[upbeat music]

- Southern California. hours.

The dawn of a new adventure.

[upbeat music]

From this Western coast of America,

teams will embark on a race around the world

for $ million.

[upbeat music]

U.S. Marine Corps helicopters

are speeding the teams to the Joint Forces training base

in Los Alamitos, home to the California National Guard

and the Army Reserve.

The teams are Christie and Jodi,

friends and both flight attendants.

- We have a lot of travel tips that are insider information.

- Right.

- Maybe that people aren't aware of.

Blonde women in foreign countries

really kind of can get away with m*rder.

And we are going to use that.

- Right. - To our advantage.

- [Phil] Tammy and Victor, siblings,

both lawyers from California.

- Victor and I both went to law school at Harvard,

although about years apart,

since Victor is about a decade older than me.

- Nine years, nine years,

I'm used to thinking of her as the three year old

running around the house, you know,

trying to get people to pay attention to her.

- I would love for us to get to a point

where he feels like he can rely on me and count on me.

- [Phil] Margie and Luke, mother and son from Colorado.

- I'm totally deaf. And I don't read lips.

My mom is my link to hearing people on the race.

- I think the advantage that Luke and I have

is that we can communicate

and no one knows what we're saying.

- I wanna be on the Amazing Race to show the world

that deaf people can do it.

- Steven and Linda, married years, from Virginia.

- We're gonna probably to many be seen

as the Hicks from the sticks.

- The Hillbillies. - The Hillbillies.

- The country bumpkins. And that's.

- That's good. - Probably all true.

[laughing]

- [Phil] Kisha and Jen, sisters.

and former college athletes.

- This is the first time that my sister and I

actually be on the same team.

- So it's kind of like we're heavily relying on each other.

Now we have to deal with each other's little, you know.

- Issues.

[both laughing]

- [Phil] Preston and Jennifer, dating two years,

from South Carolina.

- Our relationship is a constant battle for control.

- I love to be in charge.

- If I'm in charge, everything goes correctly.

- That is not true.

- [Phil] Brad and Victoria, married nine years, from Ohio.

- We are the badass older couple.

- Victoria and I are very active.

We work out regularly.

[Victoria shrieking]

- I think we're on a really level playing field,

even though we're older.

- [Phil] Mel and Mike, father and son from Virginia,

and Los Angeles.

- My dad and I are both writers.

I wrote a movie called "School of Rock."

- I've been out as a gay man for years.

- Being gay and having a gay father

definitely has its advantages.

You don't feel like you're disappointing your parents,

'cause they b*at you to the punch.

- [Phil] Amanda and Kris, dating three years,

from San Diego.

- Kris and I are around each other all the time.

We're practically attached to the hip.

- I know % that I want to be with her and no one else.

- [Phil] Mark and Michael, brothers,

and professional stuntmen.

- Michael and I are kind of in a small niche.

- We stunt double children in film and television.

We have a lot to bring to the table,

and big things come in small packages.

- [Phil] Jamie and Cara, friends

and former NFL cheerleaders.

- Oftentimes women who are aggressive and assertive

are viewed as a bitch or a villain.

I don't think that's fair,

but I ultimately don't give a crap

what everyone thinks about me.

I will do what I have to do to win.

- And she's not lying.

[laughing]

[dramatic music]

- Welcome, everyone.

In just a few minutes, you'll be leaving

on a race around the world.

The race is split up into a number of legs.

And as you travel, you'll have to complete various tasks.

At the end of each leg of the race, there is a pit stop.

Eight of these pit stops are elimination points,

so you need to get to them as fast as you can,

because if you're last, you'll be eliminated.

[dramatic music]

Your first clue is waiting inside the envelope

on top of the luggage you brought with you.

When I give you the word, you can run over to your bags,

read the clue, and jump into one of the parked cars.

The first team to cross the finish line

at the end of the race will win $ million.

[contestants cheering]

Is everybody ready?

- [All] Yeah.

[dramatic music]

- The world is waiting for you. Good luck.

Travel safe.

[dramatic music]

Go.

- [Linda] Go. Come on.

- [Amanda] Let's go, baby.

- [Mike] Come on, come on, come on.

- [Margie] Go, go, go.

- [Kisha] Right here, right here, right here.

- Make your way to Locarno, Switzerland.

- Switzerland.

- Begin by taking one of these two flights.

- The time of the flight.

- Departing and : and connecting to Zurich.

- Or Air France flight.

- Departing at p.m. and connecting to Milan, Italy.

- Let's go.

- Let's go.

[dramatic music]

- Sweet.

- Okay.

- Craziness.

- Get in.

- Let's go.

- Let's go, baby.

[dramatic music]

- This is so cool.

We're on the freaking Amazing Race, dude.

This is insane.

- All right, Jamie. We're doing this.

- It's on like Donkey Kong.

[laughing]

- [Jaime] Sweet.

- [Cara] Okay.

- Go, go.

[dramatic music]

We're on the Amazing Race.

- [Victor] I don't believe we're doing this.

- I know. We're doing good.

- Yes, yes, yes.

- Okay, we're going to Switzerland.

- This is insane.

- It's just so awesome. - Oh, my God.

- [Amanda] It's fun already.

[dramatic music]

- Okay, come on.

Shuttle stop right there.

Hi, terminal eight.

- [Phil] To get to their first destination,

teams must travel by plane to either Zurich or Milan,

and then by train to Locarno, Switzerland.

- Lufthansa is connecting through Zurich.

Air France is connecting through Milan.

Air France leaves second so let's go to Lufthansa.

- Let' go to Lufthansa first, sir.

- This is so exciting.

- I know.

- One's landing in Milan and one's landing in Zurich.

So which one's closer to where we're going to.

- It seems to me that Milan would be closest.

- [Mike] Air France? Okay.

- Thank you so much.

- [Driver] You're welcome.

- Lufthansa? - That way?

- Thank you.

- [Phil] The Lufthansa flight, departing first,

and landing in Zurich, carries Tammy and Victor.

- We chose the Lufthansa flight because

we didn't wanna deliberately choose the one that left later.

The big question of the day is did we make

the right decision or wrong decision.

And the idea of not knowing what's happening

with a whole other group of people

is very anxiety producing.

- [Phil] Also on the flight are Christie and Jodi,

Jamie and Cara,

Mark and Michael,

Brad and Victoria

and Margie and Luke.

- A few things that I'm worried about,

my mom might be really far behind me.

Make sure that she stays with me. Yeah.

- So I'm an old, slow person?

- No.

[Margie laughing]

[dramatic music]

- [Phil] The Air France flight, departing second,

and landing in Milan, carries Kisha and Jen.

- We got some information

that the train from Milan to Switzerland

is a lot shorter than what the first flight was,

so I think we're in a pretty good position.

- [Phil] Also on the Air France flight are Mel and Mike.

- [Mike] I think we're gonna surprise some people.

I've been doing pushups and sit ups

until the cows come home.

- I think the other teams might think my dad

is Cloris Leachman, but he's really MacGyver.

- [Phil] Also on board, Amanda and Kris,

Preston and Jennifer,

and Steve and Linda.

- We do come from a small town

and we did some traveling,

but nothing to the extent of what we're doing.

- We're very nervous about leaving the United States.

- Yeah, it's a major hurdle that we're trying to overcome.

[laughing]

[dramatic music]

- [Phil] The teams on the Lufthansa flight

will connect to a train in Zurich.

- Go, go, go, go.

- The train station's actually at the airport,

so we will take the train to go to Locarno.

[dramatic music]

- [Phil] The teams on the Air France flight

will catch their train in Milan.

- Where is the train station?

- This train, yeah? Yes.

- Train station.

It's right here.

[dramatic music]

- I don't think we're in the right place.

- I've never in my life even been to a train station.

[dramatic music]

- [Contestant] You guys arrived.

- Yeah, you got that right.

- [Linda] Let's get out of here. [dramatic music]

- [Jennifer] We missed our train. Way to go.

[dramatic music]

- Oh, brother.

- Wow. It looks unreal.

The landscape here is just incredible.

There's lakes, there's cottages,

and these monumental mountains with snowcaps on them.

- The idea that we'd be on this train ride,

going through the Switz Alps is ah.

[Brad choking up]

[upbeat music]

- We don't wanna be in the last group.

- Margie and Luke.

Their communication between each other is amazing.

- [Tammy] Luke is just as capable if not more capable

than everyone else here.

- I hope the other teams' plane got canceled.

[Margie laughing]

[dramatic music]

- [Mike] Now we'll see if we chose the right flight

or the wrong flight.

- They could be couple of hours ahead of us.

Or couple of hours

- Behind us. - Or they could have.

- Oh, man.

[dramatic music]

- So we missed our train.

- Come on.

- Oh, there is no love in the air right now.

He's frustrated and I can't be around a frustrated person.

It's annoying.

- You say stuff that just irritates me

- Because you don't think. - Well, you need to.

- Maybe you need to. - Control your anger.

- Maybe you need to control your mouth.

Our Type A personalities are always in conflict.

It's not just the race. It's in real life.

- Quit. Just stop. - When you act like that.

- That's what you get. - No.

- You're not gonna get the last word in. [upbeat music]

- Try to change the train.

- It's faster. - Are you going to Locarno?

- Yes.

- Can we follow you?

- Yes, probable.

We found a lady that was going exactly where we were going.

She said she would take us directly to Locarno.

We're just gonna follow her and go with her.

- [Jodi] And we'll get in minutes before them, hopefully.

- [Christie] We're gonna be sneaky.

We just have to do the best that we can do

and not worry about what everyone else is doing.

- You see anyone?

- Uh, uh.

- We're missing Christie and Jodi?

- Yeah. Christie and Jodi

[dramatic music]

- We made it.

- We made it.

- [Phil] Teams must now race on foot

to the Church of San Antonio,

where they'll sign this register

and receive a message from the priest.

- San Antonio plaza.

- Si. - Man, she's moving.

- Yeah.

[dramatic music] - Okay, let's go this way.

- Luke, he just grabs my hand and we go.

I feel like I'm just kinda flying behind him.

- Let's go, let's go.

- This way, ma'am.

- Plaza San Antonio?

That way? Thank you.

This way, let's go.

- Do you know the Church of San Antonio?

- This way.

- Okay, thank you. - Thank you.

[dramatic music]

- Church. Thank you.

[kisses landing]

- Buongiorno

- Are we the first ones to sign?

- Yes.

At : a.m. be ready

- To continue your journey. - To continue your journey.

- [Both] Follow the map to the campsite.

- Found the right street. Right there.

We're team number two.

At : a.m..

- Hello.

- At :.

- I think we came in third.

[laughing]

And I'm . Yay.

- One, two, three, four. : a.m.

- The church. Here it is.

Our time is :.

[dramatic music]

- See if you can see a priest.

- Come on, come on.

- I'm tired.

- Linda, we're blowing it.

- I'm trying hard. I can't breathe.

- Padre, senore.

We're the last to get on this. Yes.

Gracias.

- Where do we go? Where's the priest?

- We have a : departure,

which is the last departure,

so we're gonna have some time to make up.

- Buongiorno.

We're at :.

- This is it, Linda. You gotta step it up.

- I'm stepping it.

- We're gonna be eliminated.

- We got to do this. - I'm trying to.

- [Both] Buongiorno.

- Our time is :.

- Damn, Linda. We're last in everything we do.

[dramatic music]

- Oh, exit.

- We can get there a little faster.

Thank you.

- : we leave.

We are last, we are last to depart.

Thank you. Gracias.

- What's going on?

- What is this?

- Hey, guys. How are you?

- Hi. Jodi.

Nice to meet you.

- Hi. I'm Christie.

- Wow. Guess hay isn't for horses, huh?

- I'm gonna make a pillow.

Oh, God, there's mosquitoes everywhere.

- I'm very surprised we made it.

I'm very happy.

- No one would think a deaf person

could make it to the top floor.

- I'm just gonna curl up right here.

[dramatic music]

- We're just slow

and there ain't a damn thing you can do about it.

You couldn't keep up.

- I'm sorry about that.

If I could have kept up better I would have.

I can't run. I just feel really bad about it.

And I'm tired and.

- [Steve] Everybody else is too.

- But they don't have their husbands yelling at 'em either.

[dramatic music]

I just don't know what to do.

I don't wanna lose. I wanna stay in this race really bad.

[dramatic music]

[dramatic music]

- Thank you.

- Thank you so much. - Graci.

- Thank you.

- Okay, this says wish you were here.

- [Phil] Using the provided picture,

teams must now race to the Verzasca Dam

where they'll find their next clue.

- Right here. Taxi.

Do you know where this is?

- Yes. - Okay.

- Ready, Mike?

- Okay, ready.

- And away we go.

- Taxi right there.

- Excuse me, do you know where this is?

- Yes.

- Okay, let's do it.

We'll take a cab.

Go, go, go.

- [Margie] Do you know where this is?

- [Driver] Yes.

- Go, go, go, go.

- Keep going 'cause we don't want to lose

the other two cabs.

- It says taxi right there on that sign

- We're losing time. What do we do?

Do we stand here?

- We don't have a choice.

Oh, come on.

[dramatic music]

- Is this it, Cara?

- Yep.

- Excuse me, sir.

Is this where you get a taxi?

- Do you a phone?

- Do you have a phone we can borrow?

Just to call the number?

- No, sorry. - Okay, thank you.

- Senori.

We went behind the church and the other taxis

were right behind the church.

- I think we're gonna catch up with some of :ers.

[dramatic music]

- This is k*lling me.

Is that a cab?

- There's a cab.

- Wanted a cab?

- Yes. - Yes. Thank you.

- It's mas importante.

- Which way?

- There's a taxi going by.

- Looks like this place is dead.

- [Driver] Valley Verzasca here.

- Thank you, Michael.

[Mark speaking foreign language]

- Valley Verzasca, we're here.

- sh**t, they b*at us here.

- Who has nerves of steel?

- [Phil] One team member must now perform

a death-defying leap off the second-highest bungee jump

in the world.

When they've successfully completed the jump,

they'll receive their next clue.

[Mark and Michael celebrating]

- Yeah. - I'm really proud of you.

- Okay, I'm gonna go.

Here I go.

- Go, Victor.

- Hello. - Hello.

- I'm ready to die.

I've never done something like this.

- Hi, I'm Michael. - Here come the other teams.

- Go ahead.

- Stay. - Stay, stay, stay.

- Who has nerves of steel?

- Me, me. - Luke.

- This is it. Here's the clue box.

You want me to do this?

- Yeah, do it.

- Holy crap.

This is insane.

- [Driver] That's the biggest in Europe.

- Oh, God. - Oh, good Lord. We're going.

- All right.

- Road block. - Road block.

- Oh, my God.

- I'll take it. - That's you, babe.

- I'll take it.

[dramatic music]

- Not a taxi.

Oh, Cara, I hate standing here and waiting.

- I know.

- They're getting the clear right now. It's :.

[dramatic music]

- Excuse me. Do you know where this is?

- Valley Verzasca.

- Verzasca?

- Two taxis, come on. Two taxis.

- Can you open the trunk, sir?

- Let's go.

- It's very important. We're last in a race.

Can we just go?

- Let's just go. - Yeah. Okay.

- They know where they're going.

- Is that a taxi?

That's it.

- Oh, look, it's the green team right there.

They left minutes ahead of us.

- Sir, can you go fast but follow the speed limit?

[dramatic music]

- Oh, my God.

- Don't look.

[both laughing]

- Oh, my good Lord. - Here we go.

- All right, Victor.

- Oh, my gosh.

[dramatic music]

- Oh, my God.

[dramatic music]

I did not know going into that challenge

if I had a fear of heights,

'cause I had never done something like that before

or even thought about it.

[dramatic music]

- I'm not happy.

[contestants laughing]

- [Mel] Are you nervous?

- I'm not happy.

[dramatic music]

- Edge right there, right?

- Yep.

- Oh, my God.

- You can do it.

- [Assistant] You ready?

- Yes.

- Okay, full power.

Three, two, one.

[contestants cheering]

- Arrrgh.

- Oh, my God.

Oh, my God.

Oh, my God.

- Oh, my God.

Oh, my God.

[contestants cheering]

- [Victor] That was like amazing.

Oh, wow.

- Sorry. I'm like squeezing you so tight.

- Scared? Are you scared?

- Yep.

- I'm scared now that I look down.

[Margie laughing]

- Ah, thank you, God.

- [Tammy] Yeah, Victor.

[contestants cheering]

Victor you were awesome.

- Take. - Thank you.

[contestants cheering]

Take a train to Interlaken.

- [Phil] Teams must now race by train to Interlaken

and find Kleine Rugen Wiese to receive their next clue.

- [Victor] We're the brown car. Train station.

Oh, my gosh that was crazy.

- Perform the second-highest bungee jump in the world.

- You all right?

- Yeah. The one thing I didn't wanna do.

- I know. I'm so sorry, girl.

- It's Jodi and Christie.

- Here they come, Jodi, Christie.

All right, guys.

- I'm glad that I decided to do this.

- As far as fear, we really don't have any fear.

I mean, our background speaks for itself.

- Arrrgh.

[dramatic music]

Yeah.

- [Jodi] Holy mother of God.

- Let's talk about this.

This is gonna be the most amazing thing you'll ever do.

- Road block.

Who has nerves of steel? Me.

- Here it is. All right, come on Jamie.

There's a lot behind us still.

- Come on.

- Oh, my God, babe. I am so happy right now.

- Who has nerves of steel?

- I'll do it.

- Did you read this? - Okay, do it.

- Way to go.

[contestants clapping]

- Take a train to Interlaken.

- Interlaken. - Let's go.

- So we need to go to where?

- [Michael] To the train.

- Good luck.

- Give me a second. - Okay?

[dramatic music]

- Clue box.

Who has nerves of steel?

- Me. I do. - You.

- Holy crap.

To bungee jump feet, this is insane.

[dramatic music]

- Turn around.

- Yeah, he'%s very nervous,

but he's more excited about doing it.

- I'm scared.

[laughing]

[contestants cheering]

- [Margie] Oh, my God.

Oh, my God.

[dramatic music]

- That was so cool. I loved it.

- Train station.

- Choo, choo.

- That's my son.

He's gonna b*at me to old age.

- Geronimo.

[contestants cheering]

- Whoa. Oh, my God, oh, my God.

[dramatic music]

- I cannot believe I'm about to do that.

- Right over here.

- It's a road block.

- Oh, my gosh.

- Who has nerves of steel?

- That's me. - That would be you.

- I do.

- Okay. All right.

- Come on let's go. Let's go. - Go.

- You wanna think about it first.

You know those things, they'll bounce back

and break your neck, don't you?

But we gonna% get there first.

We gotta pick up the pace, sweetie.

We're last again.

[contestants cheering]

- Woo!

[laughing]

Look how far she bounces up.

- You have every right to be jealous.

[Brad laughing]

- Wow.

[laughing]

[dramatic music]

- Tears of joy, right?

- Yeah.

- Tears of joy.

- [Assistant] Okay, next jumper.

[dramatic music]

- It's like a rollercoaster.

[dramatic music]

- Oh, my God.

- [Assistant] Arms up. Lift up your arms.

[dramatic music]

I hope you're a bit nervous.

- Yes, I'm a lot nervous.

[dramatic music]

[dramatic music]

- Oh, my God.

Whenever I want?

- Yes, whenever you want.

[dramatic music]

- [Christie] All right.

[dramatic music]

- Holy cow. I can't believe I just did that.

Thank God that's over.

Now bring me up.

- [Christie] You did it.

I'm so proud of you.

- Thank you.

Take a train to Interlaken.

We need to make up some time here.

- Thank you, thank you.

All right, let's go.

- Do you speak English?

- Yes, a little.

- Which train to Interlaken?

- Interlaken? Five minutes.

- Take a train to Interlaken.

- I will change in the train in Interlaken.

- [Michael] Thank you.

- Okay. I'll pay, you get the backpack.

Graci.

- I just wanna get the train

that all the other teams ahead of us are on.

- [Mike] Thank you very much.

- [Tammy] Oh, crap, there're all here.

- Mike and Mark.

- Should we wave?

Hi, guys.

- [Tammy] They have three minutes.

Don't say anything to them.

- They're gonna get on it anyway.

Why make enemies at this point?

- We don't need to. - Okay.

- Let's go say hi to Tammy and Vic.

- No, let's act like we don't know for sure.

We'll say we asked somebody

and they said we should get on this train.

- What's up, guys?

- Hey, guys.

- Hi. - Hi.

- Guys, so this is the story.

Some lady told us that we should take this train

to Interlaken, so we're just gonna risk it

'cause it's right here, right now.

- This one.

- What time does this one get in?

- Okay, I don't know.

- [Mark] Yeah, this is it right here.

- This is it?

- [Victor] Well, we're gonna gamble it.

So, we're just gonna risk it.

Yeah.

- Watch those guys. They're first and they get off here.

Watch them.

- [Tammy] You guys might get off too.

- We're watching you.

It's not that we don't trust you.

It's just that we don't trust you.

[dramatic music]

- Ready?

- Arrrrgh.

- Oh, my God.

- Wooooo.

- Oooh.

[dramatic music]

Really cool.

It was awesome.

- Take a train to Interlaken. So let's go.

[dramatic music]

- It looks like there may be two ways.

One way would be to go up into Lucerne.

The other way looks like would be to go through Italy.

It looks like this says Agencia.

- Thank you.

- Okay, look. There's Brad and Victoria.

I'm gonna ask the lady.

- Okay.

- Hi, we need to go to Interlaken.

- You can go through Lucerne or Italy.

- When does that one leave? Lucerne.

- :.

- That leaves in a minute.

We're doing this one.

Thank you. We have tickets, yeah.

- [Christie] Can we catch that right out here?

At :.

- Depart at :.

- :.

- We're getting on the one that leaves later?

- We get on the one that arrives earlier.

- Let's just act like we're gonna miss it.

- All right, let's go.

- Come on, Christie.

- Okay, I think we just broke free.

- We're ditching them.

- And here we are and the train's going.

We're on our way.

But we're happy.

- We got a plan.

[dramatic music]

- Go, go, go, go.

Go, go, go.

- This way.

- We're gonna go this way.

- [Mike] Kleine Rugen Wiese.

- Right here, Mike. Here.

[dramatic music]

- Oh, my gosh.

- Go Mike. Michael.

- Join the local work force.

- [Phil] Teams must now choose a pair of these

traditional antique cheese racks

and climb to the top of this hill.

Once at the top, teams will transport

pounds of cheese from this aging shed

to the bottom of the hill.

When teams have stacked all pounds of cheese,

they'll receive there next clue.

- Oh, Michael, see this is a pack.

- This one.

This one.

- Go, go, go.

- There's the shed. Okay, let's go.

Let's get the cheese.

Oh, geez.

- [Mike] Holy crap. This is insane.

- We can b*at 'em. Come on.

- Sorry, oh, I'm so sorry.

- Come on.

- Wait.

- We have to tow pounds of cheese down the hill

from up there.

- Let's go.

- [Tammy] Victor you gotta wait for me.

- Okay, come on.

- All right, let's go.

- Ready?

- Go, go, go.

- We had to walk up this hill

and it was so slippery.

And it was terrifying.

And a lot of mud.

Animal poop.

[laughing]

- I had this groin muscle, you know,

pulling, pulling, pulling.

Every time my legs would go apart,

that groin muscle would just ache.

Argh.

- It's exhausting, isn't it?

- I can take two.

- Well, I can only do one.

- Two.

- I can't do two, so you're gonna have to come back up.

- Okay, let's do two.

- Well, at least you try.

- Yeah. - And just go slow.

- Come on, Mike.

[dramatic music]

- My cheese thing broke.

- Oh, God, it's heavy.

- He hasn't even put a second one on.

- No. - Has he?

- You're not gonna be able to do two.

- You don't think I can?

- No. Cannot.

- Can a pound guy carry pounds of cheese?

- Oh. Just one.

- Huh?

- Just one. - Only one.

- Do you think you can even carry one thing of cheese?

- I'm gonna try.

- Okay.

[dramatic music]

- Okay, we're gonna have to come back up.

Yo got it?

- Yeah.

- Don't loose balance, okay?

- Okay.

[dramatic music]

- Oooooh.

[dramatic music]

- Mom, let's go.

- I can't. It's broken.

[dramatic music]

Piece of crap.

- We're okay.

- Arrgh.

- Your thing broke but the cheese is still in.

- I don't know how to do it. - It's still in.

- Steady foot.

[festive music]

- Undo. Let's take it one at a time.

- [Tammy] And let's keep going?

- Yeah, and we'll come back for that one.

- [Tammy] Awesome.

- Ohhhh.

[backpack crashing]

[onlookers laughing] - [Victor] Oh, he just ate it.

[onlookers laughing]

- [Margie] We have to get the cheese.

[festive music]

- Dad.

- Yeah.

- How you doing?

[festive music]

- I'm doing okay, Mike.

[festive music]

- Ah, I can't get up.

sh**t. - Yes you can. You're good.

- I can't.

[backpack breaking]

[onlookers laughing]

- Lean forward. Oh, crap.

Hey, go. Uh oh.

- Don't let a cheese hit me.

- [Victor] You can go down and get it.

- [Tammy] Sorry.

- I am not upset with you. You're doing great.

Just don't second guess yourself.

[dramatic music]

- So we just searched the entire train.

No other teams are on here.

- Brad and Victoria told us they were getting on here, so.

- [Jodi] Pretty much lied right to our face.

- Yeah.

[dramatic music]

- We have to find our cheese.

- I know.

- Oh, they're over there.

Pick it up.

We have to go stack it.

That's one.

I see mine. It's over there.

- I got your cheese.

- All right, Mark.

- Steady foot, steady foot.

- Come on, come on.

Go, go, go, go.

- Let's go.

[onlookers laughing]

- Yeah, it's so funny. Keep laughing.

- No tool. I'm carrying it down.

Mine broke. I can carry it.

- Slow and steady wins the race.

- You're gonna need to carry one on the way down.

- I got it.

- And even if you have to slide on your butt,

like he does.

- I can do that.

- I do not want you to give up.

- Dad. What's going on?

- I'm sliding down.

I'll never eat cheese again.

- [Mike] Okay, let's go get your other one.

- [Michael] This way, Mike.

- This is the only way I could lift the dumb thing.

- Come on T you can do this. You're almost there.

- I'm already tired.

- You're fine.

Think about the hour-and-a-half yoga classes you do.

- Breathe. Lift.

Come on, come on.

- We're close.

Come on T, you can do this.

Let's go, Tammy.

- Ready? Follow me.

- I'm waiting for my dad to come back up here.

- Don't drop this cheese.

Don't drop this cheese.

[dramatic music]

[bells rattling]

- Take you taxi to the pit stop.

- [Phil] Teams must now race to the last postal bus stop

in the town of Stechelberg.

Once there, they'll have to listen for a group of yodelers,

who will lead them to the pit stop.

The last team to check in here will be eliminated.

- Warning, the last team to check in will be eliminated.

Go, go, go, go.

[bells rattling]

- Michael, help.

- How you doing?

- I'm okay.

- Done.

Clue.

- Oh, there they are.

- There you go.

- Okay.

- Come on, Mark.

[bells rattling]

- All right.

- Good talking to you.

- Thank you. Take your taxi to the pit stop.

- Let's go. - Okay, let's go.

- Good job. But go fast.

Yay, we were the first ones down.

- Nice.

- I know.

[both clapping]

- Come on, Tammy.

We need to go to Stoberg, Switzerland.

- Yep.

- Can you go as fast as possible?

They're right on our heels.

- Boy, was that fun.

- Still weighed half as much as I did,

those freaking cheeses.

- Take your time. It's all right.

- Here comes another team.

- They're all coming.

- Pass him, Cara. Pass him.

Right here, right here, right here.

- Join the local work force. Working together.

- Transport pounds of cheese.

- Choose one of the traditional wooden cheese carriers.

- Join the local work force.

Working together, transport pounds of cheese.

- A traditional toll has been provided for you to use.

- Don't drag those. They break easy.

- Don't drag it. Thank you.

Good job, guys.

- Cheese loader by the shed will help you load the cheese

on a carrier.

- Take a taxi to the pit stop.

- That was something.

- Linda this is it.

They could have.

- I'm see the cheese shed. I'm trying to come.

- Going to the top of the hill.

- Trying to get up a muddy hill.

- A few more steps. Let's go, baby.

- Come on, babe. We gotta hurry.

- I'm trying.

- Trek it, trek it.

- Linda, we're gonna be eliminated. We got to do this.

- I'm trying to.

I don't wanna get hurt.

- It's so steep.

- Baby, I understand that.

- This is a freaking brew.

- I'm coming.

- Baby. I just fell.

- Jen you have to come on.

You have to.

- This is it, Linda. We can't stop.

- I'm trying.

- You can't have no in your heart.

- Honey, I don't.

- Argh.

Come on, baby.

[dramatic music]

- Linda.

[dramatic music]

- Linda. We're gonna be eliminated.

We got to do this. - I'm trying to. I'm coming.

- The walk up here was a pain in the butt.

- That was a strenuous climb.

That was very hard.

- We only have to be faster than one other person.

- Right. Exactly.

- Oh, my God.

This is my body weight, Kris.

- Hey, stay strong, Amanda.

- Just take it down slow.

- Okay, can I hold your hand?

- Yep.

- Sideways, put your foot sideways.

Dig in.

- Just walk really slow down.

- Okay, I'm smaller than everyone.

- Get going, Linda.

- Oh, wait, that says Interlaken over there.

- All right, thank you.

- Bye bye. - Bye bye.

- Come on, take it off. - We're wasting time with you.

- Okay, honey. Okay.

I'm sorry, honey. I'm sorry.

- Bring a total of pounds of cheese.

- Yeah.

- Down the hill.

We have to start up there.

They're all still here.

- The blondes are here.

- Hey, girls.

- There's a lot of teams here.

We have to catch up.

- I think we can get all pounds on here.

- We can.

'Cause you gotta think

that's the only way we're gonna b*at them.

We didn't get here by being idiots.

[dramatic music]

[yodelers yodeling]

- The last bus stop is here.

- Okay. - Yes.

- Can you hear them.

- I can hear them but it's an echo.

- I hear them over there.

- I think we have to go over the bridge.

Let's go this way and go over the bridge.

- Where? - Okay, let's go this way.

[yodelers yodeling]

- We're getting closer.

- Margie and Luke.

[no audio]

You are team number one.

[Margie and Luke celebrating]

[dramatic music]

- Tammy and Vic, come in here.

Now I have some good news for you.

As the winners of this leg of the race,

you have won a trip for two from Travelocity

and you guys are going to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

- Mexico.

- You'll spend seven nights in an ocean-front room

at the Western Resort and Spa,

where you'll take a sunset sail, swim with dolphins,

and zipline through the jungles of the Sierra Madre.

Congratulations.

- Thank you, Phil.

- Tammy and Victor, you are team number two.

Congratulations.

- Yay. - Good job. You did so well.

- [Tammy] I'm very happy.

- Mark and Michael. You are team number three.

Congratulations.

[contestants celebrating]

- Oh, yeah.

- Oh, yeah. - All right.

- Luke, why was it so important

for you to be on the Race?

- A lot of people think deaf people can't do things.

But deaf can do it.

They can do exactly what hearing people can do,

but not talk.

So I just wanna show people that deaf people can do it.

[dramatic music]

- I love you for doing this, baby.

Good God. I'm so sorry.

- Just be quiet right now.

- Just go slow, honey.

- I am going slow.

[backpack breaking]

- It's okay.

- Oh, oh, oh.

- That's okay, that's okay.

- Are you okay, sweetie?

- I can still go.

- Linda's gonna take one. I'mma take three.

- Come on. Come on.

- There's a lot of teams here.

We have to catch up.

- Get going, Linda.

- Okay. - Right behind you.

[dramatic music]

- Look at that, Christie.

- We can do what he's doing.

Put it on there. Get each, okay?

- Be careful. There's a.

- Damn it.

This is so freaking hard.

- We'll show 'em how you do it.

Okay, Linda.

- Yeah, I'm good.

- Oh, God, Kris.

Babe, good job. Good freaking job.

[backpack breaking]

[onlookers laughing] - You can't get angry, honey.

This is so muddy and slippery.

- Okay, it's reverse.

- All good.

- All right.

[dramatic music]

- You okay?

- Yeah, I'm fine.

Doing great.

- Babe, there's some kind of poopy right there.

- Good job, baby. Come on.

- Don't stop. Keep going.

- All right, let's go.

- Oh, thank you.

To get to the pit stop.

That was by far the hardest thing I have ever done

in my life.

- Jennifer.

- I'm coming, honey.

This is so hard. I can't talk right now.

- We still got 'em licked.

- Okay.

- You outta smile because you outsmarted every one of them.

- You did.

- Ah, you did too.

Ready?

- Yeah, let's rock.

Take a taxi to the pit stop.

- Let's go.

I think we did exceptionally well.

[yodelers yodeling]

- Mel and Mike, you are team number four. Congratulations.

- Thank you. - Good job, dad.

- Get it, get it, get it, get it, get it, get it.

Get it, baby.

Damn it.

Holy crap.

You gotta get that one. Damn it.

- I have to go get it? I don't like cheese at all.

In fact, I may not eat cheese ever again.

- Good job.

- Take your taxi to the next pit stop.

- Good job.

- Connect. Several teams behind us.

We're doing good.

- I know.

- All right, we gotta go quicker.

- Careful. - Jodi.

- I'm missing a piece of cheese.

- Oh, it's back there.

- Damn it.

- You gotta go get it.

We're not going this far to lose.

We gotta hurry.

- Put it on.

- Take your taxi to the pit stop.

- Come on Kisha. One more.

- Take your taxi to the pit stop.

- All right, let's go.

[yodelers yodeling]

- Amanda and Kris.

- Yes.

- You are team number five. Congratulations.

- Come on. There's your cheese.

- Are you freaking kidding me?

- You're so strong and so good for me.

- Keep going, keep going.

No matter what. You don't quit.

- Yeah. Come on.

- Take your taxi to the pit stop.

- Come on, baby.

- I'm coming.

[dramatic music]

- Uh, oh. Take your taxi to the pit stop.

We're in last place.

- Thank you.

Listen for yodelers.

Foot prints, lots of them.

Maybe we can cross here.

- No, it's a river.

I think we gotta go around that way

or around that way.

Let's go this way.

We're not gonna find it just standing here.

- You okay? - Yep. Come on.

- It's gotta be up here.

- Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Up here. It's getting louder.

We're good. We're good, hon.

[yodelers yodeling]

- Brad and Victoria.

You are team number six.

- Six.

- Good, good, good, good, good.

- How'd you get along with the cheese?

- I think we were the only ones that did it right.

- I think we were the only team that walked upright.

- Is that right?

Turn around and let's see if you got any marks.

- No marks.

- [Phil] Wow.

[Victoria laughing]

- I think down here. I think it's down here.

- Follow the road.

- Hi, Phil.

- Jamie and Cara.

- Yes.

- You are team number seven.

- What?

[Jaime and Cara celebrating]

- Look. It looks like a dead end.

It's a dead end, Linda.

- Gah, we're such dumb asses.

[yodelers yodeling]

- Man, am I glad to see you.

[Kisha laughing]

- Kisha and Jen. You're team number eight.

- All right.

- That's all right, though.

- Linda.

- This way.

[festive music]

- Come on, let's go.

[both laughing]

- I love the eyebrow.

You got the eyebrow.

- Steve and Linda. You're team number nine.

- Yes. - Woo.

- You are still in the race. You are team comeback.

- Awesome.

Awesome.

- Okay, look. To your left, to your right.

Really hard. This is stressful.

- What is this up here on the right?

- I'm running like hell. I don't care.

[dramatic music]

- Fast as possible.

- We're in last place. We have to pass somebody.

- Thank you. Come on, come on.

We can still b*at the blondes.

- This way.

Over there.

- Babe, we gotta go this way.

- There they are.

- There they are.

They're going back.

- Come on.

- Go back.

Oh, hurry, hurry. Fast, fast.

- Fast, fast. - Come on Christie.

- Come on.

[yodelers yodeling]

[dramatic music]

- Christie and Jodi.

You are team number .

[Christie and Jodi celebrating]

- You guys did all right. - Y'all did.

- You did awesome.

- Preston and Jennifer.

You're the last team to arrive.

[dramatic music]

I'm sorry to tell you,

you have been eliminated from the race.

- Yeah, we were afraid of that.

Preston, you a competitive guy?

- I'm pretty competitive.

- He's super competitive, so I'm upset

because I feel like I let him down.

- [Jodi] No.

- Why do you feel like you let him down?

- He is my best friend and in the end

I just feel like I didn't give him my all

and we're standing here being eliminated

on The Amazing Race.

- Nah, she didn't let me down.

I know she did as much as she could.

It was frustrating at times,

I hated it here at times.

- Even though we fight and we bicker,

we love each other.

So we actually came into the race and we were like

it's gonna make or break our relationship.

So I think it's actually gonna get more towards the make.

I do wanna spend the rest of my life with Preston.

[dramatic music]

- [Phil] Stay tuned for scenes from our next episode.

Next week on The Amazing Race.

When teams travel to Germany, Linda gets lost in the Alps.

- Where in the hell did I run to?

Damn, I wish I wouldn't have walked out

of that stupid mountain.

[dramatic music]

- [Phil] And Margie and Luke get creamed.

[festive music]

[upbeat music]
