Friend Problem."

I had an imaginary friend,
when I was little.

Quiet, Christopher the
ballet dancing space goat!

(chuckling): Baaaa!

(dramatic, epic music)

(bird of prey cawing)

- Hey! I'm Peg
and this is Cat,

and we're in
the prehistoric valley

to have a picnic
with our friend Stegosaurus.

- Mmrph!
- Steg and I made up

a special dance. We call it...
- Mmrph--

- ...ing, because
all Steg can say is:

- Mmrph.
- And I like finishing

people's sentences!
- It's true!

She does it all the--
- ...time!

- I was actually gonna
say: live long day.

- So let's do some
- Mmrph--

- ...ing!
- Mmrph! Mmrph! Mmrph!

- Cat, do you want
to dance with us?

- No thanks, I'm dancing
with Minkus Berry Whitkins.

- Ooh. Minkus is
Cat's imaginary friend.

He's an invisible monkey!
- He prefers the term

"visibility challenged."
- Mmprh! Mmrph!

- Great idea,
Steg! Let's swirl

in a circle
and make a zero!

- Minkus, may I have this swirl?

- Look at that!
Two perfect zeros!

- Minkus loves
their round shapes!

- Phew! All that
- Mmrph--

- ...ing made me hungry!
Let's have our picnic!

Now let's dig in.

We're eating carrots! Cat,
you've got a big appetite,

so you get a big pile!
And I've got a bigger appetite,

so I get a bigger pile.
And Steg's got

the biggest appetite,
so she gets the biggest pile!

Now let's dig in!
- Hang on a second!

Aren't we forgetting someone?
- Oh right...

I forgot Minkus.
- Hoo! He likes carrots too!

And his appetite
is as big as mine!

And you're all out of carrots!
This is a BIG PROBLEM!!

- Mmrph!
- I know,

we'll just take
some of our carrots,

and give them to Minkus!
- Oh thanks, Peg!

Um, but he's over there.
- Oh, sorry, Minkus.

♪ Problem solved!
The Mmm... solved! ♪

♪ We solved the problem-- ♪
- Hey!

Steg ate Minkus's carrots!
- Mmrph!

- Steg says she's sorry, Cat.
- "Sorry?"

There's an invisible monkey
with an empty stomach and a rash

and all you can
say is "sorry"?!

- He has a rash?
- All over his tuchus.

- Mmrph.
- Cat, Steg is sorry,

but is it such
a big deal? I mean,

Binkus isn't actually real.
- His name is...MINKUS!

Not Binkus! Though
Binkus is actually

his middle name. But you
couldn't have known that

because I just decided it now!
Because it turns out

I like the name Binkus! Come on,
Minkus Binkus Berry Whitkins,

we'll have our own picnic.

- Cat, wait!

- Cat! Caaat!!

- Horn!
- Whoah!

That springy plant
just sh*t my carrot

way into the forest!
- Mmrph!

- Hey, Cat's footprints
stop right at the plant!

Triceratops, did Cat
step on the plant

and get thrown into the forest?
- Horn, horn, horn.

- So that means Cat
could be anywhere in there!

This is a REALLY BIG PROBLEM!!

(dramatic music)
- Cat probably landed

in the far corner of the forest.

That's where the
springy plant sends stuff.

- Whoa! You can say
more than horn!

I keep forgetting.
- It's understandable.

- So you think Cat flew
into the forest like the carrot?

- Yep. In fact,
that carrot

should be hitting him
on the head right about...

- (from afar): Ow!

- Do you know how
to get to the far corner

of the forest, Triceratops?
- Not off the top of my head,

but you should take my map.

- Off the top
of my head!

That is a map
of the whole forest.

- OK, so we have to get
from this corner,

where the springy plant is,
all the way

to that corner,
with the really tall tree.

First we'll pass
by sticky flowers.

- Hang on. Doesn't it say " "
next to the sticky flowers?

- No because that circle
next to the

is the number zero.
- But doesn't zero mean "none?"

- Yes, but there's
more to it than that.

♪♪ Zero is the least
of anything that there can be ♪

♪ But if you put that little
zero right after a three ♪

♪ The number gets much bigger
now thirty's what you've got ♪

♪ So if you put it here-o ♪

♪ Small as it may appear-o ♪

♪ That little number zero ♪

♪ Can really do a lot ♪♪

- I don't get it.
- OK, look!

There are ten sticky
flowers on each plant.

That's , , flowers!

And here are flowers.

... !
- Ohh. is more.

- Way more! Whoa!

I just tripped
over that ridge!

- This is a ridge too far.
- Hey, this ridge

isn't on the map!
Maybe because...

it wasn't a ridge!
It was Brachiosaurus!

Yaa! Anyone ever tell you

your horn plate is
great for map reading?

- I get that a lot, yes.

- These plants are all
made out of solid shapes!

- Mmrph!
- ♪♪ Look at all ♪

♪ These shapely
prehistoric organisms ♪

♪ Cubic trapezoidal
even rectangular prisms ♪

♪ The stems are
all cylindrical ♪

♪ Which means they're
shaped like tubes ♪

- ♪ The map says we'll be
passing by Four green ♪

♪ Spotted cubes ♪♪
- Mmrph?

- Four? Lemme see that...

Actually, Triceratops,
it says four hundred

green, spotted cubes. See,
this time we have two zeroes.

One zero after a four
makes it forty.

But two zeroes,
makes it four hundred!

Here they are!
- Each bush

should have cubes.
- So let's count!

Here are four cubes.

is way more than !

Two little zeroes after a number
make a big difference!

- Mmrph!
- Now where do we go-- Oof!

A hill? There's
no hill on the map!

Unless... Brachiosaurus!

- Horn!
- Mmrph!

- Whoa!
- You've gotta stop doing that.

- Oof! Where am I? Hey!

It's the really tall tree!
And Cat's at the top!

- Peg! You're here!

What a re-leaf! Get it?

- No!
- Because leaves. On trees.

- Oh!
- See, he gets it!

- Well don't worry, Cat,
we'll get you down!

How's Minkus,
by the way?

- He's fine, thanks.
He asks how you are.

- I'm fine, thanks.
- He says good, good.

- We can't reach
Cat from here,

and the tree's too
high for him to jump!

- Mmrph.
- Steg, that's it!

You made steps by putting
these rocks in height order.

Maybe if we stand
in height order,

Cat can use us as steps
to climb down from the tree.

- I'm pretty tall,
so I'll stand here.

Steg is even taller,

so she'll stand here.

And Triceratops,
you're the tallest,

so you stand there!
- It's...too far!

I can't reach!

- Oh no! We still
can't get Cat down!

And if we can't get Cat down,

then who'll be my best friend,

always ready with a
cool song or a warm hug?

A Peg without a Cat
is no Peg at all!

I AM TOTALLY
FREAKING OUT!!

(little musical noises)

You're right,
Stegosaurus.

I should lean against this hill
and count backwards

from to calm down. ,

(gasping): That's it!
Brachiosaurus!

You're the tallest
dinosaur I know!

If you stand between
Steg and the tree,

Cat could get down.
What do you say, old pal?

- It can't answer you
because it's a hill.

- What?! I was sure it was
gonna be Brachiosaurus!

- She is always where
you least expect her.

- That's true!
So maybe if we look

where we don't expect her
to be, she'll be there!

- This is getting
a little weird!

Brachiosaurus ♪

♪ I don't wonder
where you could be ♪

Whoa!!
- ♪ I don't think that you're ♪

♪ Waiting for us ♪
- Mmrph!
- Horn!

- ♪ I don't think
your leg is this tree ♪

♪ I feel like
a backwards detective ♪

♪ Whose directive
is not to detect ♪

♪ Of every dinosaur, you are ♪

- (together): ♪ The one
we least expect ♪♪

- Brachiosaurus!

Now let's line up
in height order!

- The stairway to
the treetop is complete!

- Don't be scared,
Minkus. Hold my hand!

- ♪ Problem solved ♪
- Mmrph!

♪ The problem is solved ♪
- Mmrph!

♪ We solved the problem ♪

- ♪ Minkus says
everything's awesome ♪

- ♪ Problem solved ♪
- Mmrph!

- Thanks for rescuing me, Peg,

but I'm still a little upset
about how you treat Minkus.

- What do you mean?
- I know he can't eat

real carrots, or play with real
toys, or take real antibiotics

for the rash all over
his tuchus since he's imaginary.

But still, I wish you wouldn't
always leave him out.

- That's it! You drew
a zero, you amazing Cat!

And that's how we can
always include Minkus:

by offering him
zero of everything!

- Peg, that's brilliant!

♪ An invisible monkey
who's not really real ♪

♪ Can be tricky
to deal with fairly ♪

- ♪ If you give him a bit
of your favorite treat ♪

♪ Do you think he'll eat it?

- He isn't real ♪

- ♪ That's undisputed ♪

- ♪ But Minkus should
still feel included with ♪

for the monkey ♪

♪ Who has none of everything? ♪

- (all): ♪ Zeeeeeee-ro
- Mmrph! ♪

- He's the most incredible
dancer I've ever seen!

- Go, Minkus! Go, Minkus!

It's your birthday!
You're invisible!

- Did he just do a
standing triple back flip?

- Oh, quadruple, at least!
- Those animators

really went all out on this one!
- Spared no expense!

(chuckles)

- Live from the tree, it's:

- (together):
♪ Amazing People! ♪

♪ The show where we
interview Amazing People ♪

- Today on Amazing People:

they're wild,
they're crazy,

- The Pirates!

- So, pirates, did you want
to tell us a humorous story?

- Or sing a pirate song?

- We're nervous.

interviewed before.

these crazy pirates in action!

How about those pirates!

- They sing, they dance...

- Except when you're
interviewing them.

- Then, you get nothing.
- Mommy!

- (giggling): I guess that's

- (together): Amazing People!

(guitar notes)

That's why when Peg
and Cat showed up

Oh how my heart leapt!

- So I'm Peg, this is Cat
and that's Romeo.

- Whose heart is
jumping up and down.

- Romeo loves
talking in rhyme.

- Especially about
Juliet! Hmm!

- We promised to meet each other
between our balconies!

- With you two friends
to help us out,

we'll meet
between with ease!

- Romeo and Juliet want to meet

right between their balconies.
Up above this wall.

- So glorious will be the scene!

Not on her side, or my side,

but right between!
- Whoa-ho!

- Wall below Sky above!
I'll sit by Juliet.

- Aww!
- His lovey-dovey-dove!

- So give your
trusty rope a toss

to make a horizontal line,
going straight across!

- But I feel that
something will go wrong!

I've been having big
problems all day long!

That will stop me
from reaching Juliet!

- Like what?
- A rain cloud

has covered up the sun!

- The cloud moved on.
- Problem done!

- Those vines in front
of my window blew!

- Brushed aside!
- Problem through!

- Outside my window's
a dinosaur.

- A dinosaur outside his window!

(chuckles)
- Good one, Romeo!

I'm laughing too
hard to even rhyme!

- What rhymes with
dinosaur anyway?

- Shine a floor?
- China store?

- Time to snore!
(liquid sound)

- (both): YAAAA!

- It's Brachiosaurus!

- Whenever you don't expect her,
ha ha! ...there she is!

- Yep, Romeo. There's
a dinosaur outside your window.

- Crueller words
were never spoken!

- His promise to Juliet
might be broken!

- Our meeting between
will never come!

- You've got a
REALLY BIG PROBLEM!

- (dramatically, all)

- Oh sun! Oh moon!
Oh stars! Oh Venus!

A dinosaur has come between us!

- If I don't reach
Juliet I can't go on!

Uh, Peg? Cat?
Where have you gone?

- Down here! We have a plan
to clear the way for you!

- So you can get
to you-know-who!

Eh? Eh?

- So like, is anybody
here a plant eater?

'Cause Romeo's yard
has some tasty leaves.

Green and juicy!

- Mmm! Oh, that is
good foliage! Mmm!

Open up the hangar!
Numma-numma-nummy!

Num-num-num!

- Quick, Romeo!
While she's eating!

The horizontal line!

- Come rope! Good rope!
Oh precious rope!

- Upon that rope
rests all our hope!

- He's tying one end
to his balcony.

- I've got a really
good feeling about this!

- But he threw
the other end

down to the ground!
- OK, bad feeling.

- ♪ Oh line that's horizontal ♪

♪ The line that is the best ♪

- Uh, Romeo...

- Juliet! For whom
I long so dearly!

and whine and frown.

the geometry!

- The big words are flying!
- And so is he!

- Weeee!

- Geometry is like
lines and shapes and...

- Uh, Peg? Somebody's
done eating...

- Wait a minute,
young lady.

Where do you think you're going?

Sure you ate
some green leaves...

- A whole lot of green leaves!

- ...but you didn't finish
your brown leaves, did you?

- The crunchy brown
ones are the best!

See? Ah, hm!

(spitting and groaning)

- I'm back with the rope
and ready to throw!

- Someone else is back!
- (Romeo and Juliet): Oh no!

- Don't worry, we've
got another plan

for getting her head
down low.

- (together): ♪♪ Rockabye dino ♪

♪ On the tree-top ♪

♪ When the bough bends ♪

♪ The cradle will rock ♪

- ♪ As will the entire planet ♪

- OK, Romeo!
- Go for it!

- I tie this end so it's secure

and hurl this end
further than before!

- He's throwing it
all the way across!

- (all): YAAAY!

- (Cat): Boo!
- The other end

didn't make it across!
It landed in the middle.

- I hope Romeo realizes
it's not hori--

- ♪ Horizontal ♪
- Oh well.

- ♪ It's taking me to her ♪

- Romeo!
- ♪ So horizontal ♪

- Not really.
- ♪ None horizontal-er ♪

Juliet! Brighter than sunshine!

Cleaner than soap!
Did the rope that's our hope

bring me to you?
- Nope!

- NOOO!
- My heart is like

a flower that's wilted.
- My horizontal line is tilted!

- Your line isn't
horizontal at all, Romeo!

- It's not going
straight across!

- It's not
vertical, either.

- It's not going
up and down!

I'm starting to
really get this stuff!

- It's diagonal!
- Diagonal?!

- Diagonal! Meaning?

- Tilted, like this,

or this, or this!

- My diagonal line
I'll quickly climb!

- Oh Romeo! Get it
right, this time!

- He's pulling it up.
- And throwing it far!

- Horizontal line,
there you are!

- He did it!
(Cat gasps.)

- Don't wake up NOW, dinosaur!
(little growl)

- (P and C): ♪ Rockabye dino
on the tree top ♪

- At last!
♪ It's horizontal ♪

- ♪ It's not diagonal ♪

- ♪ It isn't vertical ♪

- ♪ That's gonna hurt-ical ♪

- (Peg): Romeo!
- (Cat): Juliet!

Are they finally giving up?
- Not yet!

That promise to meet
in the middle,

I too did make it!

Not even a dinosaur

will make me break it!
- Go girl!

- Woo hoo!
- (P and C): JULIET! JULIET!

- Let's coax her down lower!
- We'll gently shove!

- When she's below,
we can go above!

- You can't really squish
a dinosaur down, can you?

- They don't flatten like
pancakes, is the problem.

- Then high up into the sky
we'll throw her!

- When she's above,
we'll go below her!

- Nobody can lift
a dinosaur, right?

And throw it into the sky?
- Maybe like, uh,

if it's a baby dinosaur, and you
have a bunch of friends helping,

and, eh, they're
super heroes.

- This curtain rod
will serve us best

We'll go around
our prehistoric guest!

- They're not right between
the balconies, right?

- Closer to hers
than his.

Now they're closer
to his than hers!

- Still not right
in the middle.

- And now they're
getting desperate.

- We're too high!
- Too low!

- Whichever way we swing...

not happen-ing!

- My promise is broken,
like a tub that's leaking!

- My heart is shrieking!

- The saddest words
those guys are speaking!

- (both): Totally out
we two are freeea-king!

(little musical noises)

- Cat's right. You guys
gotta take a deep breath

and count backwards from five.

- (together): , ,

and rising up genius!

- Uh... Let me down please!

Ow.

- And why is the green-ness
between us a genius?

- Good one, Juliet!
- Check it out.

You two want to be
between the balconies, right?

- Indeed!
- 'Tis true.

- But the dinosaur's head
is between the balconies.

- 'Tis true.
- Indeed!

- And so, you gotta
head to the head!

- (together): Totally!

- Could you give us
a diagonal line, please?

- That's the one
that goes like this.

- Walk this way.

- Now if you could make
your back horizontal.

- That's one of these bad boys.

- Let's have the neck
be diagonal!

And now, vertical!

- Take it straight up!

- With the sky above
and the earth below...

- ...I'm between the balconies
with my Romeo!

- Thanks to
horizontal, vertical,

and diagonal lines,
they kept their promises!

- Math can make
dealing with a dinosaur

just fine for sure.

- Good one, Cat!
- And so...

- (both): ♪ Problem solved
the problem is solved ♪

- ♪ They solved our problem
- So everything is ♪

♪ Like the ground is ♪

Who's cheering?!
- I have no idea.

- We get this a lot, actually.

- Diagonal! Horizontal!

Vertical! Horizontal!

- (gasping): She's gone!
Disappeared!

- The brachiosaurus shows up
where you don't expect her.

That's her thing.
- I expected her to be there,

so she's not there. Huh!

- And she's back.

- You again!
I did not expect that!

But I do expect
that branch to break.

(cracking sound and chuckles)
