And the people in a band

play all kinds of different instruments.

My big brother's in a band.

He plays the drums.

They keep the b*at for everyone.

They can make a loud boom-boom

or maybe a quick rat-a-tat-tat.

Yeah, I want to play the drums.

I like the sound of a horn.

I like making music,

but I don't know what instrument I want to play in the band.

You don't have to decide t.

And there are lots of fun ways to do it.

You can sing or play a horn.

Making music is something everyone can try.

My brother practices marching

with his band at school.

We should practice, too.

A marching band usually marches in a line,

Maybe you can find some things in the caboose

that you could use to make the instruments.

that you can play to make music.

It's a little like pushing buttons.

It has strings and a bow.

You pull the bow across the strings

to make it sound like this.

We'd like to hear what kind of sound it makes.

but you don't play it with a bow.

I painted it blue and red, and I use this stick to play it.

This is my horn.

I covered a funnel with gold foil.

Oh, what a good idea, Kami.

A horn is a brass instrument,

and yours is just the right color.

( Imitates Horn )

And I see you've been practicing.

( All Laughing )

Here's my flute.

I painted it silver so it really looks like one.

It certainly does.

Will you play it for me?

Sure.

I hold it out to the side and blow into it like this.

Those are all great instruments.

It's going to be so much fun to hear you play them

in our marching band.
