"Criminal Minds: Evolution"...

I know my own rules.

Your rules? My rules.

Don't you ever forget that.

How can I?

LEWIS: We are pursuing the leader

of a network of serial K*llers.

That's your sister.

She went missing years ago.

You didn't join that
network, you infiltrated it.

I know that you don't
remember what happened

the night Alison went missing.

I know that all the important
details are, like, in this fog.

What if I could lift that fog?

I want you to picture
your sister's face.

- Go back to the last time you saw her.
- Tyler.

- Tyler!

you tell me if your
brother's going to be here.

ALISON: Alright. What's wrong with you?

TYLER GREEN: He was right
there. But I couldn't see him.

Did you have to, uh, arm wrestle Bailey?

Believe it or not, Bailey

And we now have one sh*t to
keep the Sicarius case open.

So what have we got?

Okay, a half-dozen stalker photos

survived the expl*si*n
inside a Haeberlein case.

But one photo in particular stands out.

Her name is Maria Jones.

Now, her DNA was not recovered
inside the shipping container.

Penelope had to identify
her using facial recognition

because her body was
found over years ago

outside Raleigh, North Carolina.

Okay, her boyfriend, Silvio Herrera,

was convicted of k*lling her.

Yeah, he confessed to doing it.

He's now sitting on death row.

Then, I mean, why would Maria's
photo be in Sicarius' container?

That can't be a coincidence.

I mean, look at this bank clock here.

It says : , right?

But prosecutors claim that Maria
was abducted before midnight.

Maybe Maria was an early victim,

before Sicarius refined his methodology.

Before he committed
to "no body, no crime."

Before he buried the
shipping containers.

Okay, so if that's true, then somehow,

he persuaded Silvio to confess.

So, we've been slowly but surely

The lab said she had crab

In the first container, this

LEWIS: Silvio Herrera was a
member of the Mala Noche g*ng,

but his record was for
dealing, not for m*rder.

Yeah, but there's his confession.

You heard him. He...
He didn't just admit it.

He asked us to put a needle in his arm.

PRENTISS: Sicarius has a
pattern with his followers.

One of them gets caught,
they k*ll themselves.

What if Silvio was a trial run for that?

So instead of getting
Silvio to commit su1c1de,

he gets him to agree to take the rap?

I mean, maybe, but this guy
was on death row for years.

That's plenty of time
to change your mind.

Why didn't Silvio Herrera?

Maybe Sicarius had something on him.

Something we don't know.

Because he couldn't send him
threatening letters in prison.

Everything Silvio got was screened.

Maybe the thr*at is more symbolic.

Well, then it would have to be something

only Silvio would understand
without being too obvious.

I'm gonna get his
belongings sent over here.

When were you going to tell me?

Um, I'll be right back.

Listen, I promise I was gonna call you

as soon as we had something.

You could have given me the heads up,

just like I gave you and your team.

You didn't have to do
this behind my back.

- Don't you trust me?
- Of course I trust you,

but we weren't sure what
we were dealing with.

But you knew the players.

Prosecuting Silvio
Herrera launched my career.

It got me elected DA
and recruited by the DOJ,

for Christ's sakes.

I'm one step away from being
an Associate Attorney General.

Yes, and that is why I did
not want to risk upsetting you

with a theory.

What kind of theory?

There's something off about this case.

He got details wrong... basic details.

Did he or did he not confess?

Yes, likely because Sicarius
has something on him.

Benjamin Reeves is dead,
so what does it matter...

Benjamin Reeves is not Sicarius.

So your theory

is really more like a conspiracy theory?

And you're using that to
undermine my entire career?

I am not trying to hurt you.

If this guy is connected to Sicarius

and he is put to death,
we lose everything.

Right now, you're going to lose me.

Don't say that.

I know Silvio Herrera is guilty,

and I know how I feel about you,

but if you go all the
way with this, it's over.

There are too many victims.

I can't keep track of
all this horribleness.

Yeah, I know, but we are
starting to find a pattern...

victimologies.

The first container
was filled with victims

living very high-risk lifestyles...

people that wouldn't be missed.

But in container number two,

that was filled with victims
in the low-risk category.

Right, folks that were well
connected to their community

and their jobs and their families.

And they were all reported missing.

I see your low risk
and raise you a parent.

So far, every single
victim we've identified

in the second container had children.

Okay, yeah. Including
Tyler Green's sister.

And... And what about Maria Jones?

Her photo was in there, too.

Uh, I... I could have Tara ask.

It's kind of a bad time right now.

What? What's happening?

Is there gossip? Am I missing gossip?

Uh, you know what, I'll
fill you in later, okay?

Bye.

Hey. Those the personal effects
from Silvio Herrera's cell?

You don't want to talk about it?

Uh, look, I... I appreciate
you looking out for me.

I really do.

But everything I say or don't say

is blowing up in my face.

So can we just solve what's at hand

and talk about my crumbling
love life over a beer?

Yeah. Deal.

Wait a minute. Look at these.

Every one of these
letters has a postmark

from up and down the Eastern Seaboard.

All of them have a picture of this guy.

That matches the voyeuristic style

from the shipping containers.

I mean, as far as I can tell,

there's a letter here from every year

of Herrera's incarceration.

Including the year he was arrested.

"I confess to Almighty God and to you,

my brothers and sisters,

that I've sinned through my own fault,

in my thoughts and my words,

in what I have done and
what I have failed to do."

That's the Catholic confessional prayer.

And we profiled that Sicarius

had something on Silvio.

What if it's him?

What's his name?

Nobody.

Silvio, I'm gonna be honest with you.

When we brought you here,

we thought you were protecting a k*ller.

But you know what I think now?

I think you were
protecting him from one.

He's threatening you over what you did.

Or what you failed to do.

that he could k*ll mi

Yes.

Silvio and I were...
We loved each other.

We couldn't be out back then.

Not in Raleigh. Definitely
not in the Mala Noche.

Are you sure that no
one knew about you two?

We had to be good about hiding it.

But a few weeks before
Silvio was arrested,

we were discovered by this
man that we bought g*ns from.

This guy, Cyrus.

We had to pay him off to keep quiet,

but I remember how obsessed
he used to be with Maria.

And I always thought he had something

to do with k*lling her.

You never suspected Silvio?

He didn't k*ll Maria.

How can you be so sure?

Because I was with him
the night she disappeared.

We went to a drag ball in Kitts Creek.

It was our first time being
together around other people.

Can you prove that?

I have pictures from that night.

Why didn't you hand them over sooner?

I tried, but Silvio didn't want my help.

He told me he would deny everything.

And a day later, he confessed.

Juan, if you give those
pictures to us, the FBI can...

I don't need promises.

I stopped living in
fear when I left Raleigh.

Silvio has lost most of his
life trying to protect me.

And it's about time I return the favor.

Silvio Herrera's
refusing to talk anymore.

He is being transferred back
for execution at midnight.

He didn't do it.

We can take what we have
to the Attorney General.

It's a sliver, but it is something.

But first, it would certainly help

if the original prosecutor
withdrew the case.

Do you want me to talk to her?

No. No, I'll do it.

[SIGHS] This is impossible.

It's exonerating.

And we have an alternate suspect...

an illegal g*n dealer who
went by the name Cyrus.

He sold g*ns to the Mala Noche.

He showed an interest in Maria Jones.

He found out the Juan
and Silvio were lovers

and then he blackmailed Silvio.

Back then, there was this
Cyrus suspected of running g*ns,

but that name never
came up in the trial.

Rebecca, we are running out of time.

You are the only person
who can pick up the phone

and convince the governor
to stay this execution.

I want you to tell me something.

Tell me what happens
when I make that call.

Honestly, I don't know.

Now, tell me that Silvio
Herrera is % innocent.

I'd bet my life on it.

[SIGHS]

It's been a long time
since I've been down here.

My sister worked around here.

I tell you, Alison sounds
like she was the best.

Yeah, she was.

Actually, we're really close
to where she used to work.

It's right around the corner.

This little dive called Delilah's.

Delilah's? Wasn't that where...

It's okay. Yeah, it's where
she wanted me to meet her

the night she went missing. [SIGHS]

Everything okay?

Oak Street.

Oak Street wasn't always Oak Street.

- I'm sorry?
- Taxi!

Tyler, uh, I'm so sorry.

Here... Here are my, uh, keys.

You can wait there and I... I can...

I can meet you at my place later.

I just... I have to
get back to the office.

What? Can I help?

Um, no. No, you can't.

I...

Okay, I... I gotta go. Goodbye.

Hey.

- I am so sorry I...
- I know I did the right...

You first.

I know I did the right thing,

but I got the call.

I'm under review.

This wasn't your fault.

- I... I should have been...
- Let me finish.

I have never not been on your side.

But you couldn't be honest
with me about what you needed.

And that's not fair.

Um, can we talk about this at home?

No.

Uh, um, why not?

Because I'm not going home.

[SIGHS]

Please give me some good news.

Alright.

I've been building a geo-profile.

A fraction of victims from
his Yakima County container

were reported missing.

You go to Whitfield County,

and the victim type shifts drastically.

They're all parents.

The kind of people that get
search parties and news stories.

So they're a challenge for him?

That's why he leaves them in Georgia,

far away from where he lives.

He wouldn't want to risk authorities

conducting a search
anywhere near his backyard.

We know he revisits the victims,

so the first container was likely close

to where he actually lives.

- You got it.
- Hey! Hey!

Forgive me. I know this is not
my area of expertise, but...

but I was on a walk
with... Never mind that.

Suffice to say, I think
that I have something

that will help us with
the Sicarius profile,

I just need... Yes. I need this.

Okay. Okay, look, all of
the identified victims,

no exceptions, have a
connection to the name

of a single location... Second Street.

Uh, I'm not qu... quite following.

I... I... I looked at all the
victim's biographies and...

and it's bananas.

Every single time, whether
it was where they worked,

where they hung out,
where they were last seen,

each and every one
crossed a Second Street

before they went missing.

Alison Green wouldn't fit that pattern.

I mean, there's nothing
here that says that she...

Alison Green... Alison
Green worked at Delilah's,

which still exists and is on Oak Street,

but in , Oak Street was
an extension of Second Street.

JENNIFER: She's right.

Basically, in whatever
city Sicarius finds himself,

Second Street is his
preferred hunting ground.

And maybe it's... it's wishful thinking

because Second Street is, like,

the most common name of a
street in the United States,

but maybe it means something to him.

It's not a coincidence.

Where he hunts is rooted

in something that's
deeply personal to him.

And who he hunts is a
form of transference.

Transference?

Meaning you think Sicarius is a father.

I do, because as a
parent, i... i... it...

it might explain why there's
so many gaps between kills.

The cooling off periods might line up

with his children's births.

Father by day, serial k*ller by night.

That's why he's so disciplined,

but that's how we're gonna
catch this son of a bitch.

- Through his family.
- [RADIO CHATTER]

Well, well.

The prodigal son returns.

Took you long enough.

Yeah, sometimes when I close my eyes,

- it's like I never left.
- Oh.

That's what you been doing
the last f*cking years?

- Yeah.
- Just thinking about this place?

Even after I went to school.

After I fell in love, got
married, had two daughters,

I can't get this f*cking
place out of my head.

CYRUS LEBRUN: Huh.

After everything I taught you,

you still think you can be normal.

- No, I'm still what you made me.
- Oh.

Is that why you came back, huh?

- To blame me?
- I could've had a chance.

I could've been different.

No, you couldn't.

Our vice is in our blood.

Need I remind you

of the real reason you
came into my custody?

It's you. The one they're
all talking about.

Sicarius.

Did you come here to k*ll me?

Oh, I already k*lled you an hour ago.

Slipped some naproxen in your IV.

I just came here to
watch an old man die.

I see.

You dumb son of a bitch.

If I die, they'll connect me to you.

No, they won't.

They'll just find a lonely old
man who d*ed of kidney failure.

- [LAUGHS, COUGHS]
- [BREATHES SHAKILY]

I always knew it.

Family's what gets you k*lled.

You'll find that out soon enough.

And that little family of yours? Yeah.

They'll find out, too.
