Max: Where's Enrique? It's almost time to go.

Emmy: He'll be here. He won't want to miss seeing

Zak and Wheezie play a song for Princess Kidoodle.

[Door opens] Enrique: Hola, Emmy. Hola, Max.

Your mom sent me up.

Max: Come on. We want to get to Dragon Land early,

so we can help Zak and Wheezie practice their song.

Enrique: Si, si. I'm the one who taught it to them.

Max: Nice hat. Can I try it on?

Enrique: No, don't!

Max: Why not?

Emmy: Come on, you two.

All: I wish, I wish, with all my heart

to fly with dragons in a land apart.

Cassie: Look. There they are.

Ord: Emmy! Max! Enrique!

I'm so glad you're here.

We need your help.

Emmy: Why? Is something wrong?

Cassie: It's Zak and Wheezie.

They won't come out of their cave.

Enrique: Right before their big concert?

Que raro.

Max: Yes, really strange, right?

Zak and Wheezie would never miss a concert.

Emmy: There must be something wrong.

Let's go see if we can help.

Ord: The knuckerhole is right over...

over...there!

Cassie: I really like your cap.

Can I take a closer look?

Enrique: No, no ahora. Not right now.

Emmy: Enrique's not taking off his hat for anybody today.

Ord: OK! Everybody hop in!

Next stop, Zak and Wheezie's cave!

[All laugh]

Enrique: Whoa!

[All laugh]

Enrique: Whoa! I'm still not used to

getting around this way.

Ord: Zak? Wheezie?

Where are you?

Wheezie: Go away!

Zak and Wheezie aren't home!

Cassie: You can't fool me, Wheezie.

That's your voice.

Wheezie: No, it's not!

Max: Yes, it is!

Come out, come out, wherever you are!

Zak: You heard Wheezie! We aren't here!

Oops. I mean Wheezie and I aren't--oh!

Oh, I give up.

Wheezie: Aw, I had them fooled

until you put our foot in your mouth.

Max: Your skin! What happened?

Both: We're shedding!

[Both moan]

Ord: That means their scales are falling off.

It happens to dragons sometimes.

Cassie: It's not so bad.

Your scales will grow back.

Wheezie: But not for weeks!

And we're supposed to play a song

for Princess Kidoodle in just a few hours.

Zak: We can't appear in front of the princess looking like this.

We'll just have to cancel the show.

Enrique: But you two practiced so hard.

You can't let a few missing scales

stop you from performing.

Wheezie: That's easy for you to say.

You're not the one shedding.

[Zak groaning]

Oh! There go some more.

I feel so silly-looking without our scales.

Emmy: Hey! If we all start thinking,

we should be able to figure out a way to fix this.

Zak: You'll have to hurry.

The curtain's going up really soon!

Emmy: Let's try to mix the colors

so they match Zak and Wheezie's scales,

and maybe it'll look like the scales are still there.

Everybody grab a brush!

Zak: Ha ha! I feel like an art project.

[All laugh] Wheezie: That tickles!

Hee hee hee!

Cassie: You have to stop giggling.

It makes you all jiggly.

Emmy: OK, can anybody see where the scales are missing?

Ord: Nope. The berry juice blends in perfectly.

Wheezie: ♪ Looove it ♪

Zak: Yeah. It looks good.

Wheezie: Let's give it a whirl.

Zak: Our song is called "El Coqui,"

"The Frog."

Enrique: I taught them that song.

In espanol and English.

[Music playing]

Wheezie: ♪ My coqui, little frog, how I love you ♪

Zak: ♪ For your song gives me comfort and peace ♪

Wheezie: ♪ Every night, I can go to sleep happy ♪

Zak: ♪ When I hear lullabies from coqui ♪

Both: ♪ Coqui, coqui ♪

Zak: Oh! Ow! Oh! Wheezie: ♪ Coqui, coqui, coqui... ♪

Enrique: I didn't teach you this part.

Zak: Ooh! Ahh! Wheezie: Aah! Ooh!

Zak: Can you feel that? Uhh. Itchy! Ah!

Cassie: I think we'd better try something else.

Hmm. Maybe we could cover up the bald spots.

Max: With what?

Wheezie: Oh! I feel like a garden in spring.

Zak: And I feel like a parade float.

Cassie: But flowers are the perfect cover-up

for your missing scales.

Emmy: We're almost out of flowers.

Where are Ord and Max?

Ord: Ah-ah-choo!

I can't help it.

Dandelions make me sneeze.

And big ones make me sneeze even bigger.

Ah-ah-choo!

Wheezie: Ah!

Enrique: There! All the bare spots are covered.

[Emmy, Max, Ord, and Cassie laugh]

Zak: At least flowers don't itch.

Wheezie: Let's rock 'n' roll!

[Music playing]

Zak: ♪ My coqui, little frog, how I-- ♪

Hey, where'd that bubble-bee come from?

Wheezie: Probably just likes flowers.

Let's start over.

[Music playing]

Zak: ♪ My coqui, little frog, how I love you ♪

Wheezie: For your song gives me comfort and peace ♪

Zak: ♪ Every--[blows] I go--[blows] Oh [blows] ♪

Wheezie: ♪ When I hear lullabies from-- ♪

[Zak coughing]

[Zak and Wheezie's singing becomes garbled with gurgling]

[All laugh]

Zak: Pretty good, huh?

Ord: No one's gonna notice your missing scales

when you're wearing all this stuff.

Emmy: Definitely! They'll be looking at

all your clothes instead.

And now for the finishing touch.

Wheezie: Why didn't I ever think of wearing

all my fancy clothes at the same time before?

Zak: Because we look like someone dumped

a laundry basket over our heads?

This almost looks worse than shedding.

[Ord, Cassie, and Emmy laugh] Max: No, you look like rock stars.

Really. Play.

[Music playing]

Zak: ♪ My coqui, little frog, how I love you ♪

Wheezie: ♪ For your song gives me comfort and peace ♪

Zak: ♪ A belt has come loose, and it's slipping ♪

Wheezie: ♪ Well, grab it before it falls off ♪

Zak: ♪ Coqui, coqui--oh! ♪

♪ Coqui, qui, qui--yow! ♪

Wheezie: ♪ Coqui, coqui... ♪ Zak: Wow!

[Crash]

Emmy: Maybe if we tried a few less layers.

Zak: Ohh. It's hopeless.

We'll just have to cancel the show.

Cassie: We'll go tell Princess Kidoodle.

She'll be disappointed, but she should know.

Ord: Come on. We better hurry.

Everyone's probably already

finding seats for the concert.

Enrique: I'll stay here with Zak and Wheezie.

[Wheezie sighs] I'm sorry we're not gonna

be able to sing for Princess Kidoodle.

Enrique: Well, there's still time to change your mind.

You really don't look that bad.

[Zak sighs] You wouldn't say that if you were us.

You don't know what it's like to feel so silly.

Enrique: Actually, I know exactly how you feel.

Zak: Whoa! Wheezie: Ha ha ha!

Oh, sorry. I can't help it.

Zak: That is a b-a-d haircut.

Enrique: My abuelita did it.

I don't think she's cut hair in a long time.

But even looking like this,

if I had a chance to play for Princess Kidoodle,

I would do it.

Wheezie: No, you wouldn't.

You're just saying that.

Enrique: Si, si, I would. And I'll prove it.

I'll get up on that stage if you will.

Maybe we could help each other feel less embarrassed.

Zak: Yeah. Everyone will be so busy looking at our bald spots,

they won't notice your haircut.

Enrique: Or they'll be so busy laughing at my haircut,

they won't notice your missing scales.

[All laugh]

[Crowd murmuring]

Cassie: But I don't know what to say.

Emmy: We'll just have to tell the princess the truth.

Ord: It's the only way.

Max: I'll do it.

Um...

[Applause]

[Crowd cheering]

Max: Cool!

Look at Enrique's hair!

Cassie: No wonder he didn't want to take off his hat.

Zak: My sister and I,

along with our friend Enrique,

would like to play a song for you.

[Music playing]

Emmy: I don't think anyone in the audience

even cared about how they looked.

Zak and Wheezie: Thank you, your majesty.

Enrique: Gracias, your majesty.

Hey, nice haircut.

All: I wish, I wish, to use this rhyme

to go back home until next time.

Max: Enrique, you left your hat in Dragon Land.

Enrique: That's OK. I can get along without it

until next time.

Max: And maybe your hair will grow out by then.

[All laugh]

Emmy: Isn't this exciting, Max?

My first trip to summer camp.

Max: You better make sure you have

everything you're gonna need.

My marble, my robot.

My football helmet.

My rubber snake.

Emmy: Ha ha ha! Wait a minute, Max.

Who's going to camp? You or me?

Max: Well, I don't want you to forget about me.

Emmy: Aww, don't worry, Max.

I'll just be gone for a week.

You can still have lots of fun in Dragon Land.

Max: Well, maybe.

Emmy: Definitely. [Car horn honks]

Oh! Mom's ready to go.

See you in a week, Max.

Max: Bye, Emmy. I'll save you

all the bugs and worms I catch so you can see.

Emmy: Ha ha! Thanks. Bye-bye!

[Max sighs]

I wish, I wish, with all my heart

to fly with dragons in a land apart.

Zak: Look! It's Max!

Wheezie: ♪ Looove it ♪

Cassie: Where's Emmy?

Max: She's not coming.

Zak: Not coming?

Wheezie: I don't love it.

Max: She went to sleepaway camp for a whole week.

I miss her.

Cassie: She's our friend, too, Max.

We can all miss her together.

Quetzal: Ninos, it's all right to miss someone you love.

Especially if you're used to being with them all the time.

Zak: I'd sure miss Wheezie if she ever went away.

Wheezie: Aww, that's sweet, Zaky.

Ord: I'm glad you're here with us, Max.

Quetzal: Si. Coming to Dragon Land was

just the right thing to do.

It helps to be with good friends

when you're missing someone.

Max: I wonder what Emmy is doing at camp.

Wheezie: I bet she's having lots of fun.

Quetzal: She's probably swimming,

taking nature hikes,

and sitting around the campfire.

Ord: Wow.

Max: I'm really glad Emmy's having fun,

but I still miss her.

Cassie: Maybe we could do some of the fun things

Emmy's doing.

Quetzal: Good idea, Cassie.

Max: You mean go swimming, take a nature hike,

and sit around a campfire?

Zak and Wheezie: Yeah.

Ord: Last one in the swimming hole is all wet!

Max: Hey, guys, wait for me!

[Dragons cheering]

[All laugh]

Max: Huh?

Ord: Yay! [All laugh]

[Ord laughs]

Max: That was really fun, Quetzal.

Quetzal: Are you ready for the nature hike?

Max and Ord: Yeah!

Cassie: Let's show Max where

the strangest plant in Dragon Land grows.

Quetzal: I know just the place.

Zak: Ha ha. Under Wheezie's bed? Ha ha.

[Max laughs]

Quetzal: There it is-- the dancing forest.

[Upbeat music playing]

Max: Wow! The trees really are dancing!

Ord: And they don't have to worry about

stepping on each other's feet.

Wheezie: Unlike a certain brother I know.

Zak: It's only 'cause your foot is so big,

there's no room for mine.

Quetzal: Come, ninos. There is much to see.

Shh. Listen.

[Laughter]

Ord: Mm! Those look almost as good as dragonberries.

Quetzal: They're called pickleberries.

Go ahead. Try to pick one.

[Bush laughs] [Ord gasps]

[Laughter continues]

Ord: Oh, that's kinda scary.

Max: I think they're funny. Ha ha!

Wheezie: ♪ Looove it ♪

[Bush laughs]

Max: Hey! Come back here!

[Laughs]

[Bush laughs] Max: Aww.

[Bush laughs] [Cassie laughs]

[Max laughs] [Bush laughs]

[Bushes laugh]

[Max laughs]

Ord: ♪ Na na-na na na ♪

[Max laughs]

Ord: ♪ Na na-na na na ♪

[Max laughs] Ahh.

Emmy's missing out on all the fun.

I sure wish she was here.

Quetzal: Max, Emmy is having her own fun.

She would want you to have fun, too.

Who can think of a way to cheer Max up?

Zak: Let's put our heads together.

Hmm. Wheezie: Got it!

I could sing a song!

That always cheers me up.

Zak: Quick! Somebody think of another idea.

Cassie: I know. I'll pretend I'm Emmy.

Then you'll feel like she's here

and you won't miss her as much.

Max: Uh, you don't look like Emmy.

Cassie: I know, but I can talk like Emmy.

Definitely.

I definitely think this is a good idea.

Definitely.

[Dragons laugh]

Max: That definitely wasn't Emmy,

but thanks for trying.

Ord: I know!

[Making armpit farts]

It's hard to be sad!

[Humming]

Zak: Ohh, I'm beginning to think

Emmy's the lucky one.

Wheezie: But it's working.

[Cassie and Max laugh]

Zak: May I have the pleasure of this dance?

Wheezie: You certainly may.

You dance like you have two left feet, Zaky.

Zak: I don't even have one left foot.

Wheezie: Oh. Ha ha, you're right.

Max: I sure wish Emmy could see this.

Hmm.

Hey! She can see it.

I could take pictures

and send them to Emmy.

Ord, did you bring a camera?

Ord: Well, let's see.

Apple. [Munch]

Banana. [Munch]

Camera. [Munch] [Indistinct].

Here, buddy.

Max: Thanks!

Zak, Wheezie, start dancing again.

[Camera's shutter clicks, camera whirs]

Quetzal: This is a very good idea, Max.

A picture can speak a thousand words.

[Camera whirring]

Wheezie: Hmm. Do you think that's my good side?

Zak: I'm your good side. Ha ha!

Ord: And this is my best side.

Or is it this one?

Cassie: Uh, maybe we can decide later, Ord.

Quetzal: On the way home, you'll have a chance to take

pictures of everything you saw today, Max.

Max: Oh, boy! Let's go!

Emmy's gonna love it.

Quetzal: Come, Max. Why don't you write

a nice letter to Emmy to send with the photographs?

Max: A letter? But I don't know how to write.

Quetzal: That's OK. You can tell me what to say

and I will write it for you.

We only have dragon-sized paper.

Max: That's OK. I have a lot to say!

Dear Emmy, how's camp?

I'm having a great time in Dragon Land

and so will you when you see the pictures.

We went swimming and took a nature hike.

Everybody misses you, especially me.

Love, Max.

I need one more picture.

[Camera's shutter clicks, camera whirs]

Quetzal: You're going to need a dragon-sized envelope.

Cassie: It's a really nice letter, Max.

Zak: Great pictures, too.

Wheezie: ♪ Looove them ♪

Ord: I get to lick the envelope!

[Slurping]

Quetzal: And finally, the stamp.

[Slurping]

[Max laughs]

I wish, I wish, to use this rhyme

I can't wait to see if there's a letter from Emmy.

Then Mom can read it to me.

And I really can't wait till Emmy gets my letter.
