- Dad told me that Mom'’s a witch.

- What? That'’s ridiculous.

Mom'’s not a witch.

- I know, but what if she is?

- Then she'’s been lying to me

for as long as I'’ve known her.

- Well, somebody'’s not telling the truth.

I just don'’t know which one it is.

- I don'’t know.

I do know!

We get them in a room together

and ask them both, face-to-face.

- In a room together...

face-to-face.

Brilliant!

- No. Gifted, yes.

But brilliant? Okay, probably.

- Not you. Me.

- Okay, let'’s see that report card, big talker.

- I know which one of them is lying!

- Don'’t leave me hanging. Who?

- Mom.

- How do you know it'’s Mom?

- "How do you know it'’s Mom," what?

- What?

- Well, you said,

"How do you know it'’s Mom?"

How do you know I'’m what?

- Uh, she didn'’t say,

"How do you know it'’s Mom?"

She said, "What do you know?

It'’s Mom!"

- Right! Because I saw you coming in.

- Ah.

Well, then, what do you know?

It'’s me!

And do you know what else I know?

It'’s Jessie'’s bedtime!

Go on, upstairs.

Wash that face and brush those teeth.

- What?

It'’s only : .

Babies don'’t even go to sleep at : .

- The experts agree.

-year-olds need hours of sleep every night.

- Why?

- Because their mothers say so.

- Okay, Mom.

- Oh. Bye.

- I'’m gonna get to school early.

- Okay.

[tense music]

You know what?

It is recess time.

- What, really?

- But just a quick recess.

I want to lie down for a few minutes.

I didn'’t sleep so well last night.

But when I get back, it'’s animal science time.

- Eat this, you pesky penguins!

- Shh.

- I thought you went to school.

- Do you remember when you said that

we should get them in a room together?

Well, they were in a room together,

when Dad was stuck in a trap.

- Yeah, so?

Why didn'’t he say anything about Mom?

- Because he couldn'’t.

He was trying to explain it to us,

but he just couldn'’t talk.

- Isn'’t that part of the trap?

- No, I'’ve been in those things so many times before--

- Really?

Even more than the ones in the house?

- Yeah. I mean, I used to be a little bit of a rebel.

- Cool!

- Yeah, it was.

I mean, no.

That'’s not the point.

The point is, is that

when you'’re in one of those traps,

you can'’t cast spells,

you can'’t move,

but you can talk.

- So what are you saying?

- That Mom cast a spell on him to keep him quiet.

She just doesn'’t want him to bust her.

And then she asked Emma to cast a Protective Bubble

around our house?

How does she even know what that is?

- Maybe she heard the Van Pelts talking about it.

They seem like bubble people.

- Has Mom told you the story

of when she ran away from home in the middle of the night?

- Yeah, she tried to bring the both of us,

but you woke Dad up.

- Right, but she still had enough time

to get you out of the house,

into the garage, load up the car,

and then get you out of the garage

before Dad even did anything about it?

When all he had to do was cast a spell?

- Yeah, but I still don'’t think--

- I never said anything about taking the car.

I could have had a taxi waiting.

But you'’re right.

Getting out of the house would'’ve been

quite difficult for me if I wasn'’t a witch.

- Mom! So it'’s true?

Are you really a witch?

- Well, you suspect I am.

So, yes.

Yes, I am.

- Have any of you heard from Daniel?

He'’s supposed to be here by now,

but he'’s not answering any of my texts.

- No, not since last night.

- Don'’t worry, guys. He'’ll be here.

- [groaning]

- What happened to him?

- He had a little trouble with riding.

- A motorcycle?

A bike? A horse?

- In a car.

- I do not understand what I did wrong.

I simply opened the door

and stepped out.

- I already told you.

You have to wait for the car to stop.

- So many details to remember!

- Guys, she'’s coming!

- Everybody hide!

[playful music]

- What are you all doing here?

What is this?

- Surprise!

- Sophie, this is not a birthday party.

- I know.

- A Witcher-Ven...

What are you doing?

- We'’re not letting you leave

until you listen to what we have to say.

- Heh, and you'’re gonna stop me?

- Not just me.

- Me too.

- And us.

- Us, too!

- And me!

In spirit.

- Are you really a witch?

- I am.

- Prove it.

Oh, this is the greatest news ever!

- What?

That our mom has been lying to us this whole time?

How exactly is that great news?

- If Mom was a human, I would have a / chance

of not getting my powers.

But she'’s a witch, and Dad'’s a wizard.

I'’m full witch!

Bring on the powers, baby!

- You are most definitely % witch.

And when you get your powers,

you'’ll be as powerful as any witch alive,

even the Chosen One.

- Hear that?

I'’m gonna be a lean, mean magic machine!

- But why were you hiding all of this?

- I ran into a little trouble with those wet blankets

on the Council a while back.

You know how they can be.

- Yeah.

- Well, I thought I oughta lie low for a while.

I was going to tell you everything

when Jessie got her powers,

but then she ran off and found you.

And with everything going on with the Chosen One,

it'’s best you know now.

- What has any of this got to do with Emma?

- Don'’t make me do something

I can'’t take back.

- And are you gonna be able to live with

whatever you'’re gonna do?

- Come on, Emma. We'’re all friends here.

- Or friends...

Ish.

- Emma, please.

No one here is against you.

We all have your best interests at heart.

- Hey, we'’ve helped you

this whole time with the Daniel thing.

- Plus, we got you a cake!

Well, / of a cake.

I got hungry on the way over.

- All we ask is that you just sit down

and listen to us talk.

Afterwards, if you still want to turn back time,

we won'’t stand in your way.

- And everyone agrees to this?

I listen, and then I can go?

Let'’s get this over with.

[tense music]

- All right.

Who wants to go first?

All right.

Sophie...

the floor is yours.

- [clears throat]

"Dear Emma, you'’re outta control

"and need to simmer down with the magic.

X-O-X-O, Sophie."

- Hmm, this is going to be an interesting morning.

- What has any of this got to do with Emma?

- Her days as the Chosen One are numbered.

When she'’s gone, there'’ll be a vacuum

at the center of the Realm.

Control of it will go to the strongest family.

That will be us.

- What do you mean, her days are numbered?

What are you planning?

This is my girlfriend we'’re talking about.

- And my friend-friend.

- She'’s doing most of it all by herself,

and soon it will be done.

I only need to know if you'’re on board.

- But I care about Emma.

I can'’t just abandon her, Mom.

- She is too dangerous, Jax.

She'’ll destroy herself and everyone around her,

which means you and your family.

We can rule, as a family.

A lot will rest on your shoulders, Jax,

especially until Jessie gets her powers.

So?

What do you say?

[gentle piano music]

- I'’m on board.

I always knew I was destined for greatness.

- Jax, no! - Jessie, please.

You'’ll understand why this is the right decision soon enough.

- "Eye-nerd-ee-uh"?

[gasps]

Is that the disease that Emma has

that'’s making her act so crazy?

- No, "inertia."

It'’s like when you'’re in a car,

and somebody slams on the brakes,

and everyone inside keeps moving.

- Ooh!

I love that feeling!

- Okay, a car only goes, say, miles per hour.

And the Earth is moving , miles per hour.

Emma, if you try to spin it backwards,

everything will be destroyed.

Proven by science.

[laughs]

Drop the mic!

- Oh, okay.

Thank you, Katie.

Uh, now...Aggie.

- Being the Chosen One

comes with more than just great power.

It comes with great responsibility.

You seem to have forgotten that,

but I don'’t blame you.

- You don'’t?

- I blame those who think only of themselves,

who think not of a greater duty.

The destructive humans!

- Hold on there, buster, you cannot pin this on people.

Emma'’s doing magic stuff.

Back me up, humans.

- Inertia!

- Oh, come on.

Pick up.

- Calling Emma?

- Um, what? No.

Why would I do that?

- Hmm.

Now tell me again.

Who were you calling?

- Emma. I had to tell her.

- Tell her what?

- About the plan.

I had to warn her.

[sighs]

The book-- the Conjurepedia,

the Tambian Orb, they were all part of your plan, weren'’t they?

- Very good, Jax.

You got your father'’s good looks,

but you got my brains.

- How are you gonna overthrow her?

- There'’s only way I can defeat the Chosen One.

If she'’s powerless,

as she'’ll be when she places her powers

in the Tambian Orb.

- Wait, the Orb can'’t even turn back time?

- Of course it can,

but Emma won'’t get a chance.

By then, her powers and those she stole

will all be mine.

You have a very important decision

to make, Jax.

Will you join me?

You'’ll be a king of your people.

- No, never.

- Well, doesn'’t matter.

I was only being nice when I offered

to let you rule with Jessie.

Everyone knows it'’s truly the witches who are in charge.

Jessie! Come back!

- Look at my face.

What do you see?

- Maddie?

- Closer!

Under my eyes.

Bags.

This is the face of someone who doesn'’t have the power

to make herself look fresh and well-rested at all times.

- I should'’ve chosen a select few to talk.

- And I don'’t have that power because you stole it from me!

- You know, you could just actually be well-rested.

- But...

Okay, that'’s not the point!

You stole my powers.

Now give them back!

- I will, Maddie.

I promise.

Just not yet.

- [exasperated sigh]

- Okay, so are we about done here?

I'’ve got a mom to bring back.

- Wait.

There'’s one more person left.

- Go ahead.

- Emma, I'’ve thought a lot about this,

and I get it.

I get why you wanna bring your mom back.

And nothing any of us say

can change that feeling inside you.

- Finally!

You get it.

- But let'’s say you succeed

and you don'’t destroy the world or yourself.

What happens next?

- I'’ll have a mom again.

Like you do.

Like you all do.

- For how long?

She'’s still gonna get sick,

and you and your dad

are gonna have to go through it all over again.

Your mom'’s gonna have to go through it again too.

- [sniffles]

- Is it really worth it?

- I... [sobs]

I don'’t know.

- Sorry I'’m late.

- Where have you been?

- I was just thinking...

Did I miss it?

- There'’s still some Danishes left.

- So Emma...

Do you know what you'’re gonna do?

- [sighs]

I thought I did, but now I'’m not so sure.

You'’ve...

given me something to think about.

- Do you want to say something?

- I do, actually.

- Remember, hammer it home.

- Emma...

You know how much I would give

to have my life back at the Everglades.

[all groaning] - Is this necessary?

- Man, seriously? - Seriously?

- [sighs]

Seriously, the Everglades?

- You know how much I miss that life,

so I can only imagine how much you miss your mom.

And how can I think it'’s okay for you

to alter time and space to make me happy,

but not do the same for yourself?

- Ooh, boy, would you look at the time?

Hey, does anybody have a first period class?

'’Cause I know I do.

- Let him finish.

- None of us can tell you what to do.

You have to do what you think is right.

- You call that "hammering it home"?

You know what, you are officially off

of my Witcher-Ventions invite list.

- Well, I'’ve made up my mind.

- And?

- I'’m doing it.

- Yay!

You go, girl!

- Sophie, no.

We don'’t want her to do it.

Oh...

Boo!

You no go, girl.

[upbeat music]

- Jessie!

Jessie, where are you?

We need to talk!

[groans]

[playful music]

Jessie, I am serious.

We do not have time for games.

Please come out.

[dramatic music]

Huh.

You might be good at hiding,

but not as good as I am at finding!

Ugh!

- Come on, Jax.

[phone ringing]

- Hello? - Hello?

Liana? It'’s me.

- Oh, Emma. How are you?

- Fine. Is Jax there?

- I'’m afraid he can'’t come to the phone right now.

- Oh.

Well, do you know when he'’ll be free?

- I'’m afraid not; he'’s a bit...

preoccupied at the moment.

- Could you give Jax a message?

- Is something wrong, dear?

You sound agitated.

[mischievous music]

- Tell him to come to my house as soon as possible.

Tell him it'’s starting,

and I really want him to be here with me.

- That sounds very serious.

- Yeah, it'’s this whole interactive map

with sliding landmasses...

Just please tell Jax?

- Oh, I will.

I promise.

- Thank you.

- [chuckles]

That was Emma.

She said "it'’s starting."

I don'’t know what it is.

I just presume it'’s the beginning

of her demise, so I guess I better get over there.

But first...

You'’ve chosen sides, you'’ve made your choice,

but stay right there and use your voice.

- Mom, please don'’t do this.

- [chuckles]

Are you kidding?

I'’ve waited almost years for this moment.

- But why do you want us to rule the Realm so badly?

What'’s wrong with the way things are?

- Us?

There is no more us.

You'’ve blown your chances, mister.

This is your sister'’s ball game now.

- But why?

- [scoffs]

The Realm is a joke.

They want witches to be seen and not heard.

We'’re superior beings,

and they expect us to hide in the shadows?

It'’s our time to shine.

- It'’s not time!

Jessie doesn'’t even have her powers yet!

Please, just stop this before it'’s too late.

- It'’s already too late.

The wheels are in motion.

- No! Just...

Just let me call Emma.

She'’ll understand.

- I don'’t think so.

[laughs]

But I'’ll tell you what I might do.

I might consider allowing you back into my good graces,

provided you start cooperating

and stop lying to your mother.

- What do you want me to do?

- You can start by helping me find your sister.

[distant shatter]

- Hey, Mom.

- Where have you been hiding?

- A magician never reveals her secrets.

Let'’s just say...

I'’m very good at hide-and-seek.

- Stay right there. We need to talk.

- Gotta catch me first.

- Your aim'’s pretty rusty!

- Jessie, this isn'’t a game!

What in the--uh-oh.

Oh, no. Let me out of here!

- Oh, did you get trapped?

Too bad!

- Jessie, you have no idea what'’s at stake here.

I'’m your mother, and I'’m ordering you

to let me out of here right now!

[dramatic music]

Come on.

Just do it.

Push the buttons like a video game!

- Nah.

Besides, this isn'’t a game, right?

[doorbell]

- Finally.

I'’ve been calling you--

Don'’t tell me you'’re gonna try to talk me out of it again.

- I'’m all talked out.

Besides, a promise is a promise.

I'’m done trying to dissuade you.

- For real?

- For real.

Can I come in?

- Do you have any idea where Jax is?

I need him for this.

- You'’re gonna take Jax'’s powers?

Isn'’t that some kind of violation

of the girlfriend code or something?

- I'’m not.

We'’re summoning another witch

and taking her powers.

But don'’t get all prissy about it.

She'’s a disgraced witch...

in limbo.

- Em, that'’s crazy.

Well, actually, not that crazy

considering all the other stuff you'’ve been doing.

- Jax is gonna bring over a witch trap.

It'’s gonna be a snap.

- Wait, but who are you gonna bring back?

I hope it'’s not anybody I know.

- Remember the principal?

- Please tell me you'’re talking about your dad

and not the principal that came before him.

- Nope.

- What are you looking for?

- Mom turned you into a statue.

The one thing I'’m good at is breaking statues.

I just need the right tools.

Do we have a baseball bat?

- We'’re from Australia.

We don'’t play baseball.

- What'’s this?

- It'’s a cricket bat.

That'’ll do. - Jessie!

[sighs]

Magic spells can'’t be broken with bats.

Magic is not pottery.

- What am I supposed to do?

I can'’t just leave you like this.

- Don'’t worry about me.

Just go find Emma.

She'’s in serious trouble.

Mom'’s about to take her powers.

You have to stop her.

- Where is she? - I don'’t know.

Just--just hurry.

What are you doing?

- I'’ll leave this call going.

It'’ll be like we have walkie-talkies.

- Oh, good idea! Now get out of here.

Hurry, before Mom gets here!

- I don'’t think we have to worry about Mom.

- What was that?

- Time to worry about Mom.

- Where is she?

- Who? - Jessie!

Did you help her hide?

Escape?

- I'’m frozen.

What do you think I did?

Swallow her?

- Ugh.

[dramatic music]

- Did I mention I'’m very good at hide-and-seek?

- You are.

Now go, find Emma.

- Forget it.

I can'’t wait any longer.

- What'’s the rush?

- Back off, Andi!

- Whoa, easy.

Didn'’t you say you needed Jax to bring the witch trap?

- I'’ll make do without it.

- I don'’t know, Em, I don'’t really like this.

- What part of "back off" did you not understand?

- Wait.

What did you do?

Oh, Em!

Not cool!

- Sorry, Andi.

You left me no choice.

You'’ve been so long from this place.

Come back now, end your disgrace.

I'’m waiting to receive you here.

You and your shadow reappear.

[zapping]

- Ahh.

It'’s great to be back...

In Miami.

[zapping]

- I did it!

- What is this?
