15x01 - Evil in the Everglades

Post by bunniefuu »

[Amy Allan] His body
was destroyed.

He's like, "She made me
sh**t myself in the head!"

I think it's a demon.

There was a strike,
and it was hard.

Show me on the table
how hard it hit you.

He lost his life.
They k*lled him.

He kept screaming like
"We're all going to die."

Someone was to hurt him,

they would have hell to pay.

[Amy] She's just evil
and a witch.

[Amy] Oh, boy.

This is not a good situation.

The dominant emotion that's going
on with the living is anger.

Severe anger.

There's too many emotions.

I feel like I'm gonna vomit.

Oh, God, I do.

What the [bleep] is happening?

[exhales deeply]

[Steve DiSchiavi] I'm here
in Kissimmee, Florida.

It's a city about miles
south of Orlando

and real close to where
that mouse lives.

I got a desperate call
from a woman named Lisa.

Her mom d*ed about a year ago,

and that's when all hell
broke loose.

She says whatever's there is
now going after her and her son.

I really don't like when
these things mess with kids,

so I hope Amy and I can help.

So, Lisa, when we spoke
on the phone,

we talked about
living in Florida.

I mean, you got the pool,
beautiful home.

To me, I live here as well.
It's like paradise in my opinion.

But when we spoke, [chuckles] it didn't
sound like it was paradise to you.

No, not anymore.

It's horrible.
Something's here.

It doesn't want us here.

It wants us gone or hurt.

When you say gone,
what do you mean?

Like gone away,
or gone like in dead?

Like in dead, like I think
it wants to k*ll us.

Okay.

So, Lisa, do me a favor and
let's start with the basics.

Who lives in the house?

You have my father Danny, myself,

my four-year-old son Mikey,

and my fiance Michael.

[Steve] Okay.

Do me a favor and give me a list

of what you guys
are experiencing?

[Lisa] We all see
shadow figures, doppelgangers.

We all have health issues,

and we all get
physically att*cked.

So, Lisa, one of the reasons
I took this case is obvious.

You have a child involved here.
He's four years old.

Can you describe to me
what he's experiencing?

Um, he gets pushed.

He has nightmares so bad that
he doesn't wanna go to sleep.

And he sees people.

Where's he seeing people?

He sees people
out beyond the fenceline.

Okay. Is there a house
back there, or is that...

What is that?
- [Lisa] No, it's a cypress swamp.

[Steve] So, you have nobody
living back there.
- [Lisa] No.

[Steve] And he's seeing people?

[Lisa] He sees people
back there.

So, Lisa, how long
have you been in this house?

Uh, we moved here when I was .

[Steve] So, why are you
calling us now?

[Lisa] It was always kinda light

until my mom passed away
a couple of years ago.

And then it just exploded.
It just ramped up.

So, if you don't mind me asking,

how'd she pass?
What was wrong?

Breast cancer.

How old was mom when she passed?
Do you recall?

She was .

What was your mom like?

Um...

This her?
- [Lisa] Yes.

My mom was...

...wonderful. She was
the life of the party.

She always was
the protector of everyone.

Do you think your mom is here?

Um, I don't think so.

I hope not.

Um, but I think
she's, she's moved on.

[Steve] So, what do you think
is here?

I think it's a demon.

And I think that whatever's here

wants to either badly hurt us,

or to k*ll us.

Now, there's this woman...

...who is somehow
related to the living.

I think she's in her s.

I think she had cancer.

I think that's what
she d*ed from.

And idea of when?

Like in the last to years.

Okay.

She definitely tries
to talk to everybody.

Mmm-hmm.

Yeah, she tries to talk.

And then there's a young male,

uh, that she is also, uh...

...communicating with.

And this would be a kid.

And I think they're related.

She's, like,
showing up in dreams.

They hear her talking.
They hear her crying.

So, he's had
an encounter with her.

[Steve] All right, Lisa,
so what's going on in here?

I have a lot of activity
down the hallway.

This hallway here?
- [Lisa] Yes.

[Steve] Okay, so what
are we talking about?

I see a doppelganger.

Of who?
- Of my mom.

Okay. So, obviously she was
alive when this was happening.

How do you know
it wasn't your mom?

She was physically unable to
get out of bed at that point.

That must have freaked you out.

Oh, yeah, absolutely.

Okay.

So, what else is going on?

I could be coming down
the hallway

and it could feel like somebody is
kicking my leg out from underneath me.

All right. So, let's say
this is the back of your leg,

how hard were you getting hit?

Um, I would say pretty hard.

Really?
- Yeah.

That hard?
- [Lisa] Yes.

Did you ever fall from that?
- Several times.

Yeah, it was scary.

Okay.

[Amy] I'm seeing
another old woman.

The dead are saying
she's a witch.

Something happened here.

She hit somebody.

She full on, like,
punched them or slapped them.

She hit someone.

There was a strike.

And it was hard.

It was fast. It was...

But it's like somebody here.

I feel like she's hitting
a woman.

[Steve] All right, so, Lisa,
so whose room is this?

This is mine, Mike's,
and Mikey sleeps in here with us as well.

All right, so what's going on?

I get scratches.

Okay, and how bad are they?

I mean, what are we
talking about?

Well, I have one on my hand that
I woke up with this morning.

That's... That looks like a gouge
let alone a scratch. - [Lisa] Yeah.

[Steve] Wow. And you just
woke up like that? - [Lisa] Yes.

Where else are you getting them?

Um, I also had one
on my forehead.

I actually have a picture.

That's your forehead right there?
- [Lisa] Yes.

And that was really deep.

Um, I woke up
and it was just there.

Are you the only one
getting scratched?

No. Um, Mikey also gets quite
a few scratches and bruises.

I actually have a picture.

This is your son?
- I have one for him. Yes.

Do you guys have pets?

We have a cat, but does not
come in this room at all.

All right, Lisa.
So, what are you hoping we can do for you?

Hopefully,

Amy giving us a solution
of what to do and everything.

Hopefully, you know,
living a normal, happy life.

Okay. Well, hopefully we'll
have some answers for you.

I appreciate it.

[Amy] The witch
likes to come into this room.

[exhales]

They're seeing her.

They actually see her face.

And she's just got these
really intense, dark eyes.

Something about smothering.

Okay, so, smothering, smothering,

literally putting their hand
over her face.

And just... I mean,
she's right the [bleep] over them.

They've got to feel her breath.

Um...

...she's like right there.

They can't move, can't move.

She's on them
trying to k*ll somebody.

Is it anyone in particular?

I think it's somebody
in this room.

Is there anything about them that
that's why she's focused on them?

She's just evil and a witch.

[Steve] So, Mike,
I spoke with Lisa earlier.

and, uh, she was telling me about
the stuff that's going on here,

and she seems to think
that it's pretty dangerous.

Uh, do you agree with that?
- Yes.

It definitely feels that way.

It seems like there's
something about this area

that makes people do bad things,

or seems like a bad influence.

What do you mean by that? Why?

Across the street a while back
there was a m*rder-su1c1de.

Right across the street
from the house?

Yeah, right directly
across the street.

Did you know the guy?
- [Mike] Yeah, he was a nice guy.

A good neighbor.
No problems with him.

So, Mike, you think that the
area has some kind of bad juju

that's causing people
to do bad things?

Maybe, yeah,
it kind of seems like it 'cause

he just did that out of nowhere.

Okay.

[Amy] I'm seeing a dead guy
wondering around with a g*n.

He sh**t himself in the
left side of the temple.

He starts screaming,
"She made me do it."

He's like, "She made me
sh**t myself in the head!"

[Matt] Who made him do it?

[Amy] That witch.

Well, he told me,
"I would watch her if I was you."

He's trying to warn everybody that
she's here and she is a witch.

And that is also
what their relative,

this other old woman
is trying to do.

They're both trying to warn
the living about this witch

because she's evil.

[Steve] So, what else
have you experienced?

Mikey's toys just going off
by themselves.

[Steve] Are these the type
of toys that are plugged in,

or are they battery-operated?
- Battery-operated.

Could it be a dead battery starting to
drain, it just happens?

No, I've changed them out
and made sure they're fresh

and still the same
things happen.

With all that's going on,
you can't feel good about

raising your son here.
- No.

Well, man to man,
would you like to get the hell outta here?

Yeah. Not gonna be easy,
but if we have to, we have to.

[Amy] This guy
who sh*t himself...

...he, uh, is very physical

and he can, uh,
physically effect his environment.

I suddenly start hearing, uh,

like light switches clicking on and
off, like that noise.

He says he does stuff
all the time, frequently.

He can make noises with things.

[Steve] I was talking
with Lisa and she thinks

that whatever's here is picking on
her, and Mikey in particular.

Do you agree with that?
- I do.

Okay.
- He's not a happy kid anymore.

And he's only four.
- [Danny] Yeah.

You seldom see him smile.

[Steve] And you believe that's
all from what he's going through.

I do.

So, Danny, first off,
my condolences on your wife's passing.

Thank you.
- [Steve] I'm really sorry about that.

I understand you guys
were married for a long time.

Forty... almost years.
- [Steve] Wow. Unbelievable.

Do you think she is here,
or do you think she moved on?

I think she moved on.

Good.
- I'm hoping she did anyway

because, um, I don't feel her,
you know?

So, Danny, if you can,

can you tell me about some of
the experiences you've had?

I seen, uh, a couple of
shadow men in the hallway.

Describe the first one for me.

Um, about '".
- Okay

It didn't have any features.

All right. So, what did
this second one look like?

Same thing basically, just, uh,
dark features, about a head shorter.

What? Did they do anything?
- [Danny] Nope.

They just stood there.
They looked at me.

It did feel somewhat menacing.

Okay.

[Amy] There's a male.

And, uh, this male's
on a boat and he's sick.

And he's thinking,
"We are all going to die."

He's running around outside.

So, I'm thinking any
living people would see him

and looking like
a shadow person,

but he's not.

He really wants help,

so he's telling me
he's been seen.

You know, it seems like
there's a man here

who's seen him...

...I think the most.

This man, this living man
feels older.

Uh, he's got abilities, mmm-hmm.

[Steve] So, you've seen a lot.
Anything else happen?

Well, many a nights
I'd go to bed,

and it felt like, uh,
a very strong man's hand

grabbed my calf
and just squeezed it.

Boy, it was painful.

Does it feel like fingers and a grip?
- [Danny] Yes.

Some points, it feels like
it's throwing me out of bed,

but...
- Okay. I mean, that happens to me a lot,

but it's usually because, um,

my potassium's low,
or I'm dehydrated.

Are you sure it's not something
like that happening to you?

No. I've had that happen, plus worse.
- Really.

So, anything else physical
like that happen to you?

Well, might be, uh,
coming out of my bedroom

and coming down
through the hallway,

and it feels like somebody
just punches me

right in the back.

It almost take me to my knees.

How hard? Show me on the table
how hard it hit you?

Really?
- Yep.

You know, I came here because of
stuff Mikey's going through and Lisa,

but it sounds like you're
going through your own hell.

I don't care about me.

My children and my grandchild,

that's what I worry about.

Mikey is...

He's the world to me.
- [Steve] Right.

If, uh, something
was to happen to him,

and, uh, I didn't do anything,

get any help for him...
- [Steve] Right.

...I don't know what I'd do.

The dead guy from the boat likes
the older living man with abilities.

He's trying to get
his attention.

Touching... Touching him.
Touching him.

Mmm-hmm.

Talking to him. Mmm-hmm.

Whoa.

Like, he's so heightened that for
a living person to be around him,

it literally, like, just,

like your personal energy
is like, [exhales]

like your body doesn't know
how to react.

That's odd.

[Steve] First thing I do
when I get to a new location

is reach out to locals who
might be able to help my case,

cops, historians, professors.

I just got a call from a local
author who I've worked with before.

She says Lisa's property used to
be owned by a pair of brothers

who had nothing but bad luck the
second they bought that land.

Well, it's good to see you
again, Dr. Stark.

So, who exactly are these guys
that own my client's property?

Well, we are talking about
Leonard and Julius Jack Rosen.

Leonard is the elder brother
born in .

And Julius was born in .

All right,
so we got two brothers.

What else can you
tell me about them?

Well, they grew up
in Baltimore, Maryland,

and they were
two of four children,

born to Fannie
and Abraham Rosen,

who were Jewish immigrants.

Okay. - [Brandy] Uh,
Fannie came from Russia

and Abraham came
from the Ukraine.

Okay. So, now,
before the brothers make it to Florida,

anything else I should know
about these guys or the family?

Well, they do have
a bit of a rough road

because around
Abraham dies.

Uh, , their elder sister
Edith d*ed of cancer.

Leonard had to support
the family

Uh, he and his brother Julius
did work together very well,

and they were quite successful
in the retail industry.

All right, so how do
these guys wind up in Florida?

So, they come down
to visit in

and fall in love with what is
essentially unincorporated Lee County.

They decided to buy
square miles of land.

They ended up naming it Cape Coral.
- [chuckles]

That's where I live.
- [Brandy] They are the founders.

[Steve] When did they
wind up over here?

So, in , the Rosen brothers
come over here to Kissimmee

and they buy up some,
basically swamp land

with the idea that they're going to
create a development called Poinciana.

It is the land, uh,
that your client's house is on.

At the start,
you mentioned on the phone

that the minute these guys bought my
client's property, things went bad.

What happened?
- In ,

Julius Rosen has a massive heart
att*ck and dies at the age of .

Leonard then had to deal with
the death of his sister Sylvia

one year later.

Now, she was only ,

and she d*ed of what we
believe might have been cancer.

Now, it's hard on Leonard,

so as the surviving sibling,

he now endures
some negative health

because in
he had a massive heart att*ck.

Now, he does survive,
but it set him back a bit.

All right.
So, we got Leonard here,

loses two siblings who are
younger than him. - Mmm-hmm.

[Steve] He has
a massive heart att*ck in '.

He recovers from that, but, I
mean, do things get better for him?

Unfortunately, they do not.

In , he has to declare
Chapter bankruptcy.

So he loses everything, right?

Quite a bit of money,
$,, that he loses,

which in today's currency
is about $,,. - Ooh.

Ultimately dies in
from natural causes.

It had to be tough for somebody who
comes from such humble beginnings

to making a success.

I mean, $,,.

And then to have that
slip through your fingers.

I'm surprised he didn't have
another heart att*ck.

Yeah, me too.

I'm seeing a little cemetery,
mmm-hmm, mmm-hmm.

Yes, yes, yes.

Definitely people buried.

And then there's four people
from this place, you know?

And they're coming.
They're coming.

And they're pissed off.

I think they're family.

They had something here.
They're mad.

Uh, everything got pushed away.

There's, like, two men, two men.

One's an old, old man.

He definitely
owned something here.

Any idea what this was?

I don't feel like it was
that long ago with them.

I think they're German.

[Steve] So, Mike told me
there was a m*rder-su1c1de

right across
the street from him.

I made some calls
and it checks out.

I'm on my way
to meet a retired cop

to see what led up
to this tragic k*lling.

All right. So, my client talked
about this m*rder-su1c1de.

What were you able to find out?

This m*rder-su1c1de
actually happened

about feet
from your client's home.

Thirty-four-year old
by the name of Jesus Nunez.

Okay, so he's our perp.

Yes.

So what do we know
about this guy?

He lived with his girlfriend
Stephanie Ruiz

who he'd been dating
for years,

and they lived in this house
with their four children.

All right, so what went down?

Well, in the early morning
hours of June , ,

after a night of heavy drinking
and a lot of drug use...

Okay. - ...apparently Mr. Nunez
flew into a violent rage

and he ended up sh**ting
one of his best friends.

We have any idea why?

I mean, what the hell
was going on?

Well, we really don't know why.

but he kicked in the door where
his girlfriend was, Stephanie,

and he sh*t and k*lled her too.

Sounds like he might've
thought something was going on?

There was some speculation,

he was a very jealous
and controlling person, yes.

The kids okay at this point?

Or is he going for the kids?

The kids are fine.
- Thank God the kids are okay.

My client said that
he eventually k*lled himself,

do we know how that went down?

Yes, he actually walked outside,

put a g*n to his head
and k*lled himself.

Okay, so this all happened
right on the property?

Right outside.

This is a quiet neighborhood,

so this had to be big news?

It was very big news.

As a matter of fact I found an article
that talks about the situation.

[Stephen] Okay, do we know what
kind of dr*gs they were doing?

[Ken Afienko] Yeah, they
were doing cocaine.

[Stephen] Right, so he was whacked
out on coke, plus the booze.

According to my client
he was a good guy,

so this came out of nowhere.

[Amy Allan] I'm seeing
the guy who sh*t himself.

He's tall, he's thin.

His body was destroyed.

Uh, not where he wanted.

Uh, that's why he's here.

Uh, there's so many emotions with
him, it's painful.

[loud zapping]

[exhaling]

So far, I have a client

who thinks something
evil is going after her,

and her -year-old son,

on a property across the street

from where a double
m*rder-su1c1de took place.

But I wanna see
if there's anything else.

Searching through old records,

I found out Lisa's house

was smack down in the
middle of a bloody battle

between Native Americans
and the Spanish.

So I'm meeting a local
Native American historian.

Says he'll explain what
led up to all the bloodshed.

In this case it wasn't settlers
pushing the tribes out,

but a bitter fight
over religion.

Little, thanks
for meeting with me,

I appreciate you helping me out.

Uh, let me ask you a question,
why'd you wanna meet here?

Well, I wanna meet you here

because the village that I have,

um, is very similar to the
way the Jororo native people

would've lived right
here in these swamps.

What was their life like?

I mean, how did they
function every day?

Well these folks who lived here

were basically
your swamp people.

Okay. - [Little] They lived
solely upon what the swamp

provided for their
everyday survival.

They were able to use these
dugout canoes that they made

and be able to go all through
these lake systems out here.

So they were able to go
from one place to another.

So, Little, I know things didn't go
well for the Jororo, what happened?

Well, in the late 's,

the Spaniards begin to build
missions all over Florida

and some of them
right around here.

Okay, so they were trying
to bring Catholicism here?

Absolutely.

Was the tribe pissed about this?

Well, not at first.

It was, uh, taken in very well.

As a matter of fact,
Jororo Chief Ajapa,

he converted.

He was converted
into Catholicism.

All right, so when
does the trouble start?

Well in , um, the natives
went to the priest

and told him to stop teaching
Christianity to the native people.

Okay, so does the priest stop?

No, he didn't,
he continued to teach.

And which the Jororo rebels

went to Chief Ajapa and demanded
that they k*ll the priest,

uh, for not listening.

He refused.

And he refused?
- [Little] Right.

So with that, he lost
his life, they k*lled him.

All right, so now
the chief's dead.

What about this priest?
Do they go after him?

Well they did go
after the priest.

Um, they went to the mission,
uh, they k*lled the priest.

Uh, they k*lled two altar boys

that were also Jororo,

and then they
b*rned down the mission.

Can I assume that
the Spanish retaliated?

Oh, yeah, they retaliated.

They sent a guide
with soldiers after the rebels

and they were k*lled
really quick.

So what happens after that?

Well they did send
a second group.

Uh, guides with a bunch
of soldiers this time.

But this time, the soldiers
got lost in them swamps.

They just kept them wandering
around, wandering around.

And as far as we know,
they're still wandering.

Okay, so they never
made it out of the swamp?

Never made it out
of them swamps.

What happened to
the Jororo people?

After all that was going on

they just figured that the
Spaniards were not gonna give up.

Okay. - [Little] They were
gonna keep on sending soldiers

so they took off
and headed up north.

That's where they begin
to live their lives.

It's kind of a shame because they
got driven out of their own land.

Yeah.
- Over religion?

Over religion.

[Amy] I met eight men.

They were all naked, uh,
the were all very, very young.

They were on a ship
different than the other guy.

And I heard that
they were soldiers.

They came across the seas.

It was an army, uh,
and they were kids.

This was a very, very,
very long time ago.

So long ago, hardly
any people were here.

Yes, yes, yes,
definitely people buried.

Hmm, hmm, hmm,
definitely people buried.

Hmm, hmm.

[muttering incoherently]

I saw a lot of disturbing
things on my walk

but two stood out.

First, the old woman who
recently d*ed in the house.

She was pretty, uh, petit.

Uh, so probably five-feet tall.

I remember at the time thinking she
was, like, in her sixties.

She didn't really have eyebrows.

Describe the woman's hair.

It was, like, super,
super short.

I remember getting that she d*ed
from, I believe, cancer

which might be why she doesn't
have eyebrows or eyelashes.

Next, I describe the witch
attacking the living person.

I believe I'm laying down
on a bed, looking up.

And this woman has her hand

over my mouth.

What was her expression like?

The look in her eyes is,
like, "ha, ha, I've got you."

Amy, is this what you saw?

Yes.

[Stephen] Now that Amy and I
have completed our investigations

we're ready to reveal
our findings to each other.

and our clients
for the first time.

So Amy, I want you to meet Lisa

and her father, Danny.

Um, now, two other
people live here

and that's Lisa's fiancee, Mike

and their -year-old son, Mikey.

Now, Lisa grew up in this house

and it means a lot to her.

But, in the past
couple of years,

things have gotten really bad.

So bad, she's convinced
that whatever's here,

wants to k*ll them all.

So, Amy, now that you know
a little bit about these guys,

uh, why don't you tell us
about your walk?

[Amy] When I arrived,

I was getting that there
was a cemetery,

or a cemetery nearby.

Then these four people
come from that direction.

Two of them are men.

I think they're all family.

I believe that they're German.

They seemed
fairly recent, like, 's.

One of them was a very old man.

He apparently owned something
here at one time

and it got pushed or taken away.

He felt it was really
disrespectful to him

and to his family.

And he's not a happy
camper, he's not happy.

So, Amy, you got a family
that own the land around here,

they felt disrespected.

And they feel like things
got pushed away.

You could be talking about the
original owners of the property.

Um, they were brothers named
Leonard and Julius Rosen.

This is Leonard who
is the older one

and this is Julius
who was his younger brother.

And they were two
of four children

born to Jewish immigrants,
um, who got here in .

They weren't from Germany but
they were from Ukraine and Russia.

The Rosens grew up in Baltimore

and made a fortune in retail.

Now things were good except for
the tragic death of a sister

who d*ed of cancer in .

Now in the 's they took
a vacation to Florida

and fell in love with the state.

So they moved here and
formed a real estate company

that basically built the city I live
in, which is Cape Coral.

Then they bought
a ton of land in Kissimmee,

including the spot
we're all sitting in now.

That's when things
started to go wrong.

Now, the first tragedy happened to
Julius, the younger brother.

He d*ed of a heart att*ck
in at the age of .

Now, a year later, the Rosen's
younger sister, Sylvia dies of cancer,

she was just .

So now we got one Rosen
sibling left, Leonard.

He's running the business alone

and then he suffers
a heart att*ck in .

But he survives.

But things go from bad to worse.

In the mid-s his company
had to file bankruptcy

and Leonard lost
$ million as a result.

He d*ed in ,
probably a bitter guy.

[Amy] Interesting.

[Stephen] All right,
so Amy, what else happened?

[Amy] So, I saw this guy
on a boat

and while he was on the boat

he kept screaming, like,
"we're all going to die."

He is often in the back
and I really thought

that you guys may
see him out there.

I didn't know if you would
see him as a shadow person

or as an actual person.

You know, it seems like
there's a man here,

who's seen him...

...I think the most.

This man, this living man
feels older.

Uh, he's got abilities.
Mmm-hmm.

He indicated that he has
tried on occasion

to reach out to this male.

Uh, either by talking to him

or trying to touch him.

[Stephen] Danny, do me a favor,

tell Amy about what
happened to your calves.

[Danny] Yeah, when
I go to bed at night

it feels like a very strong,
large man's hand,

grabs my calves
and just squeezes.

Hmm.

And it gets very painful.

Tell her about the two
shadow me you told me about.

Down the hallway...

...I saw one shadow guy.

And he was standing
at the den door

looking into the den.

About a minute or so later
another one came up,

was standing beside him.

Now could this...
All these...

...things that are happening,
all you've seen,

be the guy from the boat?

I mean, I'm a little concerned
that might be him.

[Stephen] What else we got?

[Amy] There are three dead people
who spend time inside your house.

The first one is an older woman.

Uh, I got that she was a relative
of the people who live here now.

Her death though
was fairly recent.

I would say within
the last ten to years.

Got that she d*ed from cancer,

was in her mid to late sixties.

She was telling me she was trying
to talk to everybody in the house,

uh, but mostly an older male

and a younger male,
a little boy.

And I got that they might
be grandfather and grandson.

That sounds like my wife.

Yeah, you okay?

[Lisa] Thank you.

Yeah, that was Lisa's mom.

d*ed a couple of years
ago from cancer.

Mmm, mmm.

Yeah, her name was Connie.
- [Danny] Connie, yep.

And, uh, she was
when she passed.

She was the protector
of the family.

And she was best friends
with Mikey, my son.

Danny, how long
were you guys married?

Uh, about, uh, years.

She was, uh, a very
strong-willed woman.

Mmm.

Something interesting
we gotta talk about.

While your mom was alive,

Lisa saw her doppelganger.

[Lisa] She would just come
walking down the hallway

and then you'd, like,
turn around, like,

the devil's head, like,
why are you out of bed?

You know...
- Mmm.

...this isn't even possible,
and then gone.

I'd never seen anything
like that in my life.

Lisa, tell Amy how, basically,
the activity skyrocketed

after your mom passed.

We always kind of had
some activity here,

but it was almost immediately
as soon as she passed,

everything just kind
of ramped up.

v*olence kind of started happening,

we had started getting hurt.

Um, so I always kind
of felt like she was always

trying to kind of protect us.

Like, she was always trying to
take, like, the brunt of it for us.

So, Amy, I've got
a photo of Connie.

Uh, is it possible this is
who you wound up seeing?

I had a sketch done
of the person that I saw.

It looks just like her.

You think?

Yeah, what, are you kidding me?

You guys tells me?

Yeah, when she d*ed.

[Lisa] You think that it's Mom?

I do.

And how do you feel about that?

I'm not happy about that.

'Cause I was hoping
she would move on

and be happy with her family.

And you said there were three
dead people in the house though?

[Amy] Mmm.
- Yeah, who's next?

There's a dead male.

He likes to mess
with electronics.

Mike was telling me
that little Mikey's toys

just go on, out of nowhere.

[Lisa] It's a little freaky.

He told me that
he sh*t himself in the head,

he's very upset about his body.

Whatever was done
with him after he d*ed

is not what he wanted done.

Now, as far as who
this guy might be...

Sounds a lot like
these guys' former neighbor,

his name was Jesus Nunez.

Now, he was
and lived in the house

right across the street
from here.

He lived with his girlfriend of years,
Stephanie Ruiz, and her four children.

On June , , after a night of
partying, Nunez snapped.

First he sh*t and k*lled
his best friend.

Then he knocked down the door
and k*lled his girlfriend.

What?

He then walked out
to the front door,

pointed a g*n to his head
and blew his brains out.

What?

I got an article here
about this.

[Amy] So, do you think they were
having an affair or something?

[Stephen] Uh, it kind of leans that
way, yeah. - Mmm-hmm.

I spoke to Mike, Lisa's fiancee

and he says...
- [Amy] Geez.

...Jesus was a stand-up guy.

He never saw it coming.

I thought he was a pretty
decent guy myself.

[Amy] That guy who sh*t
himself in the head

and this female, your mom,

are trying to warn you guys,
about this third person.

It's an older woman.

They've nicknamed her the witch.

The guy who k*lled himself

he says that she made...

...that whole
situation happen.

Oh, she influenced it.
- [Amy] Yes.

Wow.

Now, you said they've
been trying to warn them...

Mmm.
- ...of this woman, the witch.

Mmm.
- Why?

[Amy] Mmm.
- What was she doing?

'Cause she's out of control.

Uh, so she's dangerous,
she's physical.

Now, I did see her hitting
a woman in the face.

There was a strike
and it was hard.

Just... [imitates crunch]

Then I saw her down
the hall to the left.

And... - [Stephen] That's
where Lisa and Mike sleep

with little Mikey.

Mmm. So she's honed
in on somebody in there.

And I saw her trying
to smother that person.

I felt like they could
feel her breath on their face.

I did have a sketch done of her

and it's from that perspective,

'cause I was in
the person's body

looking up at her.

[paper rustling]

Oh, I see what you're saying.

Oh.

[Lisa] Wow.

Scary eyes.

[Danny] She got
some big hands, too.

I've had so many things happen to
me, uh, back there.

I actually have a scar,

Um, I'd woken up,
almost identical spots,

right here, and it's already almost
scabbed over by the time I wake up.

So, Amy, Lisa's not the only one
getting scratched in the house.

Um, this is s photo
of little Mikey.

And the scratches
he's been getting.

I mean, could that
have been this witch.

Yes.

You mention that this witch
has her eyes set on someone.

You know, I'd lean
more towards...

...you.

But it wouldn't surprise me,
your son either.

What does she want
to do to that person?

Oh, she'll just k*ll.

[intense music plays]

He's the light of my life.

I wouldn't want anything
to happen to him.

If someone was to hurt him...

[scoffing]

...they would have
hell to pay.

I'd sh**t myself
just to go get him.

[intense music plays]

[sniffing]

[Stephen] Lisa, you thought
there was a demon in the house?

Good news is, there isn't.

Yeah.

The bad news is,
this witch may as well be, right? - Yeah.

[Stephen] So now it's time
to answer your big question.

Is there anything you can do to
kick this old bag out of the house

and go back to living
a peaceful life?

Or are you just gonna
have to pack up and leave?

For that answer I'm gonna
turn it over to Amy.

[Amy] What I would
like to do is have a...

...female, older medium,
uh, who's very strong minded

come in and make
contact with her.

She's gonna show her how she
can move on and get out of here

Once she leaves,
your mom, your wife,

and the dude with the...

g*nsh*t.
- g*nsh*t wound.

They'll go.

Because the only reason
they're both staying here

is because of her.

The second thing that needs to be done
is, to move on,

the guy outside.

So this medium will then go out

and help him to move on as well.

Okay?

So then everybody's gone.

Do you think...

'Cause my son is always
trying to pick up on things

and seeing things.

Do you think he has abilities?

[Amy] Yeah.

You know, he's only four.

So, you know, more than likely

he'll grow out of it now.
- [Lisa] Right.

Because this is all
going to be resolved.

So we want him just to heal up

and, you know, move on.

This is the most
chipper I've seen you...

[Lisa laughing]
- ...in the last few days.

[Lisa] It's good news.
- Yeah.

[Stephen] Could've been worse,
could've been what you thought.

It could've been much worse.

[Stephen]
Isn't that great news?

Yeah, it's a weight
off your shoulders.

I feel lighter,
already I feel lighter.

You have no idea how much
we appreciate you folks.

Real happy that this
is good news for you.

It is very good news.
Thank you so much.

[Amy] I really hope Lisa and her
father, Danny, contact a medium

to remove the witch and the other
dead trapped inside their home.

Once they do that,

things with Mikey
should improve dramatically

and this family will find the
peace and happiness they deserve.

We're still looking
for a female medium

to come in and clear the house.

Um, the activity is still...
Still here.

We're trying to stay positive.

And I just know as soon as we
find the right female medium,

everything's gonna
feel lighter and lifted

and just so much better.

Thank you Steve
and Amy for coming out.
