The whole kind of idea
for this train car

that was kind of this horror show

of... of these really twisted
medical experiments

ultimately came out of us
thinking about June's story

and what it could be that would
really set June off,

the thing that PADRE
could have forced her to do

that would... would
kind of be beyond the pale.

I used to work here.

How come we never heard about it?

It was off the books.

PADRE didn't want anyone to know.

Experiments they were conducting.

It was worse than dying from the bites.

Shrike tried to force me
to administer the treatments,

but I wouldn't do it, so I ran.

The more we talked about it,
kind of the more excited we got

and... and just thinking of
all the really scary visuals

we could create.

It also allowed for the lighting
of the episode

to be just really moody,

and it just ended up
being kind of this gauntlet

that June had to traverse
that put her kind of

into direct confrontation with her past

and all these things that
PADRE had forced her to do.

[WALKER GROWLING]

I figured it was you
as soon as the Collectors

started showing up to the island
without fingers.

PADRE's got something planned.

You need to pick up where you left off.

a little motivation.

CHAMBLISS: I think it's probably
one of the most brutal scenes

that we've seen on... on "Fear".

And it really does paint Shrike

in just a really,
really kind of vicious light.

But it also raises a bunch
of questions about Shrike,

about what happened in her past.

DWIGHT: Finch, wake up!

At the end of this episode,

she's really scratching
at this with Morgan

and wondering why... why he
doesn't feel he can protect Mo.

MADISON: What's holding you back?

- She needs you.
- What are you saying?

You need to do whatever it takes
so you can move forward.

She knows how important it is

for Morgan to be able to fight for Mo.

And she's doing everything she
can to make that happen for him.
