[Adam] And the Masters of the Universe.

I am Adam, Prince of Eternia,

and defender of the secrets of Castle Grayskull.

This is Cringer, my fearless friend.

Fabulous secret powers were revealed to me

the day I held aloft my magic sword and said:

"By the power of Grayskull!"

♪ He-Man

I have the power!

[roars]

Cringer became the mighty Battle Cat,

and I became He-Man,

the most powerful man in the universe.

Only three others share this secret:

our friends the Sorceress,

Man-At-Arms and Orko.

Together, we defend Castle Grayskull

from the evil forces of Skeletor.

[cackles]

♪ He-Man

[Man-At-Arms over radio] Ground to Wind Raider, come in.

I hear you, Father.

Are you ready to test

the Wind Raider's new rocket booster?

-I'm ready. -The new rocket booster

is made of coridite.

And since you Widgets mine coridite,

we thought you'd like to see the results of your efforts.

Waiting for your instructions, Father.

All right, check your controls.

Check.

[Man-At-Arms] Fire the rocket.

[Teela] Whee!

Take her to , feet.

[Teela] ,...,...

,...,...

-Level off, Teela. -, feet.

, feet. This is great!

That's high enough, Teela.

Level off now.

It can go higher.

Maybe she can't stop.

Or maybe the rocket is too powerful.

Man-At-Arms, maybe...

Teela, level off and bring it in.

This is so much fun.

The test is concluded. Bring it down.

Yes, Father.

Over and out.

♪ He-Man

The Wind Raider acted like it wanted to go higher and higher.

How high will it go, Man-At-Arms?

I don't know.

The rocket performs even better than I planned.

Probably because of the coridite.

[Man-At-Arms] That's right, Squinch.

I must check out the Wind Raider.

You care to help, Adam?

Teela and I promised the Widgets

we'd take them to the beach.

All right, see you later.

♪ He-Man

Hey, you threw it to her twice.

[Teela] Okay, Squinch, catch.

[laughs]

I'll get you for that.

[Adam] Careful, Biro. Don't build it too high.

Hey, watch it.

Oh, no.

Will it help if I say I'm sorry?

Sure.

I'm sorry.

Come on, let's eat.

[Lara] I'll get the sandwiches.

Oh, I really love the Widgets.

They're like one big, happy family.

[Teela] They really care about each other.

[Adam] Well, everybody should have someone to care about.

You're right, Adam.

Caring is one of the things life is all about.

[sonar beeping]

[grumbling]

What are you looking for, Mer-Man?

Something I can test out my new mechanical sea monsters on.

A-ha!

[Trap Jaw] What is it?

[Mer-Man] A perfect target.

A little fishing boat.

Well, there could be somebody on the boat.

I don't see anybody.

But if there is,

he'll have a nice swim to shore.

This I got to see.

Oh, I wonder what I'll catch today.

Hey!

[laughs]

I got me a big one.

Oh, my goodness.

[roars]

[Squinch] Look! A sea monster.

By the power of Grayskull...

♪ He-Man

♪ He-Man

...I have the power!

It's a robot.

[roars]

♪ He-Man

[all cheer]

♪ He-Man

He-Man is always ruining my action.

Someday, someone will show up.

Sure, Mer-Man.

It'll be the same day the ocean turns into peanut butter.

[coughing]

Where's Adam?

[Adam] I'm right here.

Does anybody know this man?

[Adam] No, I don't.

I wonder who he is.

Look at them.

The Widgets are probably laughing at me.

[laughs]

If they're not, I am.

He-Man hit your great, indestructible monsters

and sprung-sprung.

But wait till I tell Skeletor.

Stop talking, you metal mouth.

I have to think.

Sprung-sprung.

[Mer-Man] Be quiet!

Those rotten, miserable springs.

I need to make them out of stronger metal.

Yeah, too bad you don't have any coridite.

It's the strongest metal on Eternia.

Where can I get coridite?

Well, the Widgets mine small amounts of it.

Well, then I'll just have to tell them to get me some.

They won't give you any.

Well, then I'll take it.

They keep it hidden.

We'll see.

Care to come along?

Are you kidding? Do I look stupid?

Trap Jaw, you not only look stupid,

you are stupid.

After he whapped the sea monsters,

He-Man brought you here.

What about my fishing pole?

Did your He-Man save my fishing pole?

[Lara] No, but he saved your life.

You can always get another fishing pole.

And my boat? Where am I going to get another boat?

Well, it seems to me that first you have to recover

before you worry about another boat.

Recover? Ha-ha! I'm-- I'm perfectly fine.

Take it easy.

Just what do you think you're doing, young lady?

Trying to help. And my name is Teela.

What's yours?

[old man] I can't see what use

that information is to you, but it's Jacob.

Where do you live, Jacob?

Oh, so many questions.

I lived on my fishing boat, alone.

-How awful. -It was a good boat.

I mean, the alone part.

Why, I liked it.

And besides, no one bothered me with lots of questions.

Well, now somebody's got to take care of you.

You're coming with us, right, Widgets?

[all chatter excitedly]

Come on. There, it's decided.

Well, just until I figure out how to get a new boat.

We'll take over now.

Come on, Teela. It's time for us to go home.

It's nice to have met you.

I hope you feel better soon.

I don't know what's nice about it, but thanks.

Come on, Widgets. It's chair-making time.

Let's get some branches and vines.

Keep still and everything will be all right, got it?

-What do you want? -Coridite.

I want some coridite.

-No! -Just tell me where it is

and I'll help myself.

It's hidden in the fort, and I'll never tell where.

Of course! The fort!

You tell anybody about this,

and I'll tell everybody you told me

where the coridite is.

♪ He-Man

Are you sure this will hold me?

Guaranteed. We used strong branches and fresh vines.

One, two, three.

Lift!

Put it down. Put it down.

Turn around.

Well, not a whole lot of progress going on.

♪ He-Man

[Squinch] There, that should make you more comfortable.

[Jacob] Who said I was uncomfortable?

May I come in?

-Here. -What is it?

Good, hot soup.

It will make you feel better.

I'm a hermit. I take care of myself.

[sniffs]

That's okay. You're among friends.

[Jacob] You don't understand.

It's taken years of practice to become a successful hermit.

And now you Widgets are ruining everything.

We're just trying to take care of you.

Exactly my point.

[slurps]

Time to pay a visit to the Widgets' fort.

If my calculations are right,

the corkscrew will come out right under the fort,

and the water will flood the mine.

I don't understand, Biro.

Why do we need to check up on the coridite?

Well, we just do. Don't ask so many questions.

[Kando] You're beginning to sound like Jacob.

There's the coridite. Safe and secure.

Uh-oh. Water.

Let's get out of here, Biro!

It's all my fault. I got to save the coridite.

I really wish you'd stay.

No, I'd better go.

-Here, take him. -But...

No buts. I found him a long time ago.

I save everything.

I only wish I had a boat to give you.

Well, I don't know what to say.

I know no one's ever been this kind to me before.

-I... -[Kando] Water in the mine!

The mine is filling up with seawater.

We got to have a meeting. I'm calling a meeting.

Excuse me, but who's that?

-[Kando] Mer-Man! -Yes, it is I, Mer-Man.

-What do you want? -The coridite.

Unless you hand it over, I will flood your entire fort.

But this is our home.

Then give me the coridite.

What are we going to do?

I don't know, Lara.

Oh, I don't know.

[laughs]

[Adam] Excuse me, Man-At-Arms.

Have you seen Teela?

[Man-At-Arms] She went to the Widgets' fort.

Said she'd be home by dinnertime.

Hmm, she probably wants to see how Jacob's doing.

She told me about him.

Will he be all right?

Well, he's been a hermit,

so I guess he knows how to take care of himself.

[Mer-Man] Well? I don't have all day.

Where's the coridite?

That's for us to know and for you to find out.

Leave us alone, fish face!

You over there, old man.

You tell me where the coridite is.

Well, if I knew, I wouldn't tell you.

Why, you...

Run for it, Jacob. Get out of here.

Hurry, Jacob!

-Teela. -What's going on here?

Come in, come in.

Mer-Man!

Just leave them alone, Mer-Man.

[Mer-Man] Mind your own business!

This is my business.

Way to go, Teela!

[Mer-Man] I'll get you for that!

Oh, time to go fishing.

[chuckles]

Ow! Caught like a fish.

You are a fish.

Will someone please tell me what's going on here?

[overlapped chatter]

Hold it! Kando, you tell me.

Mer-Man flooded the mine.

Biro and I were down there, and...

and where's Biro?

He must still be down in the mine.

I'll get him.

Boy, she's very brave.

You did a brave thing yourself.

Well, I like to fish.

Besides, I...

I couldn't run out on you.

You've been so good to me.

[Mer-Man] Stop this nonsense!

Time's running out, and the tide's running in.

Now, where's the coridite?

You better tell him, or you'll lose your home.

I can't.

Biro, where are you?

[Biro] Over here, Teela!

Glad to see you. I-I-I can't swim.

What are you doing down here?

Guarding the coridite.

It's safe. The coridite is safe.

That's all I wanted to know.

The coridite must be underwater, and no one can follow me.

Quick, fire the cannon flare. Signal He-Man.

Oh, I hope he sees it.

Oh, it's a beautiful sunset, isn't it, Cringer?

It's the prettiest one I've seen all day.

[Adam] Hey, look.

The Widgets must be in trouble.

[whimpers]

Can't it wait until tomorrow?

Afraid not, Cringer.

By the power of Grayskull...

♪ He-Man

♪ He-Man

...I have the power!

♪ He-Man

[roars]

To the fort, Battle Cat.

♪ He-Man

I'm going in after him.

No, you're not.

No one's a match for Mer-Man underwater.

Except He-Man.

I only hope he saw the flare.

Look!

What's going on? I saw the Widgets' flare.

It's Mer-Man. He flooded the mine,

and he's down there looking for the coridite.

[Lara] Hooray for He-Man!

Hip, hip, hooray!

-Hooray! -[all cheer]

[He-Man] Well, you'd better find a new hiding place for this stuff.

Uh-oh.

[Jacob] Why, the water's coming up out of the mine.

Can you save our fort, He-Man?

Well, the tide is rising,

but the moon controls the tide.

I guess I'll have to control the moon.

Man-At-Arms, can you hear me?

[Man-At-Arms over watch] I hear you, He-Man. What is it?

[He-Man] Can you get the Wind Raider

with the new rocket booster ready for me?

-Of course. -Good. I'm on my way.

Come on, Cat. We have some fast riding to do.

[Man-At-Arms] I don't know how high the Raider will go.

Well, we're going to find out.

♪ He-Man

Come on, good ship. Don't fail me now.

[Kando] The water's going down!

[all cheer]

Better plug that hole.

There, that should do it.

One more job.

Got to put things back in their proper place.

[grunts]

The water's all gone.

That, my friends, was a close call.

What if Mer-Man comes back?

[He-Man] I don't believe Mer-Man will be bothering you again.

[Squinch] He-Man!

You saved us again.

My pleasure, little friend.

[Jacob] Uh, excuse me.

I never got a chance to thank you

for saving me earlier today.

Well, you're welcome.

Well, I... I guess I'll be going now.

Where will you go?

Oh, does it matter?

I'm a hermit.

[Lara] You have no family? No one?

[laughs] Such questions.

No, no, no. Not anymore.

Why are you a hermit?

Well, people kept disappointing me

with their foolishness.

And you know what?

I've been foolish too.

In what way, Jacob?

Well, the Widgets showed me what I'd forgotten.

That people can also be kind and helpful and loving.

Well, why don't you stay here with us?

No, I-- I'd just get in the way.

Widgets, time for a meeting.

We just took a vote.

We'd like you to stay and be our mayor.

-Why? -Oh, so many questions.

Because we like you.

Because we voted.

Because we need you.

-We need you. Come on. -Yeah, come on, we need you.

My goodness. For the-- for the first time

in a very long time,

I have someone who needs me.

Then you'll do it?

You'll stay?

Yes, Squinch.

[laughs]

I'll stay.

[Widgets cheer]

Because the Widgets helped Jacob,

he chose to stand beside them when they were in danger.

Afterwards, he planned to leave them,

because he was so used to living alone.

Only after he discovered

that he was really needed by the Widgets,

did Jacob agree to stay and be their mayor.

It's important to let those around us know

that we love and need them.
