- I'm sorry, Iver, but he
can fly like that outside.

not in our Hoobmobile,
where he'll eat my pie.

- I'm sorry, Tula.
I couldn't help myself.
- There, you see,
it wasn't the fly,
and now he's gone.
I do wish we could
find something else
that might fly inside
the Hoobmobile.
Do you have a collection
of things that fly, Groove?
- No, actually, I don't,
but I do have a collection
of things that don't quite
fit into my other collections,
but hey, (grunts)
they're Hoobigroovy anyway.
(Iver laughs)

Oh, what about this?

- Well, we could give it a try.

- It was a Hoobicup
that wouldn't fly.

throwing things

It could be dangerous.
For one thing, it

We must concentrate on
thinking of a question.
I must forget about the fly.
- No, Iver, it would be

the Hoobmobile.

- Well, I'm sure I

- Well the sooner we

What can fly inside
the Hoobmobile?
How about a bird?
- No, I think birds prefer to
live outside, like the fly.
- Okay, a butterfly.
- No, I think the
butterfly's with the bird
and the fly on this.
- An airplane?
- Too big.
- A Hoobipie?
- No wings.
- Ah, but it has got wings.
- Yes, but they're not flappy
out-to-the-side wings, Tula.

Hey, I'm going to make
Hoobloads of wings
to decorate the studio, too.
- And I'll look after the pie.
We're going to be able
to eat it very soon.
- [Iver and Tula] We will?
- Yes, because I have an answer.
- [Iver and Tula] You do?
- Yeah.
I'm going to invent a machine
to fly in a Hoobmobile.
It'll have wings like
a butterfly or a bird,
and it will be very, very small.
- Well that is great, Groove.
I suppose all we do now is wait.
(hand thumps on table)

- [Distant Voice] Hubba,

- Tula.
- Well, how about a
story while Groove
designs his flying machine?
I've got one here from a
Tiddlypeep that might tell you
a bit more about
things that fly.
Go on, take a look.

- [Child] Once upon a time,
there lived a rich
and powerful king,
and his beautiful
daughter, the princess.
Three princes from
a nearby kingdom
were in love with the princess,
and wanted to marry her.
They were brothers.
One day, the king
said that the brother
who could bring him the most
wonderful and amazing thing
would be allowed to
marry the princess.
The brothers went away to search
for wonderful and
amazing things.
Ahmed, the youngest, brought
the king a magical apple.
Any sick person who
smelled the apple
was made better at once.
(king laughs)
Ali, the second brother,
brought him a spying tube.
You told it whatever
you wanted to see,
and it showed it to you.
Hussein, the eldest
brought a magic carpet.
You sat on it, and it took you
wherever you wished to go.
(triumphant music)
The king marveled
at these thing,
and did not know how
to choose between them.
Now, the princess was on
a long journey far away.
So, the king asked the spying
tube to show her to him.
(whimsical music)
He looked into the tube,
and saw that she
was very, very ill.
When Hussein heard this,
he quickly asked Ali
to give him the magic apple.
Then, he sat on the
carpet, and made a wish
to go to the princess.
At once, the carpet
flew him to her.
Hussein told her
to smell the apple,
and straight away, the
princess got better.
(princess sighs)
(king laughs)
The king and the other
two brothers agreed
that Hussein should marry her,
for without his magic
carpet, they would never
have been able to help her.
(whimsical music)
- Oh, that's it!
Everyone! Everyone!
The answer to what can
fly in a Hoobmobile is-
- A magic carpet!
- Yes.
- And we must have a
magic carpet somewhere
in the Hoobmobile, but where?

- Here's where.
It was in my collection
of flattened fairy things,
so I don't have to invent
a machine after all.
- All right.
Here goes then.
I'm going to be like Prince
Hussein in the story.

Okay, magic carpet.
I'm ready.
- Um, maybe you
should ask it nicely?
- Ask nicely.
Oh, yes, of course.
Please, magic
carpet, will you fly?
Well, I'd be really
grateful if you would,
oh good and wise magic carpet.
If you would be so
kind as to take off
around the Hoobmobile.
In your own time, of course.
- But the sooner the better.
Then we can eat the pie.
- Uh, uh, uh.
It's not going to happen.
- Wait a minute.
Maybe it isn't flying
because it has no wings.
- Ah, yes it does.
- Oh! (grunts)

groobiest Hoob in Hoobland.
Lets fix them on.
- Yeah, maybe I should
keep working on my machine,
just in case.
- Right, Hoobifix.
(lively piano music)

- Hoobiwipe.
(Hoobiwipe squooshes)

- Flap the wings, Iver.

- Come on, carpet.

- The problem is,

It'll look lovely in the studio

all these wings I've made.

an answer quickly!

relax and leave it to me.

Now, I'm about to take a
ride in a hot air balloon.
You can see all these beautiful
hot air balloons behind me.
I'm in the basket,
and up above me
is the big balloon.
Now, a big flame has been lit,
and this will heat up all
the air in the big balloon.
When air gets hot, it rises,
so the air inside the
balloon will heat up,
and in a moment, off we'll go.
- So, does it have wings, Roma?
- Wings?
No, of course not.
A balloon would look
ridiculous with wings.
Here comes my pilot, now.
He's gonna get in with me.
Cooey!
Come on baby, light my fire.
Whoa!
(flame roars)
This is Roma Hoob, taking
off in a hot air balloon.
- Oh!
- Okay, so maybe we could
make a little hot air balloon
to fly inside the Hoobmobile.
- Well, maybe, but
we'd have to fill it
with hot air, which would mean
lighting a fire inside.
Bad idea.
- Very bad idea.
- And Hoob News is coming
up in no time at all,
and we've got
absolutely nowhere.
- [Distant Voice]

- Hoobledoob, Hoobs.
Don't you think another
trip to the Tiddlypeeps
might be fun?
- Fun, but not
entirely necessary,
because in a couple of minutes,
I, Groove, will have the answer.

it's still far too small
to fly things like an
airplane or a kite in.

the Hoobmobile?
- [Iver] We decided that
everything that flies has wings,
but we hadn't seen
anything that could fly
inside a Hoobmobile,
until we came across
- [Tula] A magic, flying carpet.
- [Iver] But, it turned out,
even if you make a carpet wings,
it will only fly if it's magic.
- [Groove] Then I decided
to invent something
that could fly
inside a Hoobmobile.
- [Iver] And I found out
that some things that fly
don't have to have wings,
after all, like kites.
- [Iver and Tula] But, what
they do have to have is wind.
So, they're no good
in a Hoobmobile.
- [Tula] Roma told us about
hot air balloons that fly.
- [Iver] But you need to
fill them with hot air,
which would be
dangerous indoors.
Then some Tiddlypeeps
came up with this
Hoobacious little
airplane made of paper.
- [Groove] Which is
exactly like my invention,
which has wings, and doesn't
need wind or hot air.
- So, there you have it.
The answer to the question,
