♪ Everybody's looking for "Blue's Clues and You" ♪

♪ Come on in, come on in, it's "Blue's Clues", hey you ♪

♪ Step by step-- yes, clue by clue ♪

♪ Let's think it through, it's

♪ It's "Blue's Clues and You"

- Oh, hi.

We were just getting ready to walk to Blue's school.

- [Blue speaking]

- It's going to be a very exciting day!

Everybody is going to be trying something new.

And I'm trying something new too.

- [Blue speaking]

- I'm going to be teacher for the day!

I've been practicing my teacher voice and everything.

- Ba, ba, ba

- Oh, do you want to hear it? - [Blue speaking]

- Great! Okay, okay. [clears throat] Oh, students?

- [Blue speaking]

- I am very excited to try it out at school.

- [Blue speaking] - Oh.

Hey, what's wrong, Blue? You look a little nervous.

Are you nervous about going to school?

- No, no, no, no

- Hmm, are you nervous about trying something new

at school today?

- [Blue speaking]

- Oh, well, what are you nervous to try?

- [Blue singing]

- Oh, we'll play "Blue's Clues" to figure out

what Blue is nervous to try.

♪ We are gonna play Blue's Clues ♪

♪ 'Cause it's a really great game ♪

Okay, now remember, Blue's pawprint will be on the clues.

"Blue's Clues".

Oh, we should probably clean this pawprint up

before we go to school.

[clears throat] Oh, Pawprint?

♪ Clean up, clean up now

♪ Everyone, let's clean up, clean up now until its done ♪

♪ Let's clean up, clean up now ♪

Wow.

Hey, you know, what we need to play "Blue's Clues"?

Our handy, dandy? - KIDS: Notebook!

- Notebook. Right, come on. - [whistling]

- "Blue's Clues"? I'm so excited.

Here's your notebook. - Oop, hmm, mm-mm.

Thanks, Side Table Drawer. - You're welcome.

- [whistling]

- You know, I can tell I'm really gonna need your help

today figuring out what Blue is nervous to try.

Will you help me?

You will? Great!

To play "Blue's Clues" we gotta find a?

- KIDS: Pawprint.

- Right, a pawprint, 'cause that's our first?

- KIDS: Clue!

- Yeah, a clue. And we put it in our?

- KIDS: Notebook!

- ♪ Put it in our notebook 'cause they're whose clues? ♪

- JOSH & KIDS: ♪ Blue's Clues

- ♪ We gotta find another pawprint ♪

♪ 'Cause that's the second clue ♪

♪ Put it in our notebook

♪ 'Cause they're whose clues?

- JOSH, BLUE & KIDS: ♪ Blue's Clues

- ♪ We gotta find the last pawprint ♪

♪ That's the third clue

♪ Put it in our notebook 'cause they're whose clues? ♪

- JOSH, BLUE & KIDS: ♪ Blues Clues

- ♪ You know what to do!

♪ Sit down in our thinking chair and think, think, think ♪

♪ 'Cause when you use your mind ♪

♪ Take a step at a time

♪ You can do anything

♪ That you wanna do

- [Blue speaking]

- Oh.

It's okay, Blue.

Whatever it is you're nervous to try,

we'll do our best to help you.

Now, let's get to school.

- [Blue speaking] - Come on.

And off we go!

- [Blue speaking]

- School, here we come.

- [Blue speaking]

- Wow, look at that. The new school playground.

- [Blue speaking] - Come on.

Whoa, it's got swings, a spinny thing and a giant, swirly slide!

It looks like so much fun!

- [horn honks] - Oh.

- Have fun on the new playground.

- Woohoo, yeah, I can't wait! - Yeah!

- [Blue speaking]

- Oh. - [Blue speaking]

- Oh, Blue still looks nervous. - [Blue speaking]

- We really need to find those clues.

See you later, School Bus!

- KID: A clue, a clue! - KID: Right there.

- Wait! You see a clue? Where?

- KID: There, on the steps!

- Oh.

It's on the steps.

Oh, we need to put this clue

in our handy dandy...

- KIDS: Notebook!

- Notebook! Right.

[humming] Okay, so our first clue is steps.

We'll draw a line that goes over and down, over and down,

across and back up. There, steps.

Hmm, so what could Blue be nervous to try with steps?

[gasps] Could be!

Hmm, but I think we should find two more clues just to be sure.

- [bell rings] - Oh, come on.

- Good morning, students. - Good morning, Ms. Marigold.

- While I finish setting up the new playground,

Mr. Josh is going to be our new teacher for the day.

- Oh.

I-uh, I've never done this before, so I'm a little nervous.

- That's exactly what today is all about.

Trying new things.

And whenever we try something new today,

we'll put a pompom in the discovery jar.

Let's see how many pompoms we can collect.

- Can we put one in now? - [Blue speaking]

- Well, we have to try something new first,

like singing a new song! - [Blue speaking]

- ♪ New things, new things,

♪ So much we can do, let's try somethin' new ♪

♪ You can make it like a game

♪ We can take it slow

♪ And when you're done you've got to say ♪

♪ I've tried it and now I know

♪ New things, new things,

♪ So much we can do, let's try something new, ♪

♪ We know somethin' more we didn't know before ♪

♪ New things

- [cheering]

- Well done.

Okay, snack time is next, and everyone brought

a new veggie to try. Have fun, Mr. Josh.

- Oh, oh, um, all right, students, snack time.

- Yes, Mr. Josh!

- Let's go. - Yay.

- It worked.

Okay, I need to help these students try a new veggie.

Will you be my teacher's helper?

- KIDS: Yeah! - Oh, thanks!

Hey Pearl. So do you have a new veggie to try?

- Yep, it's the one that feels bumpy.

- Ah, the bumpy one, eh? Okay. Oh.

So which veggie is the bumpy one?

Hmm. The celery, the carrot or the baby corn?

- KIDS: The baby corn!

- Yeah! That's it, the baby corn.

Give it a try, Pearl.

- Kinda soft, kinda sweet.

I like baby corn.

I tried it and now I know. - Nice.

So what's new, Periwinkle?

- My new veggie is brightly colored.

- Oh. Brightly colored.

So is it the broccoli,

the cauliflower

or the mushroom?

- KIDS: The broccoli!

- Totally! Bright, green broccoli!

- Hmm. - You can do it, Periwinkle!

Oh, remember the song.

♪ You can make it like a game

- Oh, what if I'm a giant and this is a little, tiny tree?

Fi fo fiddly fee. I'm gonna take a bite of a tree.

Meh, it's okay. [laughs] But it was fun to eat.

I tried it and now I know.

- Which veggie is new for you, Purple Kangaroo?

- The one that has different colors inside and out.

- Ooh, hmm. So would it be the carrot slice,

the beet slice

or the radish slice?

- KIDS: The radish slice!

- Ah, yeah!

The radish is red on the outside and white on the inside.

- Hmm. - Oh, it's okay.

Remember, ♪ you can take it slow

- Hmm.

Wow! I love it.

Mm, I tried it and now I know.

- Nice.

- [Blue speaking]

- Blue, is that what you were nervous to try today?

The new veggie? - [Blue speaking]

- Ah, I guess not.

- [Blue speaking]

- All right, students. Free choice time!

And soon we'll all go play on the new playground.

- Yay!

- Blue? Come on. Hmm.

Blue? Blue? Hmm.

- KIDS: A clue. A clue.

- A clue? Oh! Where? [humming]

Oh! It's on that orange paint.

Orange must be our second clue.

We need to put this clue

in our handy, dandy...

- KIDS: Notebook! - Notebook! Right.

Okay, and there.

So, orange. Ah, we'll use our orange crayon.

We'll draw a wavy shape and fill it in

with the color orange.

There. Orange.

So, ooh. What was our first clue?

- KIDS: Steps!

- Steps! Right.

And now our second clue is the color orange. Hmm.

So what is Blue nervous to try with steps and the color orange?

Hmm.

Ooh, maybe!

But I think we should find our last clue just to be sure.

- MAILBOX: ♪ Mail time, mail time, mail time, mail time ♪

- The mail's here. At school.

♪ Here's the mail it never fails ♪

♪ it makes me want to wag my tail, ♪

♪ when it comes, I want to wail maiiillll ♪

- [Blue speaking]

- Oh, hiya, Josh.

I've got a letter for the teacher for the day.

- That's me!

Thanks Mailbox. - You're welcome.

We just got a letter!

♪ We just got a letter ♪

♪ I wonder who it's from

Oh! It's a letter from our friend Rainbow Puppy!

- [Blue speaking] - Hey, Josh and Blue.

♪ I love music

So today, I'm trying an instrument I've never played,

the drums!

♪ Awesome

Maybe tomorrow I'll try the tuba. Ta-ta.

- Bye. - [Blue speaking]

- Sometimes when you try something new,

it makes it easier to try other new things. Right, Blue?

- [Blue speaking]

- Blue? Come on!

- [Blue speaking]

- Oh, still feelin' nervous, Blue?

- Boo hoo hoo. - What was that?

- [Blue speaking]

- Whoa! Blue just skidooed into that picture!

Let's go!

♪ Blue skidoo, we can too ♪

- Wow. - [Blue speaking]

- It looks like a little schoolyard.

- [Blue speaking]

- Oh. - Boo hoo hoo.

- What's wrong, little chick? - It's the first day at school.

I don't know any other chicks here and I'm lonely.

- Oh. - [Blue speaking]

- What do you think the little chick should do?

Keep playing ball by himself

or ask a new friend to play with him?

What should he do?

- KID: Ask a new friend to play with him.

- Ah.

- Yeah, I'll ask someone to play!

- [Blue speaking]

- Hi, would like to play ball? - Okay.

- Aw, he made a new friend to play with.

- [Blue speaking] - [sighs]

- Everything okay, little chick?

- I want to play that game too, but I don't know how.

- What should he do? Hmm.

Ask if they can teach him how to play the game or

just stick to games he already knows?

What should he do?

- KID: Ask if they can teach him!

- Ah. - [Blue speaking]

- Okay, I'll ask! - [Blue speaking]

- Excuse me. I like that game.

Can you teach me how to play? - Yeah!

- You can only touch the ball with your feet, not your wings.

Try it! - Uh.

- [laughing] - [Blue speaking]

- Nice! He learned a new game and met new friends.

- Wee! - [chicks cheeping]

- Whoa! That chick just took our ball away!

- [Blue speaking] - What are they gonna do?

Should they take their ball back or

talk to that chick about what she did.

What should they do? Hmm.

- KIDS: Talk to her!

- Yeah, let's go talk to her. - [Blue speaking]

- We were playing with that ball.

- Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know.

- It's okay. Let's all play together!

- Wow!

By talking it out, they made a bunch of new friendships.

Have fun little chicks. - [Blue speaking]

- [chicks giggling]

- Lot's of new things happen on the first day of school,

but those little chicks handled them so well.

- KIDS: A clue, a clue! There's a clue!

- A clue? Ah, I don't see one.

Oh, there it is.

And it's on that spiral.

Let's put this spiral clue

in our handy, dandy?

- KIDS: Notebook! - Notebook! Right.

Okay, and there.

So a spiral.

We'll draw one line that goes around and around.

There, a spiral. Our last clue.

We have all three clues.

That means we're ready to sit in our?

- KIDS: Thinking chair! - Thinking chair! Come on.

- [Blue speaking]

- Okay, now that we're in our classroom-thinking chair,

let's think.

So we need to figure out what Blue is nervous to try.

And our clues are [clears throat]

steps, okay.

The color orange, okay.

And a spiral.

Huh. Hmm.

So what could Blue be nervous to try with steps,

the color orange and a spiral?

Huh...

Oh. Well, have we seen anything that looks like

an orange-colored spiral

with steps leading up to it?

Oh.

- KIDS: The slide! The playground slide!

- The slide in the new playground!

Are you nervous to try the new slide, Blue?

- [Blue speaking]

- We just figured out "Blue's Clues"!

- [Blue speaking]

- ♪ We just figured out Blue's Clues ♪

♪ Because we're really smart

- [Blue speaking] - All right, everyone.

Time to play on the new playground!

- Yay! - [Blue speaking]

- Come on. - Wee!

- Wow. - [Blue speaking]

- Come on, let's go.

- Hello. - Hi, Ms. Marigold.

- [giggling]

- [Blue speaking]

- Are you sure you want to try the new slide, Blue?

Even though you're nervous about it?

- [Blue speaking]

- Well, if that's what you wanna do,

then we'll help you do it!

- ♪ Oh, we can make it like a game ♪

This is Space Commander Josh,

are you ready for your big space mission, Blue?

- [Blue speaking]

- JOSH: ♪ You can take it slow

- [Blue speaking]

- Prepare for blast-off!

- You can do it, Blue!

- Let's all start the countdown together!

Here we go! Three, two, one, blast off!

- [Blue speaking]

- Woo-hoo! - Nice job, Blue!

- She did it and she loved it.

- [Blue speaking]

- Way to go, Blue.

- All right. - Great job.

- [Blue speaking]

- Thank you so much for trying so many

new things with us today.

We couldn't have made these new discoveries without you!

Now it's time for so long - [Blue speaking]

- ♪ But we're gonna sing one more song ♪

♪ Thanks for doing your part

♪ You sure are smart
