I'm Hubba Hubba talking

to you from Hoobland,

and I'm about to send

four of my favorite Hoobs

down to Earth to find

out all about you

for my great Hoobapedia.

Here they come!

How sparkly is that?

Now then, is it more sparkly

or less sparkly than this?

Hmmm.

- I'm sorting

through my collection

of things that sparkle.

Only I could do with some

more things to put in it.

- I've just the thing!

- Certainly is, Iver.

There's no time for

presents right now.

We need to decide

what hoobs everywhere

would like to know about today.

We need a question,

for Hoobnews.

- Yeah.

Hey, have you ever thought

what life would be like,

you know, if Hoobs

didn't ask questions?

- Life would be terrible Groove!

If we Hoobs didn't

ask questions,

we wouldn't be Hoobs, would we?

It's what Hoobs are for!

- Without any questions,

there wouldn't be any answers.

- No, and we'd know absolutely

nothing about anything.

So, down to business,

A question for Hoobnews please!

- Uh, I haven't

thought of one Iver.

I've been too busy

giving Groove his

sparkly present!

- Yes, and I've been

too busy getting it.

- Aren't presents

hoobledoobleduper?

- Yeah. -

I wonder if Peeps give

each other presents.

- Well, I'm sure they do Groove,

but as I said, we haven't really

got time for presents now.

- Peeps give presents.

Do you think they give them

for the same reason

that Hoobs give them?

- Tula!

- I mean, when we

want a present,

we just ask for one

and we get one.

- Right!

So, why do Peeps give

each other presents?

- Oh, it's Hubba Hubba!

(electrical noises)

- Why do Peeps give

That's a fantaby-hooby

question for today's Hoobnews.

- [Hoobs] - Wahey!

Peeps wrap up their

My present was the

sparkly paper! (laughing)

sparkle, I ordered this

sparkly tape from Hoobnet.

all these presents!

I've never seen so

many in one place.

Who are they for?

- For me!

- For you?

Why have you got

all these presents?

- Because it's my birthday.

- Ooh, that sounds hoobatious.

So, you get presents

on your birthday?

- Yes, because it's

your special day!

- Oh, that is interesting.

A birthday is a great

reason to give presents.

You wrap all of these

presents in sparkly paper?

- Yes!

- This paper is

truly hoobatious.

Are you going to keep it

with all your presents?

- No, would you like it?

- Ooh, I would, yes please!

- Now we can make

the hoobystudio look

like a big present

for Hoobnews!

a really important time for

Peeps and Tiddlypeeps

to give presents!

- Yeah, and Iver is bringing

- Well, now we know that Peeps

give each other presents to

celebrate the day

they were born.

That is such a

hoobatious reason.

Wouldn't it be fun

for Hoobs to do that?

- But Hoobs are all born

on the same day, Iver.

- Oh yes, that's true.

We're all born on the same day.

- Yeah, imagine

how hoobmongulously

huge a Hoob birthday

party would be!

- Oh (laughing) yes!

- Oh, now I've had an idea!

If the hoobystudio is going to

be sparkly like a present and

Hubba Hubba is sparkly like

a present, then I think

we should be sparkly too!

So I'm going to make something

sparkly for us to wear when

we do Hoobnews.

Right, I'll need this and some

hoobyscissors which

are next door.

- Oh, well we've got the answer!

Peeps and Tiddlypeeps give

presents on birthdays!

- Yes but, you know, there

might be other reasons for

present giving, after all,

birthdays only come once a year!

I'm sure Tiddlypeeps get

presents more often that that.

- You're right Groove.

There must be another

reason somewhere, but where?

♪ Where, where, where, where? ♪

('Roma' echoing repeatedly)

- Oh wait, here comes Roma.

Tula, Tula, it's time

for Roma's report!

- Oh, thank you!

- Maybe Roma will have found out

some other reasons

for giving presents!

(electrical noises)

- Hoobledoop, Hoobs.

- Hoobledoop, Roma!

- Now, as you can see, I'm on

a farm and I've been helping

the farmer with all the animals

which is fantaby-hooby fun!

The cows are my

absolute favorites!

But most hooberlygroovily of

all, the farmer has promised to

give me a present...

- [Hoobs] Wahey!

- To thank me for

all my hard work.

- A present?

What sort of present Roma?

- I don't know yet,

but he said that

it was a very big present!

- I wonder if it will

be a sparkly one.

- Imagine getting a

thank you present!

Isn't that the most

hoobatious idea?

Sometimes they give someone

a present to welcome them to

a new place or to say

goodbye when they leave their

old place, and

sometimes Peeps get

presents on special festivals.

Oh, I can't wait to see what

my present is going to be!

(gasps) It's here!

(cow moos)

It's a cow!

A fantaby-hooby big cow!

Hoobledoop, dear!

Or should I say mooobledoop!

This is Roma Hoob, signing off

to go and play with her big

new cow, hoobletoodlemoo!

- (laughing) A cow,

Roma got a cow!

- Oh Groove, come on, Roma

liked getting the cow.

- (coughing) yes, you're right,

I'm sorry Tula (laughing)

- Oh.

So, Roma showed us you can give

a present to say thank you.

- Yeah what, even if a

present is a cow? (laughing)

- Groove!

- Okay, okay, no, I have

finished laughing now, I have.

- Thank you.

Now, if you can give a

present to say thank you,

then perhaps we

should try it out.

- Who can we thank?

- Oh, I know!

Let's thank Iver because he

brought us back the sparkly

wrapping paper from

the Tiddlypeeps.

We could thank him for that.

- Yeah.

Here you go Iver, I'm giving

you this sparkly badge to say

thank you, from us to

you, who-who-who-hoob.

- From you to me, who-who-hooby.

Thank you Tula, thanks Groove!

Aren't presents wonderful!

- Oh, they're the best!

(cheery music)

♪ What fun it is to send a

really special present to a ♪

♪ Really special friend ♪

♪ There's nothing I like more,

than opening the gift that ♪

♪ I've been longing for. ♪

♪ Tear off the paper

and give it a shake! ♪

- Not too hard, you

don't want it to break!

♪ Rummage through the wrapping

until you find the box. ♪

♪ Lift the lid and

what's inside? ♪

♪ (gasps) A bag of hoobychocs! ♪

♪ Hoobygalooby. ♪

♪ Now if you really wanted

to show me some affection, ♪

♪ You'd give me

something hoobycool ♪

♪ To put in my collection! ♪

♪ And if you'd like to give

me something here are some ♪

♪ suggestions, how about

a great big book? ♪

♪ A book full of questions! ♪

♪ Presents come on birthdays,

presents make you smile, ♪

♪ Presents can say thank you ♪

♪ For doing something

worthwhile. ♪

♪ When Roma went to milking,

her presence was a wow!. ♪

- So, now we've got

hoobloads of reasons why

Peeps give presents!

I wonder if there are any more.

(electrical noises)

- Maybe Hubba Hubba knows!

- Hoobledoop, Hubba Hubba!

- Now then, you know some

reasons why Peeps give presents,

but I found a story on Hoobnet

from a Tiddlypeep which

may give us some others.

Have a look at this.

(electrical noises)

- [Narrator] Wilbur the

warthog was in a bad mood.

It was summer and the

sunshine was blazing hot.

All the other animals

were playing in the sand.

- Come and play Wilbur!

- [Narrator] They called.

- No!

- [Narrator] Wilbur grunted.

- I'm in a bad mood!

- [Narrator] Wilbur

was in a bad mood

because the sun was too bright

and it made him screw up

his eyes, but most of all,

Wilbur was in a bad mood

because he couldn't do his

favorite thing, which

was getting muddy.

You see, it hadn't rained for

a long time so all the dirt

was just dusty and a

warthog getting dusty

was not as much fun as

a warthog getting muddy!

The other animals were worried

about Wilbur's bad mood.

- How can we cheer him up?

- [Narrator] Asked the Gazelle.

- "I know!

- [Narrator]

Shrieked the monkey.

- We'll get him a present!

Presents always cheer you up!

- [Narrator] Later that

day, they called to Wilbur.

- Come and play Wilbur!

- No!

- [Narrator] Grunted Wilbur.

- I'm in a bad mood.

- But we got you a

present to cheer you up!

- A present?

- [Narrator] Said Wilbur.

- For me?

- Yes!

- [Narrator] They all shouted.

So Wilbur got up and

trotted over to his friends

and what do you

suppose he found?

A paddling pool, full of mud!

- A paddling pool full of mud!

- [Narrator] Cried Wilbur.

- Oh, the best present ever!

- [Narrator] Wilbur

jumped into the muddy pool

and splashed about to his

dirty heart's content.

- Look at me, I'm

not grumpy anymore!

I'm having fun with

my new present!

(electrical noises)

- Ah (mumbling and groaning)

- Groove, what's wrong?

- Oh, I've made a hoobybooboo.

I thought the sparkly paper

would look nice a bit further

along the studio

wall and, hmmmm.

- Did you think it would look

nicer torn into two halves?

- No, I did it by accident!

Oh, I really liked

this sparkly paper

and now I've gone and ruined it.

- Oh Groove, nevermind.

- I've got something that

will cheer you up Groove!

I've made you another present.

Here you go Groove, one shiny

gold badge made with love by

Tula Hoob, from me to

you who-who-who-hoob.

- Oh, from you to

me who-who-hooby.

Aw thanks Tula, that's made

me feel so hoobygroovy.

I'm going to give you

the biggest hoobledigger

in the world!

Hooba, Hooba, digger,

digger, digger, digger.

- Oh, that was lovely Groove.

So now Iver, you've got a

sparkly badge to say thank you.

Groove, you've got a sparkly

badge to cheer you up!

Now, I'm going to give myself

a sparkly badge because I want

to be sparkly just like you two!

echoing repeatedly)

- (laughing) thank you Iver.

Now, I was just thinking

that you should see

the Tiddlypeeps one more time.

There might be another reason

why Peeps give presents and

the Tiddlypeeps

would know, I'm sure.

- Good Idea!

We always like going to see

the Tiddlypeeps, come on Tula!

- And you know, I think I

could do something with these!

- Ha, I popped up in

the wrong place then!

We are trying to find out why

Peeps and Tiddlypeeps

give presents.

And I was wondering

whether you two

knew anything about this,

you see we know that you give

each other presents on

your birthdays and to say

thank you and to

cheer each other up.

But are there any other reasons?

- Well, you don't have

to have a reason Iver.

- You don't?

- No, sometimes you can just

give someone a present because

you want to!

- What?

Just like that?

- Yes, if you like someone

give them presents anytime!

- Hoobygalooby,

this is great news!

There are so many reasons

to give each other presents,

you don't even need a reason!

- No, and guess what Iver!

We've got you a present!

- For me, hoobygalooby, why?

- Because we like you

and we just felt like

getting you something.

- Oh, this is hoobatious,

I can't wait to open it.

just because you want to and

because you like them is the

most hoobledoobleduper reason

I have ever heard!

- Yeah, I agree Tula.

Tiddlypeeps are just so

fantabyhoobygroovygalooby

(laughing)

- Steady Groove!

- Here I am!

Ah, now we know just why

presents are so important!

- So, what did the

Tiddlypeeps give us?

What?

♪ What, what, what, what? ♪

♪ What? ♪

- Who wants to open it?

- Ooh me, me, me, me, me!

- I think Groove wants to.

- Go on then Groove.

(squeaking)

- Ha, ha, ha, this is

just what we wanted!

It's just the thing

for the hoobystudio to

finish off the

sparkly decorations!

- Oh it feels so

good to get a present

that you really, really want!

- We musn't waste

another minute!

It's time to give Hubba Hubba

all the information we've

collected for his Hoobapedia!

Time for Hoobnews!

Come on!

(Upbeat instrumental music)

♪ The presents we

have received ♪

♪ Things you would

not have believed. ♪

♪ We opened a box

full of stinky socks ♪

♪ and Timp immediately sneezed ♪

- Ah, ah, achoo!

- Oh, bless you

- Thank you!

♪ Twang once got a guitar,

that present didn't go far, ♪

♪ He played a cord,

the two of us snored, ♪

♪ he must think

he's a popstar. ♪

- No autographs, no autographs!

♪ But Toot is a real japer, ♪

♪ Her gift was a proper caper,

all we could find when we ♪

♪ Looked inside was

sticky tape and paper. ♪

- There's only sticky

tape and paper!

(laughing)

- Hoobledoop, Hoobs.

Are you ready to give me what

- You bet we are Hubba Hubba!

- Well, take it away!

Welcome to Hoobnews, the news

show for Hoobs everywhere!

I'm Iver.

- I'm Tula.

- And I'm Groove.

- And today we've been

asking the question,

- Why do Peeps give

each other presents?

- Peeps give all sorts

of different presents

to make each other

smile and be happy!

We found out that Peeps and

Tiddlypeeps give each other

presents on their birthday.

- Then Roma told us that

peeps give presents on special

festivals and that

you can give someone

a present to say thank you.

- Like a cow.

(laughing)

Roma got given a cow!

- Next we saw a story about

a warthog who was cheered up

when all his friends

got him a present.

- So you can give presents to

cheer someone up if they feel

unhappy, which is such a

hoobilygroobily reason.

- And then some more Tiddlypeeps

told us that you really

don't have to give a reason

to give each other

a present at all!

- You can do it, just because

you want to or just because

you like someone.

- Which is the

hoobygrooviest reason of all!

- Sure is!

And the Tiddlypeeps like us

so much they gave us a bow to

decorate our hoobystudio.

- Three cheers for

the Tiddlypeeps!

Hoop hoop!

- Hooray!

- Hooray!

- Hooray!

- And it's thanks once

and Roma for giving us all a
