and I'm about to send

four of my favorite Hoobs

down to earth to

find out all about

- Up (laughs heartily)

- (laughs) down!

- UP! (all laughing)

- You're out, Groove! As

soon as someone pops up

you have to pop down!

- Yeah, I know, I just

wasn't fast enough. Ah, still

I do love playing

Hoobie up and down!

- Me too! It's one

of my favorites!

- But ya know, one thing's

always interested me

about this up and down thing.

- What?

♪ What? What? What? What? ♪

(low note)

- Here's what, I've always

wondered if something

could go up and down

at the same time.

- Of course not Groove

- No, I don't think so.

I mean something either

goes up or it goes down.

- Well, we don't know

for sure. Do we Iva?

Might be something

that can do it.

And we might be able to

have it in the Hoob Mobile.

- Oh, (chuckling)oh

well let me think.

Is there anything that goes

up and down at the same time?

- Is there anything that goes

going down a waterslide!

And there are two more

tiddly peeps on a slide!

And look, all those peeps are

skiing down a snowy mountain!

Look at that waterfall!

Oh there's another peep

on a waterslide! SPLASH!

And all those leaves are

coming down in Autumn,

and there's a parachutist

coming down from the sky!

And there's another waterfall,

with all the beautiful

water running down!

And there's a fireman

sliding down his pole.

(chuckling)

- Did that help at all?

- Well it helped with

down bit, didn't it?

- Yeah, all those things

Hubba Hubba showed us,

were going down!

- Yeah, not up.

- Like that waterfall,

I mean if it went up,

it'd be called a water

rise! Not a waterfall.

(laughing)

- Yeah, that'd be

really Hoobie Groovy.

- And if it went up and

down at the same time,

it would be called a

water rise and fall.

(laughing)

- Yeah, but somewhere

there's gotta be something

that goes up as well

as down. But where?

♪ Where? Where? Where? Where? ♪

(Hubba Hubba)

I'll see if I can find out

where, Hoobs. I'm sorry,

I forgot to key in the

word "up" on Hoob Net

that's why you only

saw things going down.

Nevermind, a tiddly peep

just sent me this story,

and I think you'll find

it very interesting.

(sci-fi bounce)

- [Tiddly Peep] Eddy,

the elevator worked

in a large store.

His job was to take the shoppers

from one floor, to another.

The shoppers were very

glad of Eddy's help.

They would get inside

him, press his buttons,

and Eddy would sh**t

up to the next floor.

Wheeeee!

"Thank you Eddy" they

would say as they got out.

Eddy loved going up

(whee) and down (whee)

Up (whee) and down

(whee), all day long.

But sometimes, he wished

he could have a holiday.

"Going up and down all day

can be very tiring," he said.

Then one morning, Eddy

found that he couldn't move.

Shoppers came in and

pressed his buttons,

but nothing happened.

The shoppers had to get out

and use the stairs instead.

Soon a man came to mend Eddy,

with a big bag of tools.

(banging)

He went all day long.

Eddy didn't enjoy

this one little bit.

Eddy thought he'd like

doing nothing all day,

but he found it wasn't

like that at all.

"Oh I do wish I could

go up and down," he said

At last, the man pressed

one of Eddy's buttons.

Eddy's doors closed,

and he moved smoothly

up to the next floor.

(whee)

The shoppers were pleased to

see Eddy back in working order.

And so was Eddy. He found

out that what made him happy,

was to be busy going up

(whee) and down (whee)

- Well that's it, that's it,

we found something

that goes up and down.

It's an elevator, just like

Eddy, and it's Hoobie Groovy.

Hey, watch me, watch me. I'm

an elevator (clears throat)

Whee. Whee.Whee. Whee.

Whee. Whee. Whee.

- Oh, it's not

quite right. Is it?

- No

- You tell him.

- Whee and down, whee and

up, whee and down, whe-

- Uh, Groove,

Groove, you are doing

exactly the same thing we

do in a Hoobie up and down.

- I know! I'm going up

whee, and down whee,

except I'm not playing

Hoobie up and down.

I'm a Hoobie Groovy elevator.

An elevator that goes up whee,

and down whee.

- But Groove, you're not going

up and down at the same time.

Are you?

- Well I ca- uh yo-

oh Hoobie bother,

yes you're right Toola.

Oh well, it doesn't matter,

an elevator wouldn't've fitted

into the Hoob Mobile anyway.

- Someone must know where

we can look for an answer.

- Yes, but who?

♪ Who? Who? Who?

Who? Who? Who? Who? ♪

- I know who, Hubba Hubba,

let's ask him for some help.

(guitar music)

- Hubba Hubba!

- Huh, what? Oh!

- Hubba Hubba, were you in

the middle of a Hoobie snooze?

- Well, um, yes. As a

matter of fact, I was.

I had a little go at

going up and down,

like Eddy the elevator,

and it made me feel tired.

Up whee, and down whee.

Up whee, and down whee.

- Yes Hubba Hubba, Groove

likes being an elevator too.

Problem is, it doesn't go up

and down at the same time!

- No , you're right, it's

either going down whee,

or up whee.

- So where do you think we

should look next Hubba Hubba?

- Well if anyone can help,

my guess is it'll be-

- I'll have to buy

- Oh when they get

stuck, this is very hard.

Hey, this is like

a Hooble dangler.

- Oh no! Nothing

makes a Hoob laugh

more than a Hooble dangler!

- Swinggle, swanggle,

hooble dangle.

(laughing and yelling)

- No stop, stop,

Iva please no more!

- Well trust the tiddly

peeps to come up with this,

it goes up, and down, and it

looks like a Hooble dangler,

so it makes us laugh. What

more could a Hoob want?

- Well, quite a lot actually,

well these yo-yos are

Hoobie Groovy, and we can

have them in the Hoob Mobile,

but-

- But what?

♪ What? What? What? What? ♪

- I'll tell you what,

they don't go up and down

at the same time! They go

down, and up, and down, and up,

and down, and up, and what we

want is something that goes

up and down at the

same time. Don't we?

- Hoobie blow. I'm beginning

to think there isn't anything

that goes up, and

down at the same time.

(Roma, Roma)

- Uh, it's Roma, maybe

she's found something

- Hooble doop, Hoobs

- Hooble doop, Roma

- Now Hoobs, listen carefully,

I've found something

absolutely fantabbiehoobie!

You can see it here, behind me.

It's a machine the

peeps like to ride on!

- Hoobie Galoobie,

what is it Roma?

- It's called a

ferris wheel, Iva.

As you can see, it

goes round, and round.

The peeps sit in

seats, 'round the edge,

and when they reach the

top, they can see for miles.

- Oh, I'd love that.

Wouldn't you, Iva?

- Oh yes I would, Toola

- But the really

Hoobacious thing is this,

if you look carefully

at this drawing,

you'll see that when

the wheel turns,

the peeps on this side

go up toward the top,

while the peeps on that

side are going down,

towards the bottom.

- Roma, does that mean the

Ferris Wheel is going up

on one side, and down on

the other at the same time?

- Yes, Groove it does!

This looks like it might be

the answer, so this is

Roma Hoob, off for a ride

on a Ferris Wheel, and

about to go up, and down.

Hooble Toodle-Doo.

- Hooble Toodle-Doo

- Oh, we've done it! Hoob Hoob

hurray! Ah, good old Roma!

You know, we have got

to get a Ferris Wheel!

- Yes, it goes up, and

down at the same time!

- And we'll put it somewhere

in the Hoob Mobile!

(laughing)

- But where?

♪ Where? Where? Where? Where? ♪

- Nowhere.

- Ah, what?

- Well you both saw the

Ferris Wheel, think about it!

A real Ferris Wheel is

much too big to fit inside

the Hoob Mobile.

- Could we put it up

on the roof garden?

- It wouldn't fit.

- Oh, Hoobie bother, I was

so looking forward to a ride!

- Me too, but look

on the bright side,

we found something

that actually goes

up and down at the same time!

And if there's one thing

that does that, then maybe-

- Maybe, there's another

(upbeat music)

- What about the swing?

- Well it would fit into

but it swings up,

and it's just the right size

to fit in the Hoob Mobile!

Welcome to Hoob News, the new

show for Hoobs everywhere.

I'm Iva

- And I'm Groove

- And today we've been

asking the question-

- Is there anything that goes

up, and down at the same time?

- Groove had the idea of

finding something that went up,

and down at the same time.

- And I really hoped that

we could find something

that we could have

inside the Hoob Mobile

- Hubba Hubba found lot's

of things on Hoob Net

that went down.

- But none of them went up.

- But then we saw a

Hoobacious story about

Eddy the elevator.

He went up, and down.

- Groove tried being

an elevator. And,

we realized that elevators

can't go up, and down

at the same time.

And-

- An elevator

wouldn't have fitted

into the Hoob Mobile anyway.

- Hot on the trail

of an answer, Groove,

went to see the Tiddly peeps.

They showed him a Hoobacious

little toy, called a yo-yo.

- Yo-yos are small so they

fit in the Hoob Mobile,

and they go up, and down.

- We were really pleased

until Groove reminded us

- They don't go up, and

down at the same time.

- So we were back

where we started.

Then Roma brought us

some Hoobacious news

about a Ferris Wheel.

- At last, we found

something that went up,

and down at the same time. But,

- That wouldn't fit

into the Hoob Mobile.

- But we were sure that

there would be something else

that would do the trick.

And, if anyone knew,

the tiddly peeps would.

- So, I went back

to the tiddly peeps,

and they had the answer.

There is something we can

have in the Hoob Mobile,

that goes up, and

down at the same time.

It's-

- A see-saw

- This end goes up,

while this end goes down.

At the same time!

- Fantabbiehoobie, I'm going

to make myself a see-saw,

so I can go up, and down

with Auntie Hatty Hoob.

- Auntie Hatty Hoob will

love that, Hubba Hubba!
