I'm on my way! ♪

both:
♪ How do they save the day? ♪

all: ♪ Well,
the scientific fact is ♪

all kinds of powers ♪

man: Practice!

[bell rings]

Mr. Sparks:
Hero Elementary,

the perfect place
for freeze training...

[ice crackles]

[both laughing]

Stretching routines...

♪ ♪

- [gasps]

Mr. Sparks:
And of course, gadget testing.

- Stand back, everyone.

I will now test
my latest gadget,

the size changer.

- Wow!

- Ooh-ooh-ooh!
- Whoa.

- Watch as I make
this apple bigger.

[heroic music]

[machine beeps and whirrs]

[zaps]
- Wh--w-wow!

- Whoa!
- That's amazing, AJ!

- [squeaking]

[squeaking happily]

- Wow, that's one big snack.

- Too big.

I'll make it smaller.
[zaps]

- [squeaks]
AJ: Oops!

I made it too small.
- It's adorable!

- [squeaks]
[chomping]

- I guess I need
a little more practice.

- All great heroes
need practice.

I'll get more apples.

- Hmm, what else
can I make big?

[pondering music]

- How 'bout something
really small?

[gasps]

Like a spider!

- [screams]

- [gasps]
- Oh, no!

[dramatic music]

- [squeaks]

- Whoa, what just happened?

Oof!

- Oh, no.

My size changer made us small.

♪ ♪

- [squeaks]

- Students!

Wh--where are they?
- [squeaks]

[squeaking explanatorily]

- Ah, maybe they went back
to the classroom.

- [squeaking groan]

♪ ♪

- What are we gonna do?

- We can fix this.
Right, AJ?

- Yes.

We just need to find
the size changer

so we can get back
to normal size.

[all gasping]

[dramatic musical sting]

Uh, finding it could be harder
than I thought.

- Hey, maybe we can use our...

all: Superpowers of Science!

- Let's start by observing.

Look around and see

if there's anything
that can help us.

Come on!

- Hmm.

All I see are tall weeds,
big rocks.

♪ ♪

And a giant ladybug!

[shudders]

- It's okay, AJ.
Ladybugs are super cool.

Look.

It has hidden wings!

- Ah!

- I bet it can see a lot
from up there.

- Hey, if I fly up there
like the ladybug,

maybe I can see
where the size changer is.

- Great idea!

- But you don't like
to fly high.

- Um, it's not too high.

It's just above the grass.

[adventurous music]

Whoa!

♪ ♪

I see it!

Right next to some flowers!
[gulps]

Just above the grass
is a lot higher than I thought.

Whoa!

- Oh, no!
- I got her, I got her!

- Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!
Oof!

- Gotcha!
- Thanks, Sara.

- Now let's go get
my size changer

so we can make ourselves
big again.

- It's over that way,

but there's a lot of things
between here and there.

- We got this.

After all, who's the crew
who knows what to do?

♪ ♪

all: Sparks' Crew
to the rescue!

♪ ♪

- To our own rescue!

- [laughs]
Let's go.

- [squeaks]
- Students!

Where are you?

- [squeaks]

- Oh, maybe they're playing
hide and seek with me.

[laughs]

Okay, class.

Come out,
come out, wherever you are!

[squeaks exasperatedly]

♪ ♪

- [gasps]
This way, team.

[all grunting]

- Whoa!

[cricket chirping]
- Hey, what's that sound?

- It's coming from...
[gasps]

In there.

[chirping gets louder]

It's getting louder.

[chirping continues]

- Ah!

Another kind of insect!

- [laughs]
A cricket!

They're so cool.
Check it out!

They rub their wings together
to make noise.

[cricket chirping]

- Ugh, it's too loud
when we're this small.

Ah.

- At least you can always
tell where they are.

[laughs]
Wow!

Crickets have
powerful legs too.

- [shouting] Whoa!
They can jump really high.

Like you, Benny!
- Oh, hey.

Yeah.

Hup!
Look at me.

Aw, yeah!
I'm a cricket.

[imitates chirping]

[laughs]
Cricket, cricket!

- [squeaks]

[cricket chirps]

- [laughing]

- [squeaks]

[squeaks]

[curious music]

[squeaks questioningly]

[all laughing]

- Hoppity hop!

♪ ♪

Benny: I can see the flowers
and the size changer.

We're getting closer!
Sara: Look out!

- Ah!
[thump]

- Oh, no!
Benny!

- I'm okay.

- Uh, what is that?

- Ooh, it's an ant.

- That makes one, two, three
different kinds of insects

that live here.

- Wow!

- How can it lift
something so big?

- Ants are super strong.

- Wow.
Just like you, Sara.

♪ ♪

Lucita: Ooh, where's it going?

We'll need to get across.

- Well, insects have all
different ways of moving

and so do we.

- Yes!

I shall jump across
like a cricket.

- And I will fly across
like a ladybug.

- Me too!

[heroic music]

♪ ♪

- And I'll use my strength
like an ant.

[grunts]

Whoa-oa-oa-ah!

♪ ♪

- Come on, Sparks' Crew!

♪ ♪

- We're almost there.

♪ ♪

Or not.

- Now that is one big puddle.

Benny: Huh.

Looks like a lake to me.

all: Ah!

- What are those?
- Water skippers.

They have special feet
that let them glide on water.

- Wow, Sara.

You really know
a lot about insects.

- Yeah!

That's one,

two, three, four
different kinds of insects

that live here!

[zapping]

- Come on!

[lighthearted music]

- Wha--oh.

Uh, wait!

It's too big
for me to bounce over.

- Uh, thought projecting!

Hmm, maybe you can
use your bubbles

to glide like
the water skippers.

- Yeah! Good idea.

[adventurous music]

Whee!
[laughs]

Ah-ah-ah-ah!

[screaming]

all: [shouting]

Benny: Oof!
all: Whoa!

- [grunts]
I'm okay.

- The size changer has
to be around here somewhere.

all: Hmm...

- Huh?

Oh, wow!

[awestruck music]

Sara: A spider web!

And there's the spider.

See it swinging?

Spiders are great builders.

- Kind of like...

me.

So many insects that live here.

Some that fly...

[wings fluttering]

Some that crawl...

some that make sounds...

[cricket chirping]

And even some
that glide on water!

And they're all so amazing.

[heavy thudding]
[all shout]

- Uh...

[thud]
What's that?

[suspenseful music]

[thudding continues]

♪ ♪

- [squeaks happily]

all: Fur Blur!

- You're huge!

- Yeah, but still adorable.

- Hmm.

[gasps]
Look!

My size changer!

- We found it!
- Let's go!

[groovy music]

♪ ♪

- What's this?

AJ's size changer.

Oh, no!

Students?

Did you shrink?

Where are you?

- Oh.
He's going the wrong way.

- Uh, how do we stop him?

A- Uh, thought projecting!

[thought zapping]

What if we do what crickets do

and make a lot of noise?

They can be really loud.

- Yeah,
and if we're loud enough,

maybe Mr. Sparks
will hear us.

- Let's do this.

[determined music]

[noisy banging]

- ¿Qué?

- He heard us!

Now we just have to get him
to see us.

- [gasps]

[dramatic music]

[heroic music]

♪ ♪

[device beeps]
- Ah!

♪ ♪

Mr. Sparks!
Mr. Sparks!

- Ah!

[dramatic music]

- No!

- [gasps]
Oh, no!

- [squeaks]

♪ ♪

- Whew.
Thanks, Fur Blur.

- [squeaks happily]

- There you all are.

I was beginning to get worried.

I--oh, hold on.

I'll get you
back to normal size.

Let's see.
Uh...

oh, how does this thing work?

[adventurous music]

[machine beeps]

[zaps]

- Whoo-hoo!
Yay!

- Whoo!
- Oh, thank you!

- What a relief!
- [squeaks happily]

- Oh, I'm so glad
you're all okay. [chuckles]

What was it like down there?

- Amazing.

There were ladybugs
and crickets

and ants and water skippers
and spiders!

And they could all do
incredible things.

- And by acting like them,
we found our way back to you.

- Fantástico!

- I wonder what else
we could learn down there.

Maybe we should go back?

all: No!

[all laughing]

Mr. Sparks:
So remember, heroes,

the next time you see
a little critter,

don't bug out.

It may just give you
a big idea.

all: ♪ We all belong
at Hero Elementary! ♪

Mr. Sparks: The school day
was just about to start,

and my students were ready
to sharpen up

on their hero skills.

- [squeaks happily]

AJ: Ah!

Just eat the carrot,
not my fingers.

Okay, Fur Blur?
- [squeaks agreeably]

- [laughs]

- Ooh, cool pictures.
Did you take these?

- My abuelita did.

See?
That's my grandmother.

She's a great photographer.

- What a beautiful place.

Lucita:
It's our favorite spot.

Mr. Sparks: Your abuelita
is such a good photographer,

I can almost hear the water
in this stream.

- [laughs]
[alarm dinging]

- The Sparkinator!

Benny: Oh, no!

That woman's bag is in the wate!

- [gasps]
That's Abuelita!

She needs help!
- All right.

Who's the crew
who knows what to do?

[heroic music]

all: Sparks' Crew
to the rescue!

♪ ♪

[zaps]

♪ ♪

[zaps]

- There she is.

Abuelita!

♪ ♪

- Lucita!
My camera bag!

- Don't worry, Abuelita.
We'll get it.

Come on, team!

♪ ♪

- Got it!
Whoa-oh-oh-oh!

♪ ♪

- [gasps]

[grunts with effort]

Oof!
Ooh!

- Bubble up!

♪ ♪

- Awesome.

- Thanks, Sara!

Here you go.
- Gracias mi amor.

[smooching]

Oh, I am so glad you came.

Ay, and brought friends.

[zaps]

- The Sparks' Crew is always
willing to help, ma'am.

- If I was younger, I would
have gone after it myself.

[sighs]
I used to fly,

but I'm a bit
out of practice now.

- [gasps]
Wait.

Is this our favorite spot?
- Sí.

- But it's all covered
in water!

What happened?

- Last time we were here,

this was a fast-moving stream,
remember?

[curious music]

AJ: Now it's more like a pond.

- At least we still have
our favorite bench.

- Ah, yes.

Our bench with a view...

both: And room for two.

- We always sit here together.

- But, if the water
keeps getting higher,

we might not be able
to sit here anymore.

- Team,
we have to save the stream

and get it back
to the way it was.

- Yes!

Wait.

How?

- I'm not sure,

but maybe we
can figure it out using our...

all: Superpowers of Science!

Let's start by investigating.

We need to find out
what's making the water

come up so high.

- And what turned a narrow
stream into this wide pond.

- Hmm.

I know!

Why don't we look around
and observe?

You know,
see what we can notice?

- Good idea.

- And I will take some photos
of the great stream rescue.

- Great.
Let's go team!

[heroic music]

[camera shutter clicking]

♪ ♪

[zaps]

♪ ♪

- Huh?

Sara, I noticed something!

[zaps]
- Oh.

- There are lots of trees
on the ground here.

- I wonder how
they all fell down.

[curious music]

- Hmm.
They were chewed.

- Chewed?
How do you know?

- Thought projecting.

When Fur Blur eats a carrot,

she chews it

until it kind of looks kind of
like the shape of these trees.

- Oh, yeah.

I can see the bite marks.

So something chewed
on these trees

until they fell down?

- And chewed
the branches off too.

- So where did
all the branches go?

♪ ♪

- [gasps]
Hey, look what I noticed!

♪ ♪

- The stream is blocked.

- You're right!

The water can't get through.

[device beeps]

Team, we found
a bunch of branches

piled up in the water.

- Branches?

We're on our way!

[zaps]

[zaps]

- See?

Those branches
are blocking the stream,

and the water
has nowhere to go.

So it spreads out
and gets higher and higher.

- [gasps]
Oh, no!

I see a fuzzy animal
in trouble.

It's surrounded by water!

- Hmm.

Ay!
It's a beaver!

[camera shutter clicks]

- It must be stuck out there
on that pile of branches!

[zaps]

- More branches?

- We must rescue it!

- Okay, new plan.

First we'll save the beaver.

Then we save the stream.

- Fear not, my furry friend.

Help is on the way!

- I got this.

[zaps]

I'll just make a bridge
with this log.

[grunting]

- Whoa!
- Wah!

- Whoa!
- Wah-ah!

Ah!
Oof!

[dramatic music]

[quirky music]

Oops.

- [gasps]
Look, it's swimming!

Benny: Huh, I guess it didn't
need rescuing after all.

[camera shutter clicks]

- It's a good little swimmer.

[slow music]

Sara: It's not too speedy
on land though.

Benny: Hey, are you observing

what I'm observing?

- That beaver
is chewing a tree.

So it must've been beavers that
chewed down all those trees.

- But why?

- Look!
More beavers!

They're using the branches
to block up the stream.

- And look!

That beaver's adding
a branch to that pile.

- That one's got
a funny-looking branch.

Abuelita: That's not a branch.

[gasps]

That's my camera stand!

- Oh!
New plan!

First we save the camera stand.

Then we save the stream.

- I'll get it.

[heroic music]

♪ ♪

[grunting]

♪ ♪

Ah!
Ooh!

[grunts, sighs]

Here you go.

- Ay, gracias.

- So why do beavers pile up
the branches like that?

- We need more information.

- Oh, I have a book
about wildlife.

It's back on the bench.
Vámonos.

♪ ♪

Okay.
Hmm.

Ba, ba, ba.
Ay!

This says beavers
chew down trees

and use the branches
to block the water.

Lucita: Then they use other
branches to build their homes.

Benny:
So that's a beaver's home?

- Maybe my Scope-a-Tron
can help me see inside.

[curious music]

[device beeps]

[machine beeps]

It is a home!

There are beavers
living in there.

♪ ♪

Sara: And they have
secret underwater tunnels.

AJ: Beavers are
incredible engineers.

- But why would
they build their home

in the middle of the water?

- Maybe it's to keep them safe.

- From what?

- [gasps]
From things like that!

[suspenseful music]

♪ ♪

- [gasps]
A fox!

New plan!

- Save the beaver?

- Right.

Let's go!

[zaps]

Get outta here, fox!
- Shoo!

- Get out! Go!
- Shoo, fox!

- Shoo!
- Bubble up!

Aw, I guess one bubble
wasn't enough!

- Go, go!
- Shoo, fox!

- Outta here!
- Shoo!

- Let's try more!

[heroic music]

[laughs]
Yeah!

[awkward music]

[groans]

[zaps]
- Shoo, shoo!

Leave that beaver alone!

Aw.

[zaps]

[camera shutter clicks]

[water sloshes]
- Oh?

Oh, no.

[suspenseful music]

♪ ♪

- [groans]
- Oh, no!

- No, no, no, no.

♪ ♪

Benny: Oh, phew!

That beaver
warned the other one

by slapping its tail
on the water.

[curious music]

♪ ♪

[machine beeps]

- Now they're safe
inside their home.

Abuelita: Lucita!
Help me!

- Abuelita!

- Oh, dear.

[suspenseful music]

- Come on.
Let's get you out of here.

- How?
- Do you think you could fly?

- Oh, I haven't used
those powers in a long time.

I'm not sure I can fly.

- We'll do it together.
- Okay, okay.

- Here we go!
- [gasps] Ooh.

Ooh, I--oh!
[grunting]

Oh, uh...

oh, dear.

[triumphant music]

Oh! [laughs]

I'm doing it!
[laughs]

I'm doing it!
I've still got it!

[laughs]
Wow!

- Hey, she's flying!

- Oh! Ay!
This is wonderful.

[laughing]

- Nice!
- Whoo-hoo!

- [laughs]
Way to go!

- [laughs triumphantly]

Gracias, mi amor.

Ay.

Those beavers made
some big changes to this place.

Lucita: Yes.

The beavers need this pond
to live in and to stay safe.

I guess sometimes being a hero
means...

[chuckles]
Doing nothing.

- Sometimes, but you didn't
exactly do nothing.

You saved my camera bag
and my camera stand,

and you helped me fly again.

[zaps]

- That was pretty awesome.

- You know,
there is one small change

we could make to this place.

- Oh?
What's that?

- [whispers unintelligibly]

- I'm on it.

[zaps]

[zaps]

- Oh, very good!

- See?

We can still have
our bench with a view...

both: And room for two.

- Or maybe even more?

- Sí.
Everyone squeeze in!

I'll show you the pictures
I took of my little heroes.

Benny: Ooh!

[fun music]

Sara: Aw.
AJ: [laughs]

Mr. Sparks: So even though
the beavers changed

a lot about the area,

what will never change is how
proud I am of my students.
