beware of folks

that have a first
name like a state.

They are always trouble.

Alabama.

Honey, you sure are
a sight for sore eyes.

Lotta water under the bridge
to some old colonial city

days, ain't there?

A little bird told me that you
Jones's might be passin' through

these parts and might
just be camping out here.

Let's just say
we're between jobs.

Listen, what would say if I told
you that every lawman in Hazard

just went out on strike.

Go on.

Well, the town is
perched high and dry.

I'd say this town was
just ripe for pickin'.

That's what I'd say too.

Same deal as the
last deal. - ?

Yeah, same deal.
Of course. - .

Don't bother you to be robbin'
people from your own town?

Well, it would. But I ain't.

I sold all them folks
robbery insurance.

The ones takin' it on the chin
are the insurance companies.

Boss, all we got is
that small pick up.

Well, make two trips.
Nobody's gonna stop you.

And even if somebody did try
to catch you, it wouldn't be you

they was tryin' to catch.

No, siree bob.

It'd be the Duke boys.

The Duke boys.

'Who are the Duke boys?'

Oh, you'll find out
soon enough honey.

It'll be a surprise.

You like surprises? I do!

I'll keep in touch.

Have a happy!

Floyd, you gas up the truck.

Simon, you get the g*ns.

How do you reckon ol'
Boss figured to get the Dukes

messed up in this?

'The policemen have bills
to pay like anyone else.'

Just like anyone else.

Policemen can't work on a empty
stomach. They get hungry too.

All we want is
what we got coming.

'You're gonna get
what you deserve. '

Oh, here, here. Amen. Alright.

This gonna be
a glory day fellas.

You Dukes just hush and
butt out of our picketing anyway.

Kids that's enough.

How's it goin'?

Well, Jesse, it's come
see, it's come saw.

Speakin' of saw,
look over there.

There's our little fat muffin.

Wait a minute! Wait
a minute over there!

Well, what do you think
you're doin' over here?

I don't want no pickin
in our county property.

And get them badges off
your clothes cause you're fired.

These are...

Just move on before
I call out some g*ons.

You get that vicious dog of
the picket line too, you hear?

Hey, listen, Boss.

Does this mean that
you wanna talk turkey?

Wrong. Indeed, I wanna
go inside and eat one.

Now, just move it.

J.D., it ain't right to have no
law enforcement in Hazzard.

So why don't you just
take Rosco and Cletus

and sit down at
a bargainin' table!

You're right,
that would be fair.

I will sit down at a
bargainin' table with them.

First thin' tomorrow morning.

Well, what about today?

We can't go with out no
law enforcement all day.

Today, today, today. What
could possibly happen today?

'Help! Help! I've been robbed!'

Sheriff! Cletus! Stop 'em!

They took everythin'. Stop
'em, they took everythin'!

- Who?
- Who took what, where?

They stole every stereo
and video game in my store.

Look, there's their pick
up goin' on up Maple Street.

'Do somethin'!'

There's nothin' in the world
that I would do but help you.

But I can't. My hands are
tied. You see we're on strike.

Dang your strike. How will I get
back my stereos and video games?

I'll tell you how.

Everybody, like you heard,
there's been a robbery.

And the crooks just
went up Maple Street.

Now, anybody or somebody

just get after them and
make a citizen's arrest!

Hey, Boss, I'll go in if
you'd give in on our strike.

What? Never!

Ain't there just somebody
around here with a fast car

who is man enough to go
after and catch them crooks?

- Alright, everybody, sit tight.
- We'll see what we can do.

Oh, not you, not you, Duke boys.
I want somebody we can trust.

Ah, you two again. Hey, hey.

You forgot your groceries too.

No! Come back.
Come on back, now!

Come on back, you Dukes!

Stop!

Boss has done it again.

Well, ain't we
sittin' pretty boys.

Phew.

- Oh, my gosh. Hold on.
- Got it.

Yee-ha!

- Yeah.
- Ha ha ha.

'J.D. Hogg calling Alabama
Jones right on the road somewhere.'

'You got your pretty
lil' ears on, Honey?'

Yeah. We got trouble
you said we wouldn't have.

Oh, listen, If you mean that
you're being pursued at this

exact moment by
a certain orange car

don't you worry none,
cause that's exactly what I had

in mind for them
Duke boys to be doin'.

What do you want
me to do with them?

I don't care how you do this
but what I want you to do is..

I'm kinda lookin'
forward to somebody

startin' to take
a hit at old boss.

Ain't you?

I don't see much of the plan
but, if I was old Bo and Luke

I'd begin to get suspicious
when I couldn't catch that

old clunky truck.

This is about as good
a place as any! Hold on!

I'm holdin'. Ain't you?

Bo!

Alright, fellas, out
of the car. C'mon!

If you all ever noticed
that Bo and Luke

most always get into
trouble when they stop.

Alright, we'll get out fast.

- Ugh.
- Oh.

- Ahh!
- Ugh.

Aah.

They were easier than I thought.

- They were?
- Let's get out of here.

Time out.

You Duke boys fight just
about as good as you drive.

Too bad your friends don't.

- How do you know who we were?
- Just a wild guess.

Get some rope.

Meanwhile, Cooter dropped
Jesse and Daisy off at the Duke farm.

Jesse kept tryin' to reach
Bo and Luke on the CB

all the way in from
town... with no luck.

This is Shepherd
callin' lost sheep.

This is Shepherd
callin' lost sheep.

Come back boys, you out there?

Yeah, they're out there alright.

But they're just too
tied up to answer.

- More ideas?
- Quiet.

Don't forget, I got the g*n.

Any word?

Can't trace 'em
anywhere. Dang it.

They gotta be in trouble or they
would've answered, Uncle Jesse.

I know. That's what
I've been thinkin'.

But I've been
afraid to think it.

- Well, let's go.
- Where we goin'?

Get Rosco and Cletus to give
us a hand in findin' the boys.

They're on strike!

They'll just have to
unstrike their strike.

I need their help
and I need it bad.

They can walk up and
down there all they want

with their placards
and scare J.D. Hogg

but they don't scare me none.

I pay taxes and they can
just come and give me a hand.

And I'll go find the boys.

Ain't that nice, Alabama,
honey? Ha ha ha.

You're really doin'
your job just like I said.

Now, you take very good care
of them Duke boys, you hear me?

Oh, don't worry, Boss. I got
'em all tied up at your warehouse.

- What do we do with them now?
- Well, now, Alabama..

Is when we start to
lay the whole blame

for them robberies right smack
on the lap of them Duke boys.

If..

While old Boss was layin'
out his frame up to Alabama

things was deteriorating
on the labour barricade.

Cletus, well you
don't scuff my sign!

Just across the
street old Jake Sumner

was takin' a pretty
expensive lunch break.

'Cause inside, those Jones
boys was cleanin' out his shelves.

And ya'll know whose gonna
get the blame, don't you?

Excuse me, ma'am, is there
any chance to get a drink of water?

Ma'am? Well, ain't
we the polite ones.

You see that comes
from bein' brought up right.

Which of course you
know nothin' about.

- You apologize for that.
- No way. Ma'am.

Bo, apologize to the lady.
Maybe we can get some water.

I will not apologize
to the lady.

- Bo!
- I'm sorry, ma'am.

That's better.

And don't you two run away.

You didn't overplay
it much, did you?

- No, I did not.
- Yeah, I got it. Come on.

Should we lift up out of this.

- Lucky timing.
- Whoa.

Ugh.

Come on.

She's gone.

I don't see her,
let's go, come on.

Still thirsty?

We got the stuff.

- Trouble?
- Do I ever have trouble?

Alright, inside!
Come on, move it.

Now, friends, ain't nothin'
scarier than a woman

on the other end
of a waving g*n.

You know, I bet
she can't cook either.

Ho, ho, ho, just a
little more dough.

Now, here comes
Boss. Totin' a snack.

Listen, Boss. Listen
Boss, Cletus and I..

We've been talkin' it
over and we've decided

we will take one
week a year with pay.

- One week?
- Right.

Never.

How about a long
weekend with pay?

Weekend? Forget it.

Oh, one afternoon with pay?

One afternoon?
Not on your lives!

Rosco, Cletus!

Aah!

- Ow. Oh, little fat buddy!
- Ooh. Ooh.

Argh!

Get away. Get away. Get
away from me, will you.

Rosco, you... knucklehead.

'Cletus, you see what
your dumb strike comes too.'

v*olence, v*olence,
that's just v*olence.

- That's not v*olence.
- Give it to me, I'm outta here.

Listen Boss, this
is not our fault...

- I ain't givin' one minute off.
- Well, listen... Boss.

You forgot your tomato.
Jesse Duke, It's you Dukes fault.

Wait a minute.

You know you set our strike
back weeks maybe even years.

- It's your own fault fellas.
- Never mind about that.

Boys I need your help Bo and
Luke could be in bad trouble.

Y'all! Jake Sumner's camera
store and Andy Tibbles TV shop

just got cleaned out!

- Oh, no.
- Oh, no.

Terrible. My TV
set's still at repair.

It ain't there no more.

Rosco, maybe this
once can we go after 'em.

Forget it Cletus,
forget it, forget it.

You're not a deputy anymore,
right? And I'm not a sheriff.

- 'I know.'
- 'We've been fired.'

So get back on the picket
line. Just, just get on it.

- Ho, ho, ho.
- Cletus, start with he, he, he.

Meanwhile, old Boss was
whooping up an appetizer.

Real good. You get an A.

'Yeah, A for Alabama.'

Alright, now honey, I want
you to take all that stuff

that you just got your
hands on and get it all over

to our usual place
at Chaktaw county.

Will do.

The next thing you're
gonna do and listen carefully

is get your hands on one of
them cameras you just got a hold of

and take a real nice picture of
them Duke boys for the sheriff.

Sheriff? I thought you said
the sheriff was on strike.

I didn't mean the old sheriff.
No, I meant the new sheriff.

The one who's first job is gonna
be to arrest them Duke boys.

And that new sheriff is gonna
be somebody who nobody

ever would think
would arrest them.

I don't know or care who
or what you're raving about.

If it'll keep the heat
off me and my brothers.

- I'll do just like you say.
- Yeah. You do that.

Alright.

Now, I believe I'd
sh**t that thing.

To be sure it was dead first.

You boys load them
TV's in the back of that RV

and get back
inside for the rest.

Watch your step.

- Say cheese boys.
- What?

Oh, the sheriff is
gonna just love that one.

- Think we're being set up.
- What was your first clue.

Now, how about
one more just in case

you blinked your
eyes the first time.

Get him, Bo.

'That's enough, Alabama, let
'em go off around this next bend.'

You know it looks like Bo
and Luke's being had again.

I bet Alabama got some places
for them pictures she took too.

'And now what?'

We better get back
to the edge of town.

I gotta get these
pictures to Boss Hogg.

After that the Duke
boys are his problem.

- Did we lose 'em?
- Yeah, I think so.

Well, it seemed
awful easy to me.

First a car, then a truck.

All that's left is something
to fall out of the sky.

- Hang on.
- 'Alright.'

'One way to catch a ride.'

'Chances are he ain't
goin' our way. Let's get out.'

Leroy, did you put
that vehicle in there?

Don't let 'em out.

Even the moving business
is kinda strange in Hazzard.

Well, the boys headed for
the Duke farm still not realizing

they had some of that stolen
stuff in trunk of the General.

Which was all part
of ol' Boss's plan.

Uncle Jesse, Daisy, you
got your ears on come back.

This is lost sheep to shepherd
an bo peep you got your ears on.

They ain't at the farm.

Try Cooter.

Crazy Cooter this is lost sheep
you got your ears on come back?

Cooter?

Where is everybody?

Where everybody is, is at
the emergency town meeting

over at Boss Hoggs office.

Wait a minute, we didn't
call this here meeting

to talk about no strike.

On the other hand, uh, since
you did bring up the strike

uh, maybe until it's settled,
we could just appoint ourselves

a temporary sheriff.

- That's what we wanted.
- That's a good idea.

Of course trouble is at the last
minute, where're we gonna find

someone for the job who
we can trust and have faith in?

I mean, where in this very
room can we find somebody

that we can all look up to
and who would be willing

to make the sacrifice
of taking on the job

of temporary sheriff?

Where, I repeat where
in this room is there a man

I can reach out and touch
whom we can all trust.

Where, where?

- Boss, you've done it.
- I did?

Yup, there's only one person in
this room like that, Jesse Duke.

- Oh, Jesse.
- No. No.

No, no, no.

Not, Jesse Duke. No
way, no, he wouldn't do it.

- Sure he would.
- No way.

- I don't wanna be sheriff.
- Well, alright.

If you insist, let's
put it to a vote.

All those who want Jesse
Duke, raise your hands.

Daisy.

Well it's unanimous.
Congratulations, Jesse.

The people have spoke
you are our temporary sheriff.

- Bo, I've been thinking.
- What?

Pictures that lil' lady took are
bound to fall in Boss's hands.

Yeah.

Rosco and Cletus ain't after
us now 'cause they're on strike.

- Wonder what Boss is got going.
- Something.

Real shame of the situation
is the predicament he puts

the town folk in,
no protection at all.

- I know.
- Wait a minute we could help.

How?

When Uncle Jesse gets back
we'll have him call his cronies

and we call our buddies
and put together some sort

of volunteer bunch like
the Hazzard fire brigade.

That way when the
Jones' comes to town

we'll have a surprise
waiting for them. Huh?

You got that right.

- To enforce all the laws.
- To enforce all the laws.

- Of Hazzard county, so help me.
- Of Hazzard county, so help me.

Well, alright then.
Now here's your badge

and now you're
temporary sheriff.

- Congratulations.
- Well, thank you.

- Sure proud of you.
- Well.

Boys we're gonna be even
prouder of sheriff Duke here

when he gets out captures
and brings in the perpetrators

responsible for
robbing your store.

Well, J.D, that's
gonna take some time.

Namely Bo and Luke Duke.

What! That's a lie.

J.D., you've gone loco?

You know them boys
didn't have nothing to do

with them store robberies.

Oh, no. Well there's
proof that they did.

I got some pictures of
them caught in the act.

Here boys, take
a glance at these.

- Uncle Jesse.
- Let me see that.

Kinda favors 'em, don't it?

Alright. Alright.

I'll do my sworn duty
and I'll bring them boys in.

Just to prove that
the court of law

that them phony pictures
don't tell the whole truth.

Come on, Daisy.

You can take Cletus's
patrol car parked outside.

It's all yours
now, Sheriff Duke.

Old Boss kinda looks
like a cat with cream

on his whiskers, huh.

- Ho, ho, ho. Want...
- He, he, he. Cletus and me.

Where are you gonna
go first Uncle Jesse?

Going out to the farm,
cause if the boys are in trouble

that's where they'll come
to and I wanna be there.

Then I'm going with you. Time
for us Dukes to be together.

Are you going out there as
Uncle Jesse or the sheriff?

Cooter, you know
better than that.

I don't like this any
better than you do.

- Sorry.
- Ain't easy on him, Cooter.

Or any of us for that matter.

Oh, wait a minute, Jesse.
What are you and Daisy doing?

Your taking Cletus's vehicle.

- You see that there badge?
- Yeah.

Well, because of
your dang strike

I'm the temporary
sheriff of Hazzard County.

And I ain't got time to explain.

- What do you mean?
- Hey, that's my car.

So, Sheriff Jesse Duke
and Daisy headed back

to the Duke farm hoping
to find Bo and Luke.

Jesse Duke, the new
sheriff? That's impossible.

No, it's possible. Boss
swore him in and it's legal.

What? Did the
Boss did that to me?

That little sneaky
metal muffet did it.

Alright, Cletus.

Picket line.

- Got it.
- Yeah.

- Just say it, Cooter.
- That'll do it.

Alright.

This here is Luke,
coming back at ya?

You ain't by any chance seen
Uncle Jesse or Daisy have you?

I just seen him, listen you
guys hang tight on five by five

'cause I got some good
news and some bad news.

Yeah, let it rip.

The good news is
that your Uncle Jesse

is the new acting temporary
sheriff of Hazzard County.

What?

But the... bad news is, it
looks like he's coming out

to arrest y'all.

Cooter told the boys
how Boss conned Jesse

into becoming Sheriff
and all about them

incriminating ' photographs.

Cooter, you tryin' to tell us
our Uncle Jesse is coming

out to the farm to arrest us?

Listen y'all, I don't know
for sure if he's gonna do that.

All I know is that there's a
sad old man with a badge

heading towards you, I'm gone.

Yeah, we're gone too.

Nah. Uncle Jesse
wouldn't arrest us.

I knew them pictures
would show up.

Well, he ain't no Rosco
or Cletus so if we tell him

how it happened
he's gonna believe us.

- Yeah.
- Won't he?

Yeah, sure nothing
to worry about it.

- Sheriff.
- Oh, we got air in the spare?

We didn't, the last time.

- I better check.
- Good idea.

Speak of the devil,
here he comes now.

I never thought that
I'd live to see Daisy

driving in one of 'em things.

Luke, I don't know
quite how to tell you this.

Wanna watch TV.

Lord. With this kinda evidence,
Jesse's gotta take us in.

That's what Boss Hogg
wanted in the first place.

Save him the embarrassment,
take this stuff back

to the rightful owners and
get him to that warehouse.

- Where the rest of it's at.
- Alright, let's go.

'Hang on, girl.'

Oh, I never thought I'd see
the day a Duke chasing a Duke.

I'm telling y'all,
Old sherrif Jesse

is in hot pursuit
of Bo and Luke.

Bet they'll never figured that
over breakfast this morning.

Shepherd to lost sheep
shepherd to..uh, dang it.

This is the sherrif, this is
your Uncle Jesse in here.

Pull over boys. I can
explain everything.

You don't have to explain
nothin', Uncle Jesse.

Cooter told us all
'bout you being Sheriff!

'Oh, that's good. Pull
over so we can talk.'

Uncle Jesse, we never
disobeyed an order from you before

but I'm afraid this one
time we gotta do just that.

Wait a minute. You boys
tryin to tell me that your guilty?

No, sir. But circumstances
kinda point that direction right now.

Dang it, pull over so
we can talk about it.

We can't do that.

Until we get 'em circumstances
point the other direction.

Hang on.

I don't know about y'all, but
I don't know who to root for.

'Hang on.'

Whoa.

Dang.

Are you alright?
Would you look at that?

Looks like they're okay.

Thank God.

Listen, Uncle Jesse, now
look you and Daisy just sit tight

me and Bo are gonna do what
we gotta do and we'll come back

and fix that tire and
explain everything then.

Let's get out of here.

Now just dumping that
stolen stuff wasn't good enough

they had to see that everything
got back in it's right place.

That's called pride.

But Jesse was up to
his ears in Duke pride.

He weren't about
to wait for help.

No way to have worn
out tires on this thing.

The boys unloaded everything
on Otis Plunkett's doorstep.

Knowing to know Otis was
honest enough to see that

Jake and Andy got
back what was theirs.

Meanwhile most of the
remaining stolen goods was close

to pulling out for
Chaktow county.

C'mon, move it.

Woo. Yeah.

Uncle Jesse oughta be up
and around the next bend.

That is if he waited for us.

Now to get them
to pull over and talk.

There's Uncle Jesse and Daisy.

- We found 'em first.
- My guess is, they found us.

Alright.

Well, it's the handiest
place I could find to carry it.

Now how come you two
run off from me like that?

So the boys told Jesse and
Daisy about Alabama Jones

and her brothers, and how
the Boss had tried to set 'em up

with them phony
photographs and planting

the evidence in their car.

Just hold it, hold
it, hold it, now.

'Now if I was to believe
all that. Which I do.'

It's still have to be
proved in the court of law.

Uncle Jesse, look. Now we
know where the evidence is.

It's in a old warehouse down on
Dry Creek road. Belongs to Boss.

Provided, 'em
Jones' got rid of it yet.

They are not lying.

Well, I know that, Daisy, but
as temporary deputy Sheriff

I'm supposed to take
'em in for questioning.

Of course... if you was to
bamboozle me like you do

Rosco and Cletus all
the time and get away.

Then guess I'd have to
follow you wherever you went

if had it happened
to be that warehouse.

Well, then that's where we'd
be, but... you wouldn't do that

to your, old Uncle
Jesse, now would you?

- Us?
- No.

- To you.
- No way.

I didn't think so.

You know, Sheriff, it looks
like you got yourself another flat.

Where?

- Why don't you go check it out.
- Where? Where?

- 'Take a look.'
- See ya.

I think we will be
able to catch 'em.

Bo and Luke started steerin'

Sheriff Uncle Jesse Dukes
straight up Dry Creek road

to Boss's warehouse.

Where the Jones trio was
just getting ready to leave.

Alabama, we got company.

Boss, you got your ears on.

This is J.D. Hogg, Alabama.
How you doing? Come back.

Them two young yokels and
the sheriff are coming down on us.

If this is a double cross...

Look all 'em Dukes ain't
supposed to be there.

Alright, alright, look never
mind. Just get out of there.

Quick. I'll take care of it.

Let's move, now.

Move it.

- There they go, Sheriff.
- I see 'em.

Quit callin' me Sheriff. You're
makin' me sick to my stomach.

Let's get 'em.

Breaker one, breaker one.

This is J.D. Hogg, Jesse!

Now listen, listen
and listen good.

Are you forgettin' that
you're the Sheriff or what?

'Now your orders was to
bring in Bo and Luke Duke.'

'You hear what I'm sayin'?'

J.D., I'm conducting
this investigation

the way I see fit and this
is the way I see fit to do it.

I ain't one of your toadies
like Cletus and Rosco

so just... bug off. Do you hear.

But... J.D., I love
it, I love it, I love it.

I'm in a hot pursuit.

Oh, Jesse Duke, how dare you.

Oh.

Oh.

Rosco. What you doin'
makin' fun of Rosco.

Besides that was a
terrible imitation of Rosco.

Rosco. Rosco
and Cletus, that's it.

Dukes got some
heavy catchin' up to do

no question 'bout that!

Oh, there you are.

Boss, meanwhile, decided
to finagle Rosco and Cletus

to stop the Dukes
and bring 'em all in.

But there are
finagle to finagling.

And that's fine finagling.

Oh, yes, you do Rosco, c'mon.

No, sir. You give in, if
you give in. We'll do it.

Alright, alright, I'll give
you anything you want.

Just take these
things and goin'.

Oh, yes. % pay raise.

Twenty five?
Alright, done, done.

And two week paid vacation and
double time pay for Sunday work?

Sundays. Alright, now go.

Cletus, Cletus, take your
clammy hands off of me

I'm again your supreme
superior commander.

- Sorry.
- Listen you.

- Oh.
- Listen, listen here.

- What?
- You ain't won nothin'.

Unless you get 'em Dukes and
bring 'em back. Do you hear me?

Includin' ex-temporary
Sheriff Jesse Duke

for disobeyin' a direct order.

Now here take these things
and get going. You hear me?

Well, just go will you, go.

'C'mon, Flash.
It's hot pursuit.'

- Get-get flash in there.
- C'mon, sweetheart.

C'mon, we're in hot pursuit.

Oh-ho, I love it, I love it,
I love it. Buckle up baby.

Serves me right for makin'
an honest man a Sheriff.

I mean, you just can't trust
nobody nowadays no more.

Hot pursuit.

- Oh-ho.
- Oh-ho

You see that car.

- Cletus.
- What?

Why didn't you put
the windows up?

I didn't think, we'll
get paint all over.

We're gonna take
little short cut, Sheriff.

- You're right behind us?
- Of course, I'm coming.

Who do you think taught
you how to take detours?

I'm right behind you.

Alright.

Yoo-ho!

Yee-haa.

Where did they come from?

Now two things, old Rosco
knows about is dogs and shortcuts.

Now this is Sheriff
Rosco P. Coltrane

calling ex-temporary
Sheriff, Jesse Dukes.

'Listen, Jesse, the strike
is over and I'm ordering'

'you and the boys to
pull over, and I'm serious.'

'Rosco, where you
been with that car?'

Looks like you've been to
an Easter egg colorin' party.

Listen I'm not kiddin'
now. I'm repeatin' pull over.

'Or I'm gonna have to
run you off the roads..'

Who's gonna be
drivin' who off the road?

'So watch this?'

Oh.

Don't do that.

He's been tryin' to out
drive me for years

and never he's
been able to do it.

Ah!

We're in disgrace.

Alabama, they're gainin' on us.

Well, I always say, if you
can't lose 'em, sh**t 'em.

'Well, they're gettin'
real mad now.'

Listen, just pull up and pretend
that we're gonna back off.

What?

Listen, they gotta slow
down when they goin' up

Devil's Ridge, don't they?

Yeah, they do. Yes, they do.

Let me out right after they
disappear around that next bend.

- Careful now.
- You got it.

We've done it.

I guess people around
here scare real easy.

'Here they come again.'

'They're on the roof.'

Simon, you've still
got a g*n. Use it!

Hey, hold it, right there.

Hold it.

You! C'mon over here.

Well, Jesse's first act as
Sheriff was to arrest 'em

Jones' people for robbery.

Second one was to resign
from his law enforcement career.

You sure did a good job.

And thank you for
everything you've done..

Boss, naturally, dropped
the robbery charges against

old Bo and Luke
and just as naturally

he denied that
had anything to do

with Alabama and her brothers.

Which they didn't like much.

When they get outta jail,
old Boss better sure watch it.

Who ever you are.

Before the labor
movement could tidy up

up and celebrate their victory.

Old Boss had already
figured out a way

to get a kick back
on their vacations.

Well, the Dukes headed
back to the farm and supper.

Not bad for a slow
day in Hazzard.
