I'm playing hide and seek with my friend Pablito.

He's a little red-eyed tree frog.

Do you see a frog?

Hey, you found him!

On my shoulder?

Hey, for a little guy, you sure can hop!

ANIMAL [ crying]: Wah, wah...

Uh-oh, that sounds like an animal's in trouble.

Hey, Alicia.

Hi, Diego.

That's my sister.

Diego, we've got to find out which animal's in trouble.

Right, Alicia.

We need our special camera, Click, to find the animal.

BOTH: Say "Click"!

and listen to the animal that goes...

No, that's a puma.

[ purring]

No, that's a spectacled bear.

Wah, wah.

The animal in trouble is a chinchilla.

Great!

Chinchilla!

To take a picture of the chinchilla, say "click."

Alicia, what can you find out

about chinchillas?

Let's use the computer to help us learn about chinchillas.

ALICIA: Look at the chinchilla's big ears.

Do you see the chinchilla's big ears?

DIEGO:Where?

Yeah!

They have big ears so they can hear

when scary animals are close by.

And a chinchilla's big eyes

help her see really well in the dark.

What do chinchillas eat?

[ nibbling]

Leaves-- right!

And look at her hop.

Chinchillas love to hop.

They can hop really high.

CHINCHILLA: Wah, wah.

i¡Ayúdenme!

Wah, wah.

DIEGO: Hey, that's Chinta, the baby chinchilla.

She's calling for help.

Oh, no!

Chinta the baby chinchilla is on a tree branch,

and she could fall into the water.

Chinchillas don't swim.

i¡Ayúdenme!

Wah, wah.

We've got to save Chinta

and bring her back to her chinchilla family.

I'm putting all of the chinchilla's information

into your field journal, Diego.

We need something that will fly us down the waterfall.

My rescue pack can transform into anything we need.

To activate my rescue pack, say "actívate."

Diego needs me to change into something

to fly down the waterfall.

Can a wagon fly us down the waterfall?

Can a bicycle fly us down the waterfall?

Can a telephone fly us down the waterfall?

No, that's silly.

Who ever heard of a flying telephone?

Can a hang glider fly us down the waterfall?

Yes, it can!

Tell Diego he needs a hang glider.

What do we need?

A hang glider.

BOBOS: Bobo! Bobo!

[ giggling]

DIEGO: Oh, no, it's the Bobo Brothers!

Those naughty monkeys are always causing trouble.

BOBOS: Bobo! Bobo!

[ both giggling]

DIEGO: Those silly Bobo Brothers keep netting each other.

Uh-oh, the Bobo Brothers might net the baby chinchilla.

The chinchilla's scared.

We got to stop the Bobos.

To stop the Bobos, say "Freeze, Bobos!"

BOBOS: Whoops! Sorry.

DIEGO: Oh, no, the branch is breaking, and chinchillas can't swim!

Help me reach out for Chinta.

Put your hands out in front of you and reach.

Catch her! Catch her!

Catch her!

We got her!

Great catching!

Gracias, gracias.

A chinchilla's fur is so warm and cuddly.

[ rumbling]

¿Tienes mucha hambre?

Sí.

Chinta speaks Spanish.

She says she is very hungry.

Do chinchillas like to eat worms, papayas or leaves?

Leaves-- right.

i¡Mami, Papi!

Quiero a mi mami y a mi papi.

Chinta misses her mamiand papi.

She's so happy we're bringing her back

to her mamiand papi,

she's doing the hoppy dance!

We have to get Chinta back to her family.

Let's check my field journal and find out where chinchillas live.

The mountains, yes!

Wow!

Look at all those chinchillas.

Come on, we've got to find the Chinchilla Mountain.

I don't see the Chinchilla Mountain.

Maybe my spotting scope can help me find it.

Make a spotting scope with your hands

to look for the Chinchilla Mountain.

Now do you see the Chinchilla Mountain?

There it is!

Wow, there sure are a lot of chinchillas

on Chinchilla Mountain.

Chinchillas have really big families.

I'm taking her back to her mamiand papi.

I'm sure they miss her very much.

Then you'd better hop high like chinchillas

and hop over us.

[ puma growling]

We need your help to hop over the cactus.

You have to stand up to hop over the cactus.

Stand up, please.

Stand up, stand up and get ready to hop.

And... hop!

Look, Señor Puma's getting closer.

Hop higher!

Hop! i¡Brinca!

And look, the cactus family is stretching way up high

so Señor Puma can't hop over them.

Yeah, we made it over the cactus field!

You are a great hopper.

We're so happy, we're doing the chinchilla hoppy dance.

She's so cute and funny.

CHINCHILLAS [ crying]: Wah, wah.

Mami, Papi...

Hey, that sounds like Chinta's mamiand papi.

We're getting close to Chinta's home.

Let's go, amigos.

Uh-oh, we have to go through this cave

to get to Chinchilla Mountain.

That cave looks dark.

Yo puedo ver, Diego.

i¡Vamos!

Hey, Chinta can help us.

Chinchillas have big eyes

that can help them see in the dark.

And their big ears help them hear

if scary animals are close by.

i¡Vámonos, amigos!

Remember, we have to listen carefully

for the sound of the chinchillas.

CHINCHILLAS [ calling]: Wah, wah.

Are the chinchilla sounds coming from the first path

or the second path?

Sí,the second path is the way to the chinchillas.

What's on the first path?

[ rattling]

Snakes!

Chinchillas are afraid of snakes.

Come on, let's go down the second path.

Now there are three paths.

CHINCHILLAS [ calling]: Wah, wah.

Yes, the first path is the way to the chinchillas.

Come on, let's follow Chinta out of the cave.

Yay! We made it all the way through the cave.

Chinta's big ears and big eyes helped us get out of the cave.

And look, there's the Chinchilla Mountain!

Do you see all the chinchillas?

Yeah, there they are.

i¡Mami, Papi!

It's cold on Chinchilla Mountain.

But chinchillas don't get cold.

They have a warm and cozy fur.

I'd better turn my vest into a coat.

We've got to bring Chinta back to her mamiand papi.

Chinta can't wait to see her mamiand papi.

Look at her hop!

Wow, this mountain is so rocky.

We can't run up the mountain or walk up the mountain.

The best way for Chinta to get all the way up

to the top of the mountain is to...

hop!

Remember, Chinta speaks Spanish.

To tell Chinta to hop, we say "brinca."

Great.

Now I'll sing "brinca," then you sing "brinca."

We hopped to the top of the mountain.

DIEGO: They're so "hoppy" to see each other.

Diego me and.

Diego, you helped Chinta get home?

Sí, Papi Chinchilla.

It looks like everyone is "hoppy" to see Chinta home.

We saved Chinta the baby chinchilla and brought her home!
