A mermaid in a mall!

- Welcome to the Mega Mall!

I'm Peg, this is Cat,
that's my mom,

and we've come to the mall...
- Yay!

- But not for
the cool games or toys.

- Aww.
- Today we're here for the--

- Furniture store!

- Where you can buy stuff for
any room in your house.

- Oooh!
(giggling)

To my Mom, shopping for a chair

is like this
totally exciting thing.

- What do you think,
Peg? This one?

Or this one?

- They're all really nice, Mom.
- We're looking at chairs?

- This means a lot
to my mom, Cat.

So even if it's not
our favorite thing,

we have to try
to care about chairs.

- There's a chair I care about!
- Cat loves that vibrating
chair.

- Aaah...
- Don't make it go too fast.

(beeping)
- Aaah...

(screaming)
(crashing)

- We look, but we don't touch.
And that way,

we don't knock things over, OK?

- We have to shop without
touching stuff?!

- It's not gonna be easy, right?

(trumpets)

- (woman): ♪ Help, knights of
the round table ♪

- Did you hear that, Cat?
- Yes.

- We have to find a round table
so we can run around it

and become knights
of the round table!

- Wait, Cat!

The top of a round
table is round,

like a circle,
with no straight sides.

-This table has two straight
sides going across.

And two going up and down.

All four sides
are the same length.

So this table is square.
- Unlike this one! A--

- Wait! This table has sides
going across like a square.

But these sides aren't going
straight up and down.

One's tilted one way,
the other's tilted another way.

And some of the sides are
longer than the others.

They're not all the same.
So this table's not a square.

- Score!
- But it's not a circle either,

since it has straight sides.
- Oh.

- It's a trapezoid.
- What is it with these tables?

- They all have straight sides!

we can't become knights

We've got a BIG PROBLEM!

- And now I'm rolling
on a table.

- If the table's rolling,

If it had straight sides
it couldn't roll!

like tubes of drapes ♪

♪ These paper weights,

- Some of the mermaid's missing
shapes are pyramids.

Solid shapes with triangles
on their sides.

And some are cubes. Solid shapes
with squares on their sides.

- So how many sparkly shapes
we lookin' for?

- I dunno. Maybe five?

- ♪ We head off on our quest ♪

- ♪ The knights
will never rest ♪

- ♪ Until we find your shapes ♪

- ♪ Your spar--
- --kly shapes ♪

- ♪ We'll find your shapes
- As sure as tapes ♪

♪ Stick grapes to drapes
- Did they fly away ♪

♪ Like capes?

(bubbling)

- I don't know how
my sparkly shapes got away.

All I know is, I lost them
somewhere in the store.

- The mermaid can never
leave the water.

So she must have lost them
in the tub!

- But before I was in this
little tub, I was in...

...this big tub...

...this hot tub...

...this water bed...
- She's been in everything

but the kitchen sink!
- That too!

- We have to search
the entire store?

- The knights of
the round table have a--

- Really big problem!
(dramatic music)

- Sir Cat!
- Huh?

- I spied something sparkly
in the closet cave!

- ♪ To the cave, to the cave,
to the cave, to the cave ♪

- Hello.
- O dragon of closet cave!

Have you any
sparkly pyramids or cubes?

- Nothin' but spheres in here.

- Spheres are round, like balls.
They don't have flat sides,

like the shapes we seek.
- ♪ I lovey-love the spheres ♪

♪ In the Land of Mall ♪

♪ Bouncy or floaty,
lovey-love them all ♪

That chair looks nice too.

(crashing)
- Oopsie.

- You broke my favorite chair.

- Sir Cat!
- Wuh?

- I spied cubes
by the toad stool!

- ♪ To the stool, to the stool,
to the stool, to the stool ♪

- Oh, toad on your toad stool.

Have you any sparkly cubes?

- Nope. I got
a cube with spots...

A cube with a head...
(jingling)

(yelling)
- Are you OK, Sir Cat?

- I don't know.
I'm seeing sparkles!

- A sparkly triangle!

- A sparkly square!

- You have found many sparkly
shapes, you genius knight!

- Hell-oo! Those are flat.
We need solid.

- But you can put flat shapes
together to make solid shapes.

- This I gotta see!

- One, two,

three, four triangles
can make...

- A pyramid!

- One, two, three, four,

five, six squares can make...

- A cube!

- We found two of the mermaid's
sparkly shapes!

- Go knights! All right!
Go knights!

All right! Go knights--
- Uh, knights...

- My sparkly shapes are gone!

- Again!
- (all): Nooo!

- Pe-eg! You about ready to go?

- We can't go until we've found

the Mermaid's
sparkly shapes, Mom!

- Can't she find her own shapes?
- No.

- OK, I'll pick out
some seat covers.

But then we really gotta go.
- You're leaving?

- Without finding my shapes?!

- We are...
- (all): Totally freaking out!

- ♪ Look what's coming near ♪

- ♪ Behold the sparkly sphere ♪

- ♪ Wizard Ramone ♪

- I heard your cries
at Forever Twelve.

- Oh, wise wizard.
Our quest to find

the mermaid's missing shapes
is getting nowhere!

- The important thing
is to stay calm

so you can keep doing your best.

- That vibrating chair
would help us relax.

- Too bad somebody
broke it... Hmph.

- I can take care of that.

- Ohh yeahh!

- Thanks, Ramone!
- I do what I can!

(grunting)
- Don't touch that--

- Button?
(yelling)

(crashing)
- Cat!

- Nothing to see here. Back to
your shopping, everybody.

Come on. Shop shop.
- ♪♪ Halt, O store person ♪

♪ Who was hiding
behind the counter ♪

♪ Do I spy you wearing
sparkly trapezoids? ♪

- ♪ Maybe
- Who cares about trapezoids? ♪

♪ I have no use for trapezoids ♪

- But why would a furniture
store guy go to all that trouble

to get trapezoids?
- Because, Sir Cat,

the furniture store guy
is also...

The Painting Proble-em!

- I'm Peg Casso
and this is Vincent van Goo.

- Bonjour.
- That means hi there in French.

We are totally
world famous artists,

known for our amazing
style of painting.

- People know us?
- Yep, because we paint

with shapes! Regard!
That means look.

This lady is made of cubes.

We call the style "cube-ism."

- This flower is made of
squares. We call it...

- Square-ism?
- Bingo!

And these. Triangle-ism!

- Even triangle-and-circle-ism!

- There is nothing
we can't paint.

- I don't do bathrooms...
I can, but I, I won't.

- Ah, Peg Casso and Van Goo.

- The Countess de Viv!

- Bonjour! That means hi.
- We know.

- I have a special
guest visiting,

and I must have
my fancy French mansion

completely painted
before he arrives.

- I see!
- I already have a famous artist

painting the walls. But I need
someone to paint a picture of me

on the ceiling. Ha ha!

- We're someone!
- We're some two!

- We'll do it!
- Hold your hors d'oeuvres.

First I'll need you to paint
a small picture of me

as a test. Right now.

- We've never had to paint
under pressure before!

This is a BIG PROBLEM!

- (singsong): Famous painters,

- Here's the famous painter

who's painting the walls.
- Jackson Pig!

- As do I! I own one of his
most famous paintings.

- Magnifique!
That's French for--

- "Bleh?"
- "Magnificent!"

But will he have
these walls covered

before your guest arrives?

- Oh, I'm sure he'll start
painting any second now.

(high wail)
Ahh!

He's gone into
a creative trance!

- Or, uh, something.
- I'm off to pick up

my famous guest.
My servant Mac will get you

all the paint you need!

Oh, and it better be perfect.

No pressure.

- Ok, Van Goo. To paint a
masterpiece in our famous style,

we need to use the exact same
amount of each color.

- Mac!
- Oui oui? Meaning yes?

- We need five cans each
of red, blue, yellow,

brown, purple and green paint.

- Very good, mademoiselle.

- We'll use our small painting
of the Countess to guide us

as we paint the big one.
Let's start with purple!

- Up we goo!

- ♪ Square
- Circle ♪

- ♪ Square
- Circle ♪

- ♪ And one more there
- Circle ♪

- Jackson Pig has painted
a masterpiece!

- You call that a masterpiece?

- You gotta work fast to
keep up with that guy!

- ♪ And then another pair
- Circle ♪

- Another work of genius! How?!

- I could do that in my sleep!

- But he does do it in his
sleep... by sleepwalking!

- Right into our paint!
- This is a REALLY

BIG PROBLEM!
(high-pitched wail)

We gotta stop him, Van Goo!

- It's goo time!

- Come back here!
- He went that way.

- Over here! Oof!

And also ick.

- GOTCHA!

- Quick!
Drop cloth for a blanket!

- Fluffy pillow!
(snoring)

He is down.

- So are lots of cans
of our paint!

- We can ask Mac
for more, right?

- But how many more?
We've got one,

two, three, four cans
of red still standing.

One, two, three blue.

- One, two brown. And one green.

- We need five of every color!

- So what do we tell Mac?
- That's it, you genius Cat!

A number line will tell us
how many cans we need!

- Huh?
- Starting with red...

♪♪ We know that
we have four cans ♪

♪ But we must have five cans ♪

♪ So how many more cans? ♪

- Uh...
- ♪ If there's already ♪

♪ Four cans,
then to get to five cans ♪

♪ We will need one more can ♪

- ♪ One two three four ♪

♪ To get to five

- One more red, please, Mac!

- Voila. Meaning, here ya go!

three more should do it.

- We're doing the Can-Can!

- We can!
We have only one green,

so we need one, two, three,

- I'm all over it.

- Thanks, Mac.

- Now let's finish our painting

before he wakes up.
(wailing)

- It's magnifique!
- It's miraculous!

- It's tuna fish!
What? I like tuna fish.

- But it's missing something...
the Countess's purple hat!

- Purple paint, coming up!

(crashing)
Or not...

- Our purple paint!

Jackson Pig has done it again!

- We need four more cans
o' purple, Mac!

- (Countess): Oh!
It's such an honor

to have you as my guest,
Your Famousness...

- The famous guest is here!

Hurry, Mac!
- I'm all outta purple paint.

I only got red, yellow and blue.

- But the Countess's hat
MUST be purple!

The great Peg Casso is

TOTALLY FREAKING OUT!

(horn)
(whistle)

Vincent Van Goo is right.
I should count backwards

from five to calm down.

- Ugh. I'm all Van Gooey.

- That's it,
you amaaazing genius!

You added blue paint
to red and got purple!

Blue plus red equals purple.

- How do you like that!
- We can make all

the purple paint we need
with red plus blue.

Hurry!

chickens out of the coop,

he'll be mad! They'll be sad.

I'll feel bad.

I'm totally freaking out!

(horn)

- So Peg, when you freak out,
you look pretty silly, right?

what I looked like!

- I freak out because I care

and then I calm down
and solve the problem.
