NARRATOR: Previously on "The Amazing Race,"

in the picturesque city of Prague,

Cody and Jessica set their sights on the U-turn.

We're going to U-turn the violinist.

NARRATOR: Forcing team Well-Strung to play catch-up.

We're gonna have to hustle.

NARRATOR: After lectures--

At the end, you will be administered a test.

NARRATOR: And libations--

Oh, we have beer.

We have beer.

NARRATOR: Teams faced a roadblock from the past.

Evan and Daniel relied on each other.

Do you want to possibly work together?

NARRATOR: While Jessica played her own game.

Do I trust her?

Hell, no.

NARRATOR: Kristy and Jen grabbed another goal.

Woo!

NARRATOR: Trevor and Chris never recovered and were sent home.

You have been eliminated from the race.

NARRATOR: Six teams remain.

Who will be eliminated next?

On the next leg, be ready for anything.

[exciting music playing]

Leg seven.

Where are we going in this wonderful world without info?

Fly to--

Harare?

Zimbabwe.

NARRATOR: Teams will now fly almost , miles

across the African continent to Zimbabwe,

a land of adventure, magnificent wildlife,

and natural wonders like Victoria Falls.

When they land, they'll take a diesel train from the capital

city of Harare to the small town of Marondera, home to the Imire

Rhino and Wildlife Conservancy, where conservationists are

focused on finding a revenue-based alternative

to the widespread poaching that threatens Africa's wildlife.

Yay, we get to play with animals.

We are going to Zimbabwe.

We are leaving today in first place.

Oh, my god, I'm freaking pumped.

Oh, yeah.

But we're halfway through the race.

Now there's less and less room for error.

But we're ready for anything that "The Amazing

Race" can throw at us.

MAN: We got to pick up a few tickets.

WOMAN: Yes.

Oh, thank you.

I miss them.

Being away from our family has been the toughest part.

I mean, you think about them all the time.

But we have less days in front of us,

and we got less teams now.

Yeah, not too much more.

Just focus on the thing, and we'll be there.

But our strategy is really not going to change,

because no matter if there's teams or two teams left,

you still have to get to where you're going.

And you've got to get there without a lot of mistakes.

All right, here we go.

Really appreciate it.

Thank you so much.

Let's hit the gas.

This is now a no-mistake territory because all of us

are extremely competitive teams.

WOMAN: It's funny when it comes to trust and racing.

You got to know when not to trust other teams.

Because they're going to do whatever

they can to continue racing.

WOMAN: In our last leg, Jessica gave me wrong information.

But I guess all's fair in love and w*r.

[exciting music]

Long journey.

Big Brother also chose to U-turn the musicians.

So they know how to play this game.

So that's definitely something that we're

going to keep an eye on.

Going to Zimbabwe, man.

Yeah, let's do it.

I think using the U-turn has been the best

decision we've made so far.

It was a do or die for us.

So I think that's what kept us in this race.

And now we're going to Zimbabwe.

Yay!

[exciting music]

[singers vocalizing ]

[upbeat music playing]

Go, go, go, go.

Airport taxi's over here on the left.

Let's go.

Thank you.

We're in Zimbabwe.

We're with pretty much every other team,

so everyone is in the taxi now to the train station.

There's just a lot of pressure.

Yale's a pretty strong team.

I'd love to see Yale go this way.

Because we know we can b*at Ocean Spray and the Twins.

That's the train station?

WOMAN: I can't believe we're actually doing this.

[exciting music]

X-Games and Indy Car are basically

the two teams that we've been working with the whole time.

Jen and Kristi are true competitors.

They're just spot-on in pretty much everything they do.

They're well-rounded.

WOMAN: They're the team to b*at.

Our main relationship still remains with Kristy and Jen.

They know how to play a game.

You've got to make the right moves at the right time.

You know, they've been really cool.

But I'm sure, you know, we're all

going to be racing for the win.

That's what we have to be focused on.

Going to the Imire Rhino and Wildlife Conservation.

[exciting music]

We've been traveling for hours, three airplanes,

a taxi to the train station, a train to here,

and now we're in a van.

MAN: Caution-- wildlife area.

Oh, my god.

We're going on a Safari.

All right, let's go.

WOMAN: I'm really excited.

[spirited music]

We have just entered the rhino wildlife area.

MAN: Hey, look.

Whoa!

MAN: Oh, my god.

MAN: Baboons.

[exciting music]

Bush Camp.

We are going to Bush Camp.

[elephant trumpeting]

Come on, come on, come on. WOMAN: Let's go.

MAN: Come on, there.

Come on.

Come on, Jack.

You're doing great.

Come on.

Hello. Hello.

Let's go.

NARRATOR: Here at the Imire Rhino and Wildlife Conservancy,

visitors are allowed to camp out right next to the animals--

an opportunity that teams now have.

But first, they have to build their own tent.

And the order in which they finish their tent

will have a huge impact on the remainder of this leg.

All right, I got this.

OK.

- Let's do the closest one. - All right.

There we go.

Want to sit facing the lantern?

Yeah.

All right, come on, man.

Let's pitch a tent.

[exciting music]

- Clue, clue, clue. - Woo!

Let's go. Come on.

Come on. - Over here.

Perfect. Look.

Look, right here, right here. MAN: Good job.

Babe.

All right, what do you want me to do?

Stake in all four corners.

I love camping.

I love setting up tents.

I have zero experience doing this.

Like, I have zero to contribute here.

This looks like a pile of mess.

Never done any camping in my life, ever.

Do you have a sense for where the poles go?

Not really.

Neither of us are experienced campers.

Henry, come on.

Let's go look at the example.

So we just tried to go about it logically.

They must be here.

I think across the top, like that.

Across the top? Yeah, that makes sense.

WOMAN: I camp a lot with my husband.

This tent, however, is a little different.

This is something we're pretty comfortable with.

If you can hold that up, then I can get in--

OK.

And put this where it goes.

Just want to make sure the details are right.

This is the big thing here.

Now being halfway through it, half the teams

are already gone.

You can feel the pressure mounting.

Come here, Kristy.

- Not while I hold it. - We're almost there, Eric.

You're starting to feel the tension within the groups.

You can tell everybody is kind of drawing into themselves now.

- Where's the hammer? - It's here.

I need it.

OK.

Let's keep going fast, Daniel.

I think we've got this.

Come on.

We have the frame of the tent up,

so now we're just trying to stake it into the ground.

What do you want me to do?

Push the tent off me.

Yeah.

I am a human support zone.

Now we're talking.

We're getting close.

Just tying it off.

Thank God for your Marine superhuman strength.

WOMAN: This is my big contribution to this build.

- Ready to get ours inspected? - Yeah.

MAN: Check it.

[suspenseful music playing]

You did so good.

Baby, we won.

You're a rock star.

Thank god for you.

Cody really busted it out on this very first competition.

We have high expectations for ourselves.

So to be in sixth, we didn't like it.

To be in first, we expect that.

Check out the house you built us.

[smacking sound]

Let's get it done.

MAN: Yeah, let's go.

WOMAN: We are so close.

Damn, come on.

They could be finishing.

That window-- roll it up.

Gamekeeper?

Ah!

Thank you.

Appreciate it.

The tent building, we came in second place.

Lucas got it done because he's a hashtag badass.

Good job, babe.

We do well in challenges.

It's getting there.

Just like the marriage.

Took us nine years, but we're getting there.

I love you, baby.

WOMAN: Good job, Kristy. We're almost there.

There you go. Hurry up.

Hurry up, Dave.

Check.

Thank you so much. Number .

MAN: OK.

Oh, great.

MAN: Yale b*at us out.

We're, like, a real bad position.

Check, please.

You got to pull the window net up.

Check.

Yay!

Thank you so much.

My pleasure.

All right, number --

I'm not stoked on four.

All right, thank you, sir.

- Check. - Awesome.

Thank you so much.

MAN: Yes, six

Number .

We are in last.

We couldn't put a tent together very well.

We don't know what's coming up.

We could be terrible at it.

We could be OK at it, but we don't know.

MAN: We just have to do better.

[spirited music playing]

Perfect.

Thank you.

WOMAN: Now we go to sleep.

It looks like we're all going to be

camping for the first time together,

so that's pretty cool.

It is pretty special.

Oh, we're going to be comfy.

Oh, yeah.

[pot clanging]

Time to get up, everybody. Let's go.

Let's go.

Let's go.

Let's go. Let's go.

Let's go.

Get up.

Sun's coming up quick.

[exciting music]

All right, guys, at the beginning of the race,

I did warn you that there would be a few twists this season,

and I'm about to tell you one of them right now.

Are you ready? - Yeah.

Absolutely.

Let's go.

It's called Partner Swap.

No.

MAN: It is as simple as it sounds.

Oh.

Oh.

OK, guys, I did warn you that there would be a few surprises.

You are going to be swapping partners.

And you will be racing together as these new teams

until further notice.

Oh, my god.

You'll need to race hard because the order

you finish this leg could have a big effect on your game.

And now, Cody and Jessica, because you

were to first to complete building your tent,

you get the first pick.

X-Games.

Thank you.

--guys.

Reason for choosing Team Extreme?

They seem to be the best so far.

And I just love them, period.

You guys.

WOMAN: You guys.

MAN: Thankfully, we got X-Games.

Jen and Kristi are clearly the strongest

team in "Amazing Race."

How are you going to form up here?

You take Kristi, and I'll take Jen.

OK.

Cody's got it figured out.

Lucas and Britney, you were the second to build your tent,

correct? - Yes.

So that would give you the second pick.

- We're going to go with Indy. - Is that us?

And how are you going to line up?

I'll take Alex, and you, Connor?

OK.

Let's go team.

Let's go.

Why did you choose these two?

Because we are a boy/girl team.

And it's good to get a little bit

muscle on the back end of it.

What?

I have no muscle?

No, I mean, on my side.

Obviously, you're my first choice.

Henry and Evan, I have a feeling

you sort of have one choice.

Me and Eric, you and Daniel?

All right, everybody, are you ready to race?

Yeah.

When I say go, run over to the guide, grab your first clue,

and start racing.

Yes.

Zimbabwe is waiting for you guys.

Go. - Let's go.

Go. Come on.

Hurry up. Hurry up.

Let's hustle.

Route info--

"Row, row, row, your makeshift bush raft."

Search the islands of Imire Lake

to find two canteens of water and your next clue.

NARRATOR: Our newly formed teams must now work together

to use one of these makeshift rafts

here on a Imire Lake and search among these small islands

for a pair of canteens containing their next clue.

Britney's going to be good at this.

But you're good, too, right?

I was like, I want to have the right team.

OK, let's go.

Let's hustle.

We'll be strong rowers.

It's "Amazing--

Race."

- Oh. - Woo!

Cold.

Yeah, it is.

- Just drag it, OK? - Yup.

Let's go. Let's go.

Grab one side. Grab the other in the middle.

How long is this swap?

I really don't know.

We have no idea what's next.

But I'm glad that they picked us.

It forced us to work together immediately.

It was just like, get in a boat, lock

in, and just go right to work.

Boom, that's our island. Let's go.

Let's do this.

This morning, Phil told us that there was a partner swap,

which is my worst nightmare, because I

didn't even want to do this unless I was with Jess.

So I'm his worst nightmare come true.

- Watch your step. - Ugh.

It's going to be one of those days.

It's OK, girl.

- Let's carry it down. - All right.

We do not have a choice in our partners.

But it worked out perfectly fine.

- All right, you ready? - Yup.

Let's go.

We've worked together before.

Honestly, we probably would have picked them anyway.

Appreciate it, man.

So it's pretty fortunate how that shook up.

Yeah.

Check up in the trees.

I'll check on the ground, OK? - OK.

Did you see anything?

I see nothing up there.

Looking for a few canteens.

- Two canteens of water. - Nothing?

Nothing.

Maybe it's in the marsh.

I don't see anything over here.

Look at the trees.

See how there's something dangling in the tree?

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Those have to be canteens, right?

Here we go. Got it.

OK.

NARRATOR: Teams will now race a quarter

of a mile across the lake to a lookout tower

that rangers use to keep an eye out for poachers.

This is where they'll find their next clue.

Paddle your raft towards the lookout tower.

That's it.

They found the clue.

Oh, there it is.

Perfect.

OK, it's over there.

We saw Jess and Kristi point, showing

us where the canteens were.

They never called our names.

They were very smart in that.

Over here.

We have no idea how long partners

are going to be swapped up.

But we knew that if we stick together,

we could help each other if we got into trouble.

I got. I got.

I got. - All right, let's go.

You got it.

[splashing]

You look good, dude.

All right.

I don't see a thing.

Oh, my gosh.

No one looks like they got anything.

Britney is a national champion in rowing.

They're probably in the lead right now.

[SINGING] Row, row, row, your boat gently down the stream.

I got the partner lottery, I did.

Britney taught me how to row properly.

- Paddle. - Paddle.

It wasn't really rowing-- paddling.

Nice.

Alex took direction very well in the raft,

which was kind of nice, because Lucas would have been, go.

Come on. Let's go.

Let's go.

So it was nice to be able to feel like, you know,

I could contribute something.

Lucas is going to hate that he's not with me on this challenge,

though.

Paddle, Jess, paddle.

[exciting music]

Due to a rhino track or bushwhack.

Black rhinos are on the critically endangered list,

in large part because hunters want them

for their horn that is used for medicinal and ornamental

products.

These animals have had their horns cut off to discourage

poachers from k*lling them.

Imire's anti-poaching patrols are constantly looking

for evidence of hunters--

evidence that teams will need to find riding on horseback.

Once they've gathered all eight pieces of poaching evidence,

they'll have to recall where they found them

and properly place them on this map to get their next clue.

Imire's rhino rangers are often patrolling

in the bush for hours at a time with no access to water.

Following an off-road trail, teams must replenish a ranger

supply station with water.

But first, they have to get through these bogs.

This is guaranteed to get messy.

I'll go with you, whatever you want.

Yes, yes, right on track. Right on track.

You're doing great.

God, it is gooey in here.

- Nothing? - No.

OK, I think I know where it is.

Where, Henry?

I bet it's on the other side, over there.

I'm going to go with strength, which is the bushwhack.

- Cody and Jen? - Yeah.

- We'll need your help. - OK.

The bushwhack.

We need to find our guide and go to the four-by-four.

Let's go.

Evan?

Yeah?

I think everyone went that way and then

is now headed across the lake.

OK.

What the heck, man?

Anything?

Nothing, man, nothing at all.

This is unbelievable.

It's right there.

Paddle your raft towards the lookout tower.

- They just found it. - Really?

- Evan. - Daniel.

Daniel.

OK.

OK.

Riding a horse in Africa.

We are going to go ride horses.

It's hard for me to say no to driving the car.

But horseback riding would be something

that would intimidate people.

So we figured that was probably a strong option to go in.

Matchboxes, newspaper, cartridge shells, bandanna.

Basically, anything that comes from a person.

Let's go.

[exciting music]

- So it's right there. - There they are.

They're hanging from the tree.

Oh, my gosh.

All right, got it?

Oh.

Well, that was frustrating.

All right, let's go, boys and girls.

How in.

I'll take you to the supply depot.

All right.

Have you guys thought about who's going to drive?

Can you drive a stick shift?

Can you drive a stick shift?

Change detours.

OK.

Change detours.

We're making progress.

You got it? Nice, good job.

Come on. Come on.

Come on. - Let's go.

We are the fourth team to come in.

But I think Lucas and Connor are catching up.

We can get them together.

We're getting there, man.

One team behind us, one team in front of us.

Less than a quarter mile to go.

Unearth and remove one empty water container

and replace it with a full water.

Bushwhack.

Where is our by ?

Are you OK, guys?

We got to switch.

Do you want to switch with us?

Why?

Why you guys switching?

Because we can't drive stick.

You can drive stick?

Honestly, yeah, I can drive stick.

OK, if you drive, I can map.

We're not about to go out of this

race because we're not good at driving a stick-shift car.

- Hi, I'm Jen. - Jump in.

[inaudible]

Cody, before we do this, should we

have gone with the girls and just all collaborated?

- Ugh. - I know.

It's--

I think they'll be fine.

Might have been a little bit of a quick decision

to switch detours.

But unfortunately, they've left us, so we're on our own.

I'm the one with the puzzle-solving

thing in my brain.

That's not Kristi's strength.

- Jess is pretty good at it. - Is she?

- Yeah. - OK.

We had the chance to make the call.

We made it.

We're about to go catch some animal poachers.

Oh, my gosh.

This is-- this is hard.

Our partners-- neither one of them can drive stick,

and we both drive stick.

They had to switch detours to the other one.

And now we're feeling like, should we

have gone and helped them?

Oh, my god.

I am jealous of the horseback riding.

Yeah, that would have been cool.

You're looking left and right, right, Britney?

Yeah.

Oh, stop.

Can we get off? Yeah?

What are we looking at? Oh, matches.

MAN: Do you want to get off?

WOMAN: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

There's one, so we document it--

matches.

What are we supposed to memorize?

It doesn't say we have to memorize

Let me read this part of the clue.

"Collect evidence of poachers and accurately

document the evidence.

Receive your next clue."

So I think we have to memorize the order in which we saw it.

Got it.

OK, Jess.

You look cute.

You look adorable.

I got a feeling Cody's spot.

You're so cute.

He wouldn't say that.

All right, Jess, let's do it.

Guys.

Jess, have you ridden a horse?

I used to ride horses in the Catskills

a long time ago, when I was little.

All right, by -- bushwhack.

- Which one you want to do? - Second one's bushwhack.

- OK. - We're going to do bushwhack.

- Evan. - Yeah?

- We're doing bushwhack. - OK, OK.

All right, come on.

Bring it in.

Let's go Let's go.

Let's go. Come on.

Hurry up. Hurry up.

One of you guys will be driving.

Is this the last by ?

Yeah, this is the last one.

Evan, how about we do bushwhack?

You guys have to do the other one now.

OK.

Yeah, the other one's just more detail-oriented and stuff.

I think she's just good at that stuff.

Yeah.

All right.

We got to find evidence of poachers.

Canteens, clothes, coals, boots, rope, cans.

Pretty much anything man-made.

Great, thank you.

OK, this is something we can totally make up a ton of time

on. - Yes.

We're going to be great at this.

[exciting music playing]

Pick up a jack, jack handle, a cable, a water,

two shovels, and a [inaudible]

Oh, my god.

Wow, I'm probably not in second.

Sorry.

Drive left?

Right, right, right, right, right, right, right.

Oh, zebras.

Oh, my god.

Look at the zebras.

They're so beautiful.

Hi, zebras.

Warthog!

Oh, my god.

[dramatic music]

Little Bambis.

Don't get stuck looking at the animals.

Look for campsites.

OK, I've got the left-hand side.

You just stay right. - OK.

Oh, right here, right here, right here.

Stop, sir-- matches.

One check.

Good spy, Kristy.

Thanks.

Go, go, Gadget, go.

I got the one that you have to kind of push to keep on track,

but it's all right.

Uh-ohm campfire.

Yeah, yeah, I'll get it. I'll get it.

OK.

What should I grab from it, a coal?

Yeah. Make sure it's not hot, though.

It actually just looks like it.

I got it.

I found coal.

Too bad it's not a diamond.

Oh, wait.

I already have one of those.

MAN: All right, so you guys need to pick

up the winch, two shovels, and then one water container.

Do you know how to use a winch?

Yeah.

Oh, you're my hero.

I feel like the alignment is slightly off here.

All right, boys, hang on here.

You need to both walk through the water.

Make sure it's clear.

If you can't walk it, you can't drive it.

Let's walk.

Do you want walk together?

I'm going to walk straight towards this red flag.

OK.

And just kind of feel around with my feet.

[upbeat music playing]

Evan?

Yeah?

I guess we're looking for the "mane" idea.

Oh. Whoa, whoa, whoa.

- Oh. - Matches.

Good eye. Good eye.

- Coals. - Yeah.

- OK. - Good job.

Let's go, Goldie.

Good job, Goldie.

I think I talk to this horse like I talked to Henry.

Hey, bud.

If I talk to the horse like I talk to Eric,

he might throw me off.

Whoa, boy.

It's so hard when you don't know what you're looking for.

I think that they'll make it obvious,

like the matches and the coal. - Oh.

You see something?

Yeah, it's a campsite.

So far we have the matches, the coal, and then the wire.

MAN: Oh, here we go.

WOMAN: Oh, yeah, this is definitely obvious--

so matches, coal, wire, and can.

Matches, coal--

Wire, can.

[water sloshing]

I think you should drive, Cody.

OK. WOMAN: Good job, Cody.

Woo-hoo, bet you never thought you were going to do this.

It's a sweet vehicle.

WOMAN: Good job, Cody.

MAN: Accelerate.

Cody successfully drove across the water like a champ.

Nice, Cody.

Where's the handbrake at?

All right, we're gonna have to [inaudible]

Thanks for driving, Eric.

Oh, yeah, no problem, man.

If we do get any water crossings,

I'm going to have you park and walk through it,

just to make sure that there's no deep holes

or any crocs in there.

[dramatic music]

All right, let's go.

[exciting music]

Is that a car ahead of us?

It looks like we're going to have to get through some water

here. - Good job.

There you go.

[exciting music]

MAN: Good job, boys.

WOMAN: Supply station.

All right, right there.

It turns out that it's harder to dig in than snow.

Right here.

OK, awesome.

Here, I'll clear out behind you.

We had to un-dig water tanks.

Awesome.

Throw this inside of this.

Replace it with a full water t*nk,

and then fill that back in.

Well, Cody is strong, so this is kind of nice.

[dramatic music]

MAN: Slow down a bit.

Bump it to the right.

Give it some gas.

MAN: Good job.

Great job.

Great job.

Hang on. Here's something, here.

MAN: There it is. - Is that full or empty?

Empty. We got to--

All right.

Here we go.

Sorry.

I'm getting you dirty.

Can you grab the empty one?

Let's go.

That was quick for us.

That was good.

[atmospheric music playing]

WOMAN: Um, hey, Jess?

WOMAN: Yeah?

WOMAN: We are riding horses in the African bush.

WOMAN: Isn't this amazing?

WOMAN: So amazing.

WOMAN: I'm very appreciative right now.

This is a pretty amazing detour.

MAN: Are you seeing this?

WOMAN: Wow, look at that.

MAN: Man, this makes me want to start riding horses again.

WOMAN: I know, right?

MAN: We should get married on the beach on horseback.

WOMAN: You know, I'm not going to lie.

That was my dream.

But then I thought horses might be a little overkill.

MAN: Be cool for pictures.

Do it for the Gram.

WOMAN: Sweet.

We're coming up on another river crossing.

MAN: You need to both walk it to find your best crossing point.

OK.

- Left. - Way left?

Yeah.

This is super deep.

So do not-- I don't think--

Right here is good-- this left side.

I trust you.

[dramatic music]

I've always wanted an African mud bath.

Good job, Cody. Nice job.

Nice job. You got it.

You got it. You got it.

You got it. You got it.

Yeah, buddy.

Woo!

I got a little by experience-- not much.

It's been a while.

I feel really good about my partner right now.

Hopefully Cody feels the same.

He picked me.

Yeah, I really hope that other challenge was more meticulous.

WOMAN: Did you just take a second to, like, absorb this?

I'm trying.

The smile hasn't left my face.

Do we want bones?

WOMAN: Did we see bones?

WOMAN: There's a whole lot of them.

Yes.

God, I hope these aren't real.

Oh, they're real.

[CHUCKLES] Great.

MAN: b*llet shells. - And amm*nit*on.

That's six.

That's the scary part.

We don't know how many we need.

MAN: Oh, look at the zebras.

Just keep going this way, right?

MAN: Yeah. - Yeah.

[dramatic music]

Careful.

So we don't want that one, all right.

The only thing is, it's just-- it's quite goopy.

Like, I'm stuck.

Oh, geez.

I'd say stick with this one.

All right, good?

All right, let's go.

All right, second gear.

Low RPM.

Second gear, low RPM.

[inaudible]

Well, that would be us stalling.

This isn't my kind of driving.

What's that over there?

Oh, cooking utensils.

WOMAN: Matches, coal, wire, can, bone, ammunitions,

and cooking utensil. That's--

MAN: Seven.

WOMAN: Seven.

I'm actually not sure how many total we're supposed to find.

It doesn't say.

OK.

It just says if you document it incorrectly.

I guess at the end, we'll have to document this.

Yeah.

Oh, do you see this thing?

MAN: That's a snare.

It's folded up.

WOMAN: I'm hoping the part at the end, the documenting,

is hard.

That would be good for us.

MAN: Yes.

We got anything?

We just need our next clue.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.

Congratulations, guys.

Welcome to Zimbabwe. - Thank you very much.

--so much.

All right, you got that?

Route info-- make your way to the next pit stop.

NARRATOR: Teams will complete this leg here

at the Savannah Plains Overlook, where

the view speaks for itself.

The last team to check in here may be eliminated.

All right, let's go.

All right, so you got to be the winch man.

You got this.

Why didn't you come out and help me?

Because someone had to be behind the wheel.

And I think he did a really good job.

I think communicated quite well.

There we go.

Yeah.

Let me know when.

Oh, boy, this is going to be tough.

[exciting music]

Don't twist your ankle on this.

Thank you.

All right.

Welcome to you.

I'm Mary Reiner, wildlife conservation.

- That was quick. - Was it?

Yeah.

That was very fast.

Like how fast?

You're the first team to arrive.

However--

OK.

I need you to wait for your teammates to arrive

before I can check you in.

OK, well, hopefully they're the--

the next crew up.

So so far, we have matches.

We have a snare.

WOMAN: We have b*llet casings, bones.

WOMAN: We have a can. - Yeah.

We have a lot of evidence to prove

that there are poachers here.

Yeah.

Read the clue again and just make sure

that there's not a certain number of stuff

we need to bring back.

WOMAN: The clue says, "Collect evidence of poachers."

It does not say anything number-wise.

WOMAN: So we just have to grab everything we pass.

ALEX: All right, here's the cooking utensils.

BRITTANY: Matches, coal, wire, cans, bone,

amm*nit*on, Kn*fe, and fork.

ALEX: Yup.

MAN: Dig another water hole, man.

Resupply for an anti-poaching team.

Ugh, got everything?

That's good.

MAN: You want me to start going?

[engine roaring]

Hang on.

The front tires are stuck, man.

We're stuck on like a wall.

MAN: All right, let's see what we got here.

Oh, man.

MAN: So how bad is it over there?

All right, let's check it out.

We feel a lot better seeing Connor

and Lucas still right there.

So we knew that the teams weren't out of sight.

Y'all, let's get the winch.

[exciting music]

[engine straining]

MAN: Holy crap.

[upbeat percussion music]

She's going home.

I was not expecting this.

They basically just went through my wish list

and checked off all the particulars--

water and a horse, all on one leg.

Here we go.

Here we go.

[inaudible]

OK.

Should we try to put it in Order the first thing

was matches, so--

That matches coal.

Coal, wire, can, bone.

And then we said amm*nit*on.

And then we said Kn*fe and fork.

But that doesn't look right because the tree was--

sure.

But the tree was also [inaudible]

Yes.

And the amm*nit*on was--

That go like that.

OK.

So can we get a check?

It's a long ride to have to do again.

I'm sorry, it's not correct.

OK, well, then we're just going to switch one thing.

- OK? - Check?

Check?

[dramatic music]

Yeah, it's good.

Great, thank you.

Route info-- "Make your way to the next pit stop

on the edge of [inaudible] Lake.

This is just the story of my life.

I'm always stuck in a mud pit.

I need to get closer to that hill and get a run going up it,

you know what I mean?

But I'm going to try and hit it as straight as I can.

MAN: Oh, yeah.

Because there's no way we're making it through this thing.

MAN: No.

Yeah, it's-- it's holy, and not in the Biblical sense.

Argh!

MAN: Give me some gas.

All right.

[tires whirring]

So close.

So close.

[dramatic music]

We're close, man.

We're almost out.

Lucas-- I'll tell you what.

He was the winch king.

If that's a title you can assume from now on,

you are now the Winch King.

Oh, my god, this is not easy.

MAN: We are so close.

Ugh.

Yeah.

Turn it the other way.

Argh, come on you stupid thing.

[dramatic music swelling]

I have winching experience.

But most of the winches we use are-- are a*t*matic.

You hook them up.

You press the button.

Beep, and you go.

This one was literally a half inch at a time,

and it was exhausting.

I know this is terrible.

So sorry.

I feel terrible for you.

You're the best lifeguard I've ever known.

We need one good pull.

Yes!

Freedom.

Woo!

All right, now let's go.

MAN: Oh, boy.

MAN: Well done.

That was less than enjoyable.

If anyone made it through THAT I would

love to watch an instant replay and just see how they did it,

because I would like to learn.

MAN: Great job, Cody.

Yeah, buddy.

Woo!

Whoa!

I feel good about what we did.

I think the horses might have been easier, but.

As long as there's a team behind us I'm happy.

Yeah, exactly.

One of the twins with Henry from Yale--

They were stuck right in the middle.

Yeah, I mean--

They're going to have a long day

of winching out of that thing.

Keep those wheels spinning.

Just trying to use my body weight,

which ain't a whole lot easier.

[dramatic music]

[groaning]

[upbeat percussion music]

You know, I see some teams right over there.

Is that them?

Come on, girls.

[triumphant music]

Oh, my god.

Hi, guys.

Welcome.

Alex and Britney, you're the second team to arrive.

Hey.

MAN: However, I need you to wait for your partners

to arrive before I can officially check you in.

Oh, that's the catch.

Do you know where they are?

We believe they're on the by 's.

Oh, my god, elephants.

Oh, my god.

Look at the tusks on those things.

That's amazing.

[elephant grunting]

[triumphant music playing]

WOMAN: We made it.

That was so cool.

WOMAN: Digging holes or riding horseback?

I'm really glad we switched.

Yeah.

It was absolutely stunning.

Oh, no.

We need to know where we found it.

Nice.

Can you place the evidence on the map

as you find them on the trail?

OK.

WOMAN: This was right after the water crossing.

Yeah.

WOMAN: Where was the snare?

I don't know.

WOMAN: Before the water crossing.

Matches were first.

Coal was the second.

Fork was last.

I don't think it goes first through last.

The difficulty with this detour

is the trail was fairly long.

We had no issue finding the pieces of evidence.

But we kind of forgot the exact order

in which we picked things up.

Wasn't the fork the last thing we picked up?

WOMAN: Yeah.

The b*llet was pretty close to last.

That might be right.

Can we get a check, please?

Sorry, guys, it's not correct.

OK.

I'm not so confident in the coal.

WOMAN: The coal was definitely the second one.

WOMAN: Yeah, but it might not be in order.

You know what I mean?

[intense music]

I'm good.

I'm good.

This one was by a tree.

Yeah, this tree.

WOMAN: OK, we need to remember what we tried,

so we don't try the same stuff over again.

I'm confident in these four.

I think it's-- the fork we picked up last.

Last was along the lake, remember?

WOMAN: It was along the lake.

WOMAN: So this is the lake.

WOMAN: So is it going this way instead?

Let's try this.

No, it's not correct.

We could be here all day.

[dramatic music]

Yeah, they are.

Yes.

[triumphant music]

Dammit.

Hey, man.

Lucas and Conner, you're the third team to arrive.

And because your teammates are on the mat--

Good job, buddy.

That means I can check you in.

Woo!

MAN: The Partner Swap is over.

MAN: Good.

You're going back with your original teammates,

and you are still racing.

I have your next clue, so get back into your original partner

configuration.

Good, thank you.

Make your way to Khan Fabrics Haberdashery--

Haberdashery?

In Harare and find--

Your next clue.

You have $ for this new route.

Oh.

MAN: All right.

Come on, girls.

[dramatic music]

Let's get out of here.

We'll take one of these shuttles with you guys.

Let's go, full throttle.

Woo!

I think we did a pretty good job.

It was cool to mix it up a little bit with the partner.

I mean, we actually paired well--

very, very well together.

So it worked out well in the end.

MAN: It was great to work with Brittney.

He said it immediately.

He was like, oh, my gosh, Brittney's

going to be so good at this. - It was a cool to mix up.

We did a strong leg.

And now we're back with the original partner.

I'll Miss Brittney a bit, but-- WOMAN: Aww.

It'll be OK.

I'll be right there in your heart.

MAN: OK.

Bye-bye rhinos.

I didn't see one rhino.

[rhino bellowing]

What's our hybrid team name?

Oh, we got to think about that.

The Academic Flannel?

I don't know.

What's this on the right?

Yeah, that's definitely something.

Can we stop please?

Let's do-- yeah, let's try this one.

We want to try again.

Oh, say a little prayer.

Not correct.

WOMAN: Beautiful, Goldie.

This is just super cool.

I know.

Like, what are we doing in Africa?

We're struggling with the path we went on.

I want to switch these two.

WOMAN: I think those were right.

We kind of went past them.

WOMAN: OK.

So let's try it again.

Not correct.

[dramatic music]

Here we go.

[dramatic music intensifies]

Woo!

Henry, good job.

MAN: That was really tiring.

We're still not out of the detour yet, so.

Who knows what's happening on the other side of course, man.

Awesome job, Goldie.

You got it, girl.

You got it, girl.

Good girl.

[inaudible]

WOMAN: Can we just try this flipped for my sanity?

I just want to try it.

WOMAN: All right, we'll try it.

Good job, Goldie.

Now I'm definitely talking to the horse

like I'm talking to Henry.

WOMAN: Hey, guys, this is hard.

WOMAN: Oh, yeah?

You want to work together?

We'll see.

We're going to give it a sh*t and then let you know.

Not correct.

It's OK.

Evan just got here with one of the twins.

She wants to tackle the puzzle on her own.

I'm not surprised by that.

I know the order we went in.

OK, yeah, so that's good.

Kristy asked us if we wanted to work together.

No, definitely not.

Uh-uh.

So the first thing were the matches, and then coals, right?

MAN: Yeah.

It has to be mutually beneficial to agree to it.

Do you remember where the snare came in?

So I think as long as you're comfortable saying no

to people, which I definitely am, then

it's kind of a good position for us to be in.

The snare was on the side of a trail.

We're all here to try to win this thing.

And we're going to do what we need to.

She frustrates me because she's not a team

player at any point in time.

OK, let's just think through it for a second.

Did the bone come before the shell?

WOMAN: I'm not sure. MAN: I think it did.

WOMAN: Yeah?

MAN: And then the fork went like that, right?

WOMAN: Yeah, I think so.

MAN: Can we get checked?

WOMAN: Can we get checked?

MAN: I feel like it's right.

I just want to hear if they get this correct.

[music intensifies]

That's correct.

Oh, boom, OK.

WOMAN: She got it.

Thank you so much.

Thank you, sir.

They got it.

They kind of went in order.

It's frustrating, but we don't know what we're doing.

We're doing our best.

[music intensifies]

- Not correct. - OK.

OK.

We're really disheartened at the moment.

Great-- Winston.

I got something to give you.

All right.

Oh, what you doing there?

- It's a little sweaty. - Let's do it.

Yeah.

OK, cool.

Cody and Jen, we're waiting for your teammates

to arrive before I can check you in.

Any idea where they are?

No idea where they are.

Brittany and Alex said that they were right behind them

on horseback.

But I think there was a--

like a problem or a question or something

you had to solve with the evidence you gathered.

I mean, it's clearly giving them some trouble.

Oh, come on, girls.

How the-- did they do this?

We were having fun on Safari.

We're like moving so much around right now.

I'm not thinking that this is the last photo, though.

I'm thinking this is the last photo because this

is where we crossed the river.

So what if the loop is literally just this?

Do you want to just try it?

[music intensifies]

WOMAN: It goes like that.

That's what I was saying.

OK.

That's what I've been telling you.

We know the fork came last. OK.

The fork came last.

Can we get a check, please?

Check.

Oh, I hate this.

Correct.

All right, all right, all right.

Let's hustle.

MAN: Is that Eric or Daniel?

MAN: That looks like Daniel.

There he is.

It's hard to tell you guys apart.

OK, Daniel and Evan, you're the fourth team to arrive.

However, you need to wait for your teammates to arrive

here before I can check you in.

You know where they are?

No.

No idea.

Come on, ladies, I know you can figure this out.

Jen, this is not good, right?

No.

I am kicking myself right now.

Is that another team right there, guys?

[dramatic music] - Is that Eric?

You got it. MAN: Come on.

Eric, come on, run.

You guys got this.

Come on, Henry.

Y'all got it.

Y'all got it.

Amazing.

Oh, good job.

MAN: Great, great, great.

MAN: Good job.

OK.

You're not getting a kiss.

Eric and Henry, you are the fifth team to arrive.

The Partner Swap is over.

I have your next clue.

How are you [inaudible]

You're back to your original partners.

All right. WOMAN: Got it?

MAN: Yup, go.

Let's go.

MAN: You got everything-- passports, money?

MAN: Yep. WOMAN: OK.

MAN: Vroom, vroom.

MAN: Vroom, vroom.

Kristi and Jess asked us to work with them.

And we were LIKE we're just going

to check it out on our own.

I'm not going to help them, so.

Wow.

MAN: We just got to stay ahead of them girls.

Is that them right there?

Yeah, ladies!

[whistles]

MAN: Let's do it, guys.

Nice job, ladies.

Come to me.

[triumphant music]

Good job.

Are we last?

Reunited-- Kristy and Jessica, you

are the last team to arrive.

However, the good news is that you can still keep racing.

The Partner Swap is over.

I have your next clue.

Here you are.

WOMAN: Thank you.

An elephant!

All right, driver, very fast.

We are leaving in fifth and sixth place.

Doesn't feel good.

I love Kristy.

But I don't know if we balance each other well as far as,

like, my strengths versus her weaknesses.

So we are happy to be back with our regular partners.

No.

If we see them, we're going to feel pretty good.

WOMAN: If we see them on the side of the road,

we're going to feel even better.

I didn't get any help from Evan this morning.

WOMAN: Seems like most teams right now

have a target on Yale.

That's a smart team, and we know if they stay in this race

too long, it could be really dangerous for the rest of us.

There's only one team that can win "The Amazing Race,"

and we want to make it to the end.

Yeah, it was a natural fit.

I mean--

We got along really well.

Our personalities all jive well.

You know, nobody's, like, overbearing, and--

I had some great puns from this guy to keep me going.

I don't know how you put up with him.

Now you know what I got to deal with my whole life.

Me and Henry didn't have no puns.

We just had work.

MAN: Our vehicle only had horsepower.

You limit it.

You limit it out for the day, or we're not

going to have friends anymore.

After a Partner Swap in the previous leg,

teams have reunited and will now leave this wildlife refuge

and make their way to Harare, the capital city of Zimbabwe,

Almost a mile above sea level and home to . million people.

Here they are.

All right, guys, get ready.

Let's do it.

Here we go.

Look, come on, this way.

Thank you.

- Do you know where to go? - Yeah, it's all right.

Awesome.

Thanks, man.

[elephant grunting]

[warthog grunting]

[cow mooing]

Oh, hey, there's a cow.

We're going back to Harare.

We're going to this haberdashery.

If anyone knows where the haberdashery is--

Yeah, please let us know.

I'll be impressed.

Send us a message.

Yeah, I don't know what that means.

[funk music playing]

Normally they're in control of the car.

It's basically, now with six teams left, survival.

Just don't be in the back.

I was excited as soon as I saw I had partner back.

And she's probably the strongest woman in all this group, so.

It did make us appreciate each other again.

Sometimes you take it for granted.

And, you know, you might see things--

Refreshes your memory, let's say.

- Ah, here we go. - Get it done, guys.

You, too.

We'll see you soon.

- Can you drive fast? - Yes, I will.

Oh, great.

Oh, great.

MAN: Here comes other teams already, too.

MAN: Already?

All right, so we've already caught up to two teams.

MAN: They just got here.

Holy moly.

Can you take us?

We need to catch up to those cars.

We can't let them out of our sights.

We have no lead on Team Extreme and Big Brother.

They're right behind us.

So it's all of us right at the back.

Working with Cody was great.

Being away from Kristi was hard, and

just not being able to help her and not knowing where she was.

Fortunately we're back in the race, and we're still here.

WOMAN: We have a long drive to Harare.

And nobody was eliminated this time.

So this next leg, we're probably going to lose a team today.

And we're just going to try not to be that team.

Yeah.

[spirited percussion music]

Khan Fabrics, so go that way.

Is that Khan Fabric--

Khan?

Yeah, it's over here. - Thank you.

Thank you.

Here it is.

Brittany!

Double U-turn.

You want to U-turn somebody?

WOMAN: You guys want to do it? - One and one?

MAN: Yeah, we kind of have to.

Yeah, so let's pick--

MAN: Oh, boy.

MAN: Big Brother and--

Should we take out--

MAN: This sucks. We have to do it.

MAN: Yeah, just-- - We have to do it.

- We U-turn-- - Henry and Evan.

- Henry and Evan. - It's tough, man.

I mean, it's-- we weren't expecting that.

MAN: We got to play the game.

There's nothing personal on U-turning Yale.

We wanted to try and get a strong team out.

We U-turned Big Brother.

As a couple, they're very strong together.

And at this part of the race, you can't go through U-turns

and just let them go.

Had they been in the same position,

I believe that they would have done it as well.

MAN: And they have done it before.

Detour.

Handle with care or just get it there.

The architects behind the Eastgate Mall use

the self-cooling design of this termite

mound as the inspiration behind this architectural wonder.

Its unique shape allows for efficient ventilation,

drastically reducing the need for expensive air conditioning

and heating.

Teams must head to the mailroom, pick up seven packages,

and deliver them through a confusing maze of corridors

and suspension walkways to the businesses

in the mall in exchange for their outgoing mail.

Once all the mail is delivered, they'll get their next clue.

There are more than , workers offering goods

and services here in Harare.

Many can be identified by the blue uniforms they wear

and seen in businesses like this, a used tire vendor.

Each team must now deliver two tires, just like the locals do,

by rolling them.

They'll have to travel a half a mile

through this bustling market and roll

them onto the back of this delivery truck

to get their next clue.

We're going to do "just get it there," all right?

Get it there.

We're going to do "just get it there."

Just get it there.

What a freaking move.

MAN: Things got pretty intense right there.

Since there was a double U-turn,

that means two teams are going to be fighting

it out for, well, last place.

But, hey, it's the nature of the game.

MAN: Got to do it.

We've got a fire and maneuver, as they say.

Is it-- right? Fire and maneuver.

We U-turned Big Brother.

We don't like to make enemies, but you

got to do what you got to do, I guess, to get to the end.

And I think it's time to be a little bit more competitive.

Hopefully there's no hard feelings.

[intense music playing]

It looks like Cody and Jessica--

Were U-turned by Lucas and Brittany.

And Henry and Evan were U-turned by Alex and Conner.

Fortunately, we were not one of the teams that was U-turned.

Very fortunately.

We're off the hook.

Dodged that b*llet.

That's like a massive b*llet.

That's it, Khan Fabrics.

WOMAN: Are we looking for a clue?

Search for your next clue.

Oh, my god--

U-turns.

Lucas and Britney--

MAN: U-turned us?

Son of a bitch.

All right, which one do you want to do first?

Handle with care.

OK.

I don't really get Ocean Spray's logic

with U-turning us.

But it's fine.

It must have been something personal,

because, I mean, as far as I was concerned,

we were good with Ocean Spray.

I don't think she likes you.

I don't like her, so feeling's mutual.

Khan Fabrics-- here we go.

Any clue?

Did you see this U-turn board?

MAN: Oh, no.

We got U-turned.

MAN: Oh, you serious?

No way.

Y'all got it, man.

Y'all good enough to overcome that.

We're going with "handle with care."

It doesn't matter.

We have to do both of them.

Who U-turned us? Did you see?

Indy Car. It doesn't matter.

Just keep going.

That's fatal for whoever is on there, one of the two teams.

You get U-turned now, you're probably done.

Oh, yeah.

God, that sucks.

Yeah, it does.

We just got to try and knock this out

and hope that Cody and Jess aren't that far ahead of us.

Yeah.

Let's say a prayer.

Yeah.

WOMAN: Someone's got to get eliminated,

and it just sucks that it might be us.

It's a really bad feeling.

[suspenseful music]

[horns honking]

MAN: Oh, come On

WOMAN: OK.

This is not good.

MAN: This is it?

Yep, thank you.

MAN: OK, got it.

Truck tires--

Magaba Tyres, right there.

All right, there we go.

[dramatic music]

MAN: And it seemed like "just get it there"

was going to be a pretty straightforward.

Roll a tire down a market to a hardware store.

MAN: Here we go.

But the marketplace is wild, man--

a lot of busy activities, people selling everything

under the sun, semi trucks on a dirt road

in the middle of a market.

Certainly a new cultural experience for me.

We're looking for a fork in the road, then

pedestrian path tunnel.

Dude, we could be walking around this market all day.

Yeah.

You feel good about it, Jen?

It's going to be hard and hot.

Magaba Tyres.

All right, so we found the tire place.

It's a good start.

Hey, Brittany.

Hey.

All right, let's work together.

Yeah, let's move.

Brittany and Lucas just arrived.

We're going to move down the street together.

It's going to be hot.

We had to deliver our tires to Cameron Hardware--

WOMAN: Without a map, through the busiest market

I've ever been in in my life.

WOMAN: So many people.

Wait for me, babe.

Come on, babe.

Hold-- hold up.

Go.

Come on, babe.

You want the little one? Get the little one.

Go, go.

Come on, one hand-- get momentum.

Go. Get momentum.

Come on. On the side--

This one's worse.

MAN: Go.

Wait, which building is this? That one?

OK.

Thank you.

MAN: All right.

This does not look like any mall I've ever been to.

[dramatic music]

For our first detour, we had to deliver

seven packages through, like, a big indoor mall.

Choose a group of color-coded packages to be delivered.

Any time we go to a place, we've got to get the outgoing mail.

You want to drag this one?

I can drag this one.

I honestly went in thinking that I

was going to grab one package.

And then I see Jessica grab like five packages

and drag them along.

And I'm like, all right, that's how we're going to do it.

We're looking for Old Mutual Property.

OK.

And then what about United States African?

Seventh floor, OK.

Use those stairs.

MAN: Oh, my gosh.

East Gate Dental is on Level .

Eggers, One World.

Parking garage-- back.

Go up.

Let's try and find another one.

MAN: Office is to the right here.

Old Mutual-- is that it?

MAN: All right, we got some mail for you.

And then we also need some outgoing mail.

Thank you.

Let me grab that.

Front of the food court.

Every second counts when you're getting U-turns.

This is survival mode again for us, which seems

to be a routine at this point.

Oh, this is going to be a long one.

Let's go to the sixth first.

Oh, god.

HENRY: Oh, yeah, it's here. It's here.

It's here. I see it.

The fact that they U-turned us doesn't alter

our strategic calculations.

I think having competed before in debate, you know,

one of the most important things is just never giving up.

So we have to get the detours done as quickly as possible.

Straight, this way?

[inaudible]

OK, great, thank you.

Woo!

Is this the right way?

Honestly, I don't know.

We're just going to a fork in the road.

I don't know, man.

What?

What don't you know?

I just-- never mind.

This is a fork through this, yeah.

All right, let's go.

Let's keep going.

Here's the fork, I think.

Yeah, it's definitely pedestrian.

I see the tunnel.

Got it.

Thank you.

Quit going slow. Come on.

I'm not going slow.

I can't go any faster, babe.

Pedestrian path-- right here.

Wait, you guys.

Oh.

Grab that.

[dramatic music]

It's hot.

MAN: Eastgate.

Eastgate.

So we need the mailroom.

United States Africa?

[bell dings]

Thank you.

All right, let's go.

Ma'am, do you know where the [inaudible]

WOMAN: Sixth floor, yeah, sir?

Sixth?

What are we not seeing?

All right, let's grab more packages just

before we go back up there.

[suspenseful music]

Daniel?

What?

Yeah, you got to unbundle them first, too.

Eastgate.

All right, ready?

Grab the big one.

Well, actually, make sure that we can carry more than one.

It doesn't say.

We might as well just do one at a time.

We can't afford to screw it up.

Information?

Yeah, which company are you looking for?

The Data Control and Systems?

Data Control is fourth floor, OK?

MAN: Fourth floor?

Yes.

MAN: All right, go ahead.

[suspenseful music]

Anyway, it doesn't say you can't bring more than one.

All right.

Well, when we go back, we'll get more than one.

This place is a maze.

[bell dinging] - Thank you.

OK.

All right, we've got to double up on this.

Yeah.

We're in a totally foreign world.

Oh, you got to look for that electronics store.

Hardware.

Hardware.

What do you think, man?

I don't know.

We're on Cameron Street.

Yeah.

Cameron Fabric Center.

MAN: Maybe it's around the corner.

Oh, I didn't say anything about corners.

Tunnel.

Coming through, guys.

You see Cameron Hardware?

Yeah, it's right in front of us.

We're at Cameron Hardware.

Kristi, one second.

Yup.

There are stairs we could go up.

It's behind it.

Kristi?

Let's just go.

They're not waiting for us.

[dramatic music]

It's right here, Kristi--

right here.

Is this the marked truck?

Yup.

He's got a clue.

OK.

Thank you so much.

[inaudible] "Take your car to the city's largest park,

Harare Gardens, and search for your next clue."

WOMAN: Lucas.

MAN: The girls went this way.

Come on.

WOMAN: You see them?

You guys, right up those stairs.

Good job.

Good job.

[dramatic music]

Got it, babe?

MAN: Yeah.

Thank you so much.

You're welcome.

Hey, guys.

Guys, it's straight ahead.

Look for Cameron Hardware as you come out of the tunnel--

up the stairs on the right. - Thank you.

Yeah.

I didn't get any help from Evan this morning.

And so as soon as Jen was like, oh, yeah, it's just, you know,

right there, I was like, really?

Really?

WOMAN: I'm an idiot.

- Cameron Hardware Store. - Yeah.

There. On the end.

MAN: It's right there?

All right.

No, it's our boy right here.

For you.

You guys need tires.

For you.

Tires, right?

Yeah, tires. Good, good.

You?

Just put them in the back?

OK, yeah.

[truck beeping]

[men grunting]

[suspenseful music]

Sweet.

We need our clue.

Clue.

Clue.

OK, hang on a second.

This is-- are you not supposed to receive tires, or you are?

No?

It was a marked flatbed truck.

It's not marked.

Really?

We got to get the tires out. Sorry.

You got it?

This is infuriating.

[suspenseful music]

Got it, hon?

Yup.

OK.

You can't?

OK, thank you so much.

OK.

We got to go back to our driver.

OK.

Do you want to run, or?

What?

I'm just so tired.

OK.

Hopefully, we're doing this at a faster

pace than Cody and Jessica.

[dramatic music playing]

Hi, Reception?

No?

Does it say Global?

This is definitely not it.

Gosh, this sucks.

Are we on the wrong side?

We got to go down.

--the wrong side.

Why can't we find this place?

Excuse me. Oh, look.

It's the twins.

Data Control and Systems?

Fourth floor?

Fourth floor, this side.

Thank you.

For happy smiles.

I'm happy we're here.

Deliveries.

Could we get--

[bell dings]

That's done.

WOMAN: Where are we going?

MAN: Up?

WOMAN: Did we just do this?

MAN: No.

Seeing the twins does nothing for us

because they're not U-turned.

Oh, god, give me strength.

MAN: This is definitely not it.

Do we have to go back down?

MAN: Yeah.

This is unbelievable.

[suspenseful music]

What floor?

CODY: Second.

It was on the second, right?

OK.

We got this one for you, too.

[bell dings]

Can we get another outgoing package?

OK.

Thank you.

Let's go.

All right, that's what we're looking for.

Look. - What is it?

[inaudible] Legal Practitioners.

OK.

Ready, hon?

Yeah, let's do it-- mailroom.

- Mailroom? - Yeah.

Old Mutual?

WOMAN: Yes.

MAN: We have a package for you.

[bell dings]

Woo, it's wonderful.

Hey, there's a team coming.

Oh, it's the twins. Let's ask them.

Yeah.

Hey, guys, are you done?

Yeah.

Well, we're almost done.

WOMAN: Is there a map or anything?

No, there's no map.

Look, the African Foundation's all the way on the sixth floor.

The what?

African Foundation-- all the way up.

You got to get to the door.

OK?

And then the dental clinic-- second floor,

all the way to the right.

OK.

Pretty much all of them were-- are second and above.

OK, thanks so much.

MAN: Good luck, guys.

Thank you.

That's about as good as it--

I guess we could have hoped it could have gone.

And technically, all the teams are ahead of us

right now because we have to do two different challenges.

We don't really know where Yale is at with their detours.

All we know is that we've seen the twins,

and they have not completed their detour yet.

But they only got one to complete.

Yeah.

OK, they said the dental clinic is this way.

- OK. - We're doing well so far.

We just got to keep it up. - Yeah.

WOMAN: Cody and Jessica are the ones that we're trying to b*at.

MAN: Yup.

WOMAN: Because they're the other team that got U-turned.

So you know, knock on wood, we'll

just be able to knock things out quickly and end up OK.

Hello.

Here you go.

And is there outgoing mail?

Is there like a gate to the park?

--to the park?

WOMAN: OK.

WOMAN: OK, this is probably where we want to be.

Thank you. Thank you so much.

No, I see it. I see it.

OK, perfect, fantastic.

I love when she sees things.

A lot of clues in that box.

OK, good.

Route info "Get down to Zimbabwe."

[dance music playing]

Considering that music and dance is such an integral part

of Zimbabwe's culture, it seems only fitting

that while teams are visiting, they experience it firsthand.

[guitar playing]

[man singing in shona]

Teams must learn a popular song in the native language of Shona

and perform it in front of an audience.

Teams will be judged on pronunciation and showmanship.

When band manager TK feels they've found their groove,

he'll hand them a clue.

Hi.

Thank you.

Do we go back here?

Back here?

All right.

WOMAN: OK, what do we do?

So we started with learning the pronunciation.

You go like,

[singing in shona]

Can you do that?

[singing in shona]

[singing in shona]

[singing in shona]

MAN: [singing in shona]

[singing in shona]

[singing in shona]

[singing in shona]

[singing in shona]

[singing in shona]

Exactly.

They don't pronounce things the way that we do.

So when you're looking at a word,

your natural inclination is to pronounce it like in English.

Yeah.

It wasn't quite the same.

[singing in shona]

WOMAN: Yes.

WOMAN: OK.

Here's the clue box.

How are you?

Hi.

Hi, I'm Brittany.

Nice to meet you.

Waiting to dance.

This is my fear.

This is like my one fear--

dancing and singing in front of a live audience.

When we sing together with the band--

Shhhh.

He's a little frustrated--

out of his depth.

Could it be on the other side?

MAN: Yeah.

MAN: Let's try it.

Cameron Hardware Store.

MAN: It's right here.

MAN: Yeah, we walked right by it.

Thanks, man.

Thanks.

Thanks.

That sucks.

Gosh, we look stupid.

As usual.

[dramatic music]

Indy Car-- we just saw them walk by.

We definitely can get intel from them

on where to end up taking these tires.

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.

On what side of Cameron Street is it?

MAN: Right. - Right?

It's on the right side? How far down?

MAN: --as you get out of the tunnel.

Right as you get out of the tunnel?

Right as you get out of the tunnel and go right.

It's up, like, some stairs. - OK, cool.

Thanks, guys. Appreciate what you did.

MAN: No worries.

MAN: No worries.

Andy Car just told us exactly where to go.

So we should have a direct spot to where to go.

Hopefully, they'll come back to help us at one point.

Yeah.

[suspenseful music]

Is this Panberry Trust?

Yes?

OK, here you go.

Oh, thank you.

Thank you so much.

All right, let's go get our driver.

We got it.

Things getting serious now.

Yeah.

- Harare Gardens? - Yes.

All right. Thanks, man.

Do you want to hold this? That's easier.

And then I take these two?

If you can.

Yeah, totally.

Where's the body?

Again?

Yeah.

[festive music playing]

So the first part, you'll be, like, a little bit higher.

And then when you-- the--

And then the second?

[singing in shona]

OK.

I do enjoy performing.

It was one of the things I loved most about my ski career,

was getting on stage in front of a live audience.

However, I was very good at skiing.

I'm definitely less good at singing and dancing.

WOMAN: OK.

--twice.

You want--

All right.

On your left.

Oh, boy.

[singing in shona]

My biggest concern about this entire trip

around the world that we're taking

was always the music aspect of it.

Yep, this is going to suck.

There's going to be teams there already.

We know there's a couple of teams behind us

that are very good.

And we know that we are very bad at everything to do

with music, dance, singing--

MAN: Rhythm.

Anything-- rhythm.

Good. Are you an instructor?

Oh, yeah, yeah.

OK, wonderful.

Singing is just not my thing.

So, yeah, just got to accept new activities.

[drums and guitar playing]

But it's quite difficult because there's no English.

Go, girls.

We were too slow.

Oh, my gosh.

Teacher, what do we do?

WOMAN: You got to go-- it's just the pace.

It's just pace, yeah.

The pace fell behind a little. Yeah.

, let's go.

You get it?

I have no idea where we are.

Oh, you have no idea.

Oh, sorry, sorry.

This is terrible.

We can't dance.

Come on.

Come on.

[upbeat music playing]

Come on, get an instructor.

Let's go.

Good luck, guys.

That-- faster?

Oh, my goodness.

[suspenseful music]

Two hands, Jess, it works better.

I can't get it with two hands.

All right.

Watch out.

This was a crowded marketplace.

It was a physical challenge in the sense

that it just took a toll on you to go through that hot weather

and try to get from point A to point B,

because it was a far distance to get to it.

Are we there yet?

[suspenseful music]

Cool, we're almost done.

Boy, we're hauling.

Here it is.

Hello.

[bell dings]

Do you have outgoing mail for us?

- Thank you so much. - Thank you.

Let's go.

Henry, hurry up.

- Excuse us. - Thank you.

Oh, thank you.

Is this it?

MAN: It's right there.

[grunting and straining]

Thank you.

Thank you.

Go, go, go, go, go.

Excuse me, guys.

MAN: Harare Gardens.

We could have done things a little more logically.

There were a couple of mistakes we made that made us slower.

But who knows?

There could even be another challenge that--

That we have at the gardens.

Maybe it's a head to head.

Who knows?

[singing in shona]

[singing in shona]

Too slow. Too slow.

Too slow.

[singing in shona]

[audience laughing]

Feel your soul.

Just feel your soul.

[singing in shona]

Don't forget the yay, yay.

Yeah.

All right.

Oh, my god.

Hey, guys.

[festive music playing]

I was just freaking out.

I didn't want to let Conner down.

I mean, I could-- it could be singing in the shower,

and I'd have a problem with it.

So that's-- that's the level of concern that I had.

I hate this, too.

But I think I do have just a little bit

more rhythm than him.

MAN: More than a little bit.

[singing in shona]

[singing in shona]

[singing in shona]

Oh, all right.

We'll be back for another round.

[audience laughing]

It was tough, man-- a lot of words, a lot of pronunciation.

[singing in shona]

Man.

We got to practice.

We're stupid.

- Keep on practicing. - OK.

We've seen all the other teams there.

And some of them were teams that we know had rhythm.

And they were still there.

So if they were having a hard time,

we really were going to be struggling.

[singing in shona]

WOMAN: I think the frustrating thing

was that we arrived in first.

And it is completely negated.

[snapping]

I don't speak music.

Can you keep your body to the b*at of the music?

I'll try.

And then you want to keep your words to the b*at of your body.

[singing in shona]

Too slow.

Trying to pronounce the words correctly, singing, dancing--

I had so many things going through my mind.

[singing in shona]

We suck.

I suck.

We could be here all day.

[dramatic music intensifies]

[festive music playing]

[singing in shona]

[singing in shona]

Wait, what is it?

They are not following the pace,

but the pronunciation is good.

WOMAN: What do you need? - I don't know.

What am I doing?

WOMAN: That was just pace again.

You just were slow.

An available instructor is what we're looking for.

Guys, where are the instructors?

OK.

Hi, can we work with you?

- Hey. - Evan.

Nice to meet you. - Henry.

Nice to meet you. - Over there?

Yeah.

We'll follow you anywhere.

Hello.

Hi. Jessica.

- Nice to meet you. - Nice to meet you.

It was wild to see all the teams there because there were

two people that were U-turned.

And then everyone's there.

So we knew it was just going to be

who could get through it first-- who

could make the least mistakes.

We both speak some other languages.

And we got the pronunciation down very quickly.

Exactly. Nice work.

OK, great.

Well, you're a great teacher.

Come on, how could you say that?

Because you are.

[pronouncing shona]

How do you say--

[pronouncing shona]

Z.

[pronouncing shona]

We were worried that we would be the last team there.

So seeing that there was something

you had to do that was obviously holding teams up

was a great feeling.

I want to go ahead and apologize to my kids

for when they get old enough to understand what's

about to take place here.

[cheering]

Here you go.

[festive music playing]

[singing in shona]

[audience laughing]

Woo!

This ain't going to be good.

Can we have your autograph?

We're your biggest fans.

[drums playing]

[festive music playing]

[singing in shona]

You got it, babe.

[singing in shona]

[singing in shona]

[audience cheering]

[singing in shona]

Woo!

Hey, you!

Woo!

Woo!

Baby, I love you.

Thank you.

Woo!

Route info.

Teams will now make their way to the next pit

stop at this outdoor mall.

The last team to check in may be eliminated.

First Street Pedestrian Mall.

It can't be that far, do you think?

No, I don't think it's--

they said by foot.

OK, all right.

You got it, Kristi.

From the top.

[festive music playing]

[singing in shona]

[singing in shona]

[singing in shona]

[guitars playing rhythmically]

- Woo! - Thank you guys.

Thank you. Thank you.

- Thank you. - Thank you so much.

Thank you so much. - Let's go.

Let's go. Let's go.

Let's go.

All right.

Wait, wait.

Come on, babe.

Let's go.

We're here.

PHIL: Hey, you guys can't see?

Welcome to Harare.

Thank you so much. MAN: OK.

Appreciate it.

Lucas and Brittany, I am pleased to tell you,

you are team number one.

And I have some great news for you.

As the winners of this leg of the race,

you have won a trip for two from Travelocity.

And you are going to St. Lucia.

Oh, babe, double honeymoon, here we come.

MAN: You're going to enjoy five all-inclusive nights

at the Ladera Resort in an open-air suite

with a private plunge pool.

BRITTANY: No way!

MAN: Plus, you'll zip-line through the rainforest

and toward the historic town of Soufriere.

- Wow! - Wow.

So awesome.

Can't wait.

Thank you so much.

I know that you led the whole U-turn escapade.

Yeah, you know, I realize that in the first couple

of legs of the race, maybe we were

being a little bit too nice.

Quite frankly, that million dollars

will give me the most incredible, beautiful

wedding that I can imagine.

All's fair in love and w*r.

And love is the wedding, and w*r is the game.

And you know, you got to do what you got to do.

Oh!

MAN: Look, here we have another team.

BRITTANY: Good job, girls.

MAN: All right, beautiful, beautiful.

BRITTANY: Awesome job. - Oh, my gosh.

[speaking shona]

You got to the singing, dancing challenge first.

We did.

You watched all the other teams arrive.

We did.

It was a struggle.

Now you know, Phil.

Now you know our dark little secret.

We are not so strong at song and dance.

[singing in shona]

Is that right?

They got it?

Yeah, they are right.

Oh, yeah, let's have some fun.

[festive music playing]

[singing in shona]

Not quite.

- No? - Oh.

OK go, go, go.

Go, go.

Thanks.

Do you think it was the rhythm?

What you need to do is just follow his rhythm, right?

Just follow his rhythm.

OK, then just right--

Yeah.

Dancing was good, though, right?

Yeah, I like that.

Dance like this.

[singing in shona]

[singing in shona]

Oh, come on.

So close.

I was really impressed how far we made it on the second try.

By the second try, we almost got, you know, towards the end.

And I was like, hang on a second.

Maybe we can actually do this.

I would have given you guys an A. I thought it was great.

I know.

That was F for failure.

[singing in shona]

[singing in shona]

You were off.

Am I way off?

Thank you.

You didn't pronounce the words properly.

Yes.

[pronouncing shona] - OK.

Yes.

Right?

I got it.

Keep studying.

Just keep studying.

It doesn't hurt.

Let's get in line.

[singing in shona]

By the third time, it was like the front row

of a Motley Crue concert.

Everyone was stoked.

I was shouting.

I had so much adrenaline in my body.

Let's go.

Let's go.

Woo!

Yes!

Good job!

When we finished that, I almost threw the mic out.

I was like, yes.

Let's go!

Woo!

[festive music playing]

Yeah!

Let's go!

That was so funny.

[singing in shona]

[singing in shona]

All right, let's go.

You are not ready.

We-- we have to, though.

I mean, let's try.

Dude, I'm so proud of you.

That was the hardest--

I'm so proud of you.

I'm so-- I can't even believe you did that, to be honest.

Let me tell you something, I feel groovy now.

That was probably--

I'm so proud of myself.

If we can do that, we can do anything.

In my top three greatest accomplishments.

Making my debut in Formula , winning the Indianapolis ,

and accomplishing that task of--

African dancing--

African dancing and singing.

[festive music playing]

Woo!

Thank you.

OK, let's go.

- They could be right behind us. - Yeah, I know.

I know. I know.

[singing in shona]

[intense music playing]

You need to go tutor with him because you're way off b*at.

I-- I don't know how else to say it.

Just pay attention.

We can do it, Daniel.

We can get this. - Yeah.

MAN: Yeah.

You can do this, guys.

Yeah.

All right.

[singing in shona]

You're just not going to rehearse now?

You just don't want to rehearse?

God.

[intense music]

[singing in shona]

WOMAN: You just don't want to rehearse?

[suspenseful music]

- We'll just come right back. - Yup.

I mean, that's all we can do.

[intense music]

PHIL: Here you go, boys.

Here you go.

What's up?

Alex and Conner, you've survived

eight legs of "Amazing Race." - We survived.

We're on the podium.

That's a good one.

PHIL: And we have another team.

MAN: Yeah, it's here.

Henry and Evan, after surviving a U-turn,

I'm pleased to tell you that you are team number four.

A rough leg-- I mean, it's getting cutthroat now.

Definitely.

So you guys U-turned them.

It's just a race, man.

You got to do what you got to do.

Sure.

Do you want to know the reason?

It's because they're right here.

MAN: They're very good, yeah.

I mean, we had an opportunity.

And they've been, in our mind, one of the strongest teams.

We finished in fourth place today after getting U-turned.

It confirms what we already thought--

that we're a strong team that other people

want to get out of the race.

This leg demonstrates we have what it takes

to b*at these other teams.

So they should be worried.

I would say we're more determined, if anything.

[dramatic music]

We'll just keep trying.

[loud smooching]

[festive music playing]

[singing in shona]

[singing in shona]

[singing in shona]

They're good.

Thank you.

We got to get in on this one.

Thank you.

[inaudible]

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.

Thanks, man.

Appreciate it.

[singing in shona]

We got to find somebody to talk to.

Let's go out this entrance and then ask.

Woo!

Sorry to put you through that, guys.

Oh, my god, give us the right directions.

"Warning-- the last team to check in may be eliminated."

That might be us.

After the second car?

Yeah.

All right, go, go, go.

Never know, never know, never know.

Let's go.

Let's go.

Let's go.

All right, Eric.

We're good. We're good.

Go, go, go, go, go.

[suspenseful music]

I haven't seen it yet.

This has to be it, you know?

It's definitely in that area.

[dramatic music]

Cody and Jessica, you have survived.

Even a U-turn could not stop you today.

You were determined, and you've made it to the mat.

Pretty amazing.

That's incredible.

I can't believe it.

Well, I can believe it, because I've got a cyborg partner--

literally superhuman.

She's right there with me and correcting me

on most of my mistakes.

PHIL: Ah.

We went down dancing, Phil.

You went down dancing?

So we-- we figure we out of here.

Well, we are going to miss your smiling faces.

Unfortunately, you have been eliminated from the race.

It was a good run.

Yeah, we had a good time, man.

So our Achilles heel came, which was a--

Rhythm and singing.

Yeah.

So we didn't have rhythm, so now we got the blues.

[laughter]

I guess you're not singers or dancers.

Oh, no.

Or jewelers or printers.

[laughter]

We found a lot of things we can cross off our list, so.

We've got to go back to the firehouse, too.

Yeah.

This experience has been just a great experience.

We've just really enjoyed each other's company

and had some good times.

Yup.

MAN: [singing in shona]

[festive music playing]

[thunder rumbling]

[string music playing]

[music - "amazing race" theme]
