♪ Barney's friends are big and small ♪

♪ They come from lots of places ♪

♪ After school they meet to play ♪

♪ And sing with happy faces

♪ Barney shows us lots of things ♪

♪ Like how to play pretend

♪ ABC's and 's

♪ And how to be a friend

♪ Barney comes to play with us

♪ Whenever we may need him

♪ Barney can be your friend too ♪

♪ If you just make believe him

- Here's another red footprint to show people where to walk.

(car honking)

- Bye mom.

(playful music)

- Footprints, I wonder where they go.

Hmmm.

A blue footprint, blue, blue,

red, red, red.

Oh, hi Sarah.

- Hello, Mario.

- Say, why are you putting footprints down on the ground?

- To lead the way into the caboose.

- Oh, I get it.

These footprints will show everyone

how to get to our color collection.

- That's right.

And this is the last footprint, yellow.

- How many footprints did you put down?

- I'm not sure, wanna count them?

- Okay.

(upbeat music)

♪ The sun is shining in a beautiful way ♪

♪ I look down and what do I see ♪

♪ Three blue footprints in front of me. ♪

♪ But something else just caught my eye ♪

Footprints?

- They show the way to the caboose color collection.

- Oh, a collection means

there will be lots of different things.

- Right, just wait till you see.

- Oh, I can't wait!

It's gonna be great!

(Barney humming)

Oh boy! (chuckles)

This is great!

- Hi Barney, hi guys.

- Hello Tony.

Gee, I just love what you've done with this place.

- It's not just me.

We all brought in things for the color collection.

- Oh, so I see.

You've got lots of red things

and lots of blue things

and a, well, two very nice little yellow things.

- We still need a lot more things for our yellow collection.

- I see.

- But first, why don't you look

at all the red things we have.

- Oh, I guess I will.

Oh yes, these things are very red.

- Here's a red hat

and a red fire engine

(imitates fire engine sound)


- [Barney] Wow!

- and some nice red strawberries.

- Oh yummy, oh boy.

Oh, those apples are dark red.

And this watering can is light red.

- But they're both red, right?

- They sure are, Tony.

Dark red and light red are different shades of red.

- And don't forget this.

- I've never heard of a red pig.

- This is a special flying pig.

And I decided my flying pig is red.

(upbeat music)

- Oh, there he goes.

♪ The men in white said what a sight ♪

- Oh, it is a sight.

- [Barney] Oh, look at it go.

- [Barney] Oh my!

♪ The girl in yellow said marvelous fellow ♪

- A marvelous pig.

♪ The man in brown soon brought him down ♪

- Ooh!

- Here you go Mr. Pig.

You can rest your wings

with all of the other pretty red things.

- Would you like to see our blue collection now?

- Oh, I certainly would.

Oh look, here's a beautiful blue butterfly.

Oh, and lots of blue flowers.

Oh, and a picture of a big blue ball.

Wow.

- These jeans are dark blue

and this hat is light blue

- Dark blue, light blue.

Oh, you're right.

Those are different shades of blue.

Let's see what other fun blue things you have.

Let me look here and..

wait a minute.

I see something that isn't blue.

- I know, but it goes with the poem about little boy blue.

- Oh.

- Little boy blue, come blow your horn

The sheeps in the meadow, the cows in the corn

Where's the boy who looks after the sheep

He's under the haystack

fast asleep.

(group applauding)

- I always enjoy a nice poem.

- That's good because I brought something else

for our yellow collection.

- Okay.

- It's a book with a poem about a yellow bird.

- Oh wow!

- Wow!

(bird tweeting)

- It looks so pretty (chuckles)

I can't wait to hear it.

♪ Mary had a little bird

♪ Feathers bright and yellow.

♪ The sweetest voice you ever heard ♪

♪ He was a pretty fellow

♪ And any place his cage was hung ♪

♪ This wonderful canary

♪ A happy song was always sung

♪ Which so delighted Mary

- Here comes a great big canary with cute yellow wings.

- That's me.

- Oh boy!

next to the picture of the canary.

- Too bad we don't have a real canary

to put in the collection.

- That's true.

- What was that?

- Could it be a real live canary?

- I'm not a canary.

- Oh.

- I'm Baby Bop.

- [All] Hi!

- You sounded like one.

- Oh thank you (giggles).

Ooh, look at all the pretty colors.

- It's our caboose color collection.

- With lots and lots of different things

that are red, blue and yellow.

Would you like to see them?

- Oh yes, please.

I like colors.

- So do I.

I think they make the whole world

look like a very happy place.

- Uh huh.

How wonderful to see you all.

- What are you painting today?

- Well, Sarah, I'm working on something pretty

I've seen here in the park.

- Oh, I can't wait to see it.

- Look at all the colors you had to paint with.

- Oh, yellow is my favorite color.

It's the color of my blankey.

- So it is.

- And which color do you like best?

Red, blue, or yellow.

- [All] Red.

(child giggling)

- I have a red nose.

- Our favorite color is blue.

- I can draw a blue sky.

This baby has got blue eyes.

- I have blue hands.

- [All] We like yellow.

- Yellow!

- Hello!

I'm making a sun yellow.


- My school bus is yellow.

- We've made a color collection, Miss Jo.

The caboose color collection.

- What a lovely idea.

- [Barney] Oh boy!

- But it's not finished yet.

We need more things that are yellow.

- You do?

- Yeah, definitely.

- Well, there are so many colorful things here in the park.

Maybe we can find something.

- For instance, lots of flowers are yellow.

[All] Yes!

- Oh, can I look for a yellow flower?

- We all can.

And it'll be lots of fun.

- Hey look, here's a yellow flower.

- Oh, it's very yellow.

- It is.

- But it looks so pretty growing there.

I don't think we should pick it.

- Oh yeah, you're probably right about that.

- So what could we pick--

- It would have been perfect.

- So we can't put a yellow flower in our collection.

- I wouldn't be too sure about that.

- Oh, it is pretty.

- It's a painting of a yellow flower.

- And it's all yours.

- Well, I think the yellow collection

is looking much better.

- Hey look, Sarah's making flowers.

- Oh good!

More yellow things, oh boy.

- I'm making them out of crepe paper like this.

- Oh, okay.

- First you take a square piece of paper,

then you fold it in half to match the corners.

Then you do it again.

Looks like a smaller pyramid.

And unfold it,

and match this top corner to the bottom corner.

- Wow!

- Cool.

- And do the same on the other side.

- You're very good at this.

- Looks like a miniature box.

- On the line, you fold it.

- Wow!

(children murmuring in excitement)

- And draw half a circle.

- Wow, looks like a hill.

- [Barney] Be careful.

- And then you cut on the half circle.

- It looks like an ice cream cone.

- [Barney] Oh, I love ice cream.

- And unfold it.

- Wow!


- That looks great.

- Then you've made the different layers of the flowers.

Then you take three more layers

and twist the bottom.

- [Barney] Oh I see.

- Until you have a flower.

(children exclaiming)

- Wow!

- Pretty.

- That's all there is to it.

- Looks very pretty.

- Those will look great in your collection.

- But you could still use something else that's yellow.

- That's true.

- Oh, I, I know, I know.

- Oh, do you have an idea, Baby Bop?

- Uh huh, you can use my blankey.

- Really?

- Yes, but be careful with it.

It's very special.

- Do you want to give it a try?

- Yes, I let my blankey do the all fall down part.

- Well, let's see if this blankey

(children agreeing)

- Come on new blankey.

(gentle music)
