Not the best day
in the world to have fur!

-Even my lemonade is hot, and...

it has ice cubes in it.

It had ice cubes in it.

-Isn't this a beautiful day?

wild animals and we're in the-

Wow! It's hot out today!

-Hottest I've ever felt it.

-What kind of
game could we play when we
feel like we're melting?

Laundry day wasa very
busy day in Caillou's house

It was a good feeling.

Caillou
thought if he was big enough
to help Mom do the laundry,

he was big enough
to get dressed by himself.

There was only one problem.

He'd brought
all his clothes downstairs,
so he had nothing to wear.

-Oh, no!

-Caillou.

Shhh.

You'll wake Rosie.

Why are you in your underpants?

-I don't have any clothes.

-That can't be right.
You have tons of clothes.

Goodness. You're right.

I know. We can play a game.

You can dress up.

-I can't wear
grown up clothes Daddy.

Daddy were having a party.

party for grown-ups.

It's not for children
and it'll be happening
way past your bedtime.

-But I want to come!

-Caillou felt left out because
the grown ups were having

a party and that
he couldn't be there.

-Well, I think
we've got everything we need
for the party, don't you?

-Yes, Daddy.

-But I just can't help thinking
we forgot something important...

-Hmm...

-...what could it be?

-I know! Mommy wanted flowers!

-That's it!

Do you want to chose
the flowers Caillou?

-How about these?

Mommy will like these.

-Yes she will.

It will make the house look
pretty for the guests tonight.

-Whose coming Daddy?

-We've invited a few friends
over for a supper party.

-Can I invite my friends too?

-No, Caillou, not tonight.

Besides, you won't
have any fun at this party.

-Caillou didn't
understand how Mommy and Daddy's
party wouldn't be any fun.

Parties are always fun!

remembered the flowers!

-I remembered them, Mommy!

Can you help me
put them in the vase?

-Caillou thought the guests
had arrived for the party.

-Hi, Caillou!

Caillou's baby-sitter.

I'm going to give you and Rosie
your supper andput you to bed.

-I don't want to go to bed!

put your pajamas on, please.

-Caillou doesn't want
to get into his pajamas.

He wants to stay
up and go to the party.

-Hi, great to

being left out of the party.

you put your pajamas on,

-OK, Mommy.

-Caillou came to say good night.

-Caillou tried to go to sleep...
but he was just too curious

all the excitement downstairs
to keep his eyes closed.

-Caillou couldn't see the
party very well from the stairs.

He wanted a closer look.

-I thought you were
supposed to be in bed.

-But I can't
sleep. It's too noisy.

-Big boys can sleep
even when it's a little noisy.

Why don't we
give it another try.

-Okay, Daddy.

-Caillou
suddenly remembered he'd
left his dinosaur downstairs.

-Caillou! You know you're
not supposed to be up this late!

-But I forgot my dinosaur!

Mommy... Are you going
to play games at your party?

-What kind of games
do you think we should play?

-Face-painting!

-That would
be funny, wouldn't it?

Now Caillou, you really
must go to sleep. I mean it.

-OK, Mommy.

Ahhhhh...

-You look sleepy Caillou.

Well, that's what happens
when you stay up late.

-Look, I'm not sleepy anymore.

Can I stay up late tonight?

I think it's going to be an
early night for all of us!

-My
game, pretending I'm cool, is
working on this really hot day!

Oh! See the snowflakes.
I should get my shovel.

-Heat waves. I see heat
waves rising up from the garden.

-Brrrr. Whoa! That's
a cold wind! Brrr.

-Huh?

-Okay, that does it!

Anything on this
hot day is worth a try.

-I should get my coat,
I'm turning into an icicle!

-Me too!

-It'll never work,
it's just too hot.

A hot chocolate would
go well with this freezing day.

hot a hot chocolate is?

-Caillou was helping his
Mommy prepare a picnic lunch.

-Yummy!

-He and his Mommy
were going on a picnic with
Clementine and her Mommy.

-I think we have
enough celery, Caillou.

Why don't you
decorate the cupcakes.

Look Mommy, I'm making
a cupcake for Clementine.

I made a face.

-Caillou!

You won't be hungry
if you keep eating like that.

You won't be able
to eat your picnic lunch.

I made the picnic with my Mommy!

I made the picnic

Here Caillou, I made a special
sandwich for you all by myself.

Mommy, Caillou's not
eating his special sandwich.

-Why aren't you eating Caillou?

-I'm not very hungry.

Clementine play for a while?

You two can eat later.

You want to play hide and seek?

-No. I want to play tag.

-While Caillou and
Clementine were playing tag,

they forgot
all about the picnic.

-I'm gonna get you!

What are you
looking at, Caillou?

-Look, Clementine, squirrels!

Quick! Let's follow them!

-Looks like we're going
to have to big hungry squirrels

running back to our picnic.

-Mommy, look!

-Why look at that!

This squirrel is gathering
nuts for the winter.

-Why does he have big cheeks?

-He's putting the
nuts in his cheeks and then

he's going to store them
in his house for the winter.

-Anybody home?

You want to see
the squirrel's house?

The coast is clear.

-Yes.

-Caillou was amazed to
see that the squirrel's house

was filled with so many nuts.

-I'm hungry, Mommy!

-I'm hungry too!

Mmm, this is yummy!

I made this for you.

-Mmmmm, I love cupcakes!

-Now that Caillou
had his appetite back,

he thought this was the best
tasting picnic he'd ever had.

I'm playing a game
to keep cool, swimming!

-Diedi! Get out of the water!
It's too cold to swim today!

-Huh?

-Hi Rexy! Hi everybody!

You should come in,
the water is nice and cool.

-I don't get it.

-I wonder if it's the
heat that's making them so.

-Heat?

I'm freezing.

-Come in the water and warm up.

You're right, it's beautiful.

Gilbert, Teddy, come for a swim!

-I think it's mind over matter.

That's what
they're trying to do.

down I'm ready for bed.

This is a special day!

We're going to the reptile zoo!

I don't think I'd
ever touch that spider!

I loved seeing
the reptiles today.

And I couldn't
help but dream about

what exciting things
I'd do the next day.

Those two must be crazy swimming
on such a chilly day. Brrrrr.

-A good soak in
a cold tub sounds perfect.

It would certainly
cool down all this stuffing.

-No, come on in,
the water is beautiful!

-I can feel the cool
water cooling my toes.

And my tummy!

-Yes... of course, we
cats aren't that fond of water.

-Quite right.

-But today could
be an exception.

-It'll cool
you down in a second.

-It's the perfect
day for it! Come on in.

-Oh, why not?

-Well, I can think
of a hundred reasons why
not, being a cat and all,

but today...

Here I come.

-Caillou.

It's time for your bath.

I'm serious Caillou. I'm not
gonna to play games with you.

-Caillou didn't want a bath.

-Where is he?

I wonder where that boy can be.

Where's Caillou?

Ah ha!

There you are. Come
on Caillou, it's bath time.

-I don't want to take a bath.

It's too hot Mommy.

-OK...

-It's too cold Mommy.

Oooof.

-And where do you think
you're going young man?

-I'm going to play.

-You can play later, it's bath
time now you have to keep clean.

-I don't want to be clean.

No!

Clean's no fun.

-Let's add some bubble bath.

-No!

-It certainly couldn't hurt.

What do you say to
some funny bubbles Caillou?

-No!

-Give me your hand.

-Doesn't that look like fun?

-Suddenly, Caillou
wanted to have his duckie

and he remembered he'd
left him in Rosie's room.

-Oh no. Not again.

Caillou come back here.

-My Duckie.

Duckie makes bubbles,
lots of bubbles.

Big bubbles.

-Maybe this could
help you make more.

-Caillou
had discovered that bath
time could also be play time.

He'd discovered
how to make bubbles.

-Look at me. I
can make lots of bubbles.

Wheee.

-Hey where's Caillou?

-Here I am, it's me.

Where's my duckie?

Don't worry
duckie. I'll save you.

Mommy. Daddy. You're all wet.

-Caillou discovered that
bath time could be splash time.

-Okay, Caillou
time to get dried off.

-I don't want to.
I want play in the bath.

-Good... Then you'll want to
play in the bath tomorrow, too.

-Yes. Me and duckie
and a lot of bubbles.

-And that's how Caillou
got to love bath time.

-Let see how long we can
hold our breath under water.

-I didn't think
I could feel cool today,

but I feel quite wonderful
here in the water.

-Yes I hate to
admit it, but I do too.

-All this swimming is making
me think of something else.

-What?

-That I could really
use a drink of water.

-Me too! It's
really hot out there!

-Yeah!

O.K. Let's go.

-You know, when the person
who starts the game finishes it,

kind of makes you realize.

-Yeah... It's hot!

-Have Caillourrific day!

- ROSIE!

SHE'S MY BABY SISTER
AND I LOVE HER.

WE PLAY GAMES TOGETHER A LOT.

AND WE HAVE FUN.

I GET TO SHOW HER THINGS I LIKE,

AND SOMETIMES
I HELP TAKE CARE OF HER,

BECAUSE I'M HER BIG BROTHER.

YES! MY FAVORITE CAT!

HE'S THE ABSOLUTE BEST!

GILBERT IS SO SMART, HE
KNOWS ALMOST EVERYTHING.
