and stuff like that.

- Hmmm... I know!

We could use our bodies
to make numbers,

while pointing to what we want.

- OK!

- Whoa!

I think she's trying
to tell us something.

- Seems like she just said hello
and that her name is Dot.

- Cool!

Dot communicates
with her hands!

- And the way she moves
her eyebrows also helps you

know what she's saying.

We can use our fingers to show
how much of each we want.

some of the shape pieces

got knocked off our ship
when we landed.

And without all the shapes,

I don't think
our ship can take off.

We've got
a REALLY BIG PROBLEM!

Our ship lost
some important shape pieces

when we landed.
We need to find them

and put them back in place
to get back home.

According to this meter,
we're missing three triangles,

three pentagons,
and three squares.

She wants to help us!

that shows where stuff goes.

- Uh-oh!

Our diagram got torn
when we landed.

If we don't place
the pieces just right,

our ship will never work again!

We'll be stuck in space forever!

And we'll never go home!

- (Peg and Cat):
We are TOTALLY FREAKING OUT!

- Dot wants us to count with her

to calm down.
- OK.

- Um, Peg, I think she's got
the countdown thingie wrong.

- No, Cat! Dot figured out how
to place the pieces.

We just need
to follow the pattern.

- Huh?!
- A pattern is something

that repeats in a certain order
over and over again.

Look, it goes
three-sided figure - triangle;

five-sided figure - pentagon;

three-sided figure - triangle;

four-sided figure - square!

Triangle, pentagon,
triangle, square!

So we don't
need a diagram,

we just need
to know the pattern.

- You amazing, doteriffic,
pattern-finding alien, you!

- All right everybody,
