[Narrator] Once there

was a big fat pencil case

Felt pens, crayons, a ruler,

a sharpener, an eraser

and two pencils called

Scribble and Sketch.

Scribble and Sketch

longed to draw a picture

all by themselves.

So one afternoon, when the

pencil case had been left open,

they crept out and ran across

the desk to find some paper.

Scribble drew a picture

of a space rocket

flying into space.

- Wow!

[Narrator] And Sketch

drew racing cars zooming

around the track.

"My picture is much

better than Sketch's"

boasted Scribble.

"No it's not!" replied Sketch.

"Mine is far better

than your's!"

"But a rocket is more

exciting than a racing car."

said Scribble.

"Nonsense!" Cried Sketch.

Then, Scribble

started to scribble

all over Sketch's picture.

And Sketch started to

sketch all over Scribble's.

"Stop!" Cried the ruler.

"You've ruined them both."

"I'm sorry," said Scribble.

"Me, too," said Sketch.

"But what can we do about it?"

"Leave it to me!"

Squeaked the eraser.

She lept into action,

rubbing out all

the horrible marks

until they had

completely disappeared.

And there were the

two beautiful pictures

all ready and waiting

for the felt pens

to color them in.

Sketch and Scribble

promised that the next time
