Okay, there's this really
bad dude named hacker --

Hacker: the hacker, to you!

Whatever.
He wants to take over

The cyberworld
from motherboard.

[ Gasp ]
the three kids
are sucked into cyberspace,

And they use brain power
to help save everybody.

Jackie:
okay, here's the plan.

So they travel
all over and run into all these

Weird creatures...and have all
of these awesome adventures.

It's totally up to them
to save cyberspace.

Can three cool kids and a wacky
bird outsmart the hacker?

Hacker: never!
Matt: there's only one way
to find out!

Tune in
to "cyberchase"!

Ving *

* We're b*ating hacker
at his game! *

* Don't tell me that he's trying
to hack the motherboard *

* We'll get him every time!

* Cosmic worlds,

* Freaky places
that we've seen *

* We've got the power
of one, two, three, four! *

* Running in a cyberchase

* We'll meet him face to face

* We'll stick together
all the time! *

* Adventures in cyberspace

* The chase is on!

* Just wait
and c-y-b-e-r-chase! *

Buzz:
I don't know, boss.

But I think you been
workin' too hard.

Delete:
yeah, boss.

You look kinda pale.

That's why I need
the egg of benedicta.

The egg is what keeps
tikiville green.

With that egg
in my possession,

My gorgeous green complexion
will be restored!

Oh, no!
The grim wreaker!

It's hacker!

Hacker: (loudspeaker)
that's the hacker to you!

(Panicked screams)

(Unintelligible murmurs)

Jackie:
don't you just love
thanksgiving time?

(Deep breath)
the earth just smells so good.

Inez:
yep. It's my favorite time
to relax

And watch the sky.

Matt:
not to mention
all the good stuff to eat.

Jackie:
hey, see that cloud?

Doesn't it look like a dog?

Matt:
not any more.

Now it looks like
marshmallow fluff.

Jackie:
look! They're flying
south for the winter.

Inez:
geese always fly
in that "v" pattern.

I wonder why
they do that?

Matt:
my dad says,

(Imitating his dad)
"when you see a pattern
in nature,

Look for the reason why."

Jackie:
so what's the reason?

According to dad,

It's less work to travel
long distances

When they fly in a "v".

Jackie:
hey! It's motherboard!

Static: must go (static)
tikiville.

Egg of benedicta stolen.

(Static) hacker!
(Static) site dying!

Help creech!

Man! Hacker again.

Why am I not surprised?

This is not good.

This is not good
at all!

So what are we waiting for?

We've got to save
tikiville.

I can't believe
this is happening.

I can't let tikiville die.

(Gasps)

Inez:
creech! Are you all right?

Jackie:
hey, didn't it used to be
really green around here?

Matt:
what happened?

The egg of benedicta
is gone.

What is the egg
of benedicta, creech?

Thousands of cyber years ago,

The egg of benedicta was laid
by benedicta,

The last of the great
tiki birds.

We believe she left her egg
to remind us

That she would forever protect
the citizens of tikiville.

The egg of benedicta
is the source

From which all good flows.

As long as the egg
is in its place,

Prosperity reigns,

And we rejoice
in plentiful harvests.

Uh...
Translation, please?

Inez:
without the egg of benedicta,

Everything that grows
on tikiville will die.

Matt:
guess there'll be no
thanksgiving then, huh?

There may be no more
tikiville either!

It's happening already.

The life of tikiville
is slipping away.

Tikian :
so why are you just
sitting there?

Tikian :
yeah! What are you
gonna do about it?

Inez:
we're... We're going
to locate hacker

And get the egg back!

Jackie:
that's right!

He's probably home
on the northern frontier.

Matt:
let's go, guys!

Hurry!

Jackie:
(pointing) look!

What's the plan?

We rush in there
and grab it!

Okay, okay.
Bad plan.

Got any other ideas?

Uh...

No.

Right.

Then let's go.

Digit:
why am I so sure this is
a zillion gigabyte mistake?

Buzz:
boss? Here's your drink!

Delete:
and I got some snacks!

(Whispering) hide!

Whoa!

Ahhhh!

Digit:
(strangled) get...off...me!

What? Grab him!

(Yelling)
inez! Jackie!

Let's get out of here!

Hacker:
get them,
you blundering buffoons!

(Screaming)

Digit:
yoikes!

They got away,
boss.

I can see that,
you ridiculous robot!

Gee, boss.
You look greener.

Maybe the egg
is working!

(Angry growl)

Digit:
uh-oh.

It looks like things
are getting worse!

You don't have the egg?!

Matt:
no. Sorry.

We were lucky to get
out of there ourselves.

Tikian :
who cares about you?

What are we going to do
without our egg?

Tikian :
tikiville is dying!

We need our egg!

And it's all your fault!

Creech:
now is not the time
to blame.

We must work together.

Oh, why don't you
just go and lay an egg?

Then at least
we'd have one!

Lay an egg?

Digit:
hey! Don't look at me!

I'm sorry, creech.

It's not your fault.

Ooh. What to do?
What to do?

That's easy.

We've got to come up with
a plan to save tikiville.

I know.
I know.

I think I have one.

We need to lay an egg.

Jax, this is no time
for jokes.

I'm not joking.

What if we made a new egg
and nest...

And everything?

What good
would that do?

I don't know.

But we have to
try something.

And I can't think
of anything else!

Inez:
wait a second!

What would we need
to rebuild?

The nest...

The canopy over it,

Which protects it from
the great rains of tikiville

And the egg itself,
of course.

But it's hopeless.

Jackie:
we could start
with the nest.

Matt:
creech, what was it made of?

It was made
from the long st*lks

Of the tiki wicki bush.

Inez:
great!

Creech:
actually, not so great.

The tiki wicki bush
is extinct.

Oh man, now what
are we going to do?

What did the st*lks of the
tiki wicki bush look like?

They were slender
and flexible...

Hey! What about these?

Slender.
Flexible.

Creech:
they are somewhat similar
to the tiki wicki st*lks.

Then let's get some
and try it!

Okay if I beak some?

Creech:
yes. Anything
to save tikiville.

Matt:
there!

Now we just put the nest
in the center of the-

Jackie:
so much for that idea.

Matt:
hey, didge. You're a bird.

How do you build a nest?

How would I know?

I've only built virtual nests,

And I was never
very good at it.

We need something
to stick the grass together.

Like glue.

Creech:
the tiki bird didn't use glue.

Look.

Jackie:
it's woven
in a sort of pattern.

Inez:
these strands
run up and down.

And these...

Are woven in and out.

Jackie:
like this.

You're right,
jax.

Let's try weaving more
of that vegetation

In the same way!

Matt:
now, we just take our egg
and...

Oh no!

This will never work!

Tikiville is doomed!

Don't worry,
creech.

We'll figure out
some way

To ameliorate
the situation.

Thanks for your optimistic
attitude, inez.

Jackie:
okay. We must have missed
something in the pattern,

That's all.

Wait a minute.

Matt:
what, jax?

We didn't look carefully
enough at this thing.

We only did part
of the pattern.

The strands are woven over
and under, all right.

But they're woven over
and under both ways -

Across and up and down.

See?

This first strand goes under,
over, under, over,

All the way to the top.

But the next one starts
by going over,

Then under, over,

Under, over.

That way, the strands hold
each other together.

Up, down, and sideways!

Matt:
you're right!

The pattern is under,
then over, both ways.

Inez:
a very impressive design.

Of course it's impressive.

A bird made it!

Inez:
let's try it.

Jackie:
okay. These go sideways.

Matt:
and this one goes like this!

Jackie:
this goes like this.

Inez:
I think we've got
the same pattern

As the tiki bird used.

Jackie:
so let's try weaving a nest.

Matt:
it's working!

Matt:
excellent!

Inez:
we came...
We saw the pattern...

And we conquered!

Buzz:
hey, boss.
Anything we can do?

Hacker:
you had your chance.

You could have caught
those rotten kids,

But you messed up!

Sorry, boss.

You know,
I think you're-

Leave me alone!

I'm trying to get
a green here!

Okay, boss.
But you really oughta

Do something about
that egg burn.

Hacker:
egg burn?

What egg burn?

Ahhhhhh!

I've got an egg burn!

Get me some egg cream -
now!

You bet, boss!

Ouch... Ow...

Ow... Eek... Ow-ow-ow!

What are you
waiting for?

Put it on me!
Put it on!

(Relieved)
ahhhhh...

Huh?
What is going on?

What is this stuff?

You duncebuckets!

This is my wig gel!

Mmmm mmm mmmm
mmmm mmmm!

What did he say?

Mmmm mmm mmmm
mmmm mmmm!

You sure?

Are you okay,
creech?

I guess so.

No. I'm not.

I finally fulfill
my destiny -

I'm the big kahuna -

Just in time to see
my site

Decimated by hacker.

It's not going to be
decimated, creech.

We'll figure out a way to
ameliorate the situation.

I hope so.

But I'm not extremely
optimistic.

I know.

But you mustn't give up.

We're not going
to let you down.

Creech:
thanks, inez.

Okay.

What do we need
to build next?

Something to hold up
the canopy.

Look, here is a piece
of the original.

Wow. How could this stuff
have been strong enough

To hold up all those
leaves?

Creech:
these tikana trees were
the last of their kind.

Their trunks were thin,

But remarkably sturdy.

Jackie:
so what can we use
to replace them?

Matt:
hey. Look at that stuff.

Jackie:
tall, thin...

Let's try it!

Inez:
well, that isn't gonna work.

They're the right shape...

But they're way
too flexible.

They're flopping
all over the place!

What made this
tikana tree stuff so different?

There must be a pattern
we haven't spotted yet.

Okay.

But what pattern?

Huh?

Look at this.

It's hollow,
but not all the way through.

Of course not.

See these bumps?

Each of them
is a solid joint.

Inez:
and it looks like they occur
at regular intervals.

Matt:
huh?

Creech:
she means
the same distance apart.

Oh.

Then I think we
just found the pattern

That makes this so strong.

Jackie:
hey! Look at this!

This stuff bends like crazy.

Does it have joints
like the other ones?

Nope.

Hallow all the way.

I think
you're right matt.

The regular pattern
of solid joints

Is what makes this
so strong.

But there aren't any
tikana trees around here.

How are we going
to make polls

That are strong like that?

Digit:
mmm. (Satisfied exhale)

Anybody thirsty?

I just made some of my famous
tikiville tea.

Matt:
digit, you're a genius!

Digit:
huh! I know that.

What did I do?

Inez:
how many of those cups
do you think we'd need?

A lot.

Creech:
I'll get everyone
to gather them up.

Digit:
hold it! What's going on?

Inez:
we're going to glue
these cups together.

They're like segments
of the tikana trees -

With joints
that make them strong.

Oh! I get it.

Not.
Explain, please.

We'll do better than that.

We'll show you!

First, I'll dip the cup
in some sap for glue.

Then join the cup
to another one.

So far so good.

This just might work.

Tikian :
get out of my way!

Tikian :
I was here first!

Tikian :
no you weren't.
I was!

Oh no,
they're still fighting.

We're not done yet.

Don't give up!

Delete:
there you go, boss!

Buzz:
good as new!

Hacker:
give me that mirror,
you bumbling buffoons!

Ugh...

Delete:
he's all dusty.

Buzz:
we can fix that!

Hacker:
you delirious dimwits!

Buzz:
boss! We were just trying
to heeeelp!

Creech:
oh my goodness,
it worked!

Matt:
we just had to figure out
the pattern

That made the trunks strong.

Now we just have
to figure out

How to build
the leaf canopy.

We'd better do it
quick.

It looks like
it's going to-

Rain!

Oh, no!

With all the
trees dying,

There's nothing
to hold the water.

We're going to have a flood!

And it's headed straight
for the tiki village!

Creech:
hurry everyone!

We've got to make a dam.

Hey! Watch it!

That almost fell
on my foot!

Not my fault, man!

Then whose fault
is it?

Oh, dry up!

I think that'll do it.

I think we're okay
for the moment.

Jackie:
but we really have
to make the canopy fast

Or this rain
will ruin our nest.

Inez:
I've been thinking.

What if we tried
weaving a roof

Like we did
with the nest?

Jackie:
good idea.

Let's try it!

(Thunder)

Oh no,
it's leaking.

Matt:
yeah. But why?

Inez:
that under and over pattern
is good for a nest.

But there are gaps
in the weave

That let the rain
come through.

It's not
the right pattern

To protect the egg
of benedicta

From the rain.

So we'll have to figure
out another pattern

That will work better.

Jackie:
hey, guys.

Look at this!

These leaves are keeping
everything dry underneath.

Matt:
there's got to be
a pattern here!

But what?

Jackie:
look. The leaves overlap.

Each leaf covers the gap

Between the two leafs
below it.

Inez:
that's it!

That's the pattern!

Inez:
so if you put down leaves
one on top of one another

In this pattern,

The water runs down
the outside

And doesn't get underneath!

Look, no leaks!

Creech:
quick everybody!

Pick up as many leaves
from the ground as you can.

Matt:
let's try it.

(Thunder)

Hacker:
it's not working!

That stupid egg
isn't making me any greener.

Get it out if my sight!

Sure, boss.

Look at the cute
little birdie!

Bird:
(deep male voice) mama.

Mama.

I am nobody's mother!

Get way from me!

You... You... Uh...

Bird brain!

Here birdie!
Here birdie!

Oof.

Sorry, boss.

We was only trying
to help.

Well, stop it!

You two have helped
enough!

Bird:
mama.

Jackie:
last one!

We're good to go,
didge.

(Struggling efforts)

Inez:
it's totally dry!

Jackie:
we did it!

All right!

Good work, didge!

(Wheezing)
thanks!

Matt:
and here's
the finishing touch.

Creech:
but the ground is still bare.

Inez:
give it some time,
creech.

If it doesn't work,

We'll figure out
something else.

Nezzie is right.

We're not giving up.

Of course
I'm right.

And don't call me
nezzie!

Sorry.

We're here for you,
creech.

Jackie:
that goes for me,
too.

Digit:
and me.

Tikian :
what's going on?

Tikian :
everything is growing!

Tikian :
could it be that the strange egg
is like... Working?

Inez:
wait a minute!

It's not the egg
or the ball

That keeps tikiville verdant.

It's caring for each other

That makes the vegetation
proliferate!

Creech:
I see it now!

The egg is a symbol
of cooperation

Of selflessness;

Of the labor
that all my cyber citizens do

Each and every day
to make our site flourish!

Tikians:
huh?

What she means is...

You have the power
of the egg within you.

Tikians:
huh?

Work hard together,

And you'll make tikiville
green again.

Tikians:
(realizing) ohhhh!

(Cheering)

Creech:
thanks so much for
not giving up on us.

Hey,
we'd never do that.

We were glad to help.

Look, cyber geese.

Inez:
they're flying
in the same "v" pattern

As the geese do at home.

Creech:
I wonder why?

Matt:
creech, it's less work
to fly long distances

When they fly
in a "v" formation.

Jackie:
right.

When you see a pattern
in nature,

There's a good reason why!

Matt:
hey, that goose isn't flying
in the right pattern.

Creech:
wait! That's because...

It's not a goose!

It's a tiki bird!

Tikian :
(reverent) the tiki bird!

You're right!
It's come back!

Tikians:
(cheer)

Mama...

Inez:
I think somebody better tell
that tiki bird

That matt's soccer ball
isn't going to hatch!

(Laughter)
