STEVE: Hi, it's me, Steve.

Could you help me find Blue?

KIDS: There she is.

[Blue barks "hello"]

STEVE: Hey, come on!

PAIL, SHOVEL AND MAILBOX: Hi, Blue.

[Periwinkle laughs]

Hi. Come on in.

Ahh.

I just put my shoes on

and my feet felt so great, I just had to move around

like this.

Here, move around with me.

Get up, come on.

Here you go.

It's great.

What do you call this, what we're doing?

Jumping.

Yeah, we're jumping.

Jump, jump, jump.

Okay, on the count of three, let's do one really big jump.

Ready?

One, two, three, jump!

Wow!

You're a really good jumper.

That big one was very nice.

[barks]

[barking happily]

Hey, look how Blue's moving.

I think she's twirling.

Yeah, she's got her ears out for balance

and she's twirling around.

Do you want to twirl, too?

Come on.

[chuckles]

We did it, we twirled.

This is exciting.

Hey, what's that little move-- that one right there?

Yeah, it's kind of like a wriggle.

So, we've jumped, twirled and wriggled.

You think we could put all these moves together and make a dance?

[barks]

Yeah, well, you'll try it with me, right?

Come on.

[music starts]

Okay, jump...

twirl...

wriggle.

Jump...

twirl...

wriggle.

[music ends]

We are excellent dancers.

[barks "we are"]

Oh, Blue, do you want to make up a dance, too?

[barks "yes, I do"]

Great.

Well, what do you want your dance to be about?

[barks "time for 'Blue's Clues'"]

Oh.

We'll play "Blue's Clues"

to figure out what Blue wants to make a dance about.

[music starts]

♪ We are gonna play "Blue's Clues" ♪

♪ 'Cause it's a really great game. ♪

So, remember

Blue's paw prints will be on the clues: "Blue's Clues."

Look.

The paw print is stretching.

You know, we should stretch out, you know, before we move.

Ooh, reach way up...

and then way down, touch your toes if you can.

Ahh...

Yeah, I feel great.

We're ready to move.

Thanks, paw print.

You know what we need to play Blue's Clues?

Our handy-dandy...

Notebook.

Notebook, right. Come on.

Hey, Sidetable, what are you doing?

I'm swaying back and forth.

Do you want to sway with me?

Sure.

Will you sway with us?

Great.

Um, Steve?

Yeah.

Don't you want your notebook?

Oh, right.

[music starts]

To play Blue's Clues we got to find a...

Paw print!

Oh, a paw print, right.

And that's our first...?

Clue!

A clue?

Then we put it in our... Notebook!

♪ We got to find another paw print, that's the second clue ♪

♪ We put it in our notebook, 'cause they're whose clues? ♪

♪ Blue's clues!

♪ We got to find the last paw print, that's the third clue ♪

♪ We put it in our notebook

♪ 'Cause they're Blue's clues, Blue's clues. ♪

♪ You know what to do

♪ Sit down in our thinking chair ♪

♪ And think, think, think

♪ 'Cause when we use our minds and take a step at a time ♪

♪ We can do anything...

[barks]

♪ That we want to do.

[music ends]

You know, I can tell

I'm really going to need your help today, trying to figure out

what Blue wants to make a dance about.

You will help, right?

Great.

So which way did Blue go?

[drum playing march rhythm]

Did you see?

That way!

That way?

Oh, and can you show me how she was moving?

Oh, she was marching, like this.

[drum playing march rhythm]

♪ We are marching for Blue's clues ♪

♪ Wonder where they are.

[drumming continues]

A clue! A clue!

[drumming stops]

Did you say "a bassoon"?

No, it's a clue.

Oh.

Oh, there's a clue on that pot.

We have our first clue.

You know what we need?

Our handy-dandy...

Notebook.

Notebook, right.

We start with an oval, then a U shape for the bottom,

curves for the handles.

There, a pot.

Our first clue.

So, what could Blue want to make a dance about with a pot?

Maybe... but let's keep looking for clues, see if that's it.

Ooh... watch this.

Isn't that cool?

It's all wobbly.

Hey, I wonder if we can wobble.

Let's see.

Okay, we're wobbling.

PAIL: Over here.

No, over there.

Hi, Steve.

I made a dance about how this leaf moves in the wind.

Do you want to be in my leaf dance?

Sure.

Do you want to be in Pail's leaf dance?

Great.

So, how does this leaf dance go?

It goes the way that the leaf moves, Steve:

twirl... and then hop.

So it's twirl and hop.

Now you try, Steve.

Okay, so, it's twirl...

and, uh...

I can't remember what move comes next in Pail's leaf dance.

What move comes next?

Hop.

Hop, of course!

So it's twirl,

and then hop on one foot.

Will you do the leaf dance with me?

Great.

[music begins playing]

Twirl...

Hop.

Wow, good dancing.

You look just like a leaf twirling and hopping in the wind.

That was great.

Thanks for dancing with me.

Hey, Shovel.

Hi, I made a dance

about the way this dandelion moves in the wind.

Do you want to be in my dandelion dance?

Of course.

You will dance with me again, right?

Great.

Okay, my dandelion dance goes like this:

shiver... bend... explode!

Shiver, bend, explode!

Now you do it.

Oh, it's my turn.

Okay, um...

So, I know it starts with shiver,

but what comes next in the dandelion dance?

Bend, explode!

Right.

After shiver comes bend and explode.

Poof!

Well, will you do the whole dandelion dance with me?

Great.

[music begins playing]

Shiver...

bend...

explode!

Poof!

You did it!

We did do it.

That was cool.

Did you see that?

Hi, I'm making up a dance

about how that seed pod moves in the wind.

Watch this.

Okay, well, let's watch and listen.

All right, Periwinkle, go ahead.

It's called Periwinkle's Seed Pod Slide.

It goes like this: slide, slide...

pirouette, jump!

Slide, slide, pirouette, jump!

Okay.

Uh...

Do you remember the moves in Periwinkle's dance?

Slide, slide, pirouette, jump.

Right, right, it's slide, slide, pirouette, jump.

Thanks.

But how do we do those moves?

Could you show me?

Oh, okay.

So it's, uh, two slides, like this:

slide, slide.

All right.

And then turn around on one foot for the pirouette.

Kind of like this.

And then you jump.

All right, let's do Periwinkle's Seed Pod Slide.

Here we go.

[music begins playing]

Slide, slide...

pirouette...

jump.

We did it.

Oh, there goes my seed pod!

Bye, Periwinkle.

Yeah, all those things "blew" in the wind.

Steve, a clue!

Oh, the wind blew in a clue.

And it's, um... what is this?

A plate.

Yeah, there's a clue on this plate.

You know what we need?

Our handy-dandy...

Notebook.

Notebook, right.

Let's draw an oval, and a second oval just inside.

There, a plate.

Our second clue.

Hey, what was our first clue?

A pot!

A pot, right.

And now our second clue is a plate.

Well, what could Blue want to make a dance about

with a pot and a plate?

Maybe.

What would that look like?

A dance like that?

Cool!

But we better find one more clue just to be sure.

MAILBOX: ♪ Mail time, mail time...

The mail's here!

♪ Mail time, mail time...

You'll dance with me, right?

Okay.

♪ Here's the mail, it never fails ♪

♪ It makes me want to wag my tail ♪

♪ When it comes, I want to wail, "Mail!" ♪

[barks]

Hey, Steve, I just practiced bouncing

with my dance teacher, Jukebox.

You gotta try it.

Okay, come on, let's bounce.

Nice bouncing, Steve.

Here's your letter.

Thanks.

We just got a letter.

[music begins playing]

♪ Wonder who it's from.

It's a letter from our friends.

WOMAN: ♪ When you feeling kind of crazy do the windblown Daisy... ♪

♪ When you're feeling kind of funky, ♪

♪ Like a spunky kind of monkey... ♪

[monkey hooting]

♪ Get up and make yourself a dance... ♪

♪ Like you got ants in your pants ♪

One thing I'll say,

our friends really know how to boogie.

[Blue barking along with the song]

Ooh, come on.

Uh-oh, I don't know what to do.

Blue just skidooed to help.

Let's go, too.

♪ Blue skidoo, we can too.

Hi.

What's wrong?

I'm sad because I'm a choreographer without any dancers.

A choreographer?

Yep, a choreographer.

That's a person who makes up dances.

And I just choreographed a dance

about some monkeys and a baby lion.

But I don't have any dancers to be in it.

Oh, well, we could be in your dance.

Blue could dance the part of the baby lion

and we could be the monkeys.

You'll be... a monkey with me, right?

Great.

Hey-hey... we're the monkeys.

Okay.

Now I'll tell you how to dance

the story of "The Baby Lion and the Monkeys."

Once upon a time,

the baby lion and the monkeys played hide and seek.

[monkey hooting]

The baby lion snuck off to go hide.

[Blue barks]

And the monkeys went to look for her.

[hooting]

All of a sudden, they came to a pit of sticky mud

with some rocks in it.

To get across the mud,

the monkeys had to stretch a foot out

to go from rock to rock without falling in.

Well... could you show me how to stretch a foot out

to go from rock to rock?

Great, got it, let's go.

So, we stretch a foot out like this...

and then we go from rock to rock.

Cool.

The monkeys kept looking for the baby lion.

They got to a low tunnel with a magic door.

To open the door,

the monkeys had to do a slow pirouette.

Then they had to march through the tunnel.

Um... could you show me how to do a slow pirouette

and then march through a low tunnel?

Okay, I got it.

You'll dance with me, right?

Great.

So, a slow pirouette you, uh...

turn slowly, like this.

The door opened!

And now we scrunch down

and march through the tunnel, like this.

[imitating monkey]

We did it.

Thanks.

Up ahead, the monkeys

could see the baby lion hiding.

[Blue imitates lion]

The monkeys decided to slide gently behind the tree

and then tiptoe to the baby lion.

[Blue imitates lion]

So, I'm really going to need some help here.

Could you show me how to slide gently

and then tiptoe?

Oh, okay, got it.

You'll do it with me, right?

Great.

So, we slide gently.

And then we tiptoe to the baby lion.

[barking]

We found you!

The end.

Take a bow.

Ready?

Let's bow.

That was great.

We told a whole story just by dancing.

[Blue barking]

Oh, come on.

A clue!

Yeah, you can move like a monkey, too.

No, it's a clue!

That's good, that's good, I like that.

[hooting like a monkey]

Steve, a clue!

Oh, you see a clue.

There's a clue... on those squiggly lines.

You know what we need?

Our handy-dandy...

Notebook.

Notebook, right.

Make some lines that squiggle around.

And we have squiggly lines.

Hey, we have all three clues.

We're ready to sit in our...

Thinking chair.

Thinking chair.

Let's go.

Okay, now that we're in our thinking chair, let's think.

You will help, right?

Great.

So, we're trying to figure out

what Blue wants to make a dance about

and our clues are:

a pot...

a plate...

and squiggly lines.

So what could Blue want to make a dance about

with a pot, a plate and squiggly lines.

Well, let's think.

We could put the squiggly lines in the pot.

What would we be doing then?

Right!

We'd be cooking them!

But... but where could we put them

after they were done cooking?

Maybe on the plate?

So if the squiggly lines got cooked in a pot

and then we put them on a plate, what would that be?

Spaghetti!

Spaghetti, yeah!

Because spaghetti is cooked in a pot

and you can eat it on a plate and it's kind of squiggly.

Blue, do you want to make up a dance about spaghetti?

[barks happily]

We just figured out Blue's Clues!

[music begins playing]

♪ Because we're really smart!

Come on, Blue, show us the spaghetti dance.

[Blue barking happily]

Okay, looks like everyone is ready.

Remember how we danced like a leaf,

a dandelion and a seed pod?

Blue, I hear you're choreographing

a dance about spaghetti.

What a good idea.

It's the choreographer.

Hi.

Remember, we were in his dance

about monkeys and a baby lion?

All right.

Ready?

Spaghetti.

You will dance with us right?

Great.

Presenting the Spaghetti dance.

First: we're uncooked spaghetti,

stiff and straight.

[Blue barking excitedly]

Now we're in the pot jumping around.

PERIWINKLE: We're starting to get all cooked and wriggly.

[all laughing]

Now we're a plate of spaghetti.

[Blue barking excitedly]

I'm a meatball!

And I'm sauce!

What a great spaghetti dance.

Hey, thanks for all your help today.

From jump, twirl, wriggle to being spaghetti,

you were a big help.

[music begins playing]

♪ Now it's time for so long

♪ But we'll sing just one more song ♪

♪ Thanks for doing your part

♪ You sure are smart

♪ You know, with me and you

♪ And my dog, Blue

♪ We can do anything

♪ That we want to do.
