PINKALICIOUS (voiceover): You never know what might be living in your garden.

I hope this grows into a beautiful pink tulip!

NORMAN: Hey!

Peter, did you say something?

Nope.

Wasn't me.

NORMAN: Watch it, will ya?

You're getting dirt on my hat!

Hm...

♪ ♪

(gasps)

Who are you?

Hi, I'm Norman, your garden gnome.

Garden gnome?

I've never met a real garden gnome before!

(chuckling): Well, now you have!

Nice to meet you, Norman.

I'm Pinkalicious.

Whoa!

Who are you?

Hello!

I'm Norman, your garden gnome.

Well how about that!

Pleased to meet you, Norman.

(chuckles) I didn't even know we had a garden gnome.

Well, now you do!

Every garden needs a garden gnome.

How come?

To watch over them, of course!

We protect them from rabbits, snails...

anything that could eat your plants.

Ah... so, where do you want me?

Well, let's see.

DAD: My petunia patch could use some watching over.

Or the rose bushes...

Oh, and the irises, too.

They could definitely use your help.

I'll stay here where I can see everything.

Thanks, Norman.

I think our garden is in very good hands.

Thanks for helping plant those bulbs.

I'm going to go get dinner started.

(deeper voice): The sea monster is going to get you!

PINKALICIOUS: Take this, sea monster!

Arrrgh!

Pirates?

I'm not afraid of pirates!

(gasps)

Arrrgh! (giggling)

(Pinkalicious squeals)

Hurry up!

(giggling)

(giggling, squealing continues)

Garden alert!

Garden alert!

And this!

Ahh!

I heard shouting, is everything all right?

No, everything is not all right!

There are pirates in the yard

and they're very close to the garden!

Oh!

We're not really pirates, Norman.

We were just playing a game.

Are you sure you don't want to play with us?

I-I-I don't have time for games.

The garden's not going to guard itself, you know.

Totally understood, Norman.

Umm...

The kids won't play close to the garden.

Right, guys?

Sure, Daddy. No problem.

Okay!

What do we do now?

(gasps)

We can pretend to be a rock and roll band!

(imitating guitar) (giggles)

Yeah!

Or we can be astronauts that just landed on Mars!

Ooh, I know!

We can play dinosaurs!

Yes!

I love that idea, Peter!

Yay! Great idea!

I'm a Pinkadactyl!

Roar!

I'm a plant eater, and I'm hungry for a snack!

(giggles) Watch out!

Tyrannosaurus Rex is gonna get you, plant eater!

(giggles)

(gasps)

Did somebody say plant eater?

Roar!

Garden alert!

What is going on out here?

Garden alert!

There's a plant eater in the garden!

Not a real plant eater, Norman.

We were just pretending we were dinosaurs.

What's pretending?

You know, making believe you're something else.

Haven't you ever played pretend?

Nope.

Never heard of it.

But it's so fun!

You should come pretend with us!

Yeah, come on, Norman!

We'll show you how.

It'll be fun!

But I have a job to do!

Actually, I think that's a great idea.

I'd be happy to watch over the garden for you, Norman.

In fact, I insist.

Pretending's fun!

(laughing): Yeah, lots of fun!

So, Norman, what do you want to pretend to be?

I have no idea!

The only thing I know how to be is a garden gnome!

A sea monster is super fun!

Oh, I couldn't possibly do that.

Pretending is too hard.

I know! An elephant!

(trumpeting)

Most certainly not!

That looks even harder!

(growling) (trumpeting)

(groans)

I told you I wouldn't be able to pretend.

I better go back to the garden.

You don't have to be any of those things, Norman.

That's the fun about pretending,

you can make believe you're anything you want to be!

A dinosaur?

A shark?

How about a lion!

I've always wondered what it would be like to be a lion.

Hey, you guys, Norman's pretending to be a lion!

That's it, you're walking like a lion!

Now let's hear your best liony roar!

(clears throat)

I am a lion.

It's a start.

You'll get the hang of it!

Maybe you can start with something easier.

(singing)

I'll just go back to my job watching over the garden.

Shoo! Shoo! Shoo!

(gasps) Norman!

Do you know what you're doing?

I'm shooing the rabbits!

I make them think I'm a rabbit and then I surprise them.

Works every time!

But that's pretending, Norman!

You acted like you were a rabbit

and the rabbits thought you really were a rabbit!

(laughing): You're right!

I did pretend!

(chuckles) For a minute there,

I believed I was a rabbit!

(chuckling): It's all part of my job.

(giggles)

Can we pretend to be rabbits, too?

Okay!

But it's not easy.

You've got to hop a lot.

I think you're getting the hang of it!

Now try wiggling your nose!

Hey, Norman!

Maybe now you can be a lion chasing the rabbits.

Roar!

Ah!

Run away!

It's a lion!

(playful chatter, squealing)

Roar!

Norman the lion!

Roar!

(squeals) Get away, run!

Roar!

Hey, where'd everybody go?

I was only pretending!

(laughing)

(indistinct chatter)

Roar!

Go this way!

(chatter, squealing)

PINKALICIOUS (voiceover) It's so much fun playing pretend with Norman.

For a little gnome, he has a huge imagination!

KIDS: That's artalicious!

Okay, guys, here's my game.

The person who's it is the person visiting the museum,

and they're going to announce

which gallery they're going to.

Then they will tap one of the statues on the head.

Then it will come to life.

And you have three chances to guess what that statue

is trying to be.

Peck, peck.

A woodpecker!

Yes.

(imitating monkey)

Gorilla?

(continues imitating monkey)

Monkey? Yeah.

I'm going to visit the beach gallery.

♪ ♪

You, no running,

slow down over there!

A lifeguard.

Put your ear up against me.

(makes steady whooshing sound)

Are you a shell?

Yes.

GIRL: I love this game because you can pretend

acting out different animals, peoples, or things

just by using your voice and movements.

Whoo!

(imitating surf music riff)

A surfer. Yeah.

And I'm going to visit the underwater gallery.

♪ ♪

(imitating bubbles)

An octopus?

A jellyfish?

Yeah! (laughs)

GIRL : Sometimes this game can be hard

because you're not wearing a costume,

and you have to think of

a movement and a voice of that thing

that you're trying to be does.

(indistinct chatter)

GIRL : You can use your voice and your body to be whatever you imagine.

I love this game.

GIRL : Yeah, me too!

PINKALICIOUS: "Space Dancing."

PINKALICIOUS (voiceover) Jasmine and I are going to put on a dance show!

What should our show be about?

I don't know.

But I want it to be the most pinkatastic show ever!

Something we've never done before.

PETER: Zoom!

Zoom!

(gasps)

What about a mermaid dance?

We did that last time, remember?

Zoom! Zoom!

Zoom!

Right...

I know!

How about a cupcake dance?

That was the time before.

Remember, you were the icing...

(laughing): And I melted all over the lawn!

Yahoo! Whoo!

(giggling)

Zoom!

Zoom!

Peter, what are you doing?

I'm Spaceman!

I'm flying to the moon!

Zoom!

(gasps) (gasps)

The moon! The moon!

We've never done a moon dance before.

Not just a moon dance...

We can do a space dance!

With all kinds of things you can find in space.

Like the moon, and the sun, and the planets, and the stars!

(imitating whirring)

(imitating brakes screeching)

A space dance?

Can I be in it?

I know how to walk like an astronaut in space.

♪ ♪

And I already have the costume!

Of course, Peter.

Ooh! Can I be Saturn?

I've got a hula hoop that looks just like a planet ring.

I'll go get it!

What are you going to be Pinkalicious?

Guess!

(squealing)

A sh**ting star, right?

Right!

Saturn is in orbit!

So, how should the dance start?

I could blast into space!

Good thinking, Spaceman!

We can start with a countdown!

Ready?

Ten...

Nine...

Eight...

Blast-off!

Spaceman!

I didn't finish counting down!

(giggling)

What comes next?

Hm...

(gasps)

What if we see all the planets dancing in space?

But we only have one planet.

Me!

You're right.

We're going to need some more planets and stars.

Hm...

What are you doing?

We're making up a space dance.

I'm Spaceman!

(giggling)

Hey, can we play, too?

Sure!

You can be any planet or star you want.

Except Saturn, that's taken.

(giggling)

Well, the only planet I've ever been to is Earth.

Then you can be Earth!

Look!

I'm spinning on my axis!

Very earthy!

What do you want to be, Rafael?

I'm not sure.

Let's see...

How about the sun?

Yes!

And all the planets can dance around you!

This is going to be the most pinkcredible dance ever!

We should put on the show for our parents!

(all agreeing)

At night!

(all agreeing)

Then there will be real stars in the sky!

It'll be like we're really in space!

It's going to get dark soon.

We better start practicing.

Right! Right!

(clicks on) (music starts playing)

Then Spaceman zooms...

...around the earth!

And spacewalks right past Saturn!

And around the sun...

Uh...

Not too close, Spaceman.

And just misses the sh**ting star!

Who wants a space snack?

(cheering)

Apple juice and cantaloupe.

You mean moon juice and moon rocks?

(giggles)

(all laughing)

Mm! Yummy!

That's good moon juice.

Thanks, Daddy! Thank you, Mr. P!

(chuckles)

Hey, how's the dance coming along?

Pinkatastic!

We've been practicing all day!

Pinkapractice makes pinkaperfect.

We just need to make up the finale.

What's a finale?

A big ending where we all dance together.

I can't wait to see it.

And your parents all said they would come.

(cheering)

At sundown?

That's right!

We better get to work on the finale.

Sundown will be here before we know it.

Okay, is everybody ready to try the finale?

ALL: Ready!

Wait!

How does it go again?

(sighs) Peter, we just went over it!

Well, it is a lot to remember, Pinkalicious.

Okay.

First, we start with the twist...

And then we take three giant steps on our tippy toes

with our knees up to our chest...

♪ ♪

Then comes the turn and leap.

♪ ♪

And then we end with a big bow, right?

Right, Peter.

Okay, let's take it from the top!

(clicks on) (music playing)

The twist!

Oof! Sorry!

That's okay.

Let's try it again.

What if we practice it slower without the music?

I like the way you think, Saturn!

(clicks off) (music stops)

Okay.

And three...

Two...

One.

Twist!

Oh!

I messed up again!

You just need to keep practicing, Peter.

Pinkapractice makes pinkaperfect.

It's a really tough move for me, too, Peter.

And I'm a lot older than you.

Why don't we practice the next step?

That one's easier.

You just walk on your tippy toes.

(gasps)

You're great at walking on your tippy toes, Peter!

It's like that giraffe walk you do in kindergarten.

Oh yeah!

Tippy toes, tippy toes...

♪ ♪

And now the turn and leap!

Oof!

(sighs)

Awww, I give up!

I can't do the finale.

I'm ruining it!

We can practice some more.

Right?

Oh sure.

Yeah. Right.

Whatever you need, Peter.

If you keep practicing, you'll get better at it.

We still have a little time before sundown.

I'll never learn it by then!

You better do the dance without me.

(gasps) Peter!

I'm not doing the dance!

We can't have a space dance without Spaceman.

Then you better find a Spaceman who won't mess up.

Everybody messes up sometimes.

But I have practiced and I can't do it.

There's one thing you haven't practiced.

It's show time!

(groans)

So are you going to be in the dance or not?

Peter?

(sighs)

MAYOR: I wonder what they're going to do.

DAD: They have been practicing.

I mean, the things that they've been doing,

it's incredible!

What kind of performance is it?

Where's Peter?

Is he going to be in the show?

I'm not sure.

He doesn't think he can do it.

But we need our Spaceman!

PETER: Hey!

What are you waiting for?

It's time to blast off!

(cheering)

(indistinct chatter)

Thank you all for coming to our dance show:

"Spaceman in Space!"

(clicks on) (music playing)

In the Pinkville galaxy, one brave spaceman

gets ready to explore where no spaceman

has explored before!

Ten...

Nine...

Eight... Seven...

Six... Five...

Four... Three...

Two... One.

Blast off!

First, he zooms around the Earth as it spins on its axis.

Then he spacewalks around Saturn.

And he walks, uh...

just a little too close

to the sun.

Yowch!

That's hot!

(laughter)

And he just misses a sh**ting star.

Phew!

That was a close one!

(laughter)

And now for the finale of "Spaceman in Space!"

I can do this.

I can do this!

♪ ♪

Spaceman danced with all the planets and the stars

in the entire universe!

(quietly): The twist!

Tippy toes!

And now the turn and leap!

I can do this!

♪ ♪

(parents gasp)

♪ ♪

The end!

(applause) Bravo!

I did it!

(cheers and applause)

MAYOR (laughing): All right!

DAD: Good job, guys!

PINKALICIOUS (voiceover): I knew all along Peter would be a Peterrific Spaceman.

He just needed to believe in himself.
