Have you seen blue, my puppy?

I think I'm going to need your ears

To figure out what this sound is.

Will you listen with me?

[Ringing continues]

[Ringing continues]

Do you think these keys were making that sound?

[Jingling]

No!

Oh, good listening.

[Jingling]

[Ringing in background]

Yeah, that's more of a ringing sound.

[Ringing continues]

[Ringing gets louder]

[Wind blowing]

We must be getting closer.

The sound is getting louder.

[Wind howling, ringing continues]

So... Do you see what's making that sound?

The wind chime!

[Barks "the wind chime"]

Oh...

Oh, the wind chime is making that sound.

[Barks "oh!"]

Hey, there, blue.

You know, we heard that wind chime

All the way from the living room.

I do love the sound of a good wind chime.

Oh... Do you hear something else, blue?

[Barks "yes, I do"]

I don't hear anything.

Do you hear anything?

Uh, blue, we don't hear anything.

What do you hear?

[Barks happily]

Oh! We'll play "blue's clues" to figure out what blue hears.

Sounds good to me.

[Music starts]

♪ We are gonna play blue's clues ♪

♪ 'Cause it's really fun!

So remember, blue's paw print will be on the clues

So how should we get rid of this paw pr...?

[Wind howling]

Now, I know I've heard that sound before.

What is that?

Wind.

Oh, yeah... Wind... Ooh!

Hey.

That was a breeze.

You know what we need to play blue's clues--

Our handy-dandy...

Notebook.

Notebook, right.

Come on.

Steve, close your eyes.

Do you know what this sound is?

[Scraping]

Oh, that's the sound of your drawer opening

So I can reach in and get our notebook

And we can start playing "blue's clues"?

Yep.

Okay.

♪ We got to find a...

Paw print!

Oh, a paw print, right.

♪ And that's our first...

Clue!

♪ Then we put it in our notebook ♪

♪ 'Cause they're blue's clues, blue's clues ♪

♪ We got to find another paw print, that's the second clue ♪

♪ We put it in our notebook, 'cause they're whose clues? ♪

♪ Blue's clues!♪

♪ We got to find the last paw print, that's the third clue ♪

♪ We put it in our notebook

♪ 'Cause they're blue's clues, blue's clues ♪

You know what to do.

♪ Sit down in our thinking chair and think, think, think ♪

♪ 'Cause when we use our minds, and take a step at a time ♪

♪ We can do anything...

[Barks]

♪ That we want to do.

So I can tell I'm really going to need your help today

Trying to figure out what blue hears.

Will you help me?

Oh, you will.

Great.

So do you hear which way blue went?

That way.

That way... Great!

[Water dripping]

♪ Wonder what that is.

Do you know what that sound is?

Hmm, let's go see.

Steve, listen.

[Water dripping]

Listen, it's a drippy faucet.

[Salt and pepper shaking]

Oh, that's what it is--

A drippy faucet.

Ploop, ploop, ploop.

Can you make this sound?

[Hollow sound]

Clue, clue!

Close, but it's more of a... Ploop.

Think "ploop."

No, a clue!

Oh, there's a clue on these drops of water.

You know what we need now.

Uh... Turn off the faucet?

Oh, good idea, mr. Salt.

And we need our handy-dandy...

Notebook.

Okay... Drops of water.

So, a curved line moving up, and another and another.

There, drops of water.

So, we're trying to figure out what blue hears

And our first clue is drops of water.

Hmm...

So what could blue hear with drops of water?

[Dripping]

Ooh, ooh!

It sounds like... It sounds like...

Sounds like we got to find some more clues to figure this out.

[Giggling]

Listen... Do you know who's making those sounds?

[Giggling]

Shovel and pail.

[Giggling]

Oh, yeah, it's shovel and pail... In the garden.

Let's go.

Hi, shovel, hi, pail.

Both: hi, steve.

[Silly giggling continues]

What's so funny?

[Giggling hysterically]

Come on, steve.

We're following that gopher.

He's taking us

To a stream that makes a pretty sound.

Oh, well... We like pretty sounds.

Do you want to help shovel and pail

Follow that gopher

So we can hear the stream?

Yeah?

Both: gopher, where are you?

[Giggling]

[Splashing]

Uh... Gopher?

[Giggles]

Oh, no.

Which way did he go?

Shh...

Both: listen.

Hey, you're good at listening.

Can you tell from the sound

Which way gopher went?

That way-- the puddle!

Yeah, I think he did go that way, because...

A puddle makes a splashy sound.

[Squeaking and laughing]

Gopher.

[Rustling]

What's that sound?

Listen.

[Rustling continues]

Oh, no.

Which way did he go?

Which way do you think the gopher went?

That way.

The leaves!

[Rustling]

Yeah, it was kind of a rustling sound.

Great job-- the gopher must be that way.

[Squeaking and laughing]

Oh-oh.

[Squeaks echoing hollowly]

We found you.

Oh, no.

Both: which way did he go?

Shh! Listen.

[Squeaky giggling echoing]

I hear gopher giggles.

Do you know where those gopher giggles are coming from?

[Squeaky giggling echoing]

The log.

Oh, yeah, the hollow log.

[Squeaking]

We found you.

Listen, there's the stream!

[Giggling]

We found it.

[Stream gurgling]

Now, that is a pretty sound.

Good ear work.

[Barks]

Oh, yeah...

We still have to find two more blue's clues.

Okay, bye.

Both: bye, steve.

Wow!

Listen to all these really great sounds.

Hey... I got an idea.

Let's try not to make any noise on our way back to the house

So we can hear all these really great sounds.

Okay?

[Frog croaking]

[Cricket chirping]

How did blue get a paw...

Hmm... So a squiggly line

That goes around to make a big puffy shape, a cloud.

So we're trying to figure out what blue hears

And what was our first clue?

[Dripping]

Drops of water.

Drops of water, right.

And now our second clue is a cloud.

So what could blue hear with drops of water and a cloud?

[Wind howling]

Do you think?

Well, I think we better find our last clue

You know, just to be sure.

Ooh! You know what that sound means.

Mail!

Yep, come on.

♪ Here's the mail, it never fails ♪

♪ It makes me want to wag my tail ♪

♪ When it comes, I want to wail, "mail!" ♪

[Snickers]

Hey, we finished the whole movie.

Let's watch and listen to the whole thing.

Okay, now that we're in our thinking chair...

Let's think.

Okay, so we're trying to figure out what blue hears

And our clues are: drops of water...

[Dripping]

[Rumbling]

And this sound...

So, what could blue hear with drops of water, a cloud

And this sound?

[Rumbling]

Well, maybe if the drops of water came out from the cloud

Like rain-- yeah-- and then we hear this sound.

[Rumbling, water dripping]

Hey, what is that called?

[Rumbling again]

A thunderstorm.

A thunderstorm!

Yeah, that's it.

Because the drops of water are like rain

And rain comes from a cloud and we hear this sound...

[Rumbling]
