be a big boy...

- One snowy evening,

Grandma was having a visit
with caillou and rosie.

- Vrrrmmm!

- Honk! Honk!

- Vrrrmmm!

- Does your nose honk, rosie?

- Honk! Honk!

Honk!

- Honk!

- What was that?

- Maybe it's a monster!

- Uh-ho!

- Caillou knew there
wasn't really a monster,

But it was fun to imagine one.

- Oh, I don't think a monster
could fit under there.

- The snow plow!

- Caillou loved
the snow plow

And all the neat
sounds it made.

- Vrrmm! Vrrmm!

- And all the clowns danced
out of the circus tent

Ready for the big parade.

- There's that
squeaky sound again!

- But now it's
squeaking and thumping.

And it's coming
from over there.

- Maybe it's a dinosaur!

I'll go check!

- Caillou was imagining
he was following

The tracks of a dinosaur.

- Well, hello there!

- I'm following
a dinosaur mommy.

And it's down there!

- Maybe daddy can help you.

You have company coming!

Good luck!

- Caillou couldn't hear
the squeaky sound anymore,

But then he heard another sound!

- Did you hear that
squeaky sound daddy?

- You mean the drill?

Was it sandpaper?

Was it my hammer?

- It's that sound!

- Now the sound went
squeak and rattle rattle!

- It sounds like
it's moving upstairs.

You'd better go and check!

- And with that,

Caillou ran upstairs
to follow that sound!

He didn't know
where to look next.

But then he heard some very
familiar sounds down the hall

And knew just who to ask.

- Have you found
your dinosaur yet?

- Dinosaur? I thought
it was a monster.

- It could be
a spaceship.

- A monster? A
dinosaur? A spaceship?

What kind of sound
could that be?

- Come on, follow me!

- Caillou couldn't
believe it.

There wasn't anybody in
his room but gilbert.

How could gilbert have been
making such a strange sound?

- Why that's one of
rosie's old baby toys!

Gilbert must have got it
out of the bath toy pail.

Well, now we know what squeaks
and rattles and thumps,

Don't we caillou?

= Gilbert!

- Meow!

- Come on gilbert! Find
the two matching cards.

Ohhhhh!

Is it my turn yet?
Is it my turn yet?

- No, it's gilbert's turn,

You just went rexy.

- Ohhh!

- Is it my turn now?
Huh? Can I pleeeease!

- Rexy, you have
to wait your turn,

Go ahead teddy.

- Ok, there is that one...

Oh! I thought I had a match.

- Yay! It's my
turn, it's my turn!

Ok, you watch.

Rexy the amazing,
will now turn over

Two identical cards.

- Oh dear!

- Hey... No fair!

There is another one. They
are all over the place.

- Did you hear
that teddy?

- Hear what?

- The sounds of nature,

Listen, it's almost musical.

(Bark, bark, bark)

- Music to my ears.

(Bark, bark, bark)

♪Six birds tweet,
pick up the b*at.

♪A windy song, carries it along.

♪The tinkling chimes,
as the music climbs,

♪A dog's bow-wow
says it's over now!

- Gilbert, you've
just made up a song.

Oooh, another sound!

- I'd say that's

like you won, rexy!

How did I win?

- You have a match!

- Where?

- On your back, turn
around and look.

- I'm ready, daddy!

- Thank you, caillou!

- Caillou liked the sound
of the wind in the leaves.

- Okay, let's go!

It's such a nice day, I
thought I'd walk you over

To clementine's instead
of taking the car.

- Hi there caillou!

- Hi!

- Hello!

Okay, caillou, I'll
see you at dinner time.

- Bye!

- Clementine is
playing in her room.

Why don't you go up
and surprise her?

- But when he got to
the top of the stairs,

Caillou heard an
unusual sound.

What could it be?

- Oh! Clementine!

What is billy doing?

- Billy's practicing
on his tuba

So we have to
be very quiet.

- It takes a lot of
practice to be a musician.

I play in a marching
band at school,

My friends are on their
way here to practice.

- A marching band?

play music at the same time!

are written on the paper.

- Caillou was very
impressed that billy could

Play music by reading
notes on a piece of paper.

And you try to reach

are in the backyard.

- Caillou was having
a great time playing

The high and low game.
He didn't want to stop.

- Let me try!

- Clementine!

Caillou was using that.

Come on you two,
I've got an idea.

- Bwah bwah bwah bwah?

- Bwah bwah bwah!

- Would you two
like some cookies?

- Bwah bwah!

- And would you
like milk or juice?

= Bwah bwah bwah!

- Did you say you
wanted vinegar?

Well, okay then!

= No! Milk please!

- Ah! Billy's band is
starting to practice!

Maybe you can listen to
them after your snack.

- Caillou couldn't
wait to hear

play together.

- Caillou was fascinated by
the trumpet and the drum.

- We can play
music too!

- Sorry but it's
really difficult

For the band to get
together and practice,

We have to be the
only ones playing.

- Caillou was very
disappointed.

He wanted to play with the band.

- But, we are gonna
practice marching.

You can march with
us if you want to!

Okay. Let's
practice the steps:

- Come on, caillou!
Let's march!

- Oops!

- Caillou! Your
daddy called.

He said it's time for
dinner soon. Time to go!

- Caillou wasn't
ready to go home yet,

keep marching.

- Caillou felt very proud
that he helped billy.

And we're walking

We do have to practice marching
and playing at the same time!

to march all the way
home with the band.

- We brought you
some music daddy!

It nearly got away
but I caught it!

some sort of sound

♪Clap in the air, a
stomp on the ground

♪Stretch a rubber band,
give it a strum

♪Pat your tummy to
sound like a drum

give it a try stomp,

♪A slide trombone
goes in and out

♪Play the tambourine,
just shake it about

♪Sound like a bird,
whistle on a flute

♪Pick up a horn and
give it a toot

♪Try to make a sound
with anything you got

on a kitchen pot

- Caillou liked
coming to the attic

Because it was
full of surprises.

- Look mommy.

- I'd completely
forgotten about those.

This was my music box
when I was little.

- Caillou liked the
music that came out
of the music box.

- Oh! And this was
my favorite bear.

- The bear has a
hole in his head!

- You want to help me fix it?

There! Now he's
a pirate bear.

- Caillou found that
the bear was more fun

Since the music box didn't
play music anymore.

- I'm a pirate.

- Me, caillou.

- No rosie.

- Rosie, come here,

I have something
for you!

- Here comes
the pirate ship!

- That was the
music box playing!

- I want to play
with the music box.

- Mine.

- You want this?

- You want my
pirate ship?

- No!

- You can play with my
pirate bear if you want.

- Rosie really liked
the bear so she decided

To let caillou have the
music box in exchange.

Now that the music
had stopped playing,

Caillou wanted
his bear back.

- Here rosie, you can
play with the music box.

- No!

- I want my pirate bear.

- Mine!

- What's going on?

- I want my bear back.
The music box is broken.

- Let me see the music box.

Look, if you turn this
key and open the music box

It starts playing.

Why don't you and rosie
take turns playing with it?

- Caillou was not
happy taking turns.

He wanted to play with the
music box and the bear.

- What have we here?

Pirates!

Have you found a treasure?

- It's the music box!

Pirate bear is guarding it!

- Ok!

- Caillou and rosie
had decided to play
pirates together.

- They're making
musical instruments

With things we have at home.

- Hey! Empty water bottles.

- And rice and candy.

= And little bits
of paper and ribbon.

- Wonder what they're making?

Maracas!

- And scratchy things.

Ha ha ha ha!

- Ok, that's an
old coffee can.

- You need an adult to
help you with this one.

- That's a piece of paper

- Held down with
a rubber band.

- You can use all kinds
of things to decorate it.

But I wonder what it will be?

A drum!

Tum-ta-dum-dum!

Those are pie plates.

- And popcorn, yum!

- We have them at home.

You need sticky tape.

What will it be?

A tambourine!

Old shoe boxes with
big holes in them.

I hope the shoes don't
have holes in them too.

- And rubber bands.

- Oh! Two sticks!

- Glue all kinds of
decorations on them.

What will they be?

Guitars!

- It was beautiful day
so caillou and his mommy

Were taking a walk to
go mail some letters.

- I'll race you
to the mailbox!

- Hey!

You didn't say go!

- Hi andre! Wanna race?

- I can't.

I'm going to my gym class.

- Why doesn't
caillou come too?

I could bring him back
to your house after.

- Well I don't see why not.

How about it?

Do you want to go?

- Hi there.

- This is caillou.

- Would you like
to join the class?

- Caillou felt shy.

- Um... Ok!

- But he still
wanted to try.

- Everybody,
this is caillou.

= Hi caillou!

- Ok everyone.

We're going to start
off with some stretches.

So reach your arms
up to the ceiling.

- I'm touching the sky!

- Now stretch to one
side, then the other.

That's it.

And touch your toes.

- Andre!

Look at me!

- Now make big circles
with your arms.

- Caillou was
really trying

But it was hard to
do the exercises!

- When I hit this drum I
want you to stomp your feet.

Like this.

Ready? Go!

- Look!

One two, one two.

- Caillou
tried again.

He wanted to show the
teacher he could do it.

- I did it!

- Ok everyone.

It's time to try
the next exercise.

Leap frog!

One person bends
down, head tucked in,

And the other
jumps over.

- Ribbit ribbit!
I'm a frog.

- I want to try.

- Leaping over
andré was not easy!

Caillou was a little
bit discouraged.

- Try again!

This time andre, keep you
head really tucked in!

Go on caillou!

= Ribbit! Ribbit!

- Good class everyone.

the gym teacher.

- Caillou was having
fun pretending to be
the gym teacher.

The leap frog
all by himself.

time! Are you ready?

- Great! Today we're going
to play "sound detective."

And here's how it works:

I'm going to make four
different animals appear

And you have to guess what
sound goes with which animal.

And the best part is that

I get to use this big red
button here to make the sounds.

Ok, here we go.

I sure hope that you know the
sound these animals make,

Because there's some that
I've never seen before.

This is a
hippopotamus, right?

= No! It's an owl!

- Really?

And that's a funny
looking horse right?

- No! It's a cow.

- Oh! Oh! Oh! I know this
one.. It's a rooster.

- Right, rexy.

And the last one must be
a little green kitty.

= No! That's a frog!

- Oh! You know
almost everything!

Now, can you help me
figure out which sound

Goes with which animal?

(Croak, croak...)

That's a funny sound!

Which animal do you
think that belongs to?

= The frog!

- Well done!

You have very good ears.

Ready for the next?

(Cock-a-doodle-doo!)

Oh, I've heard that one before,
very early in the morning!

Could it be the owl?

= No!

- Maybe it's the cow, they
wake up very early don't they?

= No! It's a rooster!

- Oh, well maybe I'm
still asleep when the
rooster makes that sound!

Here comes another!

(Mooooo!)

Ooh, that sounds scary.

Could it be the owl?

= No! It's a cow

Now that we know what a frog, a
rooster and a cow sound like,

You have to guess which one of
these two sounds an owl makes.

Here are two sounds.
Are you ready?

(Car horn)

Hee hee hee hee!

- No.

(Whoo-ooo-ooo-ooo!)

- That's the owl!

- Right you are!

You were very good

Teddy!

Of all the teddy bears
in the whole wide world,
he's my most favorite!

Teddy is my favorite because
he's so much fun to play with.

He needs lots of loving.

Teddy always
makes me feel better.

He's the official hug authority!

That means, he's the best
hugger in the whole wide world!

- I like playing
with my grandpa.

One time we looked at the
moon, way up in the sky.

Grandpa knows how
to make things.

We even made a tent once.

And my grandpa
gives the best hugs.
