Grew up right here in Wilkes-Barre.

He worked as a shift supervisor
at a chemical plant

until May of this year.

That's when the virus hit.

He and Kyle both got screwed
by the pandemic.

If he's local, he knows the roads.

Shortcuts, hiding places.
He have a criminal record?

Not even a parking ticket.

The only thing is,

is point-of-sale background check

at a local g*n shop.

He bought an AR- ,

a Glock -millimeter handgun,
and a big haul of a*mo.

- First week of October.

Well, something triggered him.

That's when the k*lling spree
started coming into focus.

I found the name of the
chemical plant where he worked,

and an address for an apartment
in Miners' Mills.

former employer can tell us?

[SIGHS] I changed the locks
a few months ago.

He was five months behind on the rent.

You know that's illegal, right?

Folger lost his job
because of the pandemic.

he brings a teenage boy here
to live with him.

Looks like Folger was living off

Folger was an everyman who was
getting pushed over the edge.

This must have been where Kyle stayed.

I got some Intel from Clinton
about Folger.

His former boss said he worked
there for about ten years

before he had to let him go
'cause the plant shut down.

- The virus?

Also, his marriage ended a year ago.

Apparently Folger was really
pissed off about that.

Guess his ex-wife decided
she didn't wanna be with

a blue-collar guy
working the night shift,

so she left him for a finance guy

who has a country club membership

and a house down in Miami.

First he loses his wife, then his job.

He's holed up in this shoebox
during the pandemic

with barely enough food to eat,
and the last insult hits.

He's homeless, and living out of his van.

That's when he goes to the g*n shop.

Exactly.

All that misery broke him,
and he wants somebody to pay.

Well, Folger and Kyle
each had their lives

destroyed by the pandemic
in totally different ways.

Now they're fueling
each other's disillusionment,

their rage.

They latched onto each other

when there was nothing else left.

The perfect storm.

Yeah.

These are good.

Kid definitely has some artistic talent.

An alien abduction scenario.

It takes a lot of time and commitment

to make something like this.

Oh, my God, it's happening again.

Lakeview Marina and east Wilkes-Barre.

in a mass-casualty sh**ting there.

for the surrounding area, and are warning

both motorists and pedestrians

I'm thinking that Folger's
the one who's driving this.

He's smart, and he's careful.

He's the one who's gonna make a mistake.

He doesn't have any family
in the area to reach out to.

knew more about me than my mom and dad.

The last time I saw Kyle
was in my art class,

the day they shut the schools down.

pulled some strings

to unseal the paperwork
on Kyle's juvie arrest.

He was busted for shoplifting
art supplies.

Following his passion.

His mother encouraged it. He lost her.

His father ridiculed him.
He reverted to stealing.

An alien abduction...

The creature at the end
of the story is a female.

Maternal representation.

It's as if the boy who's
transported to the spacecraft

is being welcomed back into the womb.

This is a child longing for his mother,

like Tali after Angelyne passed.

Kyle's juvie report lists his
dead mother as Lisa Calhoun,

not Lisa Dennison.

Calhoun was her maiden name.

The "L.C." in the heart
on the sidewalk is his mom?

Kyle hated his father so much

he refused to pin
the Dennison surname on her

when he gave his family
information to the police.

We have a kid with a mommy problem.

I think I know someone
who might be able to reach him.

This is gonna be broadcast live

and then replayed on the news

in the hope that he sees it
and he responds to you.

I don't know what to say to him.
