And me!

And me!

Hmm... but I don't
know what an adventure is.

-I think it's easier to show you
than to explain to you Diedi.

You'll see, it's a lot of fun!

-Oh, well, if it's fun, let's
have an adventure right now!

-And let's start
the adventure with um...

Uh... With uh...

Diedi look, the box!

-The box?

I never thought
it would start with a box.

-It isn't the box,
it's where the box takes us.

-Ohhhhh.

-We
are the two great adventurers
going on a terrific adventure.

Come on.

-Right.

Look Rosie, I drew a happy face!

-What are you two up to?

-Rosie, you're all dirty, and
Caillou, you should know better.

-But I'm not dirty Daddy.

See? Only my finger!

-The car is filthy.

You and Rosie
need to go and clean up.

Caillou can you
help your little sister?

-What have you two been up to?

Rosie you're all dirty!

-I'm
not dirty Mommy and I'm going
to help Rosie wash her hands.

-I think she may need
more than just her hands washed.

-Our two young artists were
drawing on the side of the car.

-The car could use
a good washing too then!

-Can we wash the car Daddy?

-Caillou loved helping
his Daddy wash the car,

especially on a hot summer day.

-I'll get the bucket!

-Whoa there!

I wasn't planning
on washing the car today.

I have a lot
to do around the house.

-Do you think
you'd have time for a quick
run to the car wash then?

-And Caillou especially
loved going to the carwash...

-Okay then, let's hop to
it, we're going to the carwash!

-Yeah!

-Rosie too!

-Looks like you've
already been to the car wash!

C'mon, let's
get you changed first.

All set!

You're going to
love the car wash Rosie!

-Rosie had never
been to a car wash before.

She didn't know what to expect.

-Hurry up Rosie!

-Caillou had been to the
car wash before with his Daddy

so he knew how much fun it was.

-You'll see.

There's lots of soap and
bubbles and brushes and water.

Vroom, and the
car comes out clean,

like new!

-Here we are!

-Red light - stop!

Green light, go!

-Rosie was a little
nervous as the car wash began,

there was lots of noise.

-Look, water!

-Everything
will be alright Rosie.

It's a little scary isn't it?

-I'm not scared Daddy.

Rosie look!

-Waaahhhhhh!

-Caillou, why don't you
try to make her feel better?

-Caillou remembered that he
had been scared the first time

he went through
the car wash too.

-It's the dryer,
Rosie. Just like at home.

-Ready for the rinse cycle?

-I want to go through
the car wash again.

-Oh!

Oh dear!

Oh, oh, that's better!

I just love happy endings!

Hmm, so many interesting
things happen in books.

Sometimes life seems ordinary.

And of course, I'd
rather not have to deal with

three gruff billy goats
just to cross a bridge.

Still in all, I think
I'll go outside and see if

I can have an adventure
like in the books.

Hmm, never too old for that!

-Caillou's Mommy and Daddy
had gone out for the evening.

And Rosie and Caillou
were excited, because Julie

the baby-sitter had
come to look after them.

-Did you like that story?

-Yes!

Let's play now!

-Look inside.

I've brought something
special to show you.

-What is it?

Another book?

-Yes, this one's an atlas, full
of pictures of far away places!

-Where's that?

-This is a desert.

And those big piles
of sand are called sand dunes.

-Sand, sand, sand!

-I'd like to go there.

-What dat?

-It's a camel!

Look! It's got two humps!

-That's right Caillou.

And over there's a palm tree.

-And there's another palm tree!

-Caillou started to make-believe
he was in a far away place.

-You're right, we
must be near the desert.

Can you help me find it Caillou?

-Okay!

-Rosie help too!

-I know, it's this way!

-Caillou decided
that the basement would make
a perfect pretend desert.

-We can make a camel.

-Good idea Caillou.
We'll need this.

-It needs humps!

-More humpees!

-Now for the blanket!

-This can be its head!

Wow!

It's a camel!

Let's give Teddy
a camel ride Rosie.

This way!

-Caillou loved leading Rosie
and Julie through his desert

like a real explorer. He
felt very brave and adventurous.

-Phew.

-Phew.

-The sun's very
hot in this desert.

-Follow me.

It's a palm tree.

-That's great Caillou!

C'mon Rosie, let's
go sit in the shade.

Phew! After all this traveling,
I think it's supper time

for the hungry explorers.

An oasis is a cool shady
place with lots of palm trees

where desert explorer's
can find food and water.

-Look!

More palm trees!

-They sure are!

You
chose a perfect place for our
pretend desert oasis Caillou.

Aw! Looks like
our littlest explorer needs
to turn in for the night.

Come on Rosie, time for bed.

Caillou, why
don't you look at the atlas
while I put Rosie to bed.

Be back in a second.

-Caillou was glad he
didn't have to go to bed yet.

He
liked looking at the atlas and
finding new places to explore.

-Mountains!

-Caillou tried
hard to imagine where a
pretend mountain could be.

Suddenly, he thought
of just the right place.

-Julie!

I'll show you a mountain place!

See! It's a biiiig mountain!

Lets go!

Hurry!

-Okay Caillou!
I'm right behind you!

-I see the top!

We did it!

-Yeah! The famous
explorers reach the summit.

Let's celebrate.

-This can be a flag!
Like in the picture.

-Hmm!
I think it's time for Caillou
the tired explorer's bath.

-Uh-uh! I want
to play some more!

-Caillou didn't
want to go to bed yet!

He was having too much fun.

-C'mon Caillou.

-But I don't WANT my bath yet!

-Don't you want to explore
this steamy tropical jungle?

-A jungle?

Look! A river!

-Ready for a river trip Caillou?

-Yes!

-Wow! What's
that way over there?

-It's a...

I know, it's a waterfall!

I'm going to explore!

Toot-Toot!

-While Julie was
draining the bathtub, Caillou
was planing a surprise for her.

-Caillou?

-In here!

This is my tent!

-So I see!

But even busy explorers
need their sleep!

Can I have your
flashlight, please?

-Stars!

-Now you can pretend
you're sleeping under the
stars like a real explorer!

-Exploring is fun.

-Sure is!

We traveled to all sorts
of far away places didn't we?

-Mmm hmm!

But, I like home too!

-Caillou couldn't
wait for morning to arrive

so he could tell his Mommy
and Daddy all about his travels.

Oh boy,

oh I had such an adventure
with the bulldog down the street

that I'm...

too tired to make it
to Caillou's bed for a snooze.

-Okay, let's pursue
our amazing adventure.

And so, the two brave
explorers, one dinosaur,

one squirrel, sneak
into the great jungle.

-What's a jungle?

-A jungle,

well, it's a
place where there are wild
animals and scary things.

It's very dangerous.

-Oh.

-So they sneak
into the great jungle

disguised as
a -year-old turtle.

I once
heard Caillou say he heard of
a two-hundred-year-old turtle.

-What's two hundred?

-Ummm... a lot!

Like all those nuts
you collect for winter.

So the two great adventurers
get closer and closer

to the great and scary taboogle.

All they need is one purple
feather from the taboogle

and they will
save the sick prince.

-What's a taboogle?

-A taboogle?

It's a great feathered monster.

I just made him up.

-Oh.

-And as the two get closer, the
taboogle pounces on the turtle.

-Aiiieeyyah!

Caillou didn't go to school yet,

but every day
he waited to see the school
bus coming down his street.

Caillou really
wanted to ride on the school
bus with the big children.

-Daddy. When can
I go on the school bus?

-Well, you won't go to school
until after your next birthday.

Let's see.

This is today

and this is your birthday.

-But I want to
go on the school bus now.

-Well I think we could at
least go and see the school bus,

even if you can't ride on it.

-The very next morning,
Caillou and his Daddy got up

extra early, so they could see
the school bus from up close.

-Here it comes,
Daddy. Here it comes.

Oh boy!

-Hi, Caillou. Are you
coming on the bus with us?

-Caillou doesn't
go to school yet, Sarah.

-Well, good morning young man.

Are you coming to school too?

Wait a minute. I remember you.

I used to take you to school
when you were a little boy.

-Hello, Mr. Washington.
How nice to see you again.

This is my son Caillou.
He wanted to see your bus.

-Well, Caillou. I'm
very pleased to meet you.

And I'm looking
forward to driving you to
school when the time comes.

-I want to go on the bus, Daddy.

-Well. I can't
take you today, Caillou.

-Mr. Washington could see that
Caillou was very disappointed.

-But maybe I could tomorrow...

as long as it's all right
with your Mommy and Daddy.

And I'll have to
ask my boss if it's OK too.

So I can't promise
I'll take you.

-Isn't that nice
of Mr. Washington, Caillou?

Let's go and ask Mommy.

-Wow!

-What's this, Caillou?

-That's the school bus, Daddy.

-And who's this
driving the school bus?

-Me.

-Caillou, remember
we have to wait till tomorrow

to find out if you're
allowed to ride on the bus.

-Hi Caillou! It looks like
you're going to school today.

-Caillou was very nervous.

He didn't know if he'd
be allowed to ride on the bus.

-Good morning!

Well, we don't want to be late
for school, Caillou. Come along!

-What are you
waiting for? Go on.

-Oh boy!

-Caillou loved riding
in the big yellow school bus.

-We're
almost home Caillou. There's
your Daddy waiting for you.

-Hey!

-Did you see me,
Daddy? I was in the bus.

-I saw you.

Now let's say thank
you to Mr. Washington.

-Thank you Mr. Washington.

-Goodbye, Caillou.

Goodbye.

See you after
your next birthday.

We're going on an adventure!

-We are going to go for a little
walk in the woods this morning.

So, does everybody
have their hats?

-Yes!

-And their sunscreen?

-Yes!

-And their backpacks?

-Yes!

-Yes... I think
we are ready so let's go!

-Adventure could be
anywhere. Keep your eyes open!

-Sometimes you have to walk a
long long way, just to find it!

Lily pads!

Plants that live in the water.

Tadpoles!

When they grow
up, they'll be frogs.

They sure don't
look like frogs yet.

What's up there?

A squirrel!

A bug!

You find lots
of those on adventures!

A frog... a teeny tiny frog!

Riding in a canoe
is an adventure too!

It will take us to
new places and new things.

Of course, you can also
have an adventure of your

very own right
in your own living room,

if you want to!

Now I wonder what's in that box.

-Oh, what was that!?!

-It's the scary taboogle!

-Oh Rexy, I'm scared!

-But, Diedi
even if you're scared,

you have to be brave and
keep on being an adventurer.

Besides.

See? It's only the sandbox.

-Oh!

Adventure sure is fun!

-I told you.

-Oh... It's one thing
to read about an adventure,

but quite another to
see and hear one in action.

-No bulldog on my property...

Are we there yet, Daddy?

Are we there yet, Daddy?

-Almost.

-Are we there yet?

-We're here!

-Caillou was very excited
because this was the first time

he'd ever been to a theme park

and he wanted to go
on the rides with his Daddy.

-Wow!

-The
first one he chose was called
the Niagara Falls River Ride.

-Stand next
to the board, Caillou.

-What is it?

-You can only go on the
ride if you're tall enough.

-Do you like it?

-Yes. It's fun.

-It's a bit scary too, isn't it?

-Caillou and his
Daddy agreed that the River
Ride was fun and a bit scary.

-Wheeee.

-Yay.

-Pretty soon,
Caillou was having too much
fun to be really scared.

-The water splashed us, Mommy.

-Who wants dessert?

-I do. Me!

-I want some.

-Yummy!

-Hmmm...
Well, I'm not sure cotton
candy is really good for you.

-Does that mean
you don't want one?

-Yeah...

Wheeee...

Look Daddy. We're very high up.

Look!

-Caillou loved riding
on the Ferris wheel.

From all the way up here, he
could see the whole theme park.

-Daddy, Daddy. Look.

-It was the biggest teddy
bear Caillou had ever seen.

If they could throw all
their hoops over a wooden block,

maybe they could win the bear.

-Hey!

-It was a very difficult
game for Caillou.

-It didn't go.

-It isn't as easy as it looks.

-Can you do it, Daddy?

-I'll try my best.

-Way to go!

-Caillou really, really
hoped his Daddy could make

the third hoop
fall over the block...

-Did you enjoy
yourself, Caillou?

-Oh, yes, Mommy.

-What was the best part?

Was it the river ride?

The Ferris wheel?

I know...

It was Daddy throwing the hoops
and winning the bear, wasn't it?

-Yes!
