-Youwanted to see me, Father?
- Yes, Adam.

I want you to see these figures
I just got. Very gratifying.

I knew those Colbyco stockholders
would come around.

According to the last reports,
they were deserting in droves.

Well, I'm offering them $ a share
for stock that's listed at .

They'd be fools not to sell.

You went up to ?

Mm-hm.

How much is this gonna cost you
in the long run?

By the time I'm through,
it could cost a fortune,

but it will be worth it
because I'll have Colbyco

and I'll have Alexis.

Father, are you sure this is
the wisest way to go about this?

I know what I'm doing, Adam.
We can't miss.

The debt you're incurring
is enormous.

I think it's dangerous.

You were all for this takeover
at the board meeting.

I still am. I'm also urging caution.

Caution is for street signs, son.
Caution never won a w*r.

I hope you're not letting
your antagonism towards Mother

cloud your judgement.

This is between me
and your mother.

And I'll worry about my judgement.

So much for my concerned opinion.

Wait.

Yes. Yes, the debt is enormous.

But our South China Sea leases

are going to be
an endless source of income.

And they'll more than cover the debt
should there be one.

Nothing is going to change that.

Well done, George.

I'll get those figures to the Chinese
as soon as possible.

And Tell Minister Han I want to meet
with him in Hong Kong in a few days.

[CHUCKLES]

It's happening, Ben.
It's all happening.

I cannot wait to see Blake's face

when he sees
his new oil production figures.

What happens if he discovers
you've doctored them?

My brother's a smart man.

He's not as smart as I am.

I am going to double-cross
Blake Carrington

Iike no man has ever been
double-crossed before.

He's going to lose everyhing.

Are you so sure about that?

I'm gonna mark the date
in my calendar.

In one week,
I am going to own percent

of the most valuable oil leases
in the world.

And after that
I am going to own Denver-Carrington.

Well, we'll celebrate together.

- Will we?
- Yeah.

A ton of caviar, your favourite kind,
and that'll only be the appetiser.

Tell me something, Ben.

What are you really after?

What kind of question is that?

You're certainly not staying
in Denver

because it's more exciting than Rio
or Paris. You're worth a fortune now.

You could go anywhere you want,
do anything you want.

But I wouldn't be near you,
for one thing.

What?

For another, I wouldn't be able to split
those oil leases with you.

Split them? You must be joking.

Consider the facts, Alexis.

This whole thing started
when you came to get me in Australia.

None of it would have happened
without me.

And your phoney-figure scheme

wouldn't stand a chance
with the Chinese

if it weren't for the damage we did
to Blake's good name at the trial.

We did, together.

You and l.

So you owe me, Alexis.

Oh, no, Ben.

Oh, no.
I don't owe you a damned thing.

One hundred
and twenty-five million dollars.

One quarter of your father's estate.

That was our bargain, and now
we're even, as far as I'm concerned.

I may be into a lot of things,

but charity to you
is definitely not one of them.

[SPEAKS lN
FORElGN LANGUAGE]

What the hell was that all about,
Dexter?

It was just Chinese for
"Watch out, bandit,"

You apparently understood.

I did not. It just startled me.

Bartender, I'll take a beer.

So, uh, Alexis found you
down in Australia.

- How long you live down there?
- What business is it of yours?

Look, Carrington,
I asked you something.

I just want an answer.
I'd rather not make a scene.

Twenty years, give or take.

And don't try to thr*aten me, Dexter.
The scene might backfire on you.

Twenty years.

How many trips, uh, did you make
from Australia over to China?

- What?
- You heard me.

I told you, I recognised you
from somewhere, Carrington.

The little map in my head,
it says Shanghai, the port area.

You know something, Dexter?

I think that little map in your head
is like the eggs I had for breakfast.

Scrambled.

So Ben Carrington reminds you
of a Caucasian male,

blond, blue-eyed,
whom you met in China once.

And who could either be American
or British or possibly Scandinavian,

and who is obviously a figment
of your vivid imagination.

It was Carrington, Alexis.

What exactly
are you accusing him of?

Of lying to me today.

Of maybe lying to you
these past few weeks.

Of possibly being up to something

that's gonna get you in trouble
of some kind.

How dramatic.
What a pity that my sister isn't here.

She could write another piece
of trashy fiction about it.

Be careful of him.

Wary, watchful, suspicious.

The way I wasn't about you.

Look, I already told you
that thing with Amanda was a mistake.

A mistake? It was a stiletto, Dex,

and you'll never know
how much it hurt me.

But I decided
that you just weren't worth the pain.

In fact, none of my ex-husbands
have been worth a damn.

And as for Ben Carrington,

I'm perfectly capable of doing
character analysis without your help.

So everyhing's just fine?
New romance and all?

There isn't a new romance.
We're just business partners.

And, yes, everyhing's just fine.

Somehow I just don't believe that.
On either count.

I know you, Alexis.

No, you don't, Dex.
I intend to keep it that way.

[SlGHS]

Just be careful of him.

The guy's trouble.

Just as soon as I buy up
enough Colbyco stock,

and that's gonna be very soon,

I'm gonna have Alexis right where
I want her, in the street.

Blake.

Is there any way this can fail?

Something Alexis can do?

I mean, she's not blind
to what's going on.

She's probably sitting up nights trying
to figure out ways of fighting you.

Krystle, darling,
everyhing is going to be fine.

Believe me.

[KNOCKlNG ON DOOR]

Excuse me, Mr. Carrington.
This cable just arrived.

- Oh, thank you, Gerard.
GERARD: Will that be all?

Yes, thank you.

From China. Minister Han.

What is it?

"Urgent. Reports of discrepancies
in your royalty payments

on the oil leases
has come to our attention.

Please come to Hong Kong
immediately,

where we will meet to discuss
the above. Minister Han,"

Discrepancies in the payments?

Now, what the devil
could he mean by that?

Are you insinuating
that I had something to do with this?

That's exactly what I'm doing.

[ALEXlS SCOFFS]

I know you're up to something.

What kind of a dirty trick
are you pulling this time?

I'm not up to any dirty tricks.

And may I remind you, that since
I own percent of those oil leases,

why would I wanna put them
in jeopardy?

Knowing you,
to get the other percent.

Oh, that's absurd.

If there are any discrepancies
in the royalty payments,

I can only assume
that it's due to Denver-Carrington's

usual slackness and inefficiency.

Which, of course, will all change
when I take over the company.

No. No, no, Alexis, the takeover's
going to be in the other direction.

It won't be too long
before we'll have Colbyco,

and high on my list of assets
will be the fact

that I'll never have to deal
with you again.

Now, I don't know what this is about,

but I'll clear it up just as soon
as I have my meeting with Mr. Han.

Uh, don't bother to see me out.

This is Mrs. Colby.
There's been a change of plan.

I want you to have my plane ready
for takeoff to Hong Kong tonight.

Yes, you heard me correctly.
Tonight.

These figures on how much oil
Blake Carrington has been pumping

out of the South China Sea,
you say they're false?

Yes.

I hate to say this about somebody
that I have to do business with,

but the other document represents
the accurate figures.

Why should I believe any of this,
Mrs. Colby?

You do realise you are accusing
the man of cheating my government

out of millions of dollars of royalties.

Yes, I certainly do,

but you have just said
the operative word, cheating.

Meaning exactly?

Here's a transcript of the trial

that Blake Carrington
was recently involved in,

in which the judge ruled
that he had cheated his own brother

out of his inheritance.

And he was also implicated
in his mother's death,

which he had blamed on his brother
for years.

It's all there for you to read.

Including the fact that Blake was found
guilty of the most flagrant lies.

So do you still question the accuracy
of my figures?

[SlGHS]

I've always known Blake Carrington
to be a man of total honour

and, frankly, this news disturbs me.

Oh, well, I can understand that
because it disturbs me too.

After all,
he is the father of my children.

But we are talking about
a huge business venture

between our two countries, in which
there are major financial stakes.

I cannot possibly stand by
and see your country swindled.

If this is all true,
what do you propose, Mrs. Colby?

Simply this.

Since I already own percent
of the South China Sea oil leases,

if you gave me full control,
I will see that the fraud is corrected.

"Simply this"?

Nothing in life is really that simple,
is it?

Not in your country, nor in mine.

But I thank you for bringing
this situation to my attention.

And I'll consider your request.

Thank you, minister.
You've been most gracious.

I know that this has been as difficult
for you as it has for me.

This has probably been one
of the most important trips of my life.

Goodbye.

- Dad?
- Yes?

Before you leave for the airport,
I need your help.

- What is it, Steven?
- When you put me on your board,

you gave me carte blanche
to do a full financial review, right?

Right. Why? Some problems?

No, no, it's just that
a few departments' expenditures

are way up from last year
and I wanna know why.

Well, what's stopping you?

[SlGHS]

Certain elements here
at Denver-Carrington

aren't exactly cooperating.

"Certain elements"? Who?

That's not really important.
I just need--

It is to me. Who?

Adam is one of them.

Adam?

And who else?

I asked you a question, Steven.

It's-- It's only Adam.

Did he say
why he wasn't cooperating?

No. No, he just refused
to let me see certain files

and we had words about it.

My God, when are you two
gonna learn to live together

and work together?

Now, son, this may be nothing at all,

but when I get back, I'll have a talk
with your brother about this.

But, in the meantime,
you do what you feel is right.

As a matter of fact, I'll back you up.

I'll write a memo saying
that you have access to all the files.

Every one of them.

Good. Thank you, I appreciate it.

I, uh, hope your trip goes well,

and that you get the situation
in Hong Kong straightened out.

- I'm sure we will.
- Okay.

- Bye-bye. See you in a couple of days.
- All right.

Whoa.

Hey, Greg, let's take a break, okay?

- Amanda.
- Hi, Clay.

- Who are you playing tennis with?
- I just played with Kate Burroughs

- and she b*at me in a tiebreaker.
- Ha.

You look good.

I feel good. In fact, I feel very good.

You'll never know how happy I am

that your mother was able to get to you
before...

Before what?

Well, I'm just glad
that you're back in the world again.

And I'm sorry I hadn't sensed
how much trouble you were in

the night before.

- I didn't.
- Look, Clay, you did try and help me.

It's just that I wasn't very receptive.

But I don't want people feeling sorry
for me anymore.

If I've learned anything
from this experience,

it's that pity can't give me strength.

That has to come from inside.

- It's funny.
- What is?

I told Sammy Jo
that you'd learn from the experience.

And you have.

- Sammy Jo?
- Yeah.

Is she the one
who told you about me?

Well, yeah.
She thought I'd wanna know.

Oh, she thought you'd want to know.
I see.

Clay, would you excuse me?
I've gotta go.

What--?

I want an explanation
on this latest feed bill.

You could have gotten it
for percent less

if you bought it from the people
my father used to deal with.

I'll call you back.

My maid said you phoned. You said
you weren't gonna be here till .

Well, I hope I'm not interrupting
your snack

or your big business dealing.

What is it, Amanda?

I don't appreciate your telling Clay
Fallmont about what happened to me.

The pills.

I'm sorry, Amanda.
I shouldn't have opened my mouth.

- You damned well know it.
- I said, I'm sorry.

Well, from what I've heard,
Sammy Jo,

there's a big risk in believing
anything you say.

Just let me make it clear. What I do
with my life is my personal business.

Oh, could that personal business be

a good-looking guy
named Clay Fallmont?

Tell me something, Amanda,

would you have come here at all
if I had told some Joe Doe

about what happened and not Clay?

That is what's bothering you, isn't it?
I just told the wrong guy.

Clay Fallmont has absolutely nothing
to do with this.

Look, I might have been born
dirt poor,

but it seems like
a senator's son prefers me

over born-rich types like you,

so I'm riding high, Amanda.

Or heading for a fall, Sammy Jo.

Look, I've got work to do
so there's the door.

I'd like to speak to Clay Fallmont,
please.

- What the hell are you doing?
- You saw the memo from Dad.

I have access to all
Denver-Carrington files,

including yours.

That memo read "employees' files,"
Steven.

I'm a vice-president here,
so hands off.

Tell me something.
If you had grown up in this family,

instead of coming into it so late,
would you still be so devious?

[CHUCKLES]

Meaning, would I otherwise
be a stalwart

and upright character like you,

who sets his father
against his brother?

I'm doing no such thing.
Those purchase orders don't add up.

If you have nothing to worry about,
give me the information.

- Straighten me out.
- You listen to me, Steven.

Denver-Carrington is my turf,
not yours.

And until Father gets back
from Hong Kong to tell me personally

that you can see whatever you want
in this office,

you're gonna have to wait.

Why don't we call him up right now?

Oh, for God's sake, Steven.

He's got more important business
on his mind

than your concerns and suspicions
about a few files

or one or two irregularities,
so-called.

You're hiding something
and I don't know what it is

but I'll find out, eventually.

Meg, there are some papers
I've got to shred.

Is the room open?

Thank you.

The roses may be courtesy
of the hotel

but the orchids are from me.

Surprised to see me, Alexis?

Nothing you do surprises me, Ben.

What are you doing in Hong Kong?

Well, I need a new wardrobe.
What better place to get one?

[ALEXlS LAUGHS]

Really?

I'd like to know
what you're really doing here.

He who is not jealous is not in love.

In case you haven't noticed,
I'm in love with you, Alexis.

Ha. And you're telling me
that you're jealous? Of whom?

Your friend, Mr. Liu.

[LAUGHS]

I overheard.

The day you phoned him
in San Francisco,

I got the feeling
you were intimating a favour

in return for setting up a meeting
with the Chinese oil minister.

What's his name?

His name is none of your business.

Well, anyway,
the thought of you and Mr. Liu together

bothered me enough to send me
halfway around the world.

That is a lot of bother.

And a lot of love.

I always have loved you, Alexis,
and you know it.

Ben, look, I know that you had
a teenage crush on me years ago

when I married Blake and
you were jealous then, but Mr. Liu?

I just don't buy that.

Anyway, I'm rather tired
and I'd like to go to my room

and, uh, I think you'd better
go to yours.

I presume you do have a room
at this hotel.

I do, but I don't intend
to spend the night in it.

Then I don't really think
that you have a choice.

Unless you want to go to the harbour
and find yourself a berth on some junk.

Haven't you pretended long enough

that you don't want me
as much as I want you?

It's only a matter of time
before I get you.

Incredible.

I don't know where Minister Han got
his figures on the royalty payments,

but it doesn't make sense.
Here, take a look at this.

Those are Denver-Carrington figures.
Compare them with their figures.

At least you have the documentation
to prove that yours are accurate.

I'm just concerned that you have
to answer to the Chinese government.

Well, in this case,
the Chinese government boils down

to one man, Minister Han.

He happens to be
a very intelligent man.

I'm sure that he and I will he able
to straighten this out.

Well, I know Alexis denied
having anything to do with this

but we both know what that's worth.

[CHUCKLES]

Hello, this is Mrs. Carrington.
Has a Mrs. Colby checked in yet?

What are you doing?

I see. Thank you.

She's here, Blake.
She's in Hong Kong.

I knew she'd have a finger in the pie
somewhere.

I've gotta go, darling.
I've got that appointment with Mr. Han.

I'll see you some time this afternoon.

Goodbye.

I think I'll have a little talk
with Alexis.

[KNOCKlNG ON DOOR]

Come in.

Well, at breakfast already?

- Good morning.
- What's good about it?

I have a proposition to make to you,
Alexis.

Hmm. You made one last night.
I turned you down, remember?

You wouldn't be so edgy
if you'd taken me up on it.

I am not edgy.
I have a lot of things on my mind.

I wish you would stop thinking of me
as some sort of distraction.

What do you want to be then?
My business partner?

Isn't that part of your obsession
with me?

Look, I said it last night.
I'm in love with you.

- Oh.
- And I meant it.

But what if you and l
did become partners?

We'd make a world-class team.

Share the profit as well
as the problems. No, thank you.

Colbyco is doing very nicely
with just one person running it, me.

Consider this, Alexis.

The two of us setting up
a new company.

I'll put in my million,
you put in whatever you think is fair,

and we'll work together.

[LAUGHS]

You never give up, do you?

No, I am cured of business
partnerships with men, forever.

You can thank Dex Dexter
and your dear brother for that.

As you can see, sir,
those figures are correct.

And they're substantiated
by your own reports.

Then how do you account
for the discrepancies, Mr. Carrington?

We all have enemies, Mr. Han.
I have several.

I can only assume that one of them
falsified those reports.

Someone who is out to get you.

That is the expression, huh?

Yes.

I'll have to consider that possibility,
of course.

Just, uh, as I'll have to be very honest
with you right now, Mr. Carrington.

Those figures are not the only reason
I have to see you.

There's another matter
I have to know more about.

And what might that be?

The legal matter brought against you
by your brother.

As we understand it,

you were convicted in a court of law
for cheating your brother,

as well as abandoning your mother,
leaving her to die.

Mr. Han, those accusations
were lies.

I didn't say
that I personally believed them.

Yes, but you do feel
that it might affect our deal.

Is that what you're trying to say, sir?

As you know, we here in Asia
value honour very highly.

We have to consider
the man's character

as well as his skills
when choosing a partner.

Now, those are
very serious charges.

Mr. Han, my brother and my ex-wife

both perjured themselves in that
courtroom for their own rotten gain.

Now, sir, I've spent a lifetime
establishing a business

based on integrity, on principle,
on honour, on truth.

I've tried to inculcate those principles
in my children as well.

And no one, not you,
not your government,

no one has the right
to question my character.

Go on, Mr. Carrington.

I'm ready to hear whatever proof
you have in your defence.

These are lovely.

And one of a kind.

You will not find another strand like it
in all the world.

Hmm. Thank you.

I'll leave you to decide.

Well, well, what a coincidence.

The two of us in Hong Kong,
in the same shop, at the same time.

Coincidence? I've been looking
all over Hong Kong for you.

Oh, yes, to tell me that your husband's
got a problem. So I've heard.

Oh, I'll bet you did more
than just hear, Alexis.

I think you're behind it.

[SlGHS]

Look, if Blake's been cheating
the Chinese, don't accuse me.

All I'm doing is looking out
for my leases.

And for no other reason?

Well, to do some shopping, naturally.

You're not going to hurt Blake,
Alexis.

No matter how hard you try,
you're not.

You know, I'm really not sure
about these pearls.

They're so dowdy.

They might look good on you.

But then again, where would you
wear them after Blake goes broke?

To a cafeteria?

Damn.

You know that old saying, Alexis:

"You break them, you bought them,"

What a perfect picture.
Pearls before swine.

- And I'm sure you'd like flowers, right?
- Like flowers?

That night, I want that room filled
with flowers, all colours,

the happiest ones you can find.

Of course, Miss Deveraux.

And congratulations to you
and Mr. Boydston

from all of us here at La Mirage.

How nice. Thank you very much.

My pleasure.

- Jackie.
- Hello, Mother.

I have hardly seen you since our--

Disagreement.

I guess I needed time to think
about some things.

I wanna apologise for the way
I've been acting.

I owe you an apology too, Jackie.

For all the heartache
that I have caused you.

My father was married
to somebody else.

What else could you do?

I just--

I didn't know how to explain it to you
when you were a little girl.

And then the years passed

- and I still found it difficult to explain.
- I know. I know.

What matters now is that you
and Garrett are going to be engaged.

And we can all be together.

My mother, my father, and me.

It's so wonderful.
I can hardly believe it.

It is wonderful, darling,
and you believe it.

You believe every word of it.

[SAMMY JO & CLAY LAUGH]

There.

Plenty of whipped cream.

Well, at least try it.

Well, I'm sure it's very good,
Sammy Jo,

but somehow a banana split

after a four-course meal,

I'm stuffed.

Well, next time
I'll order a lighter meal.

I guess I was sort of uncertain.

Nervous, I mean,
about playing hostess.

You're a terrific hostess.

And there's nothing
to be nervous about.

Thanks.

Here. Now for some brandy.

- On the rug?
- Yeah.

It's kind of chilly.
I thought it'd be nice by the fire.

I think we should drink
to a very special evening.

- For me, at least.
- Mm, me too.

- Cheers.
- Cheers--

- Oh, my-- Oh, I'm so sorry.
- Ha, ha.

- It's all right.
- I'm--

No, it isn't. Look at your shirt.

I'm sorry.

- See, I told you I was nervous tonight.
- Well, you shouldn't be.

In fact,
what you should be is yourself.

- What do you mean, myself?
- Just that.

You are a beautiful girl
with a good mind

who is a lot of fun
when she's not nervous, okay?

So just relax.

But your shirt. It's wet.

So let's hang it up to dry.

It's very good to see you again,
my friend.

- You're looking very fit.
- Heh, heh.

And you don't look a day older
than you did when I worked for you.

[BOTH LAUGH]

Ah, Mr. Carrington,
you did more than work for us.

You were our consultant when
we found oil in the South China Seas.

We would have never known about
those deposits if it weren't for you.

Well, I had a job to do. I did it.

- Now sit, sit.
- Thank you.

I understand you met with my brother,
Blake.

Yes. I, uh, heard his side
of the story.

I found him to be very sincere.

The word is "desperate," minister.

What do you mean?

Well, that his sincerity
is about as shallow as he is.

The true story is a--

Oh, it's a horrible story.

The shame of our family that
I've had to cover up all these years.

But, finally,
I was forced to tell the truth

about how my brother was responsible
for our mother's death.

Then you apparently agree
with Mrs. Colby

that Blake Carrington isn't morally fit
to control the leases, true?

- That's right.
- Ah.

However, I thought
you might be interested in this.

It's about Alexis Colby.

Now, I hate to bring this up
about Mrs. Colby

because she is
an extraordinary woman.

But this is a chapter from a book
written by her sister.

It brings to light some interesting
personal facts about the lady.

It may surprise you,
even dismay you,

but, well, I feel you're entitled
to know the truth.

Cancelled? Well, he can't cancel
his appointment with me.

[SlGHS]

Well, when can we reschedule?

Well, call me the moment he's free.

It's essential that I meet with him
as quickly as possible.

Thank you.

I thought everyhing was settled.

Han seems to be avoiding me
for some reason.

- Blake?
- I don't know.

But somebody's obviously got to him.

Otherwise, why would he be taking
so long to make up his mind?

[SPEAKS lN
FORElGN LANGUAGE]

- Ha. What?
- Well, that means, loosely:

"He's the boss here. His privilege,"

[SlGHS]

I didn't know you spoke Chinese.

Oh, a word here, two words there.
I worked with some Chinese people

on a mineral rights deal in Australia
a few years ago.

You never told me that.

You never asked.

There are so many things
I don't know about you, Ben.

For example, how easily you lied
on that stand.

It's a gift we both share.

Hmm.

Now we have a dinner date.
By my watch, it's exactly : , so...

I really don't feel
like having dinner tonight.

I really have to wait
for that phone call.

Well, I'll just have to eat on my own.

Everyhing's gonna work out fine,
Alexis.

Trust me.

Trust you?

Well, well.

As brothers, I guess we have
the same taste in travel, don't we?

If you think I'm all that surprised,
I'm not.

We discovered
Alexis was in the hotel.

I knew that we'd find you
crawling around here somewhere.

The way I hear it,
you're the one who's crawling, Blake.

To the Oil Ministry,
begging to keep those leases.

It doesn't fit with the well-known
Blake Carrington image, does it?

Then again, things change.
Fortunes change.

I want you to know this
and remember it:

Your filthy lies may have followed me
these , miles

but you're not gonna get what
you're after. You're not gonna get

that revenge
that you're so desperate for.

Never.

I don't know what the hell
you're talking about.

I've gotten what I wanted.

My million.

I'm just here in Hong Kong
looking for some deals I can invest in.

Have you decided on anything,
Mrs. Carrington?

Yes, I think I'll take the mink,

and I'll take the full-length fox
and the sable,

and the three jackets, the chinchilla,
the lynx and the ermine.

That's three coats and three jackets?

I believe that's what I said, yes.

Along with the chinchilla muff
and the two Persian lamb ski hats?

Are you in the business of counting
or are you in the business of selling?

Has Blake Carrington been in here
talking to you about me?

Why, no, of course not.

Have any of the other Carringtons
been in here?

Is that why you're so uninterested
in selling to me?

Mrs. Carrington,
I think you've misunderstood.

I didn't mean anything like that.

I know exactly what you meant.
I'm not a fool.

And I'm very good at sensing hostility
where I find it.

I'm sorry.

I think we both got a little out of hand.
I'm glad we understand each other.

Just send the bill to my husband,
Adam Carrington.

I heard about
your little shopping spree today.

Why should I pay for all this?

Because, technically,
we're still married.

And because I had to put up with you
and all of your lies,

so you owe me.

Oh, Claudia,
is this how it is with you?

Going from one of us to the other,

staying with whoever is stupid enough
to pay your bills?

Not anymore.

I'm finished with all of the Carringtons
now that I have my well.

I wouldn't count on living off my profits
if I were you.

Don't you thr*aten me, Adam.

You can't take it back.
I still have a w*apon over you.

Take it?
I wouldn't take it as a present.

And in case you haven't checked
your production yet,

your well is drying up.

Much like this conversation.

It can't be.

Yes. Let me speak
to Blake Carrington.

No, when he gets back to town
it'll be soon enough.

Mm-hm.

Yes.

Look, Sam,
we've gotta leave for the airport.

Yes. We're going back
to Denver tonight.

Now, you call me there
when you hear from Mr. Han.

No, no.
No, everyhing is gonna be just fine.

Right. Bye.

Blake, is everyhing going to be fine?

Yes. Yes, it is.

Darling, you don't have to be optimistic
for me.

Are we leaving Hong Kong
without definite word from Mr. Han?

I can only tell you what he said.

That I would get my answer
in due time.

Which means that
I have no alternative. I have to wait.

And I thought it'd be better to wait
in Denver than here.

Besides, I'm convinced that everyhing
is going to work out perfectly.

And as for you,

I want you to stop worrying about me,
do you hear?

All right. Just don't yell at me.

Okay.

I love you very much.

And you have my word
and my kiss on that.

I still haven't heard from Han.
Something is definitely wrong.

Nothing is wrong. Look at this.

It's a news story
the Oil Ministry's releasing in hours.

Well, this is in Chinese.

Oh, then let me translate it for you.

Well, it seems, Alexis,

that they're cancelling
all the South China Sea oil leases

- that belong to you and Blake--
- What?

--and giving them
to somebody named...

Well, what do you know?

Ben Carrington.

Damn you, Ben.
You've double-crossed me.

Damn you. Nobody does that to me.
Nobody.

Alexis, just calm down
and listen to me. Listen to me.

Now, I offered to split them with you.

You refused me. I had to do something
in my own interests.

- Well, undo them.
- Just listen, I haven't finished yet.

Now, what would you say if I were to
give you percent of those leases?

I'd say that you were a thief.
Those were my leases

- and you stole them from me.
- Twenty-five percent.

That's all you had to begin with, Alexis.
So you really haven't lost anything.

Besides, you could only love a man
who is as clever as you are.

Love you? I don't even like you,
let alone trust you.

Well, you better, because
you have a taste for blood, Alexis,

and so do l.

Blake's.

I'm gonna get you both,
you and your brother.

I'm gonna take you both down.
Believe me, I will.

I will.
