Oh, hi!

[barks]

You're here!

Welcome to the pajama party.

[barks]

Do you like my pajamas?

These are my favorite, fluffiest pajamas.

And my fuzzy bunny slippers.

[Mrs. Pepper] Oh, Josh!

[Mr. Salt] Come see, come see!

Let's go to the kitchen and see what's going on! [barks]

Ahem, I think my bunny slippers would like to hop there.

[barks]

- Oh. - Oh. - Oh, wow!

Whoa, the sun.

What's it doing?

[kids] It's going down.

Oh, the sun is going down.

That is awesome.

As the sun sets, it gets darker until it's night time.

[babies yawn]

Time to put the babies to bed.

- I'm going to go put on my pajamas! - Goodnight Sage and Ginger. Sweet dreams!

So, Blue, let's do something extra special

for our pajama party.

What do you want to do?

[musical barks]

Oh!

We'll play a night time game of Blue's Clues

to figure out what Blue wants to do at the pajama party!

♪ We are going to play Blue's Clues ♪

because it's a really great game.

So, remember, Blue's paw print will be on the clues,

Blue's Clues.

Is that paw print yawning?

Oh no now it's making me yawn.

Are you yawning too?

Excuse me little pawprint, it's time for you to go to bed.

Nighty night!

To play Blue's Clues, we got to find a...

[kids] Paw print!

Right a paw print.

Cause that's our first...

[kids] Clue!

Yeah, a clue!

Then we put it in our?

Notebook!

♪ Put it on our notebook cause they're whose clues? ♪

♪ Blue's Clues! ♪

♪ We got to find another paw print, ♪

♪ that's the second clue. ♪

♪ Put it on our notebook cause they're whose clues? ♪

♪ Blue's Clues! ♪

♪ We got to find the last paw print. ♪

♪ That's the third clue, ♪

♪ put it in our notebook ♪

♪ cause they're whose clues? ♪

♪ Blue's Clues ♪

You know what to do.

♪ Sit down in our Thinking' Chair ♪

♪ And think, think, think ♪

♪ Cause when you use your mind ♪

♪ Take a step at a time, ♪

♪ You can do anything ♪

♪ that you want to do. ♪

[yawns]

[kids laughing]

Um, No I was not yawning,

I was stretching my mouth, you see,

Yeah, I was yawning.

You know I'm really going to need your help

figuring out what Blue

wants to do at the pajama party.

Will you help me?

Great?

Did you see which way Blue went?

[barks]

[kids] That way!

That way! Thank you.

♪ It's getting dark outside for Blue's Clues, ♪

♪ night time game of Blue's Clues, ♪

♪ flick on the light for Blue's Clues. ♪

♪ It's getting dark outside. ♪

[kids] A clue!

Who? You?

[kids] No, a clue!

Oh! You said a clue.

Wait where?

[kids] There!

That sleeping bag.

There's a clue on the sleeping bag.

You know what we need, our handy, dandy?

[kids] Notebook!

Notebook! Right.

So, a sleeping bag.

A line that curves around like this,

another line for the bottom,

and a zipper.

And there, a sleeping bag.

So what could Blue wants to do at the pajama party

with a sleeping bag?

Hmm...

Maybe...

But I think we better find two more clues. [Shovel] Look! There!

Josh!

Oh, hi!

Josh, look a squirrel is sleeping.

And that bird.

Some animals are awake, but we don't know who.

Listen!

[distant hooting]

Will you help us figure out which animals are awake?

Great!

[distant hooting]

C'mon.

[hooting]

I think I'm going to need your night eyes.

Do you see what animal is making that sound?

[hooting]

[kids] The owl.

Oh, the owl is making that hoot hoot hooting sound.

[hooting]

Why are you awake?

I sleep during the day.

Oh, wow.

So, your asleep when we're awake

and your awake?

When you sleep.

Very different schedules.

[distant squeaking]

Listen, we hear another animal sound.

[distant squeaking]

Have a good night owl.

It's been a real hoot hoot hoot.

[all laugh]

[distant squeaking]

Do you see what animal is making that sound?

[distant squeaking]

[kids] The bat, right there.

Is that?

A bat?

Your right about that!

Well fancy that.

Why are you hanging upside down?

Maybe, it's sleeping.

Nope, just resting.

I don't sleep until later.

Thanks for your help,

we've got to get ready for bed.

Oh, right.

See you later bat.

It was nice hanging with you.

[kids] A clue!

Oh, yeah, the light is coming from that lamp.

[kids] No, a clue!

Yeah, it is kind of bright.

[kids] A clue!

Oh! Wait, you see a clue?

Where?

Right over there.

There's a clue on that lamp.

We better put this lamp clue in our handy, dandy?

[kids] Notebook!

Notebook right.

Hey, my notebook kind of looks different in the dark.

Cool.

Ok, a lamp.

First, we draw the lamp shade like this,

a curve here

and a line down here for the post

and some lines here.

There, a lamp.

So what was our first clue?

[kids] A sleeping bag!

A sleeping bag right,

and now our second clue is a lamp.

So what could Blue want to do at her pajama party tonight

with a sleeping bag and a lamp?

Do you know?

Maybe!

But I think we better find out last clue

♪ Mail time... Mail time... Mail time... Mail time... ♪

The mail's here!

At night.

We'd better whisper

because we have some sleeping friends inside.

Come on.

♪ Here's the mail, it never fails ♪

♪ it makes me want to wag my tail, ♪

♪ when it comes, I want to wail ♪

♪ mail! ♪

[whispers] Mail!

Evening Josh.

[yawns] Hi, Mailbox.

Here's your package!

A package!

Thanks, Mailbox.

You're welcome. Sleep tight!

We just got a package!

♪ We just got a package! ♪

♪ I wonder who it's from ♪

It's a package from my grandma.

Ooh!

A cozy blanket for night time.

Why is there night?

I mean it's kind of like somebody turned out the light

or, wrapped a big blanket

around all of us.

[barks]

Amazing idea, Blue!

We can skidoo to find out why there's night.

We can be astronauts

who wear comfy pajamas.

Or...

[hums fanfare]

We can be,

pajama-nauts!

[musical barks]

Come on!

♪ Blue skidoo we can too. ♪

Whoa!

Ok, pajama-nauts, our mission is to explore

the starry sky in search of the meaning of night.

[barks]

Oh, where's all that light coming from?

Come on.

Oh!

The sun, hey sun!

Wait what are you doing up at night?

Well, I'm the sun.

A star's that's always shining light.

Always shining day or night?

But then, why is it dark at night?

Psst, maybe I can help!

Who are you?

A very important planet.

Your home!

Oh, the planet earth!

Hey, I can see our house!

[barks]

So is it light or dark where our house is?

[kids] It's dark.

Mmm, Oh, it's dark.

Right!

But if its dark over here, why is it light over there?

Well, the light comes from me.

It's day time where I'm shining.

But I thought the sun was always shining?

I am!

But I'm just not shining on your house right now.

Your house is in a shadow.

See?

[barks]

Oh, yeah!

Look at this.

Over here in the shadow it's dark.

That's night!

Yeah!

Ah, and over here where the sun is shining it's day!

Pretty clever huh?

Oh well hold on, hold on, hold on.

It isn't always going to be night at our house is it?

No!

Well how do you think it changes from night to day?

Psst, over here.

It's something I'm doing.

I'm spinning and when I spin around this way,

your house will go from night to day.

The earth is spinning, that's how we go from day to night

and night to day.

Amazing discovery pajama-nauts.

So, the sun is always shining?

[kids] Light!

Light! Right.

And the earth is always?

Spinning!

Spinning.

When the sun shines on us, it's?

[kids] Day!

Day.

And when the sun's not shining on us it's?

[kids] Night!

Right!

Because we're in a great big shadow.

That's night!

Right!

It's getting late pajama-nauts,

we better get back home to earth.

[barks]

Bye!

[musical barks]

[kids] A clue!

Hm, oh yeah let's go look at the moon!

[kids] No, a clue!

There. Right there!

Right there?

Oh there is a clue!

Right there on that book.

You know what we need?

Our handy, dandy?

[kids] Notebook!

Notebook. Right.

Ok. So. A book.

So we start with a line like this

for the outside of the book,

some lines here for the pages

and a line down here for the binding.

There, a book.

So, a book is our third clue.

We have all three clues!

Do you know what that means?

We're ready to sit in our?

[kids] Thinking chair!

Thinking chair! C'mon.

Ok, now that we're in our thinking chair,

let's think.

So, will you help me?

Great! So, we're trying to figure out what Blue wants to do

at our pajama party tonight and our clues are,

a sleeping bag,

a lamp,

and a book.

So what could Blue want to do at our pajama party

with a sleeping bag,

a lamp, and a book?

Well, a lamp gives us?

[kids] Light!

Light. Right.

Light to see...

Something.

Hmm.

Oh well maybe we could get in our sleeping bag

and turn on the lamp

then what could we see?

The book!

Right!

Then what would we be doing?

[Josh] Reading a book!

Reading a book!

That's it!

Blue wants to get in her sleeping bag

and read a book by the light of a lamp.

We just figured out Blue's Clues.

♪ because we're really smart! ♪

It's bed time at the pajama party!

It's bed time at the pajama party!

[barks]

Come on!

I'm so excited!

Pajama party!

Alright! Story time!

Goodnight bird.

It's one of Blue's favorites!

Alright, is everyone ready?

[all cheer]

Ok, ahem, on a tree

on a hill, lived a bird that would not sleep.

"I'm not tired" Bird said as the sun went down,

and the moon lit up.

Sleep said the moon

now I mean that,

you're a little bird you're not a bat.

"But I'm not tired"

Bird said with a yawn.

[yawns]

And the owl woke up and the stars came out.

"Sleep", said the Stars. "We saw you yawn,

now lay your beak down and don't wake till dawn."

"But I'm not tired,"

Bird said one more time,

and he closed his eyes

and began to snore,

and he snored, and he snored,

and he snored.

The end.

Great story!
