♪ Math is fun! ♪

♪ We're the babies, you're the big kids ♪

♪ Teach us all the math you know ♪

Let's go!

♪ Math party-- the party's just begun ♪

♪ And we're counting on a real good time ♪

♪ This party's number one ♪

♪ Math party! ♪

[laughter]

[sprightly music playing]

[narrator] Kip is helping Tilly take a bath today.

It's splishy-splashy time,

starring Tilly the Tortoise!

[Kip chuckles]

Pào pào!

Yeah, there's a bubble!

Oh, oh, hey, Tilly, watch me do a magic trick.

I, Kip the Magician,

shall now make this bubble disappear.

Presto!

The bubble is gone!

[Tilly laughs]

Thank you, thank you, and thank you, Tilly.

[chuckles] All right, now, you're all clean now.

Bath time's done.

Oh, it's Clickety Clock!

Clickety, you made a bubble disappear!

You're a magician too!

[Kip chuckles] Oh, there he goes!

Well, come on, Tilly, let's go! Let's catch him!

[both giggling]

[Kip] Gotcha, Clickety!

Hey, Franny! Bailey! Lulu!

Clickety is here!

[Bailey] Oh, hi, Clickety Clock!

Uh, what time is it, big kids?

[mechanism whirrs, bell dings]

[kids] Time to play!

[happy shouts]

[Franny] Well, what shall we play?

Hmm. Well, I liked being a magician and making that bubble disappear,

so, uh... [sharp gasp]

I know! Oh, Tilly, listen!

[whispering]

All right, come on, come with me! Come on!

Wait, Kip!

Um... what are we going to play?

Come to the playroom in a little bit,

and then we'll have a big surprise for you!

[giggling] Oh, fun!

Uh... Kip...!

[springy sounds]

[Franny gasps]

[Lulu] Ahhhh!

-Uh! -Ooh!

Sorry!

Lulu, why do you have your eyes closed?

Because I love surprises!

Surprise! Ha ha!

Surprise?

What's that?

Well, I-I think it's the surprise.

Where's Kip?

[excited breaths]

-Hello, playroom! -Hi!

Welcome to your surprise magic show!

Oh, yay!

[giggling]

I love magic!

Prepare yourself for some magical razzle-dazzle.

Razzle-dazzle zazzle!

[delighted squeal]

[chuckles] This is not ordinary magic. No, no.

This is math magic!

And I'm Kip the Mathemagician!

[laughs]

[crickets chirp]

Uh...

Eh... you know...

[stammering] Like someone who does math and magic?

Oh, I get it!

Math-uh-magician!

Math magic!

[Lulu] Yeah! Okay!

[laughs] Fun!

Please welcome my assistant, Tilly!

[happy shouting]

N Ho!

Now watch as I put three Tyrannosaurus Rexes

onto the stage!

[soft gasps]

One... two... three.

Bà wáng lóng.

Yeah, bà wáng lóng means Tyrannosaurus Rex in Mandarin.

That's right!

Shh! It's a magic show!

Oh. Sorry.

How many dinosaurs do we have, Tilly?

Ah... sān!

[Kip] Three!

Now watch as I make one dinosaur disappear!

Ooh! Presto magico disappearo!

[happy gasps]

[Kip grunts, toy squeaks]

♪ Ta-da! ♪

Now there are only two!

-Èr! -[Kip chuckles]

Um...

is this magic?

How did he do that?

Where did the dinosaur go?

I-I think he just knocked it onto the floor!

No! No, no-- this is magic!

Heh. Okay. Ahem. Now watch as I turn two toys

into one! Ooohhh!

Presto magico disappearo!

[Kip grunting]

[toy squeaks]

Behold! Now there is only one! Ooh!

Yī!

[shouting and cheering]

[trumpeting]

[Lulu] Huh?

Oh... sorry.

I just really liked that trick.

[all giggle]

And now, my final trick.

I'll turn one dinosaur into...

[Kip grunting]

[thud, toy squeaks]

Um... uh...

-I'll turn one into... uh... -[Tilly] Ahh!

Let's see, uh...

well, there wa-- there-there was one,

and-and now there are, uh... um...

Uh, uh, Tilly, uh, what number's next?

Uh... uh...

Uh...

[Kip gasping]

Uh... is the show over?

I... guess so.

Oh, the suspense! I love magic!

Um... uh... good job!

[half-hearted cheers]

No! No, no, no, no, no!

It's not done, I-I just need to see how many dinosaurs are left.

Oh, none!

But I need the number that means none,

or-or else it's not math magic.

But... is there a number that's less than one?

I don't know.

Uh... [gasps]

Oh! [clears throat]

Ladies and gents, to solve this problem,

I will make something appear!

With a presto magico, here we go!

Math Molly!

[Bailey trumpeting]

[all reacting]

-Come on! -Math Molly! Math Molly!

[Kip] Wow!

I made Math Molly appear? I'm that good!

Ha ha! Thank you, thank you,

and thank you! [chuckles]

Oh, wait! Wait for me!

[all laughing]

[narrator] The babies are here to use math to solve a problem.

We need to find the number that's less than one.

So I can finish my magic trick.

[mechanism whirrs and rings]

Oh. Big kids, that's how many Kip started with.

How many is that?

[kids] Three!

[laughter]

[Lulu] Ohh!

One disappeared!

How many now, big kids?

[kids] Two!

-Ah! -Ah!

[all react]

[Bailey] Another one disappeared!

Just like magic! [chuckling]

How many now?

[kids] One!

[all react]

No more dinosaurs-- none!

Oh, so, what's that number called?

Ohh.

[kids] Zero!

[all react]

Zero!

That's the number we need!

[Tilly giggles]

Líng!

That's perfect, Tilly!

Now we can finish our trick! Ha ha ha!

But first, behold!

Kip the Mathemagician will make a math party!

[all cheer and shout]

[upbeat music plays]

♪ We did it! We did it! ♪

♪ We did math ♪

♪ We went down the math path ♪

♪ We stopped to think the problem out ♪

♪ Now it's time to jump and shout ♪

♪ Yeah! We did it, we did it! ♪

♪ We did math ♪

♪ We went down the math path ♪

♪ Math makes you a super smarty ♪

♪ So we had a big math party ♪

♪ We did it! We did it! ♪

♪ We did math ♪

♪ We love math! ♪

[laughter]

Ladies and gents, are you ready for my final math magic trick?

-Ready! -[happy babbling]

[chuckles] Okay.

Presto magico disappearo!

[Kip chuckles, toy squeaks]

♪ Ta-da! ♪

I made one dinosaur disappear!

So now there are...

Tilly, will you please reveal the magic number?

Ahh!

Yes! Zero dinosaurs left!

[laughs]

Magic is real.

[celebrating loudly]

Ah, thank you, thank you!

And a very special thank-you to my wonderful assistant,

Tilly!

[cheers and applause]

Oh, that was so much fun!

I want to count down to zero again!

Well, we could play the five babies game.

Yeah! That game counts down!

Yeah! Let's hop, bop, and disappear like magic!

[cheers and shouts]

[Franny] Let's go!

[Kip] Let's go!

♪ Five babies hopping ♪

♪ Hop-hop-hopping round a tree ♪

♪ Kip hop hoppity-hops away ♪

Look! A bumblebee!

♪ Four babies tapping ♪

♪ Tap-tap-tapping on our knees ♪

♪ Let's all get a snack in ♪

♪ Pass the ice cream, please ♪

Please!

♪ Tilly needs to take a bath ♪

♪ Now we're only three ♪

♪ Three babies skipping ♪

♪ Skip-skip-skipping on your toes ♪

♪ Skipping round the garden ♪

♪ Bailey stops to smell a rose ♪

♪ So now there's two babies slidin' ♪

♪ Slide-slide-slidin' down a slide ♪

Whoo!

♪ Lulu keeps on sliding ♪

♪ Franny takes off for a ride ♪

See ya later!

♪ Five babies dancin' ♪

♪ Dance with Raffe round the room ♪

♪ Everybody join the fun so I'm not the only one ♪

Come on!

♪ One, two, three, four, five, come, everyone ♪

♪ Five, four, three, two, one, and now we're done ♪

And another way to say "none" is...

-Ling! -Zero!

[laughter]

Thanks, big kids.

Aw, I couldn't have done my magic trick without you.

Yeah, now watch me disappear to eat a snack.

Presto magico!

Mathemagician Kippo disappearo!

[chuckles] Bye!

[Tilly giggles]

[narrator] The babies are outside today,

playing on the playground.

Hello!

You want to go down the slide, Tilly?

Ahh!

I can help you with that.

This way, Raffe.

Aha.

[Tilly] Ahh!

[Lulu and Bailey] Here we go!

[Tilly giggles]

[Tilly] Ahh!

[Bailey] Oh... no... Tilly!

That was scary, Raffe,

but you're okay.

[chuckles] Ohhhh!

[Bailey gasps] Uh-oh!

Are you all right, Tilly?

[Tilly speaks Mandarin]

[Lulu] My knee!

Ouch!

H-hold on, Lulu. I have just the thing.

Ohh.

What happened?

Lulu!

I got an owie. Tilly knocked me over.

Uh, it's okay. You didn't mean to.

Lulu, would a pretty purple bandage make your knee feel better?

Uh...

-Yeah. -Okay.

Nice and clean.

And now... there you go.

Good as new.

[Kip] Mmm.

[Lulu] Ahh.

[Bailey] Ahh.

[overlapping warm laughter]

[Tilly] Bào bào.

-Hey. -Bào bào.

Yes! A hug for Bailey.

Because I love you.

[chuckles] I love you too.

I love you a lot!

All the way to ten!

Ten! That's a big number.

Sure is. Yeah!

Oh! I want to show you how big it is!

We're gonna count to ten. Come. Come!

Okay!

[upbeat music playing]

♪ Four, five, six ♪

♪ Seven, eight, nine, ten ♪

Let's do it again!

Oh, oh! Can we please count noodles?

♪ Three cars, four trucks ♪

♪ When it's time to go to sleep ♪

♪ We can count sheep! ♪

♪ Seven, eight, nine, ten ♪

Let's count to ten from beginning to end!

[laughter]

-Ten is a big number, Lulu. -Mm-hmm.

Thank you for loving me that much.

[Kip] Aww.

You're welcome.

Uh... how much do you love me?

Oh, a lot!

Yeah, but... how much?

Oh, well...

Um, I love you as much as all the stars in the sky.

Wow.

[Kip] Wow!

Is that more than ten?

Oh, I think so. There are a lot of stars.

How many stars?

Well... I'm not sure.

Uh... I need to know.

[gasps] There's one way you can find out.

How?

You can go into space in my rocket ship

and count the stars.

Yes, yes, yes! Go to outer space!

Now, please!

[Bailey] Okaaaayyyy!

[springy sounds]

[Franny imitates radio static] Major Bailey, Lieutenant Lulu,

this is Mission Control.

Are you ready for takeoff?

[imitates radio static]

[Bailey and Lulu] Ready!

[Franny imitates radio static]

Then it's time to use your imaginations!

[Lulu imitates radio static]

We will!

Hey, kids, can you help us count down?

[kids] Yes!

Five... four... three...

two... one!

Blast off!

[Lulu] Ohhh... wow...!

[Bailey] Ohh! Look at all the stars!

So pretty!

But... how many?

Well... well, let's count them.

[chuckles] There's...

Lulu?

Ahh! Ahh!

[gasping, oohing and aahing]

One...

two...

three...

four stars!

But that's not ten!

No, but... well, there are more over here.

Five, six, seven, eight.

Ooh, and down there.

Nine... ten...

-What about over there? -Whoa! Whoa!

[Bailey laughs]

Oh, yeah.

That's a lot more.

I never knew there were so many stars.

[imitates radio static] Major Bailey, this is Mission Control.

Are you done counting the stars?

Over!

[imitates radio static]

[Bailey imitates static] Still counting! Over!

-[imitates static] -Ohh.

There are more stars over there...

and there.

-Ohh! -And there!

-Whoa! -And there!

I don't think I can count all these stars.

How do you count something that goes on and on forever?

Oh, I don't know.

But I think I know someone who does!

[both] Math Molly!

[both cheering]

[Lulu] Oh, it's Math Molly!

Let's follow her.

[narrator] The babies are here to use math to solve a problem.

And we've got a problem.

There are too many stars to count.

[music playing]

[all ooh and aah]

[Lulu] How many stars is that, big kids?

[Franny] Huh?

[kids] One, two, three, four,

five, six, seven, eight,

nine, ten!

-Oh! -Whoa!

And that's how much I love Bailey.

[warm reactions]

[Bailey] Thanks, Lulu.

-Ohh! -Ohh!

Look! Even more stars!

How many is that?

[gasps] I can help you count them. I'm an excellent counter!

[all giggle]

One, two, three...

-Ahh... -Whoa!

Now-- now there's even more stars. [chuckles]

Four, five, six...

-Uh... oh-oh, uh... -Whoa!

Um, seven, eight...

Okay. That's too many stars.

I can't count that high.

Well, me either, and that's the problem.

Big kids, what do you call a number that's so big

you could keep counting forever?

Hmm?

[kids] Infinity!

[all] Ohh!

So, Lulu, that means I love you

infinity!

[all giggle]

Oh! Infinity never ends!

It goes on and on forever!

-Ahh! -[Franny giggles]

Thank you, Bail-Bail, for loving me so much.

-Ah. Of course, Lulu. -[Tilly titters]

And now, we can have a...

[all] Math party!

[all celebrate]

[all laugh]

What's she doing?

I think she's doing the happy dance, right, Tilly?

[Bailey laughs]

[Lulu] Dance, Tilly, dance!

[Franny] Hey! Yeah!

[happy shouts]

♪ It's a whole lot of fun to start dancing around ♪

♪ Let your feet take you for a real fun ride ♪
