- Hoobledoop Tiddlypeeps.

I'm Hubba Hubba talking

to you from Hoobland.

And I'm about to send

four of my favorite

hoobs down to earth to

find out all about you,

for my great Hoobapeadia.

Here they come!

(techno space music)

♪ You know who the Hoobs are ♪

♪ Iver, Groove, and

Tula, we're Hoobs ♪

♪ And they're ready to go ♪

♪ Now the wheels are turning, ♪

♪ We can all get learning, ♪

♪ All the things

we want to know ♪

♪ (Boing) Yay! ♪

♪ Hubba Hubba's in Hoobland ♪

♪ And Roma's

somewhere far away ♪

♪ Ooh, ooh, ooh ♪

♪ The Motorettes are singing, ♪

♪ We keep the engine spinning ♪

♪ Hoob hoob hurray ♪

♪ The Hoobmobile is

coming your way ♪

- Haha, oh.

- He-hey.

- Ohhh.

♪ The hoobs are here

so what do you say ♪

♪ Hoobs ♪

(twinkling music)

(water flowing)

- (sighs)

(twinkles)

- Mmmm.

Oh, yes.

(gasps)

Hoobledoop Iver.

What do you think of

my underwater scene?

- Ohhh it's hoobacious Tula.

- I can't wait to

show it to Groove.

- Mhmm, where is he by the way?

- Um, well the last

time I saw him,

he was polishing a

shell in his collection

of strangely shaped things.

That's what gave me

the idea for this!

- Mhm, well we need to question

the Hoob News now Tula.

Groove where are you?

- Ah Hoobledoof.

- Oh there you are!

You've been gone for ages.

What on earth have

you been doing?

- I've been dancing

with a mermaid.

- Oh I see, right then now we-

- [Iver and Tula]

You've been doing what?!

♪ What what what ♪

♪ What ♪

(trombone strikes)

- I've been dancing

with a mermaid.

It was the hooby-grooviest

thing ever.

(hums cheerfully)

- Hooby glooby.

- Groove's been on the

roof garden all morning.

I suppose he must of danced

with the mermaid up there.

- Perhaps there's one

living in the pond?

- Well I've never

seen her, have you?

- No, I don't understand it.

How could Groove have

danced with a mermaid?

(Hubba Hubba ringing)

- It's Hubba Hubba.

- How could Groove have

danced with a mermaid?

What a Hooble-dooble-dooper

question for today's Hoob News!

- Mmm ahh yeahh.

- I can think of

Hoobloads of Hoobs who

would like to dance

with a mermaid.

Aha, I know I would.

La da da di di di di

La daa da dee da da da doo.

- I know I would too!

Dee dee dee dee da doo.

- And I know I would like

to do it again as well.

La la la la la la.

- (clears throat)

Ahem, excuse me.

- (clears throat)

Sorry, right.

Now where where did you

dance with her Groove?

- In the sea, we skipped

over the waves hand-in-hand.

(chuckles)

- Groove?

- Yeah?-

- That would've meant

that you got wet.

You'd never of done

that, you're a Hoob.

Hoobs don't like getting wet.

- Well I did it Iver. I did it.

- Well I never!

Look I've got some pictures

of underwater scenes Groove.

Maybe they'll jog your memory,

and you can tell us

all more about it?

(techno sounds)

Here you go

(techno sounds)

(trumpets playing)

- Oh Hoobs! Isn't that

hooble-dooble-duper

look at all those

hoobacious colors.

Oh, how pretty!

Look at that great

big shell Groove.

Ooooh..

Oooh look, there's little things

that look like stars.

(everyone gasps)

- [Hubba Hubba]

Oooh look at this.

What's he doing?

- [Iver] Oh, wee! (laughs)

- Well Groove, did any

of that look familiar?

- Well, yes it did.

That big shell reminded me

that I sat in a chair

made from a giant shell.

Ha, in fact the shell was

exactly like this one.

Well, only bigger of course.

- You sat in a shell?

- Yeah.

- But where?

(curious music)

♪ Where, where, where ♪

♪ Where ♪

(trombone strikes)

- I know where.

(inciting music)

In an old wrecked ship.

On the bottom of the

seabed just like that one.

- Hooby-galooby, this gets

more and more peculiar.

- More and more

exciting you mean.

Oh, I want to meet a mermaid!

Can't you take me to her Groove?

- Oh I'd love to Tula,

but I don't know

where to find her.

- (sighs)

(Hubba Hubba ringing)

I've an idea Hoobs.

Why don't you go and

ask the Tiddlypeeps

where to find a mermaid?

- Of course.

If anyone knows the

Tiddlypeeps will.

Can I go? Please?

- Of course you can

Tula, I'll drive you.

Come on.

(flute playing)

- And I'll try to

remember more about it

while we drive along.

- Seatbelt.

- Seatbelt!

- We're off to see

the Tiddlypeeps.

- Yeah.

(twinkle sounds)

(upbeat music)

♪ We're off to see

the Tiddlypeeps ♪

♪ On the road we go ♪

- Hoobledoo Tiddlypeeps

- [Tiddlypeeps]

Look! Tulas here!

- Hehe.. I wonder if

you'd do me a favor?

Would you mind

standing up please?

(chairs scooting)

(Tula hums)

Hmm..definitely

no mermaids here.

What a pity. Well

you can sit down now.

- Did you say mermaids?

- That's right,

I was hoping that one of

you might be a mermaid.

I'd so love to meet one.

Do any of you have any

friends that are mermaids?

- [Tiddlypeeps] No.

- Are you

abso-hooba-lutely sure?

Maybe you've met a mermaid

and forgotten all about it.

Maybe, you didn't even

realize they were a mermaid.

You do know what they

look like don't you?

- Of course we do,

they have fishes tails

instead of legs

and long wavy hair.

And they have necklaces

made out of seas shells.

- That's right, now

think very carefully.

Have you ever met anyone

who looks just like that?

- No never.

- (sighs) Oh, well never mind.

Groove! Iver!

- [Groove] Yes.

- [Iver] Yeah.

- There are no mermaids

here I'm afraid.

Not one of these Tiddlypeeps

have ever seen one.

(paper crinkles)

(gasps in disbelief)

Is this for me?

- Yes.

- Oh that's so kind.

It's a Hoobly-groobly

picture of a mermaid.

Thank you so much!

Oh well, I better get

on with my search.

Hooble-toodle-doo!

- [Tiddlypeeps]

Hooble-toodle-doo!

(upbeat music plays)

(big pop)

- Well, the Tiddlypeeps

have never met a mermaid,

so I don't know how

you managed it Groove.

- Did your mermaid

look like this Groove?

- Well let me see.

Well, yes, sort of.

Except my mermaid

had green hair.

(paper crinkles)

- Green.

Right, has anybody

seen my hooby-bits box?

If I can't get to

meet a mermaid,

then there's only

one thing to do.

(upbeat music)

Turn myself into a mermaid

in time for Hoob News.

- So um, what else do

you remember Groove?

- Um.

Nope nothing.

- Look groove, why don't

you tell us the whole story.

Right from the beginning

and see if that helps

you to remember more about it.

- Okay Iver, I'd love to.

(sighs)

(upbeat music)

♪ I sat and wondered

by the sea ♪

♪ The breeze blew

gently all around me ♪

♪ Then from my rocks I

glimpsed some locks of green ♪

- Go on, go on.

♪ A mermaid stood before me ♪

♪ She sang a gentle song ♪

♪ The most hoobacious

mermaid this hoob ♪

♪ Had ever seen ♪

- Then what happened Groove?

♪ She took my little hooby-paw ♪

♪ She took his paw,

she took his paw ♪

♪ We dived right

down and then I saw ♪

♪ And then he saw,

and then he saw ♪

♪ An ancient ship, two

shells for chairs ♪

♪ It really caught me unawares ♪

♪ This mermaid was the

answer to my prayers ♪

♪ We had a cup of

Hoobo-feast and ♪

♪ then dined on

bread and cheese ♪

♪ And then she said,

Groove, dance with me ♪

♪ Oh what a happy girl I'll be ♪

♪ So I went waltzing on

the water with a mermaid ♪

♪ I whirled and I twirled

and I danced my cares away ♪

♪ Waltzing on the

water with a mermaid ♪

♪ It's the hoobiest-grooviest

way to spend your day ♪

♪ Oh we went waltzing on

the water with a mermaid ♪

♪ He whirled and he twirled ♪

♪ and he danced his cares away ♪

♪ Oh waltzing on the

water with a mermaid ♪

It's the

hoobiest-grooviest way for

a Hoob to spend his day.

- So you had lunch

before you danced?

- Yes we had hooba-feast

and cheese. (hums happily)

Yeah, then we danced and

then we- (gasps excitedly)

Yes I remember!

- [Tula and Iver] What?

- Roma turned up!

- Tula and Iver] Roma?

- Yes, Roma joined

in the dancing.

- Groove, how could

she have danced?

(Roma ringing)

- Here she is, perhaps

we'll find out.

- Hmm

- (sighs)

(exhales)

Ahh.

Oh Hoobledoop Hoobs!

- [All] Hoobledoop Roma!

- Look behind me

Hoobs, how about that?

I'm on top of the world.

- It's certainly

very beautiful Roma.

- Yeah.

- Well it is Iver, it is.

But actually it's not

as good as it looks.

I've been climbing for ages now,

and I've nearly

run out of water.

- Oh dear.

- Look, in this

bottle is the only

water I've got left.

And I am rather thirsty.

- Are you okay Roma?

- Oh yes, don't worry

Tula, I'll be fine.

Now, where was I?

Oh yes, this mountain

is very interesting.

It's as far away from the sea

as you can possibly get.

So, I'm standing right in

the middle of the country.

Amazing eh?

- What? So you're nowhere

near the sea at all?

- Couldn't be farther

away from it Groove.

Mind you, I really

miss all of you.

I haven't seen you

all for so long.

(Hoobs sigh)

- We miss you too Roma.

- Yeah.

- Come and see us soon.

- Oh Hoobs, thank you, I will!

Hooble-toodle-doo.

- [All] Hooble-toodle-doo!

(electronic warbling)

- Groove, Roma's been in

the mountains for days.

As far away from the sea

as she could possible be.

- But she was with me,

I know she was.

- This is the most

mysterious mystery

we've ever had to

solve for Hoob News.

- Let's hope Hubba

Hubbas come up with

come up with an idea for us.

- Ohh, I have Tula, a

Tiddlypeep has sent me a

hoobacious story, Take a look.

(electronic warbling)

(upbeat music)

- [Voiceover] Sam

the clam was a kind

and friendly creature.

He lived in the seabed

with his friends,

Oswald the Octopus

and Sid the Squid.

He sat with them amongst

the rocks and seaweed

smiling and nodding all day,

but saying nothing.

- Oh...

- "Why doesn't Sam

talk?" Sid asked.

"Maybe he hasn't got anything

to talk about" Oswald replied.

"Then we should give

him something to talk

about." Said Sid.

"We should show him

something really beautiful,

that will make him

gasp and go wow."

So Sid and Oswald swam

off to find the most

beautiful thing in the ocean.

(upbeat music)

First, they brought Sam a

piece of glowing pink coral.

"What do you think

of this?" they said.

Sam smiled, but said nothing.

Then they brought

him golden goblet

from a sunken ship.

Sam smiled, but said nothing.

So they showed him a

pirate treasure chest

full of silver coins,

and precious jewels.

Sam smiled.

But said nothing.

"This is hopeless." said Oswald.

Suddenly, they heard the

sound of tinkling laughter.

And a lovely soft singing voice.

Then, a beautiful

mermaid swam into view.

- (gasps)

- She had long flowing hair,

deep blue eyes,

and a sparkling fishtail

of emerald green.

"Wow!" said Sam at last.

"I think I'm in love"

But Sid the Squid and

Oswald the octopus

were too amazed to speak.

(laughter)

(electronic warbling)

- You see, you see,

I'm not the only one

to ever meet a mermaid.

- Yes, but that

was a story Groove.

It didn't really happen.

- That's it, it's a story.

Groove has been

telling us the most

hoobe-dooble-duper story.

- I haven't.

- You have.

- I haven't.

- Oh, someone must be able

to sort this out for us.

- But, who?

(classical music playing)

♪ Who, who, who ♪

♪ Who, who, who ♪

(Hubba Hubba ringing)

- I know who hoobs,

the Tiddlypeeps!

If anyone can explain the

mystery of the mermaid,

the Tiddlypeeps can!

- ( laughing) off

you go then, Groove.

- Me?

- Yes, you! Come on, I'll drive.

(upbeat piano music)

- Oh! La la la la la la

la (singing and humming)

(magical twinkle sound)

♪ We're off to see

the Tiddlypeeps ♪

♪ On the road we go! ♪

♪ They're smart ♪

(comical pop)

- Hoobledoop, Tiddlypeeps!

- [Both] Hoobledoop boof.

- Oh dear, it looks like I've

caught you on your way to bed.

Do you think you might have

a few moments to help me?

- Of course Groove.

- Oh, thanks.

You see, I've got this

rather strange mystery.

And I was hoping you might

be able to solve it for me.

- Well tell us all about it!

- It all started this morning.

I was dusting some shelves,

in my collection of

strangely shaped things,

and uh, eating some cheese

sandwiches and hoobofizz.

And I remember

feeling a bit sleepy.

Hm, anyway, the

next thing I know,

I'm underwater and having lunch

on board a wrecked ship

and dancing with a mermaid!

- [Tula] Yes, yes!

- (laughs)

- Now, how do you explain that!

- That's easy!

You were just having a dream.

- It's kind of like a story

that you tell yourself

while you're asleep!

- Well, it felt a

bit like a story,

only it seemed real at the time.

- That's what dreams are like.

- Yeah, sometimes they seem

so real that you can't believe

that they weren't!

- Hoobygalooby, that's amazing!

Yes I'm sure you're

right, a dream, ha!

Do Tiddlypeeps ever have dreams?

- Oh yes, all the time!

- And when you wake up does it

feel like it really happened?

- Sometimes.

- You know, Hoobs don't

normally have dreams.

I think I must be getting them

because I'm mixing

with you Tiddlypeeps!

Oh if all the dreams are as

hooby groovy as the one I had,

I hope I have lots

more from now on.

Thanks so much Tiddlypeeps.

- Goodnight.

- And sweet dreams Groove.

(upbeat music)

- Just think, Tiddlypeeps

have dreams all the time.

And I've never even had one.

- I have, I've had one!

I can dream! (laughs)

I'm a dreamer.

- Oh, I'd love to have one!

- Well, first you

have to think about

what you're going to

dream of, like I did.

You know- the shell, the

ship, the cheese sandwiches.

- Okay, okay! I'm thinking!

- Now, just fall asleep!

- Yes, there's- No, Groove!

I can't fall asleep now!

It's time for Hoob News!

I have to try and

have a dream later.

Come on.

- I'll be with you in a minute!

(mystical music)

(Tootle yawning)

♪ Little boy blue, come

blow up your horn ♪

♪ The sheep's in the meadow,

the cow's in the corn ♪

♪ But where is the boy who

looks after the sheep ♪

♪ Under the haystack,

fast asleep ♪

- Ooh, so is Tootle.

- What?

- Shh, Tootle is fast asleep.

- Where?

- Shh.

- What?

- Shh.

- Oh.

(Tootle snoring)

♪ Dear little

Tootle, fast asleep ♪

♪ Eyes shut tight,

and breathing deep ♪

♪ She should be part

of the Motorette team ♪

♪ Leave her be and

let her dream ♪

- Can't I wake up her?

♪ No, not today ♪

♪ Let her dream the date away ♪

(Tootle snoring)

(Hubba Hubba ringing)

- Well Hoobs, are you ready to

give me your Hoob News

for my Hoobapeadia?

- Not quite Hubba Hubba.

- [Both] Tula!

(Tula singing)

- Hooby-galooby, it's a mermaid!

Oh what a vision

of pure loveliness.

Aren't you going

to introduce me?

I can feel a waltz

coming on. (laughs)

(everyone laughs)

- It's me, Hubba Hubba!

- Oh, Tula, so it is. (laughs)

It was the tail that fooled me.

Hoobaciously fishy Tula.

So are you ready now Hoobs?

- [All] We're ready Hubba Hubba.

- Then take it away.

(gentle rock music)

- Hoobledoop woop to

all you Hoobs out there.

Welcome to Hoob News, the news

show for Hoobs everywhere.

I'm Iver.

- I'm Tula.

- And I'm Groove.

- And today we've been

asking a question.

- How could Groove have

danced with a mermaid?

- [Iver] Groove was

sure he'd danced

in the waves with a mermaid,

but we couldn't

believe he'd done it.

For one thing, he

wouldn't want to get wet.

- [Groove] But I was

sure that I'd done it.

Although I couldn't remember

much about it to begin with.

- [Tula] Hubba Hubba showed

us some pictures from HoobNet,

that helped groove to remember

that he sat in a big shell.

- [Groove] Then Tula's

underwater scene

reminded me that

the shell was inside

a shipwrecked boat.

- [Tula] I so badly

wanted to meet a mermaid,

so I asked some Tiddlypeeps

where I could find one.

- [Iver] The Tiddlypeeps

had never met a mermaid,

but they gave Tula

a picture of one.

- [Tula] This helped

Groove to remember

that his mermaid had green hair.

- [Iver] Groove decided

to go over the whole story

to see if that helped

him to remember more.

- [Groove] And that's

when I remembered

that I had had lunch

with the mermaid,

and then Roma turned up

and joined in the dancing.

- [Tula] But then Roma

sent us her report,

and she was halfway

up a mountian.

Nowhere near the sea at all.

- [Iver] So we still

couldn't workout how Groove

came to be dancing

with a mermaid.

Then, Hubba Hubba

sent us a story.

- [Groove] The story proved

that I wasn't the only one

to have met a mermaid.

- [Tula] And it

gave us the idea,

that perhaps Groove

was telling us a story.

- [Groove] But I wasn't, so I

went to see the Tiddlypeeps.

- [Tula] And the Tiddlypeeps

told Groove that he had a dream.

- So, now we know how I

danced with a mermaid.

I dreamt it.

- Oh, and I can't

wait to dream it too.

So it's thanks once

again to, Iver, Tula,

Groove, and Roma, for

giving Hoobs everywhere

a little peep into

the world of Peeps.

And remember, wherever you are,

sweet dreams and

hooble-toodle-doo!

- [All] Hooble-toodle-doo!

(upbeat music)

- Right, that's it.

I'm going to dream that

I danced with a mermaid.

- You don't need to dream

it Iver, you can do it!

You can dance with me.

- Oh! (laughs) Um,

let me see. Yes.

(Tula and Iver humming)
