Post by bunniefuu »

- I'’ve made a decision.

- Oh, me too.

I am done eating corn dogs.

You know, I always think I'’m gonna like them,

but then I get the breading stuck in my teeth--

- I think...

No...

I know I can bring my mom back.

I don'’t care what it takes.

I'’m going to do it.

- I--I don'’t understand-- - Which part?

- The part where you think you can do that.

Em, you can'’t.

- I can!

I mean, I still have

to fine-tune the spell, but--

- No, I know you "can" like, "physically able."

I meant you shouldn'’t.

- When did Andi turn into such a wimp?

It used to be,

"Use your powers and give me wings."

"Use your powers and give Maddie an atomic wedgie."

Now you'’re all...

"Emma, don'’t use your powers, could be dangerous!"

- Wha--okay.

First of all, I do not sound like that.

And second of all, I'’m not turning into a wimp;

I'’m just getting smarter,

learning from my past mistakes.

- I can'’t believe you'’re not excited about this.

This is my mother! - I know, Em, but...

messing with the universe like that?

- The universe messed with me first!

By taking her away from me.

I'’m just making things right.

You don'’t understand.

Because you have a mom.

- No, Em, I get it.

Look, I really do.

But you'’re trying to go beyond what any person should do,

even a super-powerful witch.

- So...you'’re not going to help me?

- I'’m sorry, Emma.

I'’m not.

- Fine.

But don'’t try to stop me.

- Emma...

- Either you'’re with me or against me.

- Okay, I think somebody has been playing

"Galactic Warmongers " too much

because they say that in Level--

- You don'’t want to find out how I deal

with people who go against me.

- Is that a thr*at?

- Maybe.

- Well, "maybe" you should take that back.

- Fine.

It wasn'’t "maybe" a thr*at.

It definitely was.

- Oh, really?

And what are you gonna do, tele-transport me?

Please try, because I'’d love to take a dip in the pool.

She'’s a Kanay.

Maybe she knows something about your, uh, tribe.

- Hey, Hexy.

Look, I really need to talk to you.

Not now, Hex.

I'’m serious!

I'’m sorry, Hex, I really want to play with you too,

but I have something really important to talk to you about.

It'’s Emma.

Haven'’t you noticed she'’s been acting a little

Well, she'’s planning on doing something very dangerous.

She could hurt herself, and the Realm,

- Like someone disappearing from existence--

- Already almost happened.

With Daniel, but I prevented it.

- Or the whole course of history could be changed,

especially if someone with your kind of power is involved.

- You'’re right.

- I am?

- I am powerful,

which means you don'’t get to tell me what to do.

- Well, I'’m trying to look out for you.

That'’s what a Guardian does.

- It was nice of your father

to install this anti-wizard alarm system.

It'’s kind of ironic we have to use it against him.

- Why do we even need the system

if we have Emma'’s protective bubble?

- Well, just to be extra safe.

Your father can be pretty crafty.

- Like I said, this switch here arms and disarms the system.

[beeping] Up is off and down is on.

- Okay. My brilliant man.

- [chuckles]

All right, I'’m gonna go upstairs now

You'’re gonna rip a page.

I still can'’t get over the nerve of Andi.

Trying to turn you against me.

Who does she think she is?

[grunts] Hex, come on.

I'’m not in the mood to play.

You'’re taking her side, aren'’t you?

I knew I shouldn'’t have let you

sleep over there so many times!

Who needs you, anyway?

There are plenty of other books in the sea...

Fish on the shelves...

Other ways to do this!

- Okay, what do you think of this...with these boots?

Or these boots?

- Mm, definitely the first pair.

- Matches so much better.

- Proxy, could you get me another suitcase?

- Maddie, you don'’t need all this stuff.

We'’re literally gonna tele-transport there and back.

We probably won'’t even be longer than an hour.

- [gasps] An hour?

I'’m gonna need to pack three more snowsuits.

- Vero Beach has the same temperature as Miami.

It'’s only miles north.

- Well, technically, the humidity is cooler and it--

Just saying.

- But I get cold easily.

- Maddie Winky?

- Yes, Mother?

- You have a visitor.

- So there'’s no official title,

just "leader of the Van Pelt coven."

But I'’m thinking of creating one.

[clears throat]

Countess Van Pelt?

Grand Duchess Van Pelt?

Oh! How about Supreme Leader Van Pelt?

- Maddie!

I am so happy to see you!

ALL: You are?

- Yeah...

I mean, we are friends now, right?

After everything we'’ve been through this summer?

- Hmm.

"Friends" is kind of a strong word.

More like "not mortal enemies."

- Works for me!

Anyway, wondering if I could borrow some books.

- What books?

- Oh, nothing special.

Just some of your magic books.

I remember you guys have quite a collection.

- Oh, we do.

We have magic history, magic politics...

magic fashion--

- There'’s magic fashion books?

- Those are the most important ones.

- I was thinking books on spells.

- Oh! Magic science.

- Mm-hmm.

- Why do you want a spell book?

Don'’t you have the His-or-Her-en?

- Yes...

But I like to mix it up.

Keep things fresh.

- Well, what types of spells are you interested in?

- Oh, all kinds: transportation, alchemy,

material transmutation...

time manipulation.

BOTH: Time manipulation?

- Time manipulation?

- Mm-hmm.

- [whispers] What is that?

- I think she means going forward or backward in time.

But the last time you messed with time,

you caused the Continuum Break.

- Ugh...that was the worst!

Having to pretend Daniel was my boyfriend.

For days!

- Can I get those books or what?

- Emma, I'’m so sorry.

I can'’t.

Time manipulation is forbidden.

- You'’re turning down the Chosen One?

Big mistake.

Don'’t think I'’ll forget this...

Supreme Leader of the Van Pelt coven.

[dramatic music]

First Andi, then Maddie and her mom?

Why is everyone against me? - They--

- And I can'’t believe Andi got to the Hex.

I knew I shouldn'’t have let them hang out so much.

- It'’s-- - The Hex is my book!

It'’s supposed to help me!

And my magic has gotten super strong,

but there'’s still a ton I don'’t know.

I can'’t do this without Hex.

JAX: Well, I don'’t have any magic books here.

I could go to my dad'’s office,

but that'’s pretty risky right now.

- What are you doing? [gasps]

Are you spying?

- Me spying? Of course not!

I was just...cleaning.

- Come on, Mom.

If you have gossip, you better share it.

- All right.

So Emma and Andi had this big fight

about something called the Hex?

- I know the Hex!

It'’s a magic book. It'’s my friend.

- Oh, well, Emma thinks Andi turned this book against her,

and she is really mad about it.

- But Emma'’s the Chosen One.

The Hex belongs to her.

- Seems the Hex chose Andi in this argument.

- It did? Ooh, that Andi!

I should take the Hex from her

and fill her backpack with gumballs again.

- You what?

- Oh, nothing.

[tense music]

- Hi, guys.

There you are.

You need a good dusting.

So what'’s going on?

- Oh, nothing, we'’re just talking.

- You both look so serious.

I hope everything'’s okay.

- It is. It'’s just some magic stuff

we'’re trying to figure out.

- Ah, magic.

Well, I don'’t know anything about that.

But if you need some help,

you should look in Jax'’s father'’s library.

There'’s all those great books in there.

Maybe one of them can help you.

- Oh, no, there'’s nothing in there.

I'’ve read all the books.

They'’re mostly about economics and gardening.

- You'’ve read all your dad'’s books?

- Well, yeah, I like to read. [chuckles nervously]

Okay, maybe I didn'’t read any of them at all.

He used to just hide things in there

that he didn'’t want me to find.

Figured it'’d be the last place I'’d look.

- Well, maybe you should look again.

Maybe you missed something.

Worst case, you'’ll learn a thing or two

about gardening.

- What have we got to lose?

- Knock yourself out. [chuckles]

[pop music]

- Wha--what'’s this?

- The warning.

Anybody who orders "The Dumpster"

is required to read it before eating--restaurant policy.

- Ooh, I get a free T-shirt if I finish the whole thing?

- Yeah, no one'’s ever won the shirt.

Now, can you hurry up? My arms are getting tired!

We'’ve got a Dumpster contestant here!

- Whoa, whoa, Gigi, what gives?

- It'’s part of the whole thing.

It was on the warning card.

[electronic music]

- That'’s for what you did.

- Oh...no...you did not!

Wait, what did you think I did?

- You turned the Hex against Emma!

- Wha--shh, keep it down!

- You'’re just jealous because Emma is an amazing witch

and you'’re just a lame human with even lamer shoes.

- Wha--hey.

These shoes are b*mb.

- Okay, they'’re kinda cool.

But you'’re still a jealous, lame human!

- [sighs] Okay...

[clears throat] Look, Jessie,

there'’s still a lot you don'’t understand, okay?

So I'’m gonna get cleaned up,

and I'’ll explain everything to you.

But meanwhile, sit down.

Eat some ice cream.

- Really?

- Really.

- Why are you being so nice?

- Well, Jessie, because you'’re so young and naive,

and I'’m wise and mature.

- [gasps]

- Not that mature. [chuckles]

- We'’ve got a Dumpster contestant here!

There you go.

- [chuckling] Oh!

Look.

My old hand-cannon.

Oh...I wondered where this thing went.

I broke so many vases with this--

So many windows, so many plates.

[chuckles] Good times.

- [chuckles] You weren'’t kidding

about your father'’s taste in literature.

"How to be a Wizard of Wall Street."

"Stock Market Sorcery."

"Growing Majestic."

"Magical Plants."

- [chuckles]

- What'’s this?

[foreboding music]

- Whoa...

How did I miss that?

"Conjure-Pedia"?

- [chuckles]

I think I'’m in business.

[upbeat music]

- Did you find anything to help you?

- Did I ever! Thanks for your help.

You'’re a lifesaver.

Aww, you'’re still mad at me?

Too bad! I don'’t need you anyway, traitor!

Hey!

Leave my new favorite book alone.

I don'’t care what you think.

In fact, why don'’t you go find your friend Andi?

You two can hang out

and talk about me behind my back all you want.

[sighs]

[knocking]

Nope! Too late!

Don'’t wanna see any of your "I'’m sorry" page flips.

[knocking]

Oh.

- Hey, Em.

- What are you doing here?

- Oh, I was just checking in

to see how you were doing with getting me back home.

Looks like you'’re working on it.

- What?

- You and Hex are trying to find a way.

- Oh...uh, yeah.

Hexy and I are digging into it.

- Thanks, Hex.

Is something wrong with Hex?

- Uh, he'’s just...tired.

We'’ve been working all day

to find something to help you.

- Hmm. - Right, Hex?

See? So tired.

- Well, I'’d better let you get back to it.

- Mm-hmm. - Uh, thank you.

- So...

- Both my parents were Churi Kanays,

but we didn'’t see relatives very much.

- What about your cousins? The ones that live here.

- They'’re not Kanays.

They must not have inherited the genes.

- Just think. Are there any other Kanays?

But, uh, can we get back to America now?

- There'’s no reason to be sorry, because I'’m not giving up.

We may not know of other Kanays right now,

but they'’re out there somewhere

and I'’m gonna find them.

- And I'’ll go with you.

- [sighs]
