This way.
(COUGHS)

You're fine. You're fine. You're OK.

They have medicine here.

She'll be OK.
(COUGHS WEAKLY)

There must be another way out.

OK, come on.

We've got to get her to a hospital.
Charlotte, it's Emily.

Try to stay awake, Charlotte.

When I'm gone...

look after him.

He needs looking after.

Emily.

Ethan...

I'm sorry.

This is all your fault.

How long have you got?

Months.

Weeks, maybe.

We'll talk to another doctor, get a
second opinion.

Matthew, I'm dying, you can't fix
this.

No, but you can fight it, we can
b*at this.

You remind me of myself when I was
that age.

Stubborn, headstrong.

Not quite so good-looking.

You'll be all right here,
without me.

You're close now.

Close?

I'm in complete darkness.

I mean, it might be Philip, but I'm
not sure.

Connor's smart, but... Someone could
be dangerous without even knowing,

it could be a complete stranger

and I'm looking in the wrong place.
You'll work it out.

Was it worth it?

You're whole life, just...waiting.

Of course.

Think what's at stake.

(ALARM)

(ALARM STOPS)
OK, what we got?

It's a theatre on Cooper Street.
Temple.

Abby. Let's go.

Connor, I need your help.

Ah, there's an alert, I should -
This is more important.

I need you to run the new security
protocol check, for glitches.
Really?

Can it not wait, cos I really -
The core team have m*llitary training.

You have other skills.

Matt, it's Jess, can you call me
back, please.

Matt, answer your phone.

(BUZZING)

Jess. Matt, I've been trying to
reach you, there's an anomaly alert.

Where?
The theatre on Cooper Street.

I'm sending you the co-ordinates
now. Be there in a minute.

If there's anything -
Forget about me, Matthew.

Do your job.

I've designed a new bio-scan.
Bio-scan?

Well, after that Dracorex incident.

This'll automatically respond to any
escaped creature in the ARC.

That's neat.
Very neat.

Now, what I want you to do is make
sure the existing

ARC systems are compatible before
this scan goes live.

No disrespect, but couldn't any
computer-literate techie do that?

I built this system on top of yours
from the old ARC,

I thought you'd be excited.

Well, if you think it's beneath
you...

No. I'll do it.

Great. We'll get it up and running,
we'll have a full dress rehearsal.

Rock and roll.

Look, Connor...

I know it's not as thrilling as
running after an overgrown lizard,

but I promise you,

one day - this will save lives.

Call me if you need me.

Great.

I'm an overpaid button-pusher.

In fact, forget the overpaid part.

Here goes.

(COMPUTER BEEPS)

We have to get back to the others.

It's what Charlotte would want.
She understood our rules.

She d*ed because of you and your
rules.

We should've gone through the last
gateway, no matter what the risk.
We shouldn't have left it so long.

It looked too dangerous.
You said -

(DISTANT TALKING)
Sh!

She can't be found.

Jess, I'm in the theatre, there's no
sign of an occursion.

Matt, can I ask you a question?

Why did it take so long to pick up
your phone? I was busy.

Personal stuff.
Are you OK?

Yeah, I'm fine.
Becker and Abby are on their way.

(FLOORBOARD CREAKS)

Jess, there's something in here.

(CRASHING BANG)

Wait!

Wait!

Jess, where the hell's Becker?
He's almost there.

Matt, what's going on?

Are you there?

Matt?

Matt?

Matt? Matt, are you OK?

Where is he?

What about his black box?
The signal's not moving.

Do you think he's been att*cked?

Where's he gone?

(DINOSAUR SCREECHES)

(THUNDER RUMBLES)
(DINOSAUR SQUAWKS)

Sweep the theatre for any sign of
incursion.

Abby and I will lock the anomaly.

Matt's signal's coming from
backstage.

We're backstage, Jess. We've located
the anomaly.

Matt should be right behind you.
Go and find him.

Becker, over here.

She's dead.

I don't need your help, you fool.
Go back.

(DINOSAUR SCREECHES)

(DINOSAUR HOWLS AND SCREECHES)

Hey!

Hey, look out!

(DINOSAUR SCREECHES)

Come on, we've got to go.
We've got to go.

Up, come on.
What are you doing?

I'm trying to get you home. Come on.
(DINOSAURS HOWL)

No sign of incursion or Matt.
So, where is he?

Jess, anything?
I've checked the CCTV,

he hasn't left the theatre.
At least, not through the door.

Forget it, he'd never go through.

He knows the rules. No expeditions,
no search parties, no rescue.

Besides, if he's been dragged through
by a creature he's already dead.

(DINOSAUR GRUNTS)

You know it's the right thing to do,
come on, mate.

No, we keep searching the theatre.
Becker - Listen, Abby.

You can either stay here or you can
search with me,

but this stays locked.

No! No!

Becker, mate, it's Connor. You need
to open it now.

This is Matt we're talking about.
You know the rules

better than anyone, if he's gone
through it's on his own head.

I don't care about the rules -
You don't know what it's like,

to be trapped out there,
to be lost so far away.
You can't just leave him there.

You know that.
We haven't finished searching.

He's not here, Becker.

It's a human being, trapped.

We could help. We should help.

No-one else goes through,
no search parties, no risks.

If a creature comes out -
we deal with it.

But we have to open it.

(DINOSAUR SCREAMS)

Here! Hey!

Here!

We've got to give Matt a chance.

Come on.

Here, come on. Come on, let's go.

Let's go. Come on.

Lock it.

Before you ask, I don't know.
She just ran through.

And you followed her.
What was that thing?

Some sort of arboreal raptor.
Tree-climber.

Trust me, you don't want that thing
coming through.

We found a woman... Dead.

Not a creature att*ck.

We need to get her to hospital,
come on.

Philip? All the systems are
compliant,

there's no glitches that I can see.
Good news.

I'm going to go now.
I need you to activate the scan.

Run a full test.

I erm... I really should be...

Activating the scan.

Cool.

Hey. Hey, hey, hey.

It's OK. You're in a hospital.

Is there anyone I should call?

Friends or family or...

We found a body at the theatre.

A young woman.

Is that why you ran away?
Did you think I was the police?

She was my friend.

I would never have hurt her.
OK.

It's interesting.

Where'd you get it?

OK, why don't we just start with your
name?

I'm sure you've got questions you'd
like to ask me too.

One minute you're in a theatre,
the next you're in a forest

with those creatures, I mean, that
is enough to fry anybody's brain.

Fry whose brain?

Metaphorically speaking.
(PHONE RINGS)

Yeah.

Yeah, I'll come down and meet you.

I'm Matt, by the way.

No more trying to run away.

I'll take this for safe keeping,
yeah?

(DINOSAUR AND MAN SCREAM)

(MAN'S SCREAMING STOPS)

(DINOSAUR GRUNTS)

What's strange about the dead woman
we found at the theatre is that

she d*ed of an infection antibiotics
would have knocked out in days.

Yeah, that's not all.

She's showing antibodies for
smallpox, how's that possible?

When I followed her friend through
she knew that world.

She knew how to handle those
creatures.

Look, I don't think either of them
are actually from our time.

I'll work it out.
I'm taking her

into protective custody.
You're what?

As you said, she clearly isn't from
our time,

she could be infectious, hostile,
psychotic. No.

We take her in, keep her secure and
let the experts deal with her.

Hold on, we are the experts.
Look, she's not a creature,

she's a human being.
Look, I didn't bring her here.

Whatever happens to her is not my
responsibility.

In my judgement we have to treat
this with some sensitivity.

In your judgement.
Go on, why don't you just say it?

Fine. You chasing her through the
anomaly put everyone at risk.

Seen too many people die that way.

PHONELINE: We have an incursion at
the theatre, one man down. I repeat,
we have an incursion.

Great. One man down.

Nice work.

You stay here.

See what you can find out about her.

Becker!

How's it going?

Er...good. Got about half the ARC
scanned so far,

it's all going like clockwork.
Send me a report.

Great... Now I have to do a report.

(CREATURE SQUAWKS AND CHATTERS)

(COMPUTER BEEPING)
Connor, stop the scan, there's a
creature loose in here.

Stop the scan!
COMPUTER: Incursion detected.

Rex.

Lockdown procedure commencing.

(ALARM RINGS)
Evacuate.

Evacuate.

Evacuate. Evacuate,

Lockdown. Lockdown.

Lockdown. Lockdown.

Lockdown. Lockdown.

Lockdown.

Lockdown complete.

(METRONOMIC BEEPING)

That can't be a good thing.

What have you done?

I...

Something bad.

Lost all radio contact with the ARC.
Matt too.

Yes, sir, what are we dealing with?
Talk to me.

Matt?

Becker, can you hear me?

Did you not know the scan was linked
to emergency lockdown?

I don't even know what lockdown is.
You're looking at it.

Philip never mentioned any of this
to me.

What kind of idiot gives someone
a job to do

and doesn't even brief them
properly?

I can still hear you, Connor.

Brilliant.
Perhaps you'd like to explain

to this idiot why a creature has been
able to roam loose in the ARC.

OK, let's just fix the problem,
worry about the details later.

How do we unlock lockdown?
You can't.

I should be able to disarm lockdown.

I've got clearance.
Not anymore.

I designed the scan so that only
the most senior staff

would have access to the controls.
Senior staff being who?

As of this precise moment...

me.

You can't override the controls
without a retinal scan.

Which I can't do because I'm stuck
in here!

So we get you out.

You can't.

Ethan!

Ethan!

Who's Ethan?

Where are you from?

When are you from?

I have to find the man who came
through with me.

We must go back
before it's too late.
(DISTANT DINOSAUR SQUAWKING)

Tree-creepers.
You stay here.

I know these creatures, you don't.
It'll make for the highest point,

get its bearings, and then go on
the att*ck. I'm coming with you.

Or what?
I'll be forced to hurt you.

Again.

You'll be forced to hurt me again.

OK. But stay out of sight.

Abby, he's here.

Don't move.

On three count of three...

dive.

(DISTANT DINOSAUR HOWLING)

(DINOSAUR ROARS)

Abby.

There's two of them.
I think one's gone outside,

I'll take it. You and Becker search
in here.

(ROARS)

There must be some other way that we
can get him out of there.

Through the ceiling or something.

It's an isolation zone.

Reinforced doors. Nothing gets in
or out.

I designed the system to neutralise
any creature thr*at...

permanently.

The air's being sucked out of the
room.

How long do I have, Jess,
Before the air runs out?

20 minutes till you lose
consciousness.

Are you OK?
Yeah.

Depends on how you look at it.

First day at a new job and I've
practically m*rder*d the boss,

but other than that I'm... I'm fine.

(DISTANT RATTLING)

(DINOSAUR GROWLS)

Where are you going? I'm going to
go and do something, quite...

quickly. Otherwise this could look
really bad on my CV.

(DINOSAUR SCUTTLES FAINTLY)

(DINOSAUR SQUAWKS)

(DINOSAUR HOWLS)

(DINOSAUR ROARS)

(DINOSAUR GROWLS AND SQUAWKS)

(g*nsh*t)

Ever hot-wired a computer?
No.

Come on.

Right, please tell me there's

an external diagnostic outlay in
this room. Yes!

Perfect.

Right. Thank you.

Turn it on.
OK.

Philip? How's Rex?

Rex?

Coelurosauravus.

The little, green lizard responsible
for all this.

Because if anything happens to him
I'm in so much trouble.

No disrespect to the lizard but I
think we should be worrying about me.

Clearly you've not seen Abby
in a bad mood.

Rex...

isn't doing so well.

OK.

Do me a favour.

Could you tell him, from me,
to hang in there?

Anything?
Nothing.

Can you do this?
Go check the generator's on safety.

Connor, speak to me.

I bet you're going somewhere well
flash for dinner tonight, eh?

Don't worry, because I am going to
get you there.

I've got a plan.

It's impenetrable.

Connor...

..there are some things I haven't
told...anybody.

About a special project called...

New Dawn.

I need you to listen to me very
carefully.

Look, now's not a time for last
words.

It's not over till the fat lady
sings.

I mean, I thought fat ladies sung
all the time at the opera.

Never really got it.

EXASPERATED: Shut up...

and listen.

Shutting up.

Listening.

Philip?

Philip?

sh**t it.
I can't, it's out of range.

sh**t it!
You're very bossy, aren't you?

Come on.

(ROARS)

(g*nsh*t)

(ELECTRICAL SURGE)

(g*nsh*t)

Everything I try and do I just keep
hitting another firewall.

This is supposed to be your system,
isn't it? Well, it was, once.

But it's been modified out of all
recognition.

But it's still yours underneath.
They built a load of stuff

on top but the foundations should
still be there.
I'm trying to hack into...

I don't need to.

I built a trap door.

If it's still there then we should
be able

to get into the system through that.

Connor Temple, you're officially a
genius.

Sometimes.

OK.
LAPTOP: Password required.

Come on, Einstein, put in the
password.

Yeah...

I can't remember it.

Would've been something to do with
Abby.
Abby, OK.

Come on.

LAPTOP: Access denied.

That's not it.
Yeah, I can see that.

...before system shutdown.
Er...

Come on.

Access denied. One attempt left -

Just think.
..before system shutdown.

Come on, it would've been something
obvious.

Lockdown terminated.
Lockdown terminated.

System rebooting.
Ha-ha! Woo!

Woo! High-five!

Medic.
Yeah...we'll do it later.

(LAPTOP BEEPS)

He's OK. You didn't k*ll him.

Cursedly put. Where's Rex?

No. Jess, get me some oxygen.

OK. I need erm...

Turn it on when I say.

Please, let this work. Please,
let this work.

(CREATURE CHATTERS)

Rex.

(TAPS ON BOX)
(CREATURE CHATTERS)

(SQUAWKS)

You saved him!

I did.

I saved him.

Stay back.

What are you going to do?
I don't know.

The charge won't pass through glass.

(ROARS)

(HOWLS IN PAIN)

Thanks.
This way. It's gone up to the roof.

(DINOSAUR ROARS)

Matt, we're heading to your location
with backup.

Becker, my A-M-D was damaged,
get here now.

(ROARS AND HOWLS)

Keep it distracted.

We've got to try and rope it.

(DINOSAUR STOPS ROARING)

Distract him.

(DINOSAUR ROARS)

Hey! Over here!

At this stage we usually argue over
how to cook it.

We?
There were 15 of us
at the last count.

We only stay where there are no
people.

Matt, we've located your position.

Why?

We're on our way up.

It's the rules.

No interfering in another
human era.

(DISTANT SCREAMING)

(DISTANT THUD)

(POLICE SIREN)

Hey.

Where are you going?

I helped you, now you help me.

Let me go.
I can't do that.

I have to bring you in.

Didn't you listen to me?
Don't you understand?

I have to find Ethan and leave
this time.

Please.

Matt... What's going on?

Tell her, you can trust her.

My name was Lady Emily Merchant.

My home is London.

I was born in 1840.

I beg of you, let me go.

I came through the gateway with
a man,

I need to find him, we must go back.

I'm going to help her.

It's not up to us.
We have to take this to Lester.

I know what will happen if you keep
me here. I heard the soldier.

I'll be locked up like an animal.

Please? Just cover for us.

It's her life, she should be free to
go.

This better be a good idea.

Becker.

Matt.
Hey.

You two make sure the clean up
happens,

I'll look for the mystery woman.
Yeah. Yeah, you do that.

Right, let's get you somewhere safe.

And look for Ethan tomorrow.

Er... Philip.

I er... I just wanted to um...

About the whole nearly k*lling you
thing...

You were brilliant today, Connor.

Was I?

I don't think anyone else on Earth

could've broken through that firewall
I set up.

I underestimated you and I apologise.

I'm glad you're back on the team.

Just keep that lizard away from me,
will you?

Philip.

Wasn't there something that you
wanted to tell me?

About New Dawn?

Oh...

Another time.

You live alone.

I can tell.

Lacks a woman's touch.

No man servant?

Not even a parlour maid.

You mocking me?

Times have changed since you were
around.

First time you were around.

It's incredible.
It's not bad.

I'm sorry I hit you.

But you shouldn't have followed me.

I was just trying to help you.

I was just trying to help you.

I was afraid you'd end up like us.

Lost...

Trapped...

(MECHANICAL WHIRRING)

The people I travelled with were all
damaged in their own way,

being so far from home.

But Ethan is something else.
(MECHANICAL LIFT DOOR OPENS)

He's different.

Hello.
Who are you?

Pity.

It's as if there's something broken
in him.

Charlotte kept him under control and
now that she's dead

none of us are safe.

Emily, whatever happens I want you to
know that you're safe here.

I promise you that.

None of us are safe while Ethan's
out there.

I have to find Ethan.
When I get back we can find Ethan
together, I promise.

These creatures present an ongoing
and potentially uncontrollable
thr*at.

I think you seriously have to
consider putting them down.

He wants to k*ll Rex.

Just order him to clear out the
loading bay

while I get the creatures out.
What are you going to do with
the mammoth?

Matt, anomaly alert, JP School,
Thornton Street, the others are on
their way.

Connor, be careful, it uses a toxic
venom to paralyse its prey.

Matt, there's two kids! And they're
heading straight for the creature.

There's another kid. A girl.

Connor, we've lost Becker, Matt's
outnumbered, we have to do something
now!

There's too many. There's too many!

Becker.
