Caillou:

♪ Each day I grow some more ♪

♪ I like exploring,
I'm caillou ♪

♪ So many things to do ♪

♪ Each day is something new ♪

♪ I'll share them with you,
I'm caillou ♪

♪ My world is turning,
changing each day ♪

♪ With mommy and daddy,
I'm finding my way ♪

♪ Growing up is not so tough ♪

♪ 'Cept when I've had enough ♪

♪ But there's lots of fun stuff,
I'm caillou ♪

♪ Caillou, caillou ♪

♪ I'm caillou ♪

That's me!

Teddy: and me!
Rexy: and me!

Gilbert: and me!

[Caillou chuckling]

Caillou: zoom! Zoom! Zoom!

Narrator:
grandma had given caillou

A special plate
with spaceships on it.

Caillou loved it.

[Meow]

Caillou: hee hee!

Gilbert is afraid
of the spaceships.

Look! The red one
has a window.

The blue one, too.

Mom: and look at
the green one!

I think it has
a snooze button.

[Mom chuckles]

Time for bed, space man!

Narrator: caillou
loved his plate so much

That he wanted to have it
with him all the time.

Mom: why don't I take it
downstairs?

It'll be there for
you at breakfast.

Caillou: ok.

Mom: nighty-night. Sleep tight.

Don't let the bed bugs bite.

[Kiss]

Rosie: rosie!

Caillou: that's my plate!

Dad: here, caillou.
Rosie was just admiring it.

[Rosie whines]

Caillou: zoom!

Zoom!

Narrator: caillou thought
that everything tasted better

On his spaceship plate.

Mom: caillou, we need
to wash it, you know?

Caillou: ok.

[Meow]

[Mewing]

Gilbert, you caught
the spaceship.

Mom: caillou!

Rosie: "tupper,"
caillou. "Tupper!"

[Mom chuckles]

Mom: thank you, rosie.

Your macaroni and cheese
is ready.

Caillou: yay! I want it
on my spaceship plate!

Mom: why am I not surprised?

Caillou: look! I'm a spaceman.

Rosie: hee hee!

Dad: let's get your hands
cleaned, mr. Space man.

Caillou: zoom! Hee hee!

Mom: that's funny.
Your plate's not here.

Narrator:
caillou was worried.

He just had to eat his
lunch from his favorite plate.

Dad: I think I washed it
this morning.

Caillou:
I want to look for it.

Mom: you know what, caillou,
lunch is ready now.

Let's look for it
after lunch.

Rosie: me, too!

Narrator: caillou
didn't feel like eating.

He wanted
his spaceship plate.

This one just wasn't
the same.

Rosie: mmm! Good!

Caillou: can I go look
for my plate now?

Mom: ok.

Narrator: caillou searched
everywhere for his plate.

Caillou was sad because
he thought his plate

Might be lost forever.

Caillou: I couldn't find it.

[Rosie chuckling]

Caillou: my plate!

Narrator: caillou was very
happy to have his plate back.

[Stomach grumbling]

Dad: ha ha. Sounds like you
need a space snack!

[Caillou chuckles]

[Meow]

Rexy: i, rexy the explorer,
have conquered mount...um...

Mount, um...

Mount sandbox! Hee hee!

Now that I've climbed
the highest mountain,

I will explore the world
around me!

Ha ha!

Aah! Ohh...

Teddy: what you looking at?

Rexy: teddy, you scared me.
I was exploring.

Teddy: oh! What you exploring?

Rexy: well, world explorers
look for everything.

Caves, icebergs, volcanoes.

And since I've never seen
any of those things,

I'll look for them! Mm-hmm.

Teddy: here? In the yard?

Rexy: oh, sure!

There's a whole world
just waiting to be explored

Right here
in the backyard. Hee hee!

[Thunder]

Oh, teddy, did you hear that?

That sounded an awful lot
like a volcano about to erupt!

Gilbert: sounded more
like thunder to me.

Aah! Oh. Heh.

Gilbert: I think
you'd better pack it in,

Because it's about to come down
any minute.

Teddy: oh!

Rexy: but...but...

But I'm not done exploring.

And explorers
don't explore in the rain!

They like sunshine
and warm weather.

Do you hear?

[Thunder]

Oh! Oh! Oh!

Oh. No fair.

The rain spoiled

All my plans
to explore the world.

Teddy: well, I'm sure
it's just a passing rain shower.

And, besides, rain
is very important.

Gilbert: teddy is right.

Even though I'm not
fond of the rain,

It waters the grass
and the flowers

And makes everything grow.

Rexy: I know, but I wasn't
finished exploring yet.

♪ Plip plop, plip plop ♪

♪ It's a rainy day ♪

♪ Drip drop, drip drop ♪

♪ Can't go out and play ♪

♪ Plip plop, plip plop ♪

♪ Inside I must stay ♪

♪ Drip drop, drip ♪

I didn't expect a rainy day.

♪ We can still do ♪

♪ Something nice ♪

♪ Like play a game ♪

♪ Maybe once or twice ♪

♪ We may be ♪

♪ Inside for hours ♪

♪ While the rain waters ♪

♪ All the pretty flowers ♪

Oh, it's still raining!

All: ♪ plip plop ♪

♪ Plip plop ♪

♪ It's a rainy day ♪

♪ Drip drop, drip drop ♪

♪ Can't go out and play ♪

♪ Plip plop, plip plop ♪

♪ Inside can be fun ♪

♪ Drip drop, drip drop ♪

♪ Till the rain is done ♪

Rexy: ♪ drip drop, drip-- ♪

Stop!

♪ Now the rain is done ♪

Ha ha!

Yay! Here I come, world!

Ha ha!

Rosie: caillou!

Caillou: ok!

Hee hee! Ready, rosie?

Rosie: hee hee!

Hee hee!

Narrator: caillou could
hardly wait because miss martin

Was taking him and his
friends to the park.

Kids: hi, caillou!

Caillou:
hi, leo! Hi, clementine!

Bye, mommy.

Rosie: me, too.

Mom: you'll see caillou
later, sweetie.

Rosie: bye, caillou!

Mom: bye, honey!

Martin: all right. Let's go!

Caillou: bye!

[Dog barking]

Martin: here we are.

Mara, clementine, xavier,
emma, caillou, leo.

I have a new game for you.

Narrator: caillou
was curious and excited.

Miss martin's new games
were always fun.

Leo: I'm going to win!

Caillou: no, I'm going to win!
Race you!

[Kids laughing]

Emma: ya-hoo!

Caillou: hooray!
Leo: yay!

Caillou: I'm first.

Leo: try this.

Caillou: that was fun.

[Girls laughing]

Martin: ok, everyone,
come over here, please.

Does anybody want
to play a new game?

Child: yeah!
Different child: me, too!

Different child: I do!
Different child: me, too!

Martin: good!

Today we're going
to play in teams.

Caillou:
you're gonna be on my team!

Martin:
we don't know the teams yet.

That's a surprise.

I'll pull the names out of
here to choose the teams.

Ok?

Kids: yes!
Leo: great!

Martin: the first team
will be xavier and emma.

[Both chuckle]

Leo and clementine.

Narrator:
caillou was disappointed

That his best friend, leo,

Was not on the same team.

Martin: mara and caillou.

We're going to have
a bean bag race.

Each team gets one bean bag.

Clementine, xavier.

Martin: that will make
a great starting line.

Thanks, leo.
Thanks, clementine.

Caillou: how do you play?

Martin: here is
how the bean bag race works.

You take turns
with your teammate to carry it,

And the first bean bag
to come back

To the finish line wins.

Caillou:
hee hee! I'm gonna win!

Martin: we'll see.

Mara, clementine, and emma,

Go wait at the tree
over there.

Once you get your bean bag
from your partner,

You race back.

[Kids laughing]

[Leo and caillou laughing]

Leo: I can run fast!

Caillou: I can run faster.

Martin: ok, boys,

Ready? Steady? Go!

[Kids laughing]

Mara: come on, caillou!

Caillou, come back!

Narrator: caillou was
concentrating so hard

That he forgot to give
mara the bean bag.

Mara: wait, caillou! Wait!

Caillou, come back.

Caillou: hooray! I win!

Mara: caillou, you forgot me.

Martin: mara is right.

So the winners are
the yellow bean bag team,

Clementine and leo!

Clementine and leo:
we win! We win!

Narrator: caillou felt bad that
they had lost because of him.

Clementine: let's race again!

Martin: sure!

Narrator:
caillou liked the idea

He would get another
chance to win.

Caillou:
yeah! And this time, we'll win.

Mara: yeah!
Caillou: hee hee! Yeah!

Leo: look what I can do.

Clementine: wow!

Martin: that could be part
of our next race.

Any other ideas?

Clementine: we can push
the bean bags down the slide!

Martin: good idea!

So, first, bean bags
will go down the slide.

Then the partner walks
the rim of the sandbox

And comes back
to the finish line.

[Kids cheer]

Girls start this time.

Boys, you go wait at
the end of the slide.

Ready? Steady? Go!

[Kids laughing]

Caillou: that's easy!

Whoa! Whoa! Oops.

Leo: hee hee!

Mara: come on, caillou!

Narrator:
it wasn't so easy after all,

But caillou
was determined to do it.

Caillou: I did it!

Martin: the green bean bag
team comes in first!

Emma and xavier
win this time.

Narrator: caillou was proud
to have crossed the sandbox.

He didn't care about winning
the race so much anymore.

[Laughter]

Martin: you all did very well
in the bean bag race.

I have a surprise.

I thought you might like
bean bags of your own.

Kids: jelly beans!

Narrator: jelly beans
were definitely

Caillou's favorite
kind of bean.

And he knew someone else
who just loved them.

[Rosie laughing]

Rosie: rosie want!

Caillou:
first, we have to race.

I need your ball, and you
go to your toy box, ok?

Narrator:
caillou wanted to show rosie

The new game he learned.

Caillou: you say, "go!"

Mom: oh. Ok. Go!

Caillou: hee hee! Go give
the ball to mommy.

[Rosie laughing]

We win!

Our team wins!

Yay!

Some for you...

Rosie: mmm!

Caillou: and some for me!

Some for you...

Mom: thank you!

That was a fun race.
Shall we do it again?

Caillou: we can't.

Mom: why not?

Caillou: hee hee! There are
no more jelly beans to win.

[Caillou chuckles]

Child: ♪ I'm so happy to be me ♪

♪ With my friends
and family ♪

♪ They make me smile,
they help me see ♪

♪ Just how happy I can be ♪

♪ I have a very special toy ♪

♪ It makes me laugh
and brings me joy ♪

♪ I take it everywhere I go ♪

♪ My special toy is fun
to show ♪

♪ I'm so happy to be me ♪

♪ With my friends and family ♪

♪ They make me smile,
they help me see ♪

♪ Just how happy I can be ♪

♪ I love my dog in every way ♪

♪ Because he's my friend,

Narrator: caillou was
helping dust the bookshelves.

He liked doing things
with his daddy.

Dad: hey, look at this!

Caillou: what?

Narrator: when caillou
looked at the picture,

He thought it was
a photo of himself.

Caillou: hee hee!
I look funny, daddy.

Dad: that's not you, caillou.

It's me when I was
four years old.

That's the train set
and the conductor's hat

Grandpa and grandma
gave me for my birthday.

Caillou: can I play with it?

Dad: maybe we can go find it

After we're finished
dusting.

I bet that old train

Is still at grandma
and grandpa's.

Narrator:
caillou didn't want to wait.

He wanted to go find
the train right away.

Then he got an idea.

Caillou: choo-choo!

Let's go for a train
ride, teddy.

[Meow]

[Laughing]

Dad: caillou?

Caillou: choo-choo!

Dad: that's a really nice train.

Are you ready to go
to grandma and grandpa's

To find my old train set?

Caillou: yeah!

Narrator: grandpa
thought the train set

Might be in the basement.

Caillou: not in here.

Dad: nope! Only puzzles.

Grandpa: just blankets.

I'm sure I didn't
throw it out.

It must be around
here somewhere.

Narrator: where could
that train set be?

Caillou, daddy,
and grandpa had looked

In almost every box.

Caillou: look! A hat!

Dad: that's my
old train conductor's hat.

[Grandpa chuckles]

Grandpa: with that hat on,
you look just like your dad

When he was your age, caillou.

Caillou: really?

You try it, daddy.

[Caillou laughing]

Grandpa:
well, look at this!

Caillou: wow!

Dad: looks like we've
found ourselves a train set.

Wonder if it still works.

Grandpa: there's only one way
to find out.

Grandpa:
that's great, caillou!

Did we ever play
with this train.

Caillou: you played, too?

Grandpa: you betcha!

I would hook on
the different cars

To the locomotive.

Caillou: cars?

Grandpa: sure. Those two
passenger cars carry people.

And those two
boxcars carry wood or food.

Dad: here, caillou.

This switch makes
the train work.

Just press on this button

And watch what happens.

All aboard!

Caillou: wow!

Grandpa: remember?

The lights used to go on,

And smoke even came out
of the engine's chimney.

[Whistle blows]

Dad and grandpa:
the whistle still works!

[Dad and grandpa laughing]

[Caillou laughing]

Grandma: I thought I heard
a train whistle.

Narrator: caillou was happy
to have found a game

Daddy and grandpa liked
as much as he did.

Dad: where would you like
the picture to go, caillou?

Caillou: right here, daddy.

All aboard!

[Train whistle blows]

Boy: when
we go out our door,

The world around us is
a farm.

Girl: we take care of it,

And it takes care of us.

I feed my pony,
and he lets me ride him.

In the chicken coop,

We feed the chickens
and they give us eggs.

Boy: bawk-bawk!
Girl: bawk!

Boy: we play a lot,
but when it's time to work,

We all have chores.

[Mooing]

Mine is to feed the cows.

Girl: I guess you know
what they give us.

Boy and girl: milk!

Boy: sometimes I help
my dad and my big brother

Check out the fields.

Time for a snack.

And I bet you know
who gave me the milk.

Boy: the cows!
Girl: the cows!

Boy: mooo!
Girl: ha ha!

[Meow]

Boy: looks like I'm not
the only one who is thirsty!

[Kids laughing]

Mom: lots here.

Girl: I help my mom pick yummy
things, like strawberries.

Mmm!

Mmm! Peas are yummy, too!

They're so good to eat

Just like that,
from the garden!

See you next time!

Caillou: brr!

Daddy, I'm cold!

Narrator: caillou
and his daddy were in a hurry

To get home because
it was cold outside.

[Wind]

Caillou: hee hee!

Look at that funny
little house.

Dad: that's a dog house,
caillou.

[Dog whines]

Caillou: the dog lives there?

Dad: that's right.
Caillou: oh!

Narrator: caillou thought
the dog was lucky

To have his own place
to sleep and play in.

[Meow]

Gilbert!

Dad: come on, now.
You can't sleep there!

[Purring]

Narrator: caillou thought
that gilbert should have

His own house to sleep in,
just like the dog.

Caillou: I'm gonna make
a house for gilbert.

Dad: that's a great idea!

[Meow!]

I'm sure he'd love to have
a place of his own.

Narrator: caillou
found a box he thought

Was just right for gilbert.

Caillou: ok, gilbert,
this one is nice.

[Grunting]

[Meow]

♪ Gilbert... ♪

Come and try it.

[Purring]

[Laughing]

Narrator: caillou thought
the box was perfect.

Caillou: mommy, can gilbert
have this box?

Mom: ha ha. Sure, sweetie.

It looks like he's
moved in already.

[Both laughing]

Narrator: caillou
decided the first thing

That gilbert's house
needed was a front door.

Caillou: and you want some
windows, too,

Right, gilbert?

Narrator: the next step was

To make the house a nice color.

Caillou: pick a color!

Ok, I'll make it red!

[Purring]

Narrator: caillou
thought gilbert was saying

He wanted some blue
on his house, too.

Caillou:
do you like it, gilbert?

Oh, you need a real door.

[Purring]

Dad: there you go, caillou.

One door and two windows.

Caillou:
gilbert needs a bed, too.

Dad: you're right.

I think I may have
something around here.

Why don't you try this?

Narrator:
now caillou was sure

The house was ready
for gilbert.

Caillou: ok, gilbert,
you can go in now.

Narrator: caillou was
worried that gilbert

Didn't like his new house.

Dad: maybe he'd like some
of his things

In there to make
him feel at home.

[Bell inside mouse rings]

Caillou: go get the mouse,
gilbert! Ha ha!

Narrator: caillou was happy

That gilbert liked
his new house.

Rexy: oh, hello!
It's game time again!

Today we're exploring
the world around us.

We're going to travel
by land, sea, and air.

Now rexy,
the world explorer,

Will think of three things
we can use

To travel to faraway lands.

Hmm. Oh! I've got it!

Kids: sailboat!

Rexy: yes! A sailboat that sails

Along the water
with the wind.

Kids: a train!

Rexy: choo-choo!

I would love to travel
around the whole world

On a train!

Kids: an airplane!

Rexy: ooh! I changed my mind!

I would love to travel
around the whole world

In a plane!

Girl: yes!
Boy: hee hee!

Rexy: ok, we're all set.

Now, let's think of
where we can find

A big, big boat,

A choo-choo train,
and an airplane.

Kids: train tracks!

Rexy: yes! And here's
another pretty picture!

Kids: water!

Rexy: yup. Lots and lots
of water.

Here's the last picture.

Kids: the sky!

Rexy: oh, you're so good
at this!

Let's start by taking
the choo-choo train.

All aboard!

[Train whistle blows]

What do you think the train
needs to be able

To take us around the world?

Kids: the train tracks!

Choo-choo!

Rexy: now let's travel by air.

Would we use the boat
to sail through the sky?

Kids: no! The plane!

[Kid imitates plane engine]

Rexy: right you are again.
Ha ha! So what's left?

Girl: the boat!

Kids: the sailboat!

Rexy: ♪ sailing, sailing ♪

♪ To lands near and far ♪

♪ Sailing, sailing ♪

♪ In my brand-new car ♪

Child: no!
Different child: ha ha!

Girl: in the ocean!

Rexy: really? Let's see!

♪ Sailing, sailing ♪

♪ I like sailing, too ♪

♪ Sailing, sailing ♪

♪ In the ocean blue ♪

Child: hee hee!

Rexy: thanks, mates! Wow!

You know, being a world
explorer has tired me out.

I think I'll take
a little rexy nap now.

Well, thank you for
playing with me.

[Snoring]

Child: bye, rexy.
Different child: bye-bye.

Rexy: teddy!

Of all the teddy bears
in the whole wide world,

He's my most favorite!

Ha ha!

Teddy is my favorite
because he's

So much fun to play with.

He needs lots of loving.

Teddy always makes
me feel better.

He's the official
hug authority.

That means he's
the best hugger

In the whole wide world.

Caillou: rosie!

She's my baby sister,
and I love her.

We play games together a lot.

And we have fun!

[Rosie laughing]

I get to show her things
I like.

[Rosie sobbing]

And sometimes I help
take care of her

Because I'm her big brother.

[Caillou laughing]
