Hi, we're so glad you're here.

Blue and I need you to make an announcement.

When I say "Now," we need you to yell out

"It's Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper Day!"

[barks happily]

Will you do that?

Great.

[barks happily]

Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper are going to be so surprised.

We made up this special day just for them.

Okay, Blue, we're ready.

Blue?

Did you see which way Blue went?

That way.

Come on.

PAPRIKA: Ready, Steve.

Paprika is going to help, too.

Remember, when I say "Now"

you yell out, "It's Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper Day!"

[Blue barks; then Paprika shakes]

Hey, Mr. Salt, Mrs. Pepper.

Do you know what day it is today?

Uh...

What day is it?

Ready? Now.

ALL: It's Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper Day. Yay!

Mr. Salt...?

And Mrs. Pepper Day?

Yeah, it's a special day just for you two.

All right!

You know how you always make us feel special

by doing things for us, like making us snacks

or taking care of us when we're sick?

[both agree]

Well, today we decided to make you feel special.

All day long, we're going to show you

how much we appreciate you

by doing things, like... like...

Like this.

I made a picture.

This is Mommy.

This is Daddy.

This is the sink.

Oh!

What a beautiful picture, Paprika!

♪ Sit down in our thinking chair ♪

[barks]

So Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper must be our first clue.

But I think we need to find two more clues.

[Tickety bouncing]

Oh, there's my picture!

That goes on my maraca.

Come on!

Wonder what Tickety is going to do with that maraca.

Let's go see.

[Latin music plays]

[music stops]

Hi, Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper.

I made up a cheer for you.

Let's listen.

[drums playing, maraca shaking]

[cheer-like singing]: ♪ Mr. Salt... and Mrs. Pepper

♪ When I get sick... there's no one better ♪

♪ You make me soup... when my throat is sore ♪

♪ There are no spices... that I like more. ♪

to cleaning the kitchen.

[salt and pepper granules shaking]

So Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper just sprayed the counter.

What should we do next

to help finish cleaning the counter?

Dry it.

Wipe.

Oh, yeah, dry the counter.

Of course.

Let's wipe it down.

Well, kitchen helpers

you did a great job

drying the counter.

[drums play]

ALL: Things get done so easily.

So what else can we do to help?

PEPPER: You can help us finish clearing the table.

[granules shaking]

So Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper cleared away

all the plates and the cups.

So what should we do next to finish clearing the table?

Clear the place mats.

Clear the place mats, of course.

The mats go over there.

Good helping, Paprika.

And you, too.

We cleared the mats and put them all in that drawer.

PEPPER: Good work, kitchen helpers.

BOTH: ♪ When I help you and you help me... ♪

♪ Things get done so easily. ♪

So is there anything else we can do?

PEPPER: Sure, you can help us finish the recycling.

SALT: We just finished washing this plastic container.

You can do the rest.

Okay.

So Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper just washed out that plastic bottle.

So what should we do next to finish the recycling?

Put it in the recycle bin.

Put the plastic bottle in the recycling bin.

Of course.

Because we can recycle plastic containers.

Yum.

Well, all done.

You kitchen helpers did a fantastic job!

We finished

all our cleaning.

I helped, too.

You certainly did.

You are going to be such a helpful big sister

when we have the new baby.

[Paprika hums fanfare]

PAPRIKA: Whoa!

I have something very special

for Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper

under this sheet.

Since spaghetti is my favorite dinner

and you make it for me all the time

I made a spaghetti statue-- Ta-dah!--

to show you how much I appreciate you.

You know, I'm really not sure.

So our first clue was Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper.

And now our second clue is Blue.

So what could Blue want to say in her card with these clues?

MAILBOX: ♪ Mail time...

But we should find our third clue.

♪ Mail time, mail time!

The mail's here.

♪ Here's the mail, it never fails ♪

♪ It makes me want to wag my tail ♪

♪ When it comes, I want to wail, "Mail!" ♪

[barks]

Hiya, Mailbox.

Hey, Steve, here's your letter!

You know...

I really appreciate how you always bring us the mail.

We should have a Mailbox Day, just for you.

Aw...

Well, I think there should be a Steve Day because...

well, just because I like you.

of my grandma and me going to Coney Island.

My mom makes me happy.

I'm going to give her this drawing as a present.

I love my grandma 'cause she takes me to fun places.

what their favorite things to do are.

That's Mrs. Pepper when she was younger.

So, from these pictures

what does it look like Mrs. Pepper likes to do?

Swim.

STEVE: Oh, yeah, swim.

[water gurgling]

Mrs. Pepper must like to swim

because she's swimming in all these pictures.

STEVE: Look-- that's her swimming with her mom.

There she is in a swim race.

[cheering]

Wow, I guess Mrs. Pepper really likes to swim.

[barks in agreement]

Hey, that's Mr. Salt when he was younger.

So, by looking at these pictures

what do you think Mr. Salt likes to do?

Plant things.

Plant things, yeah.

That makes sense

because Mr. Salt is planting in all these pictures.

He's got some little seedlings in that picture.

He's planting seeds in the dirt there.

And he's watering plants there.

I guess he loves to plant things.

Hey, we can figure out

what Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper like to do together.

So, by looking at these pictures

what do you think they like to do together?

Well, the card is from Blue

and it's for Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper.

So maybe Blue wants to say something to them

with the heart.

But what could Blue want to say to Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper

in her card with a heart?

"I love you."

Oh, you think Blue wants to say, "I love you"

to Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper in her card.

[barks "I love you"]

about how much we appreciate them.
