02x20 - Harder Than It Looks

Post by bunniefuu »

In 1972, a cr*ck commando unit
was sent to prison by a m*llitary court...

for a crime they didn't commit.

These men promptly escaped
from a maximum-security stockade...

to the Los Angeles underground.

Today, still wanted by the government,
they survive as soldiers of fortune.

If you have a problem,
if no one else can help...

and if you can find them,
maybe you can hire the A-Team.

This will be our final contact,
Mr. Teasdale.

If you want to see your daughter alive...

the price is $500,000
in small unmarked bills.

Put the money in the briefcase
we've supplied you.

Here's the new part:

Find an independent cabdriver
who might want to make a few extra dollars.

Supplied by you, of course.

Tell him to take interstate 12
to Farm Canyon turn off.

Then he takes Farm Canyon Road
north about 12 miles into the hills.

He'll come to a crossroads
that meets Princeton Street.

He should drive exactly 2 miles...

past that crossroads
and park on the shoulder.

Now, as soon as we verify...

that you haven't been stupid enough
to set a trap for us...

we'll let the cabdriver go
and we'll bring you information...

on how to find your daughter.
But we're warning you:

We know you don't like
the little people telling you what to do...

only this time, take it. Don't hire anybody.

No cops, no Army, no FBI. Nothing.

Because there is no one anywhere...

who can help your daughter
if you don't do exactly what we say.

Absolutely no one.

Hey, take it light.

- You're a stinking cop.
- Are you kidding?

I've been hit three times
in the last two months.

I get a $20 tip and a suitcase...

I'm told to deliver
in the middle of nowhere...

up your Khyber Pass.

Do you think I'd travel with a prayer?

- It's all in here?
- I guess so.

It's locked.

- How do you know?
- I looked, didn't I?

Only, I'm a cabdriver, not Joan of Arc.

Spread eagle it. You stay right there.

You think you got a title?

I'll be back in two minutes.

I can see you from where I'll be.

So if you scratch your ear, you'll lose it.
Along with the rest of your head.

- Right?
- Right.

Wrong.

Take it easy, it's Tony.

I love it.

I can't believe it. They actually did it.
$500,000. Just like we asked.

- Of course they did.
- What about the cabbie?

He was carrying this.
He says he just uses it for protection.

He's been robbed on the job.

Lucky for us, he was so cautious.

It would have made me very unhappy...

for a thief to have robbed him of our ransom
before he was able to deliver it to us.

- Get rid of him.
- Right.

And hurry.

Nice toy, huh?

The transmitting device in the g*n
has been activated.

I see Hannibal got
the homing device planted.

Now, all we got to do
is follow the bouncing ball.

In the past, it's always worried me
when he said it...

but this is one time he was right.

This job is gonna be a piece of cake.

Is everything all right? Can I go now?

Hannibal!

- I guess that bulletproof vest did work.
- Where could Hannibal be?

- He placed the homer. Where could he...
- You don't think...

Why does he do this to me?

Hey, my friends, not a bad start
for the GLA, huh?

What do you say, Tony?

There you go.

Just ahead, B.A.

You better slow down
or we're gonna wind up in their trunk.

All Hannibal had to do was plant the homer
and take a slug in the vest.

Why would he change the plan
all of a sudden?

I don't know if he did change it
or if he just didn't tell us in the first place.

I knew he was on the jazz all the time.
Man, I just knew it.

The Colonel really bends my mind
out of shape, you know?

If your mind was bent out of shape,
it'd be straight, fool.

Slow down B.A.

We're catching them in an awful hurry here
or they must have stopped.

Take over for Kathryn on watch
and tell her I want to see her.

Tony, you take the south cliff
and cover it, all right?

Just a minute.

You wasted him. It's yours.

Hannibal expects us to take out
the perimeter guards...

and rendezvous in 10 minutes.

- B.A.!
- Hey, sucker.

Over here!

No smoking.

- So how did it go?
- The way it was supposed to.

Ramon wants to see you. I guess
he wants to fill you in personally.

How's our little girl doing?

Fine, till a few minutes ago.
Marcus showed up with her breakfast.

- Hasn't come out yet.
- No kidding.

You're a real pig. You know that, Strickland?

You're a real snow cone
for such a hot mama.

Don't you even dream about it.

Leave me alone. Don't touch me!

Get away from me!

Marcus, at least keep her quiet.

It's hazardous for your health.

- Come on.
- Let go of me!

Look, lady.
I know what you've been through.

- But I don't have time to explain.
- Stay away from me!

My friends and I
have come here to rescue you.

Do you want me to push?
Then come along quietly.

Don't make this harder than it is.

B.A., we'll pick you up on the way back.

This should buy plenty of munitions
for our next cause.

Yeah, and leave plenty over
for a long vacation in Rio.

Hold it right there.

I mean, hold it.
Put your arms around each other.

I'm very fond of lovers' embraces.

I'm sorry to interrupt the celebration,
but this money was just on loan.

- Who are you?
- Friends of Mr. Teasdale...

sent to retrieve his daughter
and return the money.

Now, I'd like to stay and chat,
but that's the kind of foolishness...

- Let go of me!
- I see you ran into my friends.

Miss Teasdale, they're with me.
Good night, Miss Teasdale.

Piece of cake, huh?

- What's the static from here?
- Shouldn't be any, Colonel.

We took care
of the perimeter guard.

How's B.A.?

Murdock, give me a hand. Get her up.
Face, give me some cover.

Now!

Nice, B.A.

Atta boy.

He told me he was interested in food.
I didn't believe him till now.

Come on,
you're gonna be okay, big guy.

Get him around!

Up with the leg.

Come and get it!

How're we doing, guys?

I'm definitely gonna have to get
my ribs taped.

I think that moose broke my nose.

B.A.?

You should see the other guy.

- What'd I tell you, Face?
- What'd you tell me?

I'll tell you what you told me.
"This is gonna go down smooth, Face.

"A piece of cake, Face.

"Just a couple of g*ons
with some camouflage paint...

"who call themselves a t*rror1st group, Face.

"In and out. One, two, three,
with the girl and the money.

"No muss, no fuss."

- Right.
- Right.

I think I got a busted nose.

Murdock's lost some ribs.
B.A.'s lost all his marbles. And...

a very big "and" I might say...

we lost the money.

We were supposed to come back
with the money.

Oh, great. The entire t*rror1st army
is on our tail and we're out of gas.

Well, look at it this way, Face.

If we hit rock bottom now
the only place we can go is up.

You're going to let me go now
or I'm going to blow you all away.

This is up?

Miss Teasdale,
I've heard you're a bit of a loon.

But you really jump
the double yellow line with this.

I have to get back to the compound.

Hey, man, we ain't going nowhere.
They hit the gas t*nk.

- I have to get back!
- All you have to do is stand right there...

and those guys will find you.

It won't take them that long to mobilise.

I've heard about cases like these...

where the victim is assimilated
into the group...

and then becomes sympathetic
with the kidnapper's cause.

You better give me the g*n.

- Oh, sh**t.
- I'm sorry.

That's just a homing transmitter.

You have no idea what you've done.
You've ruined everything.

You haven't made things
all easy for us, either.

We were hired to rescue you
from these creeps.

Your father paid a huge ransom.
He's concerned about your welfare.

Yeah, right.

I don't know
what family problems you have...

but our job is to deliver you home safely.

Which we intend to do,
with or without your cooperation.

- But they'll k*ll Marcus.
- Oh, no.

Who's Marcus?

He was with me when you guys came
and pulled me out of there.

I don't want anything to happen to him.

You mean, the guy that had you on the cot
and ripped your dress?

You're worried about him?

This story's getting too far out, even for me.

It was just a show.

We heard somebody coming and we thought
it might be one of the others.

We didn't want anybody to find out.

Find out what?

That Marcus and I love each other.

Why don't we get the van out of sight
before they spot it? And then...

we'll all try and get our oars in the water...

and we'll all try to stroke in unison.

I'll take the wheel.

Okay, guys. Push!

They will not, I repeat, not get away.

I can't afford to strike camp now.

We've got three teams out
covering this entire area here.

They were in a van so they can't handle
any of the off-roading...

which limits their possible routes.

They obviously didn't know
the type of terrain they would encounter.

Which makes me wonder,
just how they located us in the first place.

- Somehow during the ransom pickup.
- Yes. Somehow.

Too bad you were too busy
to have interfered with that att*ck.

- I don't need...
- Enough, both of you!

I want everyone assembled here in an hour
whether they're found or not.

I'll take one of the jeeps
and cover the northern quadrant.

You will stay right here, my friend...

where you can be watched.

You want us to go and rescue
one of your kidnappers...

from your other kidnappers?

This is getting better by the moment.

He is not a kidnapper.

Marcus was my boyfriend
before this whole thing went down.

Yeah, sure. He was a member of the GLA.

He believed in their philosophies.

Their leader, Ramon, duped him
into bringing me along for the weekend...

to see if I might understand
what they stood for.

The next thing I knew, Ramon had me
under lock and key...

and the ransom demand went out.

Fathers get upset when their daughters
are only taken to a drive-in.

What did you do?
Win this date on some TV game show?

Jennifer, you've just won
an all expenses paid...

kidnapping with the t*rror1st of your choice.

They used Marcus as a pawn.

He just continued to play along with them...

once he realised
the kind of fanatic he was dealing with.

Look.

Ramon was already beginning to
suspect something.

He's going to think
that Marcus helped me escape.

Now, there's no telling
what they're gonna do to him.

You have to get him out of there.

Lady, all we care about
is getting you back to your father.

- My father doesn't care about me.
- Look, lady...

he went through an awful lot of trouble
and a lot of money, to get us to find you.

Of course he did. What else is he gonna do?

He can't have people thinking
that a big tycoon like Warren Teasdale...

wasn't going to ransom his daughter back.

Just wait until he finds out
that you guys didn't get the ransom back.

I'm sure your father could care less
about the ransom money...

once he finds out that his only daughter
is safe and sound.

What the hell do you mean,
you lost the money?

- All of it?
- Well, yeah, it was all in the briefcase.

$500,000. You lost $500,000!

That was what you gave us.
That was what the kidnappers took.

Yeah, I'd say we lost $500,000. But...

- we did get you your daughter back.
- You said the money was just bait.

The only reason I agreed to turn it over
was because...

Smith said he would guarantee it personally.

Yeah, you'd be surprised
at the unexpected turns...

one runs into in the field.

I loaned you my money as a tool
to retrieve my daughter.

You lost it.

Since the amount of cash lost
exceeds our negotiated fee...

I'm holding you all responsible
for the difference.

Wait, we pulled this off
and we owe you money?

You provided a sloppy service.

And you're facing a legitimate penalty
for such.

A business agreement
is a business agreement.

Thank you for getting my daughter back.

Tell her I can't wait to see her.

And you don't want to go home.

We got them now.

You stay on their tail. Don't lose them.

I'll catch up with you later. I'll run back
and call for some backup.

They're on foot so they can't be far ahead.

I'll bring a radio and we'll contact you
as soon as we've sighted them.

Out.

David.

David!

David, are you all right?

Say, Murdock...

- you look kind of nice in that outfit.
- Thank you, Colonel.

Come on, Hannibal.

You don't intend to go back there?
Those guys are expecting us.

They're looking for us out here,
not expecting us back there.

Big difference.

Sneaking back into a w*r zone
with the same plan a second time is insane.

It's brilliant.

They'll never think
we're crazy enough to do it.

I mean, they see the abandoned van.
They automatically assume we're on foot.

Never think to look inside.

Everybody thinks that the best plans
are the most elaborate ones. They're not.

- You're really going to go back?
- Yes, ma'am.

My dear, I'd hate to go through
this whole thing for nothing.

Our payment is back there.

Come on, Hannibal.
You wanna go back there and get Marcus.

- Why don't you just admit it?
- You're so romantic, Colonel.

- And you're so crazy, fool.
- Yeah.

I don't suppose we'd be lucky enough...

that one of these guys here is Romeo?

No, I didn't think so.

I just hope he appreciates
what we're going through for him.

- Come on, guys, it's gonna be...
- A piece of cake.

Ramon!

- Well?
- There's still no word.

I thought Strickland found them.

He followed them but he lost it
about 2 miles from the vehicle.

He radioed a short while ago.
He should be back any time now.

You don't seem too concerned
the girl got away.

What can I do more than anyone else?

We've got to move quickly.

If the girl heard about our plans...

The men are all assembled.

Except for David and Strickland.

I left word with the guard to have them
report to the briefing upon their return.

Hold it, right there.

Now you see...

this is why you don't have
as many visitors...

- as the t*rrorists up the road do.
- Hey.

Just bring your hands up off the wheel,
nice and easy.

I can't. He's says
I should keep them where they are.

Strickland, I didn't see you. Where's David?

He's in the back.

This ought to take some of the pressure off.

Ramon's been crazed
since these guys got away.

Is he gonna be glad to see you're back.

You think?

D Unit, under Dillon's command...

will launch the att*ck
and take out the perimeter guard.

Once we have penetrated the second level...

Laura and Strickland
will eliminate the inner security.

All right, Kathryn...

and Marcus will place and activate
the device.

First you have to shut down
the main generator.

In order to do that you will have to
gain access to this area here.

See, B.A.?

I told you.
They got everything we need.

All we gotta do is find lover boy
and get out of here.

That's the easy part.

Perfect.

There ain't nothing easy about this mission
since the day we started.

Find a way to anchor the rope and then wait.

Yeah, man.

There are a couple little glitches
in every plan.

But from here on, it's open road.

- Think positive.
- Think positive.

Not again.

All right, you all know
your assignments.

There must be...

there will be...

no attempt at abort on this mission.

Failure won't be a setback.
It will mean total annihilation.

Its success is necessary if the GLA is to be...

All right, everybody put their weapons
on the ground.

Face.

Do it.

Now, kick them away from you,
nice and easy.

I hope this little prayer meeting isn't over.

My brothers and I want to repent.

Amen, brother!

You're all dead men.

Really? I didn't think I'd feel this good
after I was dead.

I want to thank you all for coming
to the funeral.

You'll never make it out of here alive.

What makes you think...

we're gonna leave you alive this time, curly?

The last time I was here I didn't tell you
my opinion of kidnappers.

It's down there at the bottom of the swamp.

You! Over here!

Come on.

We got something special for you, Marcus.

Courtesy of Big Daddy Teasdale.

I don't think he liked you
dragging his daughter off...

to this little weekend seminar.

What are you going to do to me?

Use your imagination.
Or you can borrow mine.

This looks familiar.

You don't mind if I relieve you
of your excess baggage, do you?

You wouldn't want to be overburdened
when you checked into the county cooker.

Okay, brothers
and sisters. I want you to reach out.

I want you to reach out to me,
Brother Murdock.

'Cause we're gonna tie your little hands
and leave you for the local fuzz to pick up.

Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

It's a miracle
and I do believe I spot some rope.

Brother Marcus, will you do us the honor
and obtain it?

Right down to the last rubber band.

- You got the keys to the Bronco?
- I got them.

I told you this would be a piece of cake.

Freeze, everybody!

Okay, now you, cover the perimeter fence.

Mobilise all the vehicles.
They will not get away this time!

k*ll them! k*ll them all!

We'll all be k*lled.

Face, you may not believe this...

but if we hang around here long
and they catch us here, we'll all be k*lled.

I'm glad Jenny's okay.
I can't believe you guys came back for me.

You can't?

Face, they're gonna find out any minute
we didn't go out the front gate.

- I'm not worried. Are you guys worried?
- Heck, no.

- Why should we?
- A piece of cake.

I can't believe they got back in again!

How could you let them through?

They had Strickland and David.

As long as they don't get back off
the grounds.

They're to be stopped. No matter what.

No matter who they have with them,
this time. Is that understood?

You heard my second in command.

Ramon!

They found something you should see.

They never intended to take the Bronco.

They're heading for the north cliff.

Your Colonel Smith.

As long as there's g*nf*re, we know
he's still alive for them to be sh**ting at.

What do we do now?

- We proceed on schedule.
- What if Marcus tells them what he knows?

There is no way
that they could get reinforcements...

and be at the dam before we're gone.

That means that it would just be
the four of them again.

And that would be too bad for them.

You made it.

- Honey, I was so worried about you.
- Me, too, girl.

But you should have gotten out of here.
Not let them come back for me.

We stand for truth, justice
and the American way.

And if that means the kidnapper
gets the girl...

well, we'll make that happen, too.

- Even if it kills us.
- You guys are incredible.

I can't believe that you actually did it.

Neither can I.

We lost our wheels...

B.A. did 15 rounds with Godzilla.

Hannibal did a 20-story high dive.

We had our raft blown out from under us...

and we still managed to save the girl,
her boyfriend and...

retrieve the money.

Now, all you've got to do is stop them
from blowing up that dam.

Dam?

I want to cry.

Come on, move it up.

Darn, let's go. Come on.

They're on their way.

I'll lock the gate and start the party.

You know...

I'm getting to love this bulletproof vest.

This one here, it looks like
it's just about your size.

It's not exactly my idea
of what a well-dressed t*rror1st should wear.

I'm gonna go get my g*n.

Then I'll catch you on the flip side.

I'll go up to the catwalk over there
and locate the second guard.

Where am I supposed to go?

- Who are you?
- You'd never believe it.

Neat surprise, huh?

Put your g*ns down.
Put them down.

Now move it.

Put your weapons down.

Get against the wall.

You've got to be kidding.
My men are all over this place.

Wrong.

You had three on C level,
two by the sluice gates...

and, if I'm not mistaken...

here come the ones who were supposed to
take out interior security.

Just like sh**ting pool, you take your time
and sink each ball.

You forgot about this.

It's set and you can't stop it.

You've got less than 90 seconds.

You're too late.

She's right. It's ticking.

Face, Murdock, take care of them.

Never-ending madness.

What are you? A couple of fruit flies?
There are places for people like you.

It's the b*mb.

I owe you people a great deal
for saving my daughter.

I owe you even more.

Marcus got a suspended sentence
and we can keep on seeing each other.

That t*rror1st will never get a job.

My daughter doesn't have a dime.
She'll do as I say.

You shouldn't be too unhappy,
Mr. Teasdale, after all...

all the rest of the t*rrorists are turning into
sharp cheddar cheese in jail.

And Jennifer here can see Marcus
under more normal conditions.

Fair's fair in love and w*r and all that stuff.

None of which tells me
where the money I entrusted to you went.

You people are supposed to have answers.

We can't pull a rabbit out of the hat,
if the rabbit's jumped out of it.

But it is ironic...

that we brought
your daughter home safely...

and you told us we did a sloppy job
and wouldn't get paid.

And now, we can't find the money anywhere.

It's real strange.

You have a definite payment coming.

Anytime now.

Sounds like the first installment.

I figured you'd do something like this.

- That's Decker out there.
- Sure is.

We got to pop a brodie and get moving.

They'll never catch us, Mr. Teasdale.
And just so you know...

we're like socks.

You can put us through a rough wash once,
but you'll never use us again.

- Good luck, Jennifer.
- Thanks.

You think he knows we put
the beans in the bank under her name?

- Minus our modest fee.
- Very modest.

She probably did.

Just to pay him back,
for turning us in after we saved her life.

This is almost perfect justice for him.

Almost as if I planned it.

Didn't you?
