Mr. Sparks: It was a great day

for Hero Training,

and my students
were working hard,

even though
they had their ups...

- Too high.

[exclaims]
Getting dizzy.

Mr. Sparks: And their downs.

- [gasps]

- Whoa!

Oh, thanks, Sara.

[stopwatch beeps]
[whistle blows]

Oh, time's up.

- Great job, Sparks' Crew.

Your Hero Training
is really coming along!

- Hey, where'd Benny go?

- [shouting] Benny,
is everything all right?

- What's going on?

- [quietly] You have to see.

It's in there somewhere.

[dog barking]
[laughs]

I don't know
if this dog is friendly.

It's good to be careful

But I can tell
this is a friendly dog.

- It's telling us
with its tail.

When a dog lifts up its tail
and wags it back and forth,

it's letting us know
that it is friendly.

- He's using his tail
to tell us that?

Don't people sometimes

Benny did just a minute ago!

He went like this--

That means "Shh. Quiet."

- Yeah, and then he did this--

And right now

the doggie's tail
is telling us:

"I want to be friends!"

- I didn't know a tail
could talk like that.

- An animal's tail can do
many wonderful things!

- [squeaks]

man: Here, Rollo!

- Bye, doggy!

- Well, that was
a fun distraction.

Now, students, let's head
back to the classroom and--

[alarm beeping]
- The Sparkinator!

- Somebody must need help!

- Jellybean! Come back!

Benny: Looks like
a runaway kitten!

[whooshing]

- Team, we've got to help!

Who's the crew
who knows what to do?

[triumphant music]

all: Sparks' Crew
to the Rescue!

- [squeals]

Mr. Sparks: So I followed
my Sparks' Crew to the park,

where we found
one frightened feline.

[meows]
girl: Jellybean!

[Jellybean meows]

keeps running away!

[bicycle bell rings]
[meows loudly]

- There she goes!

- I shall stop
your cute wittle kitty!

[meows]

- Boy, that kitten's afraid
of everything!

[grunts]

look over there.

- We shall find Jellybean
and bring her back to you!

- Let's do this!

Mr. Sparks: So we started
to search City Town.

But it was a very big place

to find
one very small kitten...

- [singsongy] Jellybean!

Where are you?

- Here, kitty, kitty.

- Here, kitty, kitty.
I'm gonna fly up higher
so I can get a better look.

[gasps]

- [grunts]

- Yeah, I just got
a little dizzy up there.

Maybe I could find Jellybean
if I could fly better.

Like that bird.

Benny: Well, a pretty birdie
like that

has wings and feathers
that help it fly.

- Ah, don't forget
about its tail.

We bird watchers love
observing

such beautiful creatures
in flight.

- Excuse me, what did you say
about the tail?

- The tail helps a bird to fly!

Just twisting it
a little bit

makes it go one way
or the other.

- Whoa! Another cool thing
tails can do.

- I bet if I had a tail
I'd fly better too.

[Jellybean meows]
- [gasps] Lucita.

You hear that?
- [gasps]

[bell jingles]
It's Jellybean!

[device ringing]

- Team!
We just observed Jellybean

heading toward the lake.

[bell jingling]

- Mira!
- We see her!

Okay, let me try this again.

[meows]

[clattering]

[nervous laughter]

Sorry, Mr. Sparks.

I have got to work on my aim.
[sighs]

[gasps] Where did Jellybean go?
[Jellybean meows]

- There she is!

We'd better get
over there fast,

before she runs away again.

- So how does this work?

Mr. Sparks:
All you do is pedal.

The faster you pedal,
the faster you go!

AJ: Whoa, whoa.
Wait, wait, stop.

We're going in a big circle.

How do we steer this thing?

- Uh, let's see.

Ah, with this!
It turns the rudder--

that thing in the back
of the boat.

- How will that help us steer
through the water?

- Look at the fish.

How do they steer?

AJ: Whoa, that fish
used its tail to steer.

I didn't know tails
could do that too.

- Fishtails can.

- So the rudder works
the same way as a fishtail?

- Try it and see!

♪ ♪

AJ: It's working!

I'm steering through the water
like a fish!

- Exactamenté!
Now let's go get that kitten!

- [shouting] To the rescue!

[frightened meow]

- Oops.

- Jellybean's
on the move again.

[device beeps]
- Team, come in.

She's heading into the woods
by the lake.

- We're on our way!

- Let's pedal fast!

[meows]
- Ah!

- Kitty, stop!
We're your friends!

[meows]

[bell jingling]

[Jellybean meows]

- Oh, poor Jellybean!

She's so high up
she can't get back down!

- We must rescue her!

- I'm on it!

Oops! Wrong tree.

[screams]

[wailing]

[sighs]
- That was a close one, Sara.

Anyone else?

- Fear not, kitty!

I shall get you out of trouble.

With a bubble!

Aw, too many pointy branches.

- Lucita, do you think
you could fly up there?

- It is really high.

But I've got to help
that kitten.

Okay, Jellybean,
I'm coming for you!

- She made it!
- Way to go, Lucita!

- Ah, oh!

- Careful, Lucita!

I just won't look down again!

- Can you get to Jellybean?

- I don't know.

This branch is really thin.

I'm not sure I can keep
my balance.

- Hmm.
Hey, look at that squirrel.

[chitters]

It has great balance.

- Yes, how do you think
it does that?

- I think its tail
helped it balance.

Let's observe that again.
Thought projecting!

See, it sticks its tail out
to one side

or the other
so it doesn't fall.

- Sí, tails can help animals
balance!

- I didn't know tails
could do that too.

- Lucita! Maybe you need
something to help you balance!

- But I don't have a tail!

- Hmm.

Maybe if you put your arms out
to one side or the other

it will help you balance.

- Ah! A prediction!
Another superpower of science!

- Well--[exhales]
I can test it out.

[meows]

Okay, Jellybean.
Here I come.

Whoa--oh, whoa.

[wind whooshing]

[screaming]

- You got this, Lucita.

- [nervous mumbling]

Ah! Ah!

- Oh, I can't watch!

- Ah, ah!

- [giggles]

- Jellybean!

- [laughs] That is one way
cats show they're happy.

It kind of tickles.

- [laughing] Oh.

Mr. Sparks: And that's
the tail end of our story.

[school bell ringing]

Mr. Sparks: It was the end
of the school day,

and my hero students
were getting ready

to do something exciting.

Here, little birdie!
[laughs]

Mr. Sparks: [laughing]
No, not practicing bird calls.

Something else exciting.

- It's time!
It's finally time!

I've been waiting and waiting
for the new Arctic Chill movie

to come out, and now
we finally get to see it.

- Thanks for taking us,
Mr. Sparks!

- Well, this hero movie
is perfect

for young heroes
in training!

- I can't wait to see
Arctic Chill in action!

I'm so excited!

- [squeaking]

- [laughs] Aw!

Looks like Fur Blur
is excited to go too!

Well, then: nos vamos!

[exciting music]

♪ ♪

So we all went to
City Town Oneplex,

where there was just
one movie playing.

AJ: "The Adventures
of Arctic Chill!"

Now that is a great hero!

- Uh, what's that gizmo
he's holding?

AJ: It's his Chill Gadget.

Thought projecting!

He uses it to makes things
very cold,

like in the last movie,
when he stopped the lava

from a volcano
by freezing it solid!

- Oh, yeah!

- I made a chill gadget
just like it, see?

- Whoa! That's super cool.

- Yes. That's why it's called
a Chill Gadget.

[leaf blower whirring]
[gasps]

Leaf blower! Too loud!

[uneasy muttering]
Breathe, AJ.

[exhaling slowly]

- Let's go inside
where it's quiet.

- Good thing
we got here early--

both: What?
both: Huh?

[dramatic music]

Lucita: What happened here?

Mr. Sparks: I'm not sure.

- Maybe we could use
a little S.O.S.,

you know, our...

all: Superpowers of Science!

- Let's start by observing.
What do we notice?

- Huh.

Uh, I notice that some things
are in a strange shape.

- Yeah, I think that used to be
the ticket line,

but the poles
are all bent.

- And I notice
this door handle

looks strange too.
[door opens]

- Oh!
[sizzling]

- Whoa, what's happening
to that broom handle?

- Oh, these heat hands!
- Wait!

I know you.
You're Stevie Heat!

- Oh! Mr. Sparks! Hi.

- Team, this is Stevie Heat.

He used to be my student.

His superpower is fascinating:

he can make heat
with his hands.

- Yeah, but I can't
always control it.

When I get nervous,
my hands heat right up.

And I'm really nervous,

because today's
my first day working here.

- So that's why
the broom handle

turned to liquid
in your hands.

Sara: Looks like it just melted
to me.

- Well, that's
what melting is--

heating something solid
and turning it into a liquid.

- Oh.

So, was it your heat hands

that melted
all these things?

- Um, yeah.

And if this place
isn't ready in time

for the big movie to start,
I'll lose my job.

On my very first day!

Ah! Oh, no!

- Stevie is so upset.
He needs our help, team.

- Fear not, for we shall
help you clean this place up!

- Well, who's the crew
who knows what to do?

[triumphant music]

all: Sparks Crew
to the Rescue!

- [sneezes]
- [gasps]

- [squeaking]

[squeaks]
- Oh, no!

- Fur Blur!
- Oh, no!

- I shall save you, Fur Blur!

- Fur Blur!

[all exclaiming]
[crashing]

[vacuum whirring]

- [squeaks nervously]

- Oh, no!

[dramatic music]

- [squeaks happily]

- So much for the vacuum.

- Look, it actually cleaned
this place up.

[shimmering, dazzling music]

Stevie: Wow!
Thanks, everyone!

- Now we have just enough time
to get some snacks

and choose the perfect seats
before the movie starts.

I will order my usual, please:

popcorn, no butter, no salt.

- Coming right up!
[grunts]

- Wait, I thought AJ asked
for popcorn.

What are those thingies?

- Hmm? Oh! Corn kernels.

That's what popcorn looks like
before it pops.

[rattling]

all: Whoa!

- Careful, the popcorn popper
is hot.

- Uh-huh!
When the corn kernels heat up,

they change into popcorn.

- Oh! The corn pops
into pop-corn!

- [squeaking]

- I bet Fur Blur loves popcorn,
too.

Don't you, girl?

- [squeaks happily]

- I'll take popcorn too,
please.

- Okay.
- Oh, wait.

Maybe I'll have frozen yogurt
instead.

No, popcorn!

No, froyo!

Popcorn! Froyo! Popcorn! Froyo!
- Uh, what? Uh, okay.

- Popcorn! Froyo! Popcorn!

[sizzling]

Stevie: Oh, no!

My hot hands melted the handle!

It's stuck
in the "On" position!

Ah! I can't turn it off!

- It's going to make
another mess!

But we just cleaned up!

- Team, we've got to catch
that froyo! Come on!

[dramatic music]

♪ ♪

- We're running out of cups!

- The froyo won't stop!

How are we ever going to get it
to stop?

- [gasps]
Isn't that the stop button?

- Oh. Yeah.

[powering down]

- Oh. Thanks for helping.

Now what do I do
with all this froyo?

- Well, I guess someone's gonna
have to eat it.

both: Mm-hmm.

- Okay. Uh, here, everyone.
My treat.

- Mmm-mm!
- Ooh.

- Thank you, Stevie!
- Yum!

- Oh, no!

- Uh, this frozen yogurt
doesn't look frozen anymore.

- Aw, yeah,
it's all liquid-y and melt-y.

- Oh. These heat hands.

- [gasps] I think I have a plan
to solve this problem.

- Ah! Planning is another great
superpower of science!

- Thought projecting!

The yogurt was frozen before,

but then the heat melted it.

So maybe making it cold
can freeze it again.

- But what can freeze it fast?

- My Chill Gadget!

It's just like the one
Arctic Chill uses

to make things super cold!

[powering up]

- Oh!

- [gasps]

- Whoa! It turned the melted
froyo back into frozen froyo!

- Mmm!
- So good!

- Frozen and delicious!

- Thank you for helping.
Again.

- You're welcome.

- I guess I can put
these corn kernels away now.

[grunts]
Huh?

Oh! Oh, no!

Ah, ah! Oh, no!

- Oh, no!

- Stevie's heat hands
are making the kernels pop!

- [yelps]
- He's a human popcorn popper!

[pinball dinging noises,
clattering]

- [squeaking]

- Oh, I wish I could get
these heat hands under control,

but I get so nervous!

- Try breathing deep, Stevie.

It's what I do
when I get nervous.

Like this.
[inhales slowly]

And out.
[exhales]

[both breathing deeply]

- Hey, this does feel
pretty good.

- Check it out.

When Stevie calms down,

his hands cool down.

- That gives me an idea!

If heating made
the corn kernels pop,

maybe cooling will make them
go back to the way they were!

♪ ♪

Hm. They didn't turn back
into corn kernels.

- So maybe some things can
go back to the way they were

and some things can't.

- Once a kernel pops,
it's popcorn forever.

[popcorn rustling]
[both gasp]

- [squeaks]

- Or at least until someone
eats it.

Wait a minute!
That gives me an idea!

I'll be back in a snap!

I borrowed this from
the leaf blower guy outside.

- Oh, no.
Not that thing again!

- It's okay, AJ.
This time I've got a plan.

Lucita, AJ,
you hold open the doors.

Here we go!

[leaf blower whirring]

Now Benny: time for
a super loud bird call!

- Tweet, tweet!

[pigeons cooing]

- Hey, it's working!

The birds are eating
the popcorn!

[cooing]

- See? They like it
with no butter and no salt too!

- I can't believe
you cleaned it all up!

- Remember,
whenever you get nervous,

just breathe
to help you calm down.

- [sighs] Got it.
