(dramatic music)

- Don't move!

Don't move.

- What do you want?

- I want your car.

Give me the keys, now.

Move!

- Police, freeze!

- I'll pull the top of her head off.

- [Darcy] Let her go.

- I will, just as soon as
she gives me her car keys.

- Do it.

- My baby's in the car.

- I don't care about it,
I need a getaway car.

- Take mine.

Come on, it's right here.

Corvette's worth a lot
more than that thing.

- Okay, but look you give me
those car keys and you give

them to me slowly or I'll take her.

Don't follow me!

I had to get away, I had to get away!

(intense music)

- I don't know how to thank you.

- Just take your baby home.

Activate auto transform.

(intense music)

- Awesome stereo system,
that's what I'm talking about.

Yeah, I'm making it now.

- Take this carjacker for a ride.

Fire.

(loud expl*si*n)

- [Narrator] In the light of
day, Darcy Walker is a cop.

But in the dark of night
she becomes Black Scorpion.

Doing with a mask what
she can't do with a badge.

(dramatic music)

(intense music)

- [Man] What's your problem!?

(police sirens blaring)

(loud crashing)

(whimpering)

(glass shattering)

- This is unit er ,
I'm heading in pursuit

of the Black Scorpion mobile,

I'll be traveling west
towards Fountain Parkway.

(police siren blaring)

(ominous music)

- [Iris] Cameron.

- Iris, how many times have I asked you

not to turn on the
lights while I'm working?

- But it's so dark in here.

Have you ever thought
about putting in a window?

- Have you ever heard the expression

that a picture is worth , words?

- [Iris] Uh huh.

- [Cameron] Well?

- Oh it's over developed.

- Exactly.

- But I thought you liked
things that were over developed?

- Oh Iris.

- Yeah?

- Is there a reason that you came in here?

- Oh yeah.

I was listening to the police
radio like you told me to

and I heard that the cops are
chasing the Black Scorpion.

- Where?

- Fountain Parkway.

(police siren blaring)

- Why don't you look where you're going?

Hey, my can.

- Auto stop.

(grunting)

(loud thudding)

Black Scorpion shows no mercy.

(grunting)

(thudding kicks)

(grunting)

(police siren sounding)

- Hey Scorpion, you're under arrest.

- Sorry.

(loud thudding)

I'm not into handcuffs.

- I thought you liked to play rough?

- I do.

- Hold that pose.

- The press is having a
field day with this one.

They think the reason we haven't caught

the Black Scorpion is
because you're hot for her.

- Captain, what are you
doing wearing a bathrobe?

- I've been sleeping in the
squad room for a few nights.

The wife and I are
having a little problem.

- Cap, is it uh, sexual?

- He did say it was a little problem.

- Will you two morons put a lid on it.

- Let's go flirt with
the hookers in lockup.

- Okay.

Bye.

- And as for you, Rafferty, what you do

in your private life is your own business.

But when you're on the job, I expect you

to carry yourself in a
respectable and dignified manner

befitting the City of Angels finest.

- [Steve] He's right.

- Oh come on.

I think he's the last
person who should talk

about acting dignified on the job.

- No, he's right about me
and the Black Scorpion.

- He is?

- Yeah.

I can't stop thinking about her.

I would give anything to
find out who she really is.

- Soon the whole city will
know who she really is.

And more importantly,
they'll know who I am.

- [Iris] They will?

- This picture was just the beginning.

No more tabloids for me.

From now on I'll be known as

the Angel Herald's ace photographer.

The one who captured the Black
Scorpion's identity on film.

- But what makes you
think she'll pose for you?

- What makes you think I'm
gonna give her a choice?

I'm gonna trick her.

- How?

- How do you suppose
that the Black Scorpion

knows where crimes are being committed?

- I don't know.

- The same way that we do, by
listening to the police band.

So, all we have to do is stage a crime

and then sit back and wait
for her to show her face.

You get the picture?

- No.

But I'm sure that you will.

(ominous music)

- [Police Scanner] Attention,
any available unit,

emergency reports the Red
Dragons are attacking a female.

- Access lair.

(intense music)

Let her go.

- The Red Dragon show no mercy.

(punching thuds)

(groaning)

(grunting)

- Black Scorpion shows no mercy.

- Oh come on lady, give me a break.

- Where do you want it?

The leg, the arm, or how about the face?

(whimpering)

Miss, are you okay?

Come on, look at my face.

- Let me see yours.

- Say cheese.

(electricity zapping)

(yelling)

- [Dr. Heinderscheit] Mr. Albright,

I will now remove your bandages.

- [Iris] I'm here for you Cameron.

- Alright.

What are you waiting for, Doc?

Go ahead, take them off.

- They are off.

- [Cameron] What?

- I was afraid of this.

- [Cameron] Afraid of what?

- The electrical currents
from the Black Scorpion's ring

have completely destroyed
your optic nerves.

- [Iris] What are you
saying, Dr. Heinderscheit?

- [Dr. Heinderscheit]
Mr. Albright is blind.

- I want a second opinion.

- You're blind.

- Not from you, from a doctor.

- Mr. Albright, I am the leading doctor

in the field of refractive surgery.

- I don't care.

- [Dr. Heinderscheit] But I flew halfway

across the world just to see you.

- But I can't see you.

I'm a photographer, my eyes are my life,

without them I might as well be dead.

- [Dr. Heinderscheit]
Which is why you make

the perfect guinea pig.

- Guinea pig?

- Since your own life means so
little to you at this present

moment, I was wondering if you
would be willing to risk it

by submitting to an
experimental surgical procedure?

- What kind of procedure?

- This is my own invention.

I call it the ocular laser.

Its beam is the sharpest
surgical tool in the world.

With it, I can completely
reconstruct your cornea.

- Then will Cameron be able to see again?

- Possibly.

We'll know more after the surgery.

After all, hindsight is /.

A little optical humor.

You get it?

- Start the procedure!

- Oh yeah, of course.

You might want to put these on, my dear.

- And light, camera, with action!

(zapping loudly)

(yelping)

- The Faith Diamond, the
largest diamond in the world,

goes on display today at
the City of Angels Museum.

And when we come back,
Bonita Bradley offers

an editorial on the
dangers of vigilantism.

This in light of last night's blinding

of an innocent photographer
by the Black Scorpion.

- Damn.

That newscaster had a nice
set of hair, didn't he?

Did you check out that fro?

- [Darcy] I feel terrible.

- Oh you shouldn't, True Blue.

That photographer set you up.

I mean what else could you do?

- I could've just let him take my picture.

- Yeah, and then where would you be?

- I dunno.

- Well I do.

Your face would be on the front
page of the Angel's Herald.

Then your life as a crime
fighter would be over.

- Sometimes I wonder if that
would be such a bad thing.

- Oh hey girlfriend, hey baby.

Girl I am so glad you're here,

'cause I need your woman's opinion.

- What's up?

- Well, business ain't exactly been

booming down at Fashion Fantasies.

- [Argyle] Yeah, people just aren't into

leather and latex the way they used to be.

- So I'm trying out a new ad campaign.

Here, check it out.

- [Darcy] Be a super hero in the bedroom.

- Mm hmm, ain't it the b*mb?

I got the idea from that picture

of your partner smooching Black Scorpion.

I figure, everybody wants
to date a superhero.

That's why I'm designing a line of masks.

I even came up with one
for you, Love Muffin.

Here, try it on.

- No.

- Baby, baby come on.
- No, no, no, I don't want to.

- By day you're just an
ordinary, mild mannered mechanic.

But at night, the Argyle Avenger.

What do you think?

- I look ridiculous.

- Yeah you're right,
it does need something.

I got it, a matching cape.

- [Argyle] A matching what?

- [Veronica] Darc, do me a favor,

put one of those up in your squad room.

I gotta go make my man a matching cape.

- Why didn't you stop her?

- Be a super hero in the bedroom?

- Yeah.

It's my friend's new line of clothing.

- Cap, that could be the
answer to your problem.

You know a costume might
help out the old love life.

- You think so?

- No, actually I don't.

- Sure it is.

Mind your own business, Darcy.

- No Walker's right, my waistline
isn't what it used to be.

- But see Cap, that's the
beauty of spandex, it stretches.

- What the heck, couldn't
hurt to try on a few things.

- Not with that gut

- Hey thanks for the advice guys.

Maybe I can pick something
up on my lunch hour.

- You do that, Cap.

I'll pick up a little film
for the mugshot camera.

- Hey, what are you guys up to?

- Revenge.

He's got us guarding that stupid diamond.

- Yeah.

As soon as I get a photo of
him in a Speedo and a cape,

we'll be making our own assignments.

- That's blackmail.

- And your point is?

- Now, let's see how we did.

How many fingers am I holding up.

- Three.

- Actually I was talking to Mr. Albright.

- [Cameron] Two.

- Ah, that's an easy guess.

Now how many?

- Four.

- Oh Cameron, you can see.

- He can?

- Yeah.

- Oh no, no, I mean of
course, of course he can.

Oh my god, oh it's a miracle.

- [Cameron] But your
faces look real strange.

They're all blurry.

- Yeah, speaking of which,
I want to x-ray your brains.

Hopefully the laser beam

didn't wipe out half your gray matter.

Of course, you haven't
lost your power of speech

and your drooling is
minimal, so I am optimistic.

- [Cameron] No x-rays!

- Cameron, don't you want to know if?

- No!

The only thing I want to
know is if Dr. Heinderscheit

can construct a laser
times the size of this one.

- Of course it is possible,

but what on earth do you want it for?

- To blackmail the Black Scorpion.

- Blackmail her how?

- If she doesn't reveal
her identity on camera,

I'll blind every last pair of
eyes in the City of Angels.

- I refuse.

My life has been dedicated to restoring

the sight of those who cannot see.

- But just think of all the
new patients you'll have

to operate on if the Black
Scorpion refuses to cooperate.

- You put it that way.

But what you are asking is very expensive.

I will need a million dollars cash.

- You'll have it.

- [Iris] But Cameron, how are we gonna

come up with that kind of money?

- By pulling off the
picture perfect crime.

(laughing maniacally)

- Okay, thank you.

You don't think the Speedos are too much?

- Actually they may not be enough,

you know, to cover everything.

That's why I gave you an extra long cape.

Just be careful not to trip over it.

- Thanks, I will.

- Excuse me, but is
this Fashion Fantasies?

- That's what the sign says.

How can I help you?

(shutter clicking)

- By not putting up a struggle.

- Hey, hey this is kidnapping!

- You'll be well
compensated for your work.

- My work?

- I'm hiring you to
design a costume for me.

- Excuse me, but are you
having like a two for one sale,

because I need one too.

- Iris.

- Well I thought you might
need a sexy sidekick.

- Look.

(ominous music)

On second thought, listen.

If you want a costume,

I'm gonna have to go back
to my shop for the material.

- Everything you need is right here.

The name is Flash Point.

(laughing maniacally)

- Well come on, let's see how it fits.

- It's fine.

- Actually it's a little
big in the crotch.

- I guess I overestimated you.

- Iris, let's go.

- Oh no, you're not going
anyplace until I take that in.

- I don't have time for such nonsense.

The armored car arrives at midnight.

- Well at least let me pin it.

- Iris!

- I'm ready.

- Iris, is that you?

- So, what do you think?

- You're a vision.

- That's not a bad name for a sidekick.

Flash Point and Vision.

- So what's our first crime, baby?

- [Veronica] They're
gonna rob an armored car.

- How do you know?

- I overheard Flash Point
while I was making his costume.

- Baby!

What else did he say?

- Just that the armored car
would arrive at midnight.

- Arrive where?

- The treasury incinerator.

- What?

- On the first of every
month, the city transports

all its old money to the
treasury to be incinerated.

- But today's the th.

- Not anymore.

(intense music)

This is unit er
requesting all available units

to the treasury incinerator, over.

(police siren blaring)

Activate auto transform.

- Come on, let's unload the money.

- I would if I could see it.

- Maybe I can shed some
light on the subject.

- What the hell are you?

- You can call me Flash Point.

Hah!

- Oh, look at all this money.

- Money means nothing, it's
just a means to an end.

- That's right, your end.

- Black Scorpion, long time no see.

(groaning)

- Here's your camera.

You need a flash?

No, sorry.

What do you want me to do?

- Take off her mask.

(police siren beeping)

- Police, freeze!

- Tell me, Detective, is
it true justice is blind?

(yelping)

I guess it is true.

Sorry I can't stay, Black Scorpion,

but I'd like to see
more of you, a lot more.

- Come on, come on.

- Wait!

No, Black Scorpion, wait!

Come on lady, I just wanna talk to you.

(police siren blaring)

Ah come on, come on, where did she go?

- Auto revert.

According to the security guards,

Flash Point said the money
was a means to an end.

What do you think he meant by that?

Steve?

- My mind just went
someplace there, I'm sorry.

- Let me guess.

You mean your idea of excitement

is being beaten up by a woman in a mask?

- Well you know what they say,

you only hurt the one you love.

Darc, it was a joke.

- No I think the real joke is
you and the Black Scorpion.

- You know, I think you're jealous.

- I'm not jealous, Steve.

(laughing loudly)

I can't be.

Come on, we're gonna be late for work.

I've made my decision.

- I've just about got these
glare reducing goggles finished.

- Are you listening to me?

- Yes, but I'm ignoring you.

Now, do they fit okay?

- Fine.

You didn't see the look
on Steve's face, Argyle.

I think he's in love with me.

- Wrong.

He's in love with the Black Scorpion.

- But I am the Black Scorpion,

and I wanna tell him.

- No, you can't do that.

- Why not?

- Because he'll arrest you,

then he'll arrest me for
being your accomplice.

Look at me, I am too good looking
to go back in the slammer.

I'll end up as the wife of
some mass m*rder*r named Bubba.

- Don't worry, I'll keep you out of it.

- But I am worried, and you should be too.

Not about lover boy,
but about Flash Point.

- Why, you said the goggles
would protect my eyes?

- But they won't protect the rest of us.

- From what, he's after me.

- I don't know, True Blue,
but something tells me

we're not seeing the big picture.

- Dr. Heinderscheit is here.

- Yah.

I have come for my money.

- It's all there.

A million dollars in cold hard cash.

- Excellent.

Excellent.

- When do I get my laser?

- Just as soon as you
steal the fake diamond.

- We had a deal, Heinderscheit!

- You misunderstand.

The diamond is not for
me, it's for the laser.

- The laser?

- Yah.

In order to blind an entire population,

the laser beam must be broken down

into hundreds of millions
of smaller beams.

A glass lens is not capable of this.

- But a carat diamond is.

- Exactly.

The prisms act as refractor which

divides and duplicates, hah, the light.

- Where do I find it?

- The Faith Diamond currently on display

at the City of Angels Museum.

(laughing maniacally)

- Wow, look at the size of that rock.

- You think that's big?

Look at the rocks on Miss July.

- Oh yeah.

(glass shattering)

(groaning)

- What light through yonder window breaks?

- Flash Point, freeze!

(loud expl*si*n)

- You don't mind if I take this, do you?

- [Police Radio] Calling all cars,

respond to burglar alarm
at City of Angels Museum.

- That's us, we're up.

Come on, the museum's
only two blocks from here.

- Unit er responding.

(grunting)

(glass shattering)

- I got it.

- You got it?

Ow.

- The blind leading the blind.

(laughing loudly)

- Police!

Alright Flash Point, no tricks.

- Of course not Detective,
what you see is what you get.

(laughing maniacally)

(loud thudding)

- [Darcy] What about me?

- [Cameron] Black Scorpion.

- Nice to see you again.

(loud thudding)

From now on the only pictures
you'll be taking are mugshots.

(loud thudding)

- Oh and who says diamonds
are a girl's best friend.

- Let's take off her mask.

- You don't have your camera.

- You're right.

Taking off her mask does no good

unless I can capture it on film.

But I'll get my chance soon
enough now that I have this.

- Steve are you okay?

- Darc?

- That's right?

How'd you know it was me?

- I could recognize your voice.

- [Darcy] My voice?

- My eyes are still blurry.

Where's Flash Point?

- He got away.

But there's something
else I have to tell you.

- What?

- [Darcy] It's about the Black Scorpion.

- Well?

- I don't know how to say this.

(groaning)

- Did you get the number
of the truck that hit me?

- I think I'm getting my vision back.

- Just say it, Darc.

- She got away.

- [Steve] What?

- Don't worry, I'll go after her.

- The Black Scorpion wasn't

the only one who got away last night.

The shining super villain
known as Flash Point

got away with an equally shiny diamond.

- Attention City of Angels.

- What do you think Flash Point

is planning to do with the diamond?

- I have a feeling
we're about to find out.

- The machine you see behind
me is called the ocular laser.

Capable of sh**ting millions of beams

through the prisms of its
diamond lens, blinding everyone.

- I'm gonna see if I can
find out where Flash Point

is transmitting from by
tracing his satellite link up.

- Normally in situations like
these, the Black Scorpion

shows up in a breeze and saves the city.

And this situation is no
different for our little kitty.

All she has to do is remove her mask

on Channel Eight's o'clock news cast.

Now, if she reveals her identity

for the City of Angels to see,

I'll make sure that the city
has eyes with which to see her.

But, if there's nothing to see,

you won't need anything to see with.

- Yeah!

- The eyes of all look
to you, Black Scorpion.

At least for now.

(laughing maniacally)

- He's broadcasting from the research lab

at Heppner Boulevard.

- Then I guess I know what I have to do.

- Yeah.

- Give myself up.
- Go after him.

- What?
- What?

- Look you heard Flash Point.

Revealing my identity is the
only way to save the city.

- If you ask me, it's an easy way out.

- What are you talking about?

- Look, you don't have the guts

to tell lover boy you
were the Black Scorpion.

So you're gonna let Flash
Point do it for you?

- That's ridiculous.

- That's right, it is, because
if you take off your mask

it'll mean the end of your
career as a crime fighter.

- Good, then maybe I'll get
to lead a normal life again.

- But Steve doesn't want a
girl who leads a normal life.

If he did he'd be with you

instead of chasing the Black Scorpion.

- But once he finds out
I am the Black Scorpion.

- He'll lose interest.

- I don't believe that.

- Then why didn't you tell him

who you were when you had the chance?

- I didn't tell him because.

- Because you know it's
the truth, Darcy Walker.

- I gotta get down to Channel Eight.

- What are you gonna do?

- What I have to.

- True Blue, wait.

True Blue!

- [Steve] Kitty cats,
what did you think it was.

- [Slugger] I don't know.

- Rafferty, put these on.

- Captain, Captain, I
told you, sunglasses are

not gonna protect us
from Flash Point's laser.

- Yeah, but we'll definitely look good.

- Put a lid on it you two,

the Black Scorpion's on Channel Eight.

- Who is the woman behind the mask?

Today we're going to
find out in what will be

the Black Scorpion's
first and last interview.

- Interview?

- The public has a lot of
questions for you, Black Scorpion.

- Well I'll do my best to answer them.

- First of all, what
is your favorite color?

- I would have to say black, Don.

- Which would explain the costume.

- [Veronica] Baby, give
me some of that popcorn.

- Huh?

Oh, okay.

- So do you really think
she's gonna take off her mask?

- Sure looks that way.

- Yeah but, what if Flash Point
breaks his promise and uses

the laser anyway, there
won't be anybody to save us.

- Hey, I have to go run an errand, okay?

- Now?

- Yeah, um, the auto parts store

is having a sale and it ends today.

- But don't you wanna find
out who Black Scorpion is?

- What I really want is
some uh, spark plugs.

They're on sale for .,
you can't b*at that.

Hey listen, I'll just
call you later, okay?

(phone ringing)

- Yeah, Rafferty, st
precinct, who is it?

- Nevermind who this is,

just listen to what I'm telling you.

There's a certain costumed
crime fighter who needs

your help at the research
lab at Heppner Boulevard.

- Captain, I'm gonna go
act on an anonymous tip.

- Yeah right, whatever,
just don't block the screen.

- If you were a tree, what
kind of tree would you be?

- I hate the way I look on camera.

- Black Scorpion?

- But how can you be here and there?

- Video tape.

Don McDonald wanted ratings
and I wanted a distraction.

- You've distracted me for the last time.

Heinderscheit.

- Yah.

(laser buzzing)

Nobody can help you now, Black Scorpion.

- Nobody except the Argyle Avenger.

- You've got to be kidding.

- Time to kick some ass.

(intense music)

(loud thudding)

Did you check out that?

(loud thudding)

- Didn't expect to see you here.

- That goes double for me.

- Get them.

(groaning)

- Good right.

- Nice left.

- It was kinda nice, wasn't it?

- Stop the countdown, Flash Point.

- Take off your mask and I will.

- [Darcy] I can't do that.

- Then watch the devastation.

- [Argyle] Yo, Black Scorpion.

- Now we both have lasers.

- Yes, but mine is bigger.

- Stop the countdown or else!

- Never!

- Then I guess there's only

one way to make you see the light.

(laser buzzing loudly)

(punching thuds)

(exploding loudly)

(grunting)

(electricity zapping)

(booming expl*si*n)

- Lights out.

- Looks like my work here is done.

- You make a pretty good
sidekick, Argyle Avenger.

- Yeah, well, from now on it's
gonna be plain old Argyle.

I'm hanging up my cape along with

the rest of this butt ugly costume.

I look like an idiot.

Damn Speedo.

- Police!

- Right on time as usual.

- What happened to him?

- I punched his lights out.

He's all yours.

- What about you?

- That depends.

- On what?

- On whether you want to arrest
me or you want to kiss me.

- What I want to do is this.

- Why'd you stop?

- I don't know, maybe
I just like the chase.

- Well in that case.

(loud thudding)

(groaning)

- [Argyle] How was the interview, baby?

- A bust.

Black Scorpion never took off her mask.

- Well I'm taking mine off right now.

- Don't you dare.

- And why not?

- Because seeing you in that
costume does something to me.

- Yeah well it does something for me too,

gives me the itchies.

I think I got a rash.

- No what I mean is you look like

you could save a damsel in distress.

- I already did once today.

- [Veronica] Hmm?

- Nothing, nothing, look just
help me get this off, okay?

- Not until you save me.

Help, somebody save me.

- What's wrong with you girl, I'm tired.

- Detective Rafferty is not the only one

who wants to smooch a super hero.

Now, get your costumed butt in gear

and sweep me off my feet.

Help, oh please, somebody help.

- The things I do for you.

This looks like a job
for the Argyle Avenger.

- Oh, my hero.

- Tonight, I will be.

(lips smacking)

Oh, being a super hero
definitely has its advantages.

Let's go and do what super heroes do best.

- Will you hurry up and take the picture?

- What's going on?

- Eh, Strickland spent another
night in the squad room.

- Yeah, no more crap
assignments for us, buddy.

- Is Flash Point back?

- If he is, I'm sure you save us.

- [Henry] What the hell
are you talking about?

- I think it's the costume, Cap.

- My costume.

Oh, uh right.

My wife called me a super idiot,
threw me out of the house.

- Captain, excitement in a relationship

doesn't come form putting on a costume.

It comes from romance.

- [Henry] After years.

- After years, you know your
wife better than anyone else

in the world, and you
know what makes her happy.

That's what's romantic.

Let me ask you this, when's
the last time you bought her

flower or even took her to
her favorite restaurant huh?

- I don't remember.

- [Darcy] Maybe that's the problem.

- Yeah, maybe you're right.

Thanks, Walker.

I'll give it a try.

- What kind of advice is that?

- Maybe you'd like this advice better,

wear boots and stand down wind.

- [Slugger] Down wind from what?

- The horses.

You two are on poop patrol in the park.

- Ah.

- How's that for a crap assignment?

- Oh man.

- That was pretty good
advice you gave the captain.

- Yeah, well I think I'll be
taking your advice instead.

- And what advice would that be?

- From now on I'm gonna be more

like the Black Scorpion, you know.

- Keep you men guessing
with a little mystery.

- Come on Darc, we're partners,

you can't hide anything from me.

- Well maybe not, but who knows.

Maybe someday I'll even surprise you.
