Middle-East Respiratory Syndrome, is a virus that usually presents with cold-like symptoms.

MERS is contagious... 15 blade.

Oh, great, thank you, Nurse.

And usually difficult to distinguish until it's got a firm grip on the patient.

Anna, I told you. It's incredible.

In this case, the virus has caused septicemia, which seeded Mr. Aaron's liver, which is why he has a large right lobe hepatic abscess on the dome.

I can't get to the abscess from this approach.

We're going to a skeleton crew.

The nurse who admitted your patient was found in the corridor.

She's exhibiting symptoms of MERS.

It takes two days for MERS to show up on the serum PCR, Dr. Shane. You know that.

We're still checking everyone's blood and swabbing them.

We have a MERS outbreak, and yet here we are, discussing Dr. Panttiere again.

Soliciting a medical trial on Craigslist?

Allowing Dr. Panttiere to conduct a highly successful trial.

Illegally breaking into West Side Medical to perform a robotic procedure.

Saving her patient's life, and the charges were dismissed.

Performing an unsuccessful human-to-chimpanzee heart transplant on a lab animal that was stolen by an animal rights group.

Yeah, that's a hard one, actually.

Every time that Dr. Panttiere becomes involved in anything, our public relations department becomes very busy warding off negative press.

And we are in the middle of a MERS outbreak.

I've called for an infectious disease conference with the CDC, and I'm late for it already.

But I can assure you, I have everything under control.

Can you assure me that Dr. Panttiere isn't involved in the CDC investigation?

We want this resolved as quickly and quietly as possible.

Now, so far the two EMTs that drove the index patient to St. Matthew's are showing no symptoms.

We're waiting for her family to fly in so we can get permission to do an autopsy and determine the exact cause of death.

She got sick so quickly.

Now, we don't know the underlying causes that may have compromised her immune system.

What if it's not MERS?

Ji-Sung's fever's up.

We are monitoring everyone for any changes.
