We're animal scientists.

In the rain forest,

trees are used for lots of things.

And different animals live in trees.

We've got to find them.

so we can look for their tails.

DIEGO: Do you see their tails?

I'm so glad you found us.

What happened?

We were searching for food for our family

when we slipped and fell into the prickly thorns.

And we got boo-boos.

Don't worry. We're animal rescuers.

We'll help you out of the prickly thorns.

Prickly thorns are very pointy.

I'll need my special gloves

to push the thorns out of the way.

Now it's safe to reach inside.

Help us reach inside.

Put your hands out in front of you

There are trees in the rain forest

that are used like medicine.

They're healing trees.

We've got to find a healing tree

to make the boo-boos feel better.

My rain forest tree book can help us.

Look. This is the healing tree.

It's called a Sangre de Grado tree.

It has little white flowers...

and an orange liquid inside

that helps heal boo-boos like a bandage.

Let's find the healing tree with little white flowers.

Is it the the first tree,

Come on, amigos. Let's go!

[ snoring]

The healing tree is asleep.

Well, we've really got to wake him up.

But you can't eat tree bark.

but the marmoset uses its sharp teeth

to cut through the tree bark to get the sap they need for food.

That's a guaba tree.

Pygmy marmosets love to eat tree sap

from a guaba tree.

We've got to get some sap and bring it to our family quick!

DIEGO: Pygmy marmosets, wait!

Oh, no!

They've gone into the Hawk Forest!

Pygmy marmosets are afraid of hawks!

[ hawk screeching]

Uh-oh, a hawk!

We've got to help Papi

and Little Pygmy Marmoset get away from the hawk!

Pygmy marmosets are really great jumpers.

They can jump away from the hawk.

Will you help the pygmy marmosets

jump away from the hawk?

Great!

DIEGO: We have to tell the pygmy marmosets when to jump.

[ screeching]

DIEGO: Do you see a hawk?

Yell "jump!"

ALICIA: They heard you and jumped away from the hawk!

Now they can come out.

DIEGO: Is that a hawk?

No. That's a butterfly!

ALICIA: Is that a hawk?

No. That's a little ladybug!

[ screeching]

DIEGO: Is that a hawk?

Yes!

Yell "jump!"

They heard you and jumped away.

ALICIA: The hawk went away for good.

Now they can come out.

Good job!

Now the pygmy marmosets

can get the tree sap for their family.

And look!

We made it to the tree with tree sap!

To get the tree sap, they have to get up to that tree branch.

Pygmy marmosets get up trees

by hopping from branch to branch.

In English, we say, "hop".

In Spanish, we say "brinca."

Now we can bring the tree sap to our family!

[ in distance]: Siii! Siii!

They must be so hungry!

We need to get back to our tree fast!

We need something that can fly us down to the river fast.
