01x10 - Storms and Rainbows

Look alive, men! You can't slack off now! The road to State is tough! Taking Regionals means b*ating big teams from big schools! That's what I'm talking about! I didn't know love And my mom's letting me look at drama camps for the summer.

Oh.

Well, I'm thinking about spending the summer
- with my dad in Atlanta.

- Bottom of the eighth, CeCe Matney is at the plate.

The crowd's hushed.

The whole game lies on this one pitch.

Will Ty Townsend go to prom with her? And here comes the pitch.

Is it a homer or is it a strike? Here comes the swing! The lady deserves an answer.

Well? Yeah.

Yeah.

Prom! But Greg Maddux getting the Cy Young three years in a row as a Brave, that sealed it for me.

Well, that and getting my name on a Braves jersey spelled right.

That's why I wanted to play for them.

Brave to the grave.

Oh, yeah, I get that, but I'm a Kershaw fan.

My dream team is the Dodgers.

What? I tried to raise him right.

I didn't.

Okay, Kyle, who's your favorite ball player? Come on.

Shoeless Joe from Hannibal, MO?
- Well played, Coach.

- Thank you.

- You're not gonna sing, are you?
- Mm
-mmm.

Sing what? Shoeless Joe's a character in Damn Yankees, a musical about baseball.

- There's a musical about baseball?
- Yeah.

Yeah.

I might've done a little homework before I came to dinner.

I even learned a new dinosaur fact.

That maiasauras are the best moms? Mm, pretty sure that you have the best mom.

Coach Cal.

Yeah.

I'm right with you there, sis.

I apologize about that.

Hey.

I didn't expect you to be here.

I'm not leaving.

This conversation isn't over.

I lived with her family.

And they invited me to be with them when she was born.

I could hold her in one hand, Helen.

And I did hold her as she d*ed.

And her death, like nearly all the infant deaths in that village that winter, it was preventable.

It's irresponsible to bring another child into a world that cannot support the people already here.

If you'd seen what I had seen No.

Having a child could be our expression of hope.

It's a proclamation that we're a part of raising a generation that could save us all.

That is a fantasy.

That is love! That's love.

You survived your first serious dinner with the three of them.

I don't know if the MLB has a trophy for that, but I do.

Huh.

So are you ready for your trial by fire?
- You are gonna sing.

- Never.

Uh, it's just dinner with an old buddy from the Braves.

Johnny is swinging through town and I'd like for him to meet you.

Dinner? With someone who knows all the dirt on you? Yes, please.

There is no dirt.

Okay, fine.

Here's all the dirt: I was a player on and off the field.

And I'm glad I got that out of my system before I met you.

I love you.

Let's go away for the weekend.

Slow down a smidge.

I have been slow.

By my standards.

Why does this hurt so much more than all the other times? Because this one is the last time.

Oh, dear.

Okay, there's no need to panic.

It's 7:00 a.

m.

on a Saturday morning, and she wants to pour it out.

Yeah, okay, panic a little.

- Oh.

- Oh, Jeez.

Okay, maybe panic a little bit more.

Are you all down for a margarita morning? Hmm.

Yeah.

Oh, come here.

Okay, Trotter is opening the spa, and Isaac has the café covered.

And Erik started prep at Sullivan's.

I'm glad those two got back from their jaunt when they did.

- I know.

- God bless some men.

And speaking of the good ones, I'm gonna make sure that Jeremy's taken care of, Dana Sue.

I'm gonna see this farm project through myself.

Thank you, but one thing at a time.

Yeah, I don't I don't need any consolation.

I'm looking to get drunk and pregnant.

Probably in that order.

- Oh, wow.

- Okay, all right, listen.

We all know how painful it can be to kick a man to the curb, but you don't just rebound yourself out of the pan into hellfire.

Yeah, you were the one who told me that I needed to take some time to breathe and grieve and regain my balance.

Yeah.

And it's so much easier to say it than to hear it, isn't it, ladies? You know what? You go on and melt down, all right, but just stop all this talk about getting pregnant.

It's alarming.

Well, I've been thinking about it for a while now.

Even got a specialist's name from Howie.

Oh, well, thanks for letting us know before the baby shower.

Well, I was gonna tell you, but then So, I'm gonna make an appointment with this doctor and we're gonna get this show on the road.

Right after I track down a bottle of my good rum, which is what these smoothies need.

Hey, buddy, thanks so much for coming over so late.

You know, the boss and her ladies had a rough day today.

Yeah, I was sorry to hear about Helen and Ryan.

Yeah, well, now Maddie feels like she's behind and she won't stop working and go home.

I thought you might be able to talk some sense into her.

And if I can't, I'll just stay and help.

Appreciate it.

I'm gonna take off.

Maddie? In here.

Surprise.

I think Trotter owes me a beer.

Or maybe I owe him one.

When you said that you wanted to go away, I pumped the brakes because I'm still not doing a good job of trusting.

Me? Me.

Trust that I can give myself to a relationship, to you, in the way that I want to, and the way that you deserve.

Sitting there with Helen today, I was thinking about the two of them and thinking about the two of us and I just I realized that I have been holding back out of fear.

So I want to move forward in faith.

In faith in our future, faith in us.

So I asked Erik to recreate the dessert that we missed out on the last time we were here alone.

Well, I look forward to figuring out our future at the pace of your choice.

Daddy!
- You're here.

- Hey! I prayed for you extra hard in church this morning, Daddy.

Mom says you're sad and all alone.

Well, thank you, ladybug.

Why don't you run along and get your stuff? I didn't quite put it like that.

Well, it's not entirely untrue.

Listen, you got a minute to chat about our visitation schedule?
- Is there a problem?
- No.

I snagged a couple of tickets to Hamilton when it comes to Charlotte right soon, and I was hoping to take Kyle, make a weekend of it.

Hmm.

I didn't realize Kyle disappearing shook you so hard.

Yeah, I don't know if you've noticed, but I've made some pretty poor decisions of late, and, um I'd like to try and get my life back on the rails, at least a wheel or two.

- Yeah, we'll work it out.

- Appreciate it.

Ty and Kyle have tons of homework.

So it's just you and me, Daddy.

Well, that's just fine with me, Katydid.

You pick what we're gonna do.

- Yes!
- Oh.

Come on.

And the whole team was standing there chanting as if Ty had just won the World Series instead of agreeing to go to prom.

So stupid.

Yeah, I didn't go to my prom.

My mom said I'd regret missing it, but I don't.

I don't think my mom went to hers either.

I figured she went with your dad.

Oh, no, Mom and Dad went to high school together, but they didn't start dating until after Mom got back into town.

How long was she gone? Um, I'm not sure exactly.

Mom always says that it was high school, high living, high time she came home.

Did she ever mention May I speak to the chef?
- Hey!
- Hey! Oh, my gosh.

We could do a festival of sorts, like Taste of Serenity.

- I think that's a great idea.

- Yeah!
- Hey, Mom? Surprise.

- Yeah.

Oh, as I live and breathe.

Micah Harrison!
- Are you really here?
- Let me prove it.

- Oh, it's so wonderful to see you.

- You too.

Oh.

Well, I was hoping you'd say so.

Oh, sorry, uh, this is Micah Harrison.

Hi, nice to meet you.

- I'm an old friend of Dana Sue's.

- He is one of my dearest friends and my beloved companion in some of my craziest adventures.

And the man who made Sullivan's possible.

Hmm.

Yeah.

Made it possible? I'm the seed money.

Dana Sue's silent partner.

- I can't believe you're here.

- Come here.

Oh, gosh.

So good.

Oh, life is better with you.

And shavasana.

Exhale.

Trotter.

You broke her.

Melted, not broken.

Sometimes it takes lying on the floor, not going left, not going right, to get over someone.

And she's to be commended for being so honest with her feelings this early in the grieving process.

This puddle on the floor, formerly known as Helen, has taught me most of what I know about resiliency.

Well, I'm gonna try something new, like watching the front desk.

Do the storms ever stop? No.

But neither do the rainbows.

Honestly, I'm so glad to see you, but I wish you'd come on another day.

Things are so hectic around here.

Can you bring these to the cooler, please? My sous chef is out.

He is doing a special dinner for a charity group, and I Okay, all right, you know what? You have a seat at the bar, and I'm gonna make you something wonderful.

I'll cook for you.

Then you two can sit together and catch up.

This young man is on his way to being a star.

And I am so proud of him.

You should be too.

I have no doubt.

I see a lot of myself in you, Isaac.

Ambitious, attentive.

Great smile, huh? Well, check, check, check.

And I appreciate your generous offer, but please understand I cannot come into this magnificent woman's kitchen and miss my opportunity to rub shoulders with her, like we did in the old days.

Okay, please do not tell any of those stories in front of my staff.

Rule number one of the kitchen.

What say we cook together? All three of us.

Dana Sue and I have plenty of time to eat and reconnect later.

- Yeah.

- Yes, sir.

I mean, yes, Chef.

Uh, if it's okay with you, Chef.

Let the good times roll, my dear.

- Oh!
- Let's do it.

- Let's get hot in the kitchen.

- Let's get hot in the kitchen!
- Thank you.

Oh, here you go, gloves.

- Thank you.

- Gloves in this kitchen.

- My gloves! Ty and CeCe are going to prom.

She asked him in front of everybody.

I didn't know that.

How did you prom
-posal Mom? Well when your mom and I were in high school, asking somebody to prom was simpler.

You waited to get real fancy till you asked her to marry you.

How did you ask Mom to marry you? Well, first I had to sneak over to Nana and Papa's and ask their permission.

Why? They don't get to decide.

It's just how it was done in those days.

And, uh once they said it was okay, I went and bought a beautiful diamond ring.

And I told your mama that I wanted to take her to a fancy restaurant in Charleston, 'cause I'd just gotten into medical school.

You weren't a doctor yet? No.

Not yet.

And so we got all dressed up and we had a wonderful dinner.

And when the waiter came over and asked us what we wanted for dessert, well, I told him I wanted the sweetest thing in the restaurant.

Then I got down on one knee, in front of your mom, and I took out that ring, and I said Finish.

I, uh I asked your mama if if she could see her way to making my day sweet and my heart complete forever.

That was pretty, Daddy.

It was, ladybug.

It really was.

I love you.

And what about the night in Memphis that was supposed to be the search for the perfect barbecue? Yeah, and became the search for the perfect bourbon.

- Yeah.

- You were out of control.

Just a little bit.

Oh, the bartender, the
- With the glass eye!
- Oh, my gosh.

I know.

He liked you.

- Yes.

- Oh, my gosh, girl.

All right, something's up.

Tell me.

Micah.

It's my brother Joel.

He's sick.

Uh, kidney disease.

Micah, I'm so sorry.

Yeah, I know.

I mean, he has a wife, two kids, no health insurance, and too sick to work.

Is there anything I can do? Actually, there is.

Buy me out so I can help them.

- Absolutely.

- Thank you.

Yeah we'll figure it out.

- Thank you.

- Yeah.

Um Uh, Erik made his famous brownies and ice cream before he left, and looks like you're about to have the best dessert of your life.

Yeah.

Annie.

Annie! Hey, you left this in the newspaper office.

- Thank you so much.

- You must have a lot on your mind.

May we please do an exposé on the cheesiness of prom
-posals? I agree.

Putting on a show is unnecessary.

- Direct and sincere is the way to go.

- Truth.

Here's how you ask someone to prom: "Annie, I really like you.

I know it's the eleventh hour, but will you go to prom with me?" Like that.

Yes.

You don't need all of the Annie? I really like you.

I know it's the eleventh hour, but will you go to prom with me? Yeah, that'd be great.

I'm so sorry for Joel, for Micah,
- for you.

- Thanks.

If he'd come before we sank everything into the spa,
- this would be a different story.

- Yeah.

A much simpler one.

I know.

I mean I need to do this for him.

But how? We'll figure it out.

We'll figure it out.

We will save Sullivan's.

Yeah.

Hey, your mom said you'd be in here.

Where else would I be? Oh, and speaking of being grounded forever, check out this new game I ordered for our anti
-prom night celebration.

I'm I'm so sorry, Kyle.

Can we reschedule?
- The thing is
- You're going to prom.

I know you think the whole thing is stupid, but my mom's been easing up on things since I rocked mock trial
- and Simon
- Simon's a great guy.

You'll have a great time.

I'm happy for you.

We'll play it next Margarita Night.

You're the best, Kyle.

Thanks.

Peggy.

So Ryan left again.

And what makes you think that I would discuss that with you? My readers need to know what's gonna happen to Benji's farm now that Ryan's gone.

On or off the record? Which is the better story? On the record, Ryan's presence or lack thereof has no impact on the development plans for Benji's farm.

And off?
- What is wrong with you?
- I'm chasing a story.

You are reveling in my pain.

On the contrary, Helen.

I know your pain.

Serenity giveth and Serenity taketh away.

I wish I could say that I know what we're talking about here, Peggy.

If we'd have been friends, you'd know.

You're still tensing up, Gabe.

You've got to trust yourself more.

What are you thinking when you're about to catch a pop
-up? "What's gonna happen if I miss?" No.

You gotta be thinking, "I've got this.

" But my dad says, "Don't be overconfident.

" So just be the right amount of confident.

Come on.

You got this.

Welcome to the Corner Spa.

Thank you.

Hi.

Oh! Hey! The Braves, Mom.

The Braves.

- I thought it was the Dodgers.

- They aren't scouting me.

Wait, what? The Braves are scouting me.

I'm not gonna have to worry about going to college.

I'm gonna get into the Braves' system and just Okay, ho hold your horses.

What? I don't understand.

Okay, so this guy came to practice, all right, and he's a scout for the Braves.

And he says he's been watching me, and he thinks that I have a great arm and a great future.

Yes, you do.

But you also know that Don't spoil this.

Coach said he is for real.

Coach Cal? Yeah, he said Johnny's a good guy with a great eye for talent.

Wait, wait, wait.

The scout is Cal's friend Johnny? So, he's talked to you about him? Yeah, he has, just, well, that his friend Johnny was coming to town and that he wanted us to have dinner.

Yes.

Okay.

This is perfect.

Okay, so when are you having dinner? I don't know that we will, Ty.

Why are you raining on me? Because I don't appreciate how all of this is being handled, by anyone.

Tyler, look, I am your biggest fan, but you know that I want you to go to college before you play.

You're just like Dad.

You always complain how he always has to control everyone.

Thanks for picking up where he left off.

- Hey.

- Hey.

I guess Katie likes that show.

Katie likes to laugh.

Kyle, look, um I've been meaning to talk to you, 'cause, uh Well, I know that I've never gotten into the things that you're into the way I did with Tyler and baseball, and that was wrong.

I'm sorry.

Heck, I should have studied that Shakespeare thing the way Noreen did.

So I talked to your mom, 'cause I'm hoping that you and me
- can do something special.

- I appreciate it, Dad, but baseball and I don't Hamilton? Are these real? You bet.

We'll drive to Charlotte.

We'll make it a guys' weekend.

Just the two of us.

W Why are you doing this? You don't like theater and you don't know anything about musicals.

Teach me, son.

Isaac, you're never gonna believe this.

Hey, Kyle.

How's it How's it going? Great.

My dad is taking me to Charlotte to see Hamilton! What? So jealous.

- Congratulations.

- Yeah.

This is the most exciting thing that's happened in I I don't know.

More exciting than prom? Come on, Isaac.

Prom's for upperclassmen.

We're freshmen.

Of course.

Sorry.

But, hey, uh, since Jackson and all his lame friends are going to prom, I'll have total control of every gaming console you can think of and a 65
-inch flat
-screen.

Whoa.

Wanna come over Saturday night? Uh
- Yes.

- Uh, absolutely! I mean, there are some details about being pretty grounded I'll have to work out with my mom, but that'd be cool.

I even have a new game I can bring over.

Wonderful.

- Thank you.

- Yeah.

I told myself that I needed a day to just think this through and that I would be calm and cool and reasonable, but what in the devil were you thinking putting me in a position like that? I I didn't put you in any position.

You didn't explain who Johnny was.

Yes, I did.

He's an old friend.

He's a scout! Not why I wanted you to meet him.

But you let him meet Ty.

You let him talk to Ty.

You let him fill Ty's head with crazy nonsense without talking to me first! The scouts never talk to the parents first.

Why not? I have every right to be upset right now, Cal.

Listen, I'm sorry that Ty got carried away and leaped to some big conclusions, but how is any of this my fault? You do not get to make decisions for my kid.

Or for me.

No, I've gone out of my way not to.

I think you need to leave.

Yeah.

I think you're right.

Sweetheart, I hate to be the one, but I have to say it.

We've looked at this situation with Micah six ways from Sunday, and there is only one answer.

A small business loan.

You know what you have to do.

Oh, God help me, I do.

Okay.

Fine.

I will make the call.

Honey, what happened? It's gonna be a two
-Margarita
-Night week.

- Oh, come on.

- Oh, no.

Maddie.

Mmm.

- Coach, Johnny said I have a future!
- And you do.

But that was an informed opinion, not an offer.

Scouting is a lengthy process, and there are no guarantees.

Okay, so what am I supposed to do? Just sit here and wait? No, you keep your head in school and on the team.

Lead us to State.

Oh, she put you up to this, didn't she? No, she did not.

She doesn't even know I'm talking to you.

- Okay, yeah, right.

- Ty, I've been where you are, and I need you to understand the reality of the situation.

No, Coach! I understand just fine! That I can't trust any man that's in my mom's life! Wow.

I know, right? How do you make these so amazing? Wept and prayed and let the Carolina rain do the rest.

Beauty of organic farming.

I'm also pretty sure he's magic.

Could be you bring that out in me.

If you guys like the strawberries, wait until you take a bite out of one of these plums.

Mm.

- Thank you.

- Excuse me.

- May I help you?
- Daddy! Hey! Oh, there's my girl.

- I missed you.

- Oh, I missed you too.

- How are you? You look great.

- Good.

Ronnie, we said we would talk this weekend.

Yeah.

Well, it's, uh You know, it seemed like the kind of talk we want to have in the flesh.

But Uh, Isaac, Jeremy, this is
- Ronnie.

- Jeremy.

Nice to meet you.

Isaac.

Pleasure.

Daddy, are you gonna be here all weekend? You'll get to see me in my prom dress.

Ooh.

I can't wait, and I want you to tell me all about it, baby girl.

This looks delicious.

So, this dress.

Is it I have a complicated past.

- Here you go.

- Thank you.

Here you go.

Oh, thank you.

Wow.

When, uh When did you give up à la mode? I'm just watching my sugar.

Oh.

Me too.

Uh, listen, I I do appreciate you coming.

Well, I mean, you told me to stay away until you said it was okay for me to come back, which I've done, much as it's k*lled me.

Thank you for that.

But when you called and said we needed to talk and sounded all serious, um, I figured I'd take a chance on showing up.

Well, thank you for that too.

Plus getting to see baby girl in her prom dress is
- Yeah.

- a huge bonus.

And I get to meet her date.

Ronnie, leave that poor boy alone.

I'm not kidding.

All right? He is level
-headed and responsible and polite.

What the heck does she see in him? We need to get divorced.

- Why?
- So I can clean up my financials, get a small business loan and buy out Micah.

I mean I don't know, wouldn't it be simpler if I came back? You know, I can help you with the money, help you at the restaurant, do whatever you need done.

That's not the answer.

I've done everything right.

I've played according to your rules.

When do I get to come home? Okay.

You'd best get back to the motel.

Get.

Smile! So handsome, so beautiful.

You should come get in the picture with us, Mom.

Oh, look at this.

All right, three, two, one.

Okay.

You should take a selfie with us.

You have to.

Please?
- Yeah.

- Daddy's welcome! All right, here we go.

Now, one, two, and three.

Okay, come on, Mom.

- You've taken, like, a hundred.

- What? My folks took more pictures of me tonight than they're gonna take at graduation.

'Cause you're not allowed to look this smoking at graduation.

Okay, just one more.

Please, please, please.

Would it k*ll you to smile, Tyler? Um, sorry, I found this in the car.

Katie must have left it on Sunday.

Oh.

Um, okay.

Hey, you know what, why don't you get in with the kids for one?
- What?
- Yeah.

Come on, Mom, get over here.

Well, okay.

- I'll take a couple.

- Yeah.

Oh, that's good.

- Wanna get in the middle for one?
- Yes, of course I do.

Thank you.

Okay, three
-two
-one, prom.

Prom! Oh, these are great.

Thank you.

Um Well, you kids better get goin'.

You don't wanna be late.

Hey, please do not let me regret letting you take your car, okay?
- I know.

- No one drinks, and no one drives but you.

- I know.

- All right? Yes, ma'am.

- All right.

I love you.

- I love you too.

And I want you two to have fun, okay? You look beautiful.

- Thank you.

- Well, hey.

- All right.

Here.

- Thanks.

- Bye, guys.

- Bye.

Um Why don't you come on in and say hi? Okay.

You haven't tried the molasses cookies yet.

Yes, I have.

Oh, you're trying to distract me because you're jealous that I'm better with the lobber than you are, huh? Maybe.

This is cool, Nellie.

Thanks for inviting me.

You're always welcome, but, um I wasn't expecting company.

I'm not company.

You and Isaac must have had quite a trip.

Oh.

'll tell you about it later.

Right now, I'm here for a special purpose.

Okay.

Oh, my.

Your infamous brownies, and they're still warm.

And my notorious cinnamon ice cream.

- A matched set.

- Yeah.

I am incredibly grateful and suddenly starving, but, um pardon me if I don't quite understand.

This last week has been big.

And hard, for a lot of people.

And I know how much it has to have taken out of you to have taken care of everyone else, be strong for everyone else in the midst of your own turmoil.

I wanted to lift you up a bit.

I'm okay.

It's okay.

It's okay.

It's okay.

Oh! I told you, we should have used the spread instead of the charge.

Party people.

Home sweet home! There's food here, y'all, and you'd better believe I'm gonna get all the drinks.

This is my party, Jackson.

And my food.

You and your stupid friends go somewhere else.

Nope.

This is the prom after
-party now.

So, you can go on, get out of here.

Go to the sunroom or something.

No.

We were here first.

Okay, have it your way.

Cell phones in the bowl! In the bowl! In the bowl! In the bowl! You know how we do it.

Hey, uh, especially you, Annie.

I'm doing you a favor, girl.

Cell phones.

All right.

Come on.

Come on now.

Come on now.

Enjoy! Stick one of these where the sun don't shine.

You know, if you've got any room up there beside that empty head.

Newspaper man.

He's funny.

Hey, no exception for runts.

Come on.

I know how to host a party, my friends.

Can I give anybody a cookie? Please, get your cookies here.

Isaac.

What are you still doing here, and all by yourself? Erik had an errand to run, so I told him I could lock up.

What? You know you've done such a fine job of stepping up here, and carving out your place.

You really do give it your all, and then some.

And I don't know if I've taken the time to tell you how much I appreciate that.

- I'm not trying to embarrass you.

- I'm not, Chef.

I just I'll do anything to help you, to help Sullivan's.

This kitchen is the first place that I've ever felt completely accepted.

And you're the main reason why.

You are one of the most important people in my life.

Well, goodness, you're too kind.

I mean it.

Aren't you my mother? Listen, um I don't deserve the compassion you've shown me of late, and, um and I really appreciate your helping me reconnect with the kids.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, all right? You're welcome.

I want us to find new footing too, you know? Figure out our way forward.

Hey.

Hey.

Take me back, Maddie.

There's a gaming console in the sunroom.

It's okay.

The guest bedroom upstairs, second door on the left, is available.

Mind your own business.

Oh, chill.

I'm just trying to help you, son.

I mean, why else are you with her, if not to get lucky? Jackson, you'd better watch your damn mouth.

- Okay.

- Ty, stop.

Don't.

- Yeah, chill out, buddy.

- Let me.

- What? What is that?
- Come on! Leave my brother alone! Kyle, stay out of this! Stop ignoring me! Kyle!
- Kyle!
- Where you going? Nellie! No! No, Nellie! I've been praying you'd forgive me.

There's a difference between forgiving and forgetting.

Hello? Erik Whitley, you are bound and determined to make me as fat as a tick.

Well, Helen, if Mother Nature didn't like curves, she'd have made the world flat.

And this summer, I'll make you a peach gelato like none other.

Mmm.

I love peaches, 'cause Hold on a second.

Do you mind if I get that? Mm
-hmm.

I'm not looking to create chaos in anyone else's life.

Of course.

I'm just I'm just trying to find the answers for my own.

Uh, it's Miss Helen.

You should answer that.

Um Hello.

We need jaws! Oh, my God! Come on.

- Please stay back.

- No, that's You called us! That is my son's car.

Yes, ma'am.

I'm sorry, but I need you to stay back, and let the first responders do their work.

Is Ty all right? We don't know yet.

- Oh, goodness.

- Okay.

Gracious Father, loving Lord, be with us in this moment of trial.

Deliver this child into safety, we ask this in the name of your sacred child, Jesus Christ.

Amen.

One, two, three.

Wait a minute, that's Kyle.

That's Kyle!
- That is not Tyler.

- How could Kyle be driving? Where's Tyler? It's Tyler.

Leave a message or text me.

Goes straight to voicemail.

Hey Tyler, it's your dad.

It's an emergency.

Call me, son.

- You're the parents?
- Yeah.

The driver is unconscious.

The paramedics are assessing him and then transporting him to the hospital.

- We'll meet you there.

- We'll also transport the passenger.

The passenger? Wait, the passenger? Is Tyler in there? Is Tyler in there? We can't see clearly yet, ma'am.

- Oh, God.

Is it Annie? Is it Annie?
- No, no, no.

Wait, wait, wait.

Weren't they all supposed to be at prom? So CeCe and Ty and Annie and Simon.

Where was Kyle? Kyle was at Mary Vaughn's.

He was with Nellie.
