man: Practice!

Mr. Sparks:
At Hero Elementary,

we train kids
to be heroes.

But sometimes
playing kid games

is the best training of all.

- Quick, everyone! Hide!

- One...two...

- [whooshes]
- Five...six...

seven...eight...

nine...ten...

......

- Where should we hide, sis?

- Over there!

[wind howls]

- [grunting]

- Oops!
- Freeze Louise,

be careful where you point
your finger.

- Well, I didn't mean

to freeze the water.
- [laughs]

- Sorry, Mr. Whistle.

- Uh, don't worry.
I'll melt it.

[sizzling]

.

Oh, ready or not, here I come!

[upbeat music]

Found you, Benny.

- Aww.

- [whooshing]

[gasps] Oh!

[AJ laughs]
- Aw.

- Wow! She's good.

[Fur Blur squeaks]

- [giggles]

[curious music]

Where'd she go?

Found you. [laughs]

Now I just need to find
Freeze Louise

and Petie Heat.

[upbeat music]

[both laughing]

Found you both.

[both yell]

- [whistles]

Aw...

both:
Sorry, Mr. Whistle.

[bell rings]

- Okay, niños.

Recess is over.

- Aw. I could play
hide-and-seek all day.

- Then you'll be happy to learn

that today you're going
to have...

search and rescue training.
- [gasps]

Mr. Sparks:
It's like hide-and-seek...

- Oh...

- And Freeze Louise
and Petie Heat

are going to help us.

- Thanks for inviting us,
Mr. Sparks.

- So where are we going
to do this training?

- We're taking a ride
into downtown City Town.

- Awesome!

[exciting music]

Mr. Sparks:
Someday you may need

to search for a person
and rescue them.

So today we practice
search and rescue.

Petie Heat and Freeze Louise

will each hide
somewhere in City Town.

- Ah, then we'll have
to look for them,

just like hide-and-seek.

- And don't forget
to rescue us!

Even if it's only
pretend rescue.

- This is gonna be awesome!

- All right.

You two go hide,
and I'll check in soon

to see if you're ready.

- Oh, boy!

both:
Let's go!

♪ ♪

- Ooh, Founder's Fountain.

Maybe I could hide
behind there.

Oops! Oh, oh.

If they see this frozen water,
they'll know I'm hiding here.

Better find another spot.

Uh, maybe over there!

[groans] Nope.

[panting]

Oh, maybe I could hide
over there!

Gah!

[bird tweeting]

- [panting] Okay.

Where's a really good place
to hide?

Aha! To the clocktower!

Gah! Oh!

Hope I didn't melt anything.

[sizzling]

Lucita: Oh, is it time?
Can we search yet?

AJ:
And rescue them?

- Let's find out.

Freeze Louise? Petie Heat?

Are you in position?

- Yep! Ready, Mr. Sparks!

- Me too!

- [squeaking]

- Okay, Sparks' Crew.

Time to search and rescue.

- Oh, boy!
- Let's do this!

- Remember,
the twins could be hiding

anywhere in City Town.

- Let's split up
so we can find them faster.

- Good luck.

Who's the crew
who knows what to do?

[whooshing]

all:
Sparks' Crew to the Rescue!

♪ ♪

Mr. Sparks: And so my students
searched the city.

But they would soon find out
that search and rescue

isn't quite as easy
as hide-and-seek.

- [boinging]

- [whooshing]

♪ ♪

- [whooshes]

- Hmm.

[Hero Screen beeps]

- No luck finding
Freeze Louise

or Petie Heat.

- This is harder
than hide-and-seek.

- Yeah, City Town's a lot
bigger than our schoolyard.

They could be hiding anywhere.

- Come on, Crew.

Don't you have any other powers
that could help you?

- [squeaks]

- Oh! We can use our...

all:
Superpowers of Science!

- Let's start by looking
for evidence.

You know, clues.

- Hey, yeah,
if we can find some evidence,

it might help us figure out
where the twins are hiding.

- Let's do this.

[whooshing]

[lively music]

♪ ♪

- [gasps] Sara,
look at Founder's Fountain!

♪ ♪

- [whooshes]
Whoa!

[tapping]

The water's frozen solid.

Do you think Freeze Louise
was here?

- This is evidence
that she probably was here.

- Hey! Look!

[whooshes]

[curious music]

The creek's frozen too.

- Another clue.

[gasps]
And look at that birdbath.

- Huh, it's like
Freeze Louise

left a trail of frozen things
behind her.

- If we can
follow the evidence,

maybe it will lead us
to wherever she's hiding.

Come on!

[lively music]

- [boinging]

♪ ♪

See anything, AJ?

- Yes. I see lots of things.

- Really?
- But no evidence.

- Aw.

- Wait! Look!

Benny: The clock!

It melted!

AJ: The hands are made
of metal.

Only something really hot
can melt metal like that.

- Oh, that's great evidence.

It means Petie Heat
was probably here.

AJ: And still is.

- Come on! Let's go!

[jetpack whooshes]

[boing]
[bubble pops]

[laughs] Found you, Petie!

- Aw, man!

- Hey, we are good
at search and rescue.

- Well, you found me,

but now you have to pretend
to rescue me.

[clears throat]

Help! Oh, help!

I am stuck in this tower!

- [grunts] Never fear!

I shall rescue you!

Bubble up!

[boing]

Petie: Whoo!

[metallic clang]

- [laughs] Uh, AJ!

Can you give us a hand?

- As a matter of fact, yes.

[Arm-O-Matic whirring]

[triumphant music]

- I guess sometimes even
the rescuer needs rescuing.

[laughter]

- Rescuer needs rescuing!
[laughs]

[upbeat music]

♪ ♪

- [gasps]

- [whooshes]

- Looks like Freeze Louise
came through here.

[Hero Screens ring]

- Hi, guys. What's up?

- We found and rescued
Petie Heat.

- By noticing
some melted evidence.

- Great!
We found some frozen evidence.

But no Louise...yet.

Louise: [laughs]

You're never gonna find me!

I'm hiding someplace
you'll never guess.

- We don't need
to guess, Louise.

We'll find you
by following evidence.

- Yeah, you kind of
left a trail

of frozen things behind you.

- Oh. Oopsie.
[chuckles]

- [laughs] Don't worry, sis.

I'll melt all the things
you froze.

- Great idea.

Just start
at Founder's Fountain, guys.

Then follow the freeze trail.

- [whooshes]

♪ ♪

- [sighs] Yep.
That's my sister's work.

- The water is frozen solid.

- I can melt it with heat--
Petie Heat.

[sizzling]
- [laughs] Way to go!

- There's more ice to melt.
Come on!

♪ ♪

- [whooshes]

♪ ♪

Where will this trail
of frozen things end?

- [gasps] There!

Lucita and Sara:
Hero Elementary?

[Hero Screen beeps]

- Benny. AJ.

The frozen evidence
leads right back to the school.

- We'll meet you there.

- Come on, let's go!
- [whooshes]

- Heat it, Petie.

[sizzling]
[ice crackling]

♪ ♪

[Mr. Whistle grunting]

both:
Whoa!

[both grunt]

- [gasps] I don't believe it.

The trail ends here

at our own classroom?

- Huh!
I never would've looked here.

Freeze Louise!
Are you in there?

- Aw, man!

- Ah!
- We found her!

- Yes!
- Okay, you may have found me,

but now you have to rescue me.

[clears throat]

Oh, no!

I'm stuck in here!

Who will rescue me?

- We will!

both:
Whoa, whoa, whoa!

- Louise, can you open the door

so we can come in
and rescue you?

- Okay.

[grunting]

Hey! [grunts]

The door's stuck.

[curious music]

- The ice is blocking it.

- I can't get out!
I'm trapped!

- Uh-oh! Our search
and pretend rescue

just turned into a real rescue.

- [grunting]

Let me out of here!

- Don't worry, Louise.

We'll rescue you...somehow.

boys:
Whoa, whoa, whoa!

[boys grunting]

- Sorry we're late.

- We had a lot
of melting to do.

- Petie!
- Louise?

- She's stuck inside.

The water is frozen solid
and blocking the door.

We need your help, Petie Heat.

[sizzling]
[ice crackling]

[triumphant music]

- Whew!

Thanks! Ugh.

What took you so long
to find me?

- Search and rescue is tricky,
but Petie was hot on the trail.

- Now, come on.

Let's melt the rest
of this ice.

- Mm...how about
one last slide?

Please?

Mr. Sparks:
So if you ever find yourself

hot on the trail
of some frozen evidence,

you can heat things up
and really save the day.

all: ♪ We all belong
at Hero Elementary ♪

Mr. Sparks: After a week
of working hard at school,

my students were ready

to work hard at play.

- Hi, Sara.

Hi, Lucita.

- Hey!
- Whoo-hoo!

Gotta love Saturdays!

- [whooshing]

Lucita: Hey, look!

There's Turbo Tina.

Hi!
- Hi!

[whooshing]

- [laughs]
She even bikes turbo fast.

- So...where's AJ?

- Yeah, he's supposed
to meet us here.

- Well, let's just call him
on our--

Oh, yeah. [laughs]

Our Hero Screens
are on our school uniforms.

- [panting]

[grunts] Sorry I'm late.
I had to walk--

well, run here.

- Huh?
No jetpack backpack today?

- It's at home charging.

[groans]

I don't like
when it's not on me.

- Don't worry, AJ.

We'll be having so much fun,

you won't even miss it.

- Come on!
Let's go to the park.

- Oh! I want to check out
the new playground.

- Yeah! And maybe we can have
a game of catch.

- Think fast, Sara! Bubble up!

[jaunty music]

[laughter]

[bell jingles]
[all gasp]

- [grunting]
- Huh?

all:
Mr. Sparks?

- Hola. Qué sorpresa.

So nice to see you, students.

- What are you doing here?

- I'm shopping.

- You...shop?

- [laughing] Sí.
Of course.

- But...shouldn't you
be at school?

- Not on a Saturday
when school is closed.

- I kind of thought that
teachers are always at school.

- No, no. [laughs]

I leave school and go home,
just like you do.

- [scoffs] Mind...blown!

[imitates expl*si*n]
[bell jingles]

[car whirring]

- Fur Blur? You're here too?

- Fur Blur is coming
to a party with me today.

- Wait, wait, wait,
wait, wait, wait.

Teachers go to parties?

- We do.

I'm having a little party
for my mother.

- Ho-ho. Hang on.

Teachers...

- Have families? Yes, yes.

We are just like anyone else.

- I guess that makes sense.

Huh. We just never
thought about it before.

- That's all right.

Students are often surprised
to see teachers

outside of school.

Tina:
[gasps] Mr. Sparks?

- [yells] Oh, no!

[suspenseful music]

Ay, no.

[wind whistling]

- I'll get them!

Oh, wait. [sighs]

I can't fly without my jetpack.

- I've got this!

[triumphant music]

- Muchas gracias, Lucita.

It's good to know my students

will always save the day

even when they're
not in school.

- Why aren't you in school,
Mr. Sparks?

I mean, you're a teacher;
don't you live there

or something?
- Turbo Tina, slow down.

- [inhales] Whew.

It's just wild to see a teacher
outside of school.

Wait till the rest of my class
hears about this on Monday.

[whooshes]

- Here are your balloons,
Mr. Sparks.

- And all your other things.

- Uh, gracias. [laughs]

Now, uh, where is, uh...

Oh. Huh? Oh, dear.

- What's wrong, Mr. Sparks?

- I-I had a little
red gift bag.

- [gasps]
- A present for my mother.

It's gone.

Maybe I dropped it somewhere.

- We shall help you find it.

Sparks' Crew can save the day
anytime, any way.

- I know you can,

because who's the crew
who knows what to do?

[whooshing]

Sparks' Crew to the Rescue!

- Let's search
for a little red gift bag.

- [boings]
- [whooshes]

- I'll use my Zoomoculars
to look.

[sighs] It's in my backpack
at home.

- [boings]
- [whooshes]

[light music]

- [boinging]

- I don't see
a gift bag anywhere.

- Me neither.
- Ay.

My mother's party
is in just a little while.

- Don't worry.
We'll find her gift in time.

- Maybe we'll do better

Superpowers of Science!

- Let's start by making a plan.

We can investigate.

We'll search all of the places
Mr. Sparks went this morning.

You know, retrace his steps.

- Muy bueno,
an excellent plan, AJ.

- So where did you go today,
Mr. Sparks?

- Uh...well, let's see.

Uh, first, I went
to the jewelry store, and...

then I took the train
to the supermarket,

then I went to the bakery and--

Oh! Then--then here,
to the party store.

- Oh! Maybe we should each
take a place to investigate.

- Good idea.

I'll look for the red gift bag
at the supermarket.

- I'll check out the bakery.

- I'll look
inside the party store.

- And I'll search
the train station.

That just leaves
the jewelry store.

AJ, you can check there.

Meet you back here.

[whooshes]
- [boinging]

- [sighs] No jetpack.

I didn't know I was going
to need my gadgets today.

- AJ, you don't need
high-tech gadgets to be a hero.

You know that, right?

- I guess.

But they sure help sometimes.

- I am sure you can
figure something out.

It's what you do.

Now, let's look
for that gift bag.

- Hmm...

jewelry store is pretty far.

How am I going
to get there quickly?

- [squeaks]

- Maybe I could just...

walk fast.

[motor whirring]

Thought projecting!

Mm-hmm! Aha!

[motor whirring]

Here I come!

Mr. Sparks:
So my students searched up...

and down...

and all over town...

- I hope I find it
in the bakery.

[whooshes]

[chomps]

[muffled]
Nope. Not in there.

Mr. Sparks: But no gift bag
could be found.

- He didn't leave it
in the jewelry store.

[upbeat music]

- [boinging]
- [whooshing]

- Wasn't at the supermarket.

- No red gift bag
at the train station.

- And nothing in the bakery
either.

[motor whirring]

Whoa!

- Sweet ride, AJ!

Ah!
Tina: Sorry, sorry, sorry!

[bell jingles]
- Any luck, kids?

- No. We couldn't find
your mother's gift anywhere.

- We must be missing
some information,

like a clue or something.

- We could use
more information.

Mr. Sparks, do you remember

the last time
you had the gift bag?

- Huh.

I could be wrong,
but I thought I had it

when I came out of the
party store with my balloons.

- That's when
we first saw you today.

Thought projecting.

You had your hands full,

and then Turbo Tina
came along and...

wait! Look what I observed.

Mr. Sparks,

you dropped the gift bag
into Tina's bike basket.

Mr. Sparks:
You're right!

It must still be in there.

- We just saw Turbo Tina
ride her bike into the park.

- Then we shall find her.

To the park!

[boinging]
- [whooshing]

♪ ♪

- Okay! So where's Tina?

- She bikes so turbo fast,
she could be anywhere.

- And so could
my mother's gift.

- We'll search on that side
of the park.

- And we'll look on this side.

- Another good plan.

- Turbo Tina!

Where are you?

- If only I had my jetpack.

I could look for her
from up high.

- Remember, AJ, you didn't need
a high-tech gadget

to get to the jewelry store.

- That's true.
I figured it out on my own.

And I just figured out
how to get up high on my own.

- [squeaks]

[curious music]

[gasps] There she is!

- [squeaks]
- Hey! Turbo Tina!

- I don't think
she can hear you.

♪ ♪

- I'll tell the others
where she is.

[groans] No Hero Screen.

Uh, Benny! Sara! Lucita!

Aw. Wait a minute.

Mr. Sparks said I don't need
high-tech gadgets all the time.

Aha!

Mr. Sparks,
can I borrow that newspaper?

- Of course.

- Sparks' Crew!

Benny! Sarah! Lucita!
all: Huh?

- Turbo Tina
is heading toward the lake!

- [whooshes]

- There she is!
- Let's go!

- [whooshes]
- [boinging]

[exciting music]

- [whooshing]

♪ ♪

- I got this!

[whooshes]

Tina! Stop!

- Huh? Whoa!

[tires squeal]

- [gasps]
- Oh, no!

- Bubble up!

[boinging]

Mr. Sparks:
My mother's gift!

[in slow motion]

[triumphant music]

- [laughs] Yes!

with my mitt.

- It's like
a low-tech Arm-O-Matic.

- [laughs]

You really saved the day.

Mr. Sparks,

even when you're not in school.

- Yes, uh, but we'll need
to do it fast.

[exciting music]

What's all this?

- Mamá, it's a special party
just for you.

- What a wonderful surprise.

- Class, I'd like to
introduce you to Mama Sparks.

- Hi, Mr. Sparks' mom.
- Hello, Mama Sparks.

wonderful young heroes you are.

[laughter]

[laughter]
