Post by bunniefuu »

Thousands applied...

You've made it through to Judges' Homes.

And now just acts remain.

They've been split into categories

and last week, the judges found out
which category they'll mentor.

The boys.

The girls.

The groups.

Oh my gosh.

The over s.

Really?

And tonight, the acts travelled to the judges' homes,

to fight for a place in the live shows.

With LA Reid, the boys.

With Simon Cowell, the girls.

With Paula Abdul, the groups.

And with Nicole Scherzinger, the over s.

I just don't want it to end right here.

must become .

I made a decision.

It's time...

I struggled with this.

To face...

I'm sorry.

The music.

It's bad news. You didn't make it.

Welcome to The X Factor.

Where tonight the remaining acts jet
around the world for what could be

the most important
two days of their lives.

As acts are cut to just ,

the stakes have never been higher.

This...

is Judges' Houses.

Yes, the final have now been split into categories.

Boys under , girls under ,
over s and groups.

The groups are heading to Santa Barbara
to meet their mentor, Paula Abdul.

The boys are heading to the Hamptons
and the home of LA Reid.

The over s are heading to Malibu
to meet their mentor, Nicole Scherzinger.

And the girls are jetting off to France
to face Simon Cowell.

How many girls my age say that? Wow.

While the judges found out which
category they'll be mentoring last week,

as they settle on their journeys, the contestants
still don't know which judge will be their mentor.

I'm excited to find out which
judge's home I'm going to.

I cannot believe that I'm going to France.

After a -hour flight,
the girls have arrived.

And for Rachel, Tora, Simone, Drew,
Caitlin, Jazzlyn, Tiah and Melanie,

this is where the competition
truly begins.

You know, while it's amazing being in France,
it's all about what happens next,

when I meet my mentor and that performance

and that's the performance that's going
to either keep me here and send me back home.

This is my life on the line,
this is my career.

But only one person can decide if they'll make it
to the live finals, or if they'll be heading home.

This is the category I wanted.

I'm actually more happy for them,
than I am for me.

If we win this competition,
we get to live... here.

Now it's time for them to
find out who their mentor is.

I'm so happy, I'm so happy.

You know like Simon is
like my new judge, you know.

The biggest fear just came over me.
I'm going to perform in front of Simon Cowell.

I can't mess up.

This is, absolutely, the category I wanted.

Because I know the winner is in this category.

On the other side of the world, in
Santa Barbara, California...

The groups have arrived.

- Nicole.
- Nicole.

Definitely not a guy.

If it's LA, or Simon...
no offence.

It's a little girly, it's cool though.

Competing in the groups
category are...

The Stereo Hoggz,

The Brewer Boys,
The Anser,

Squad,
Illusion Confusion

Shore and two groups that the judges
formed at Bootcamp.

Intensity and Lakoda Rayne.

I haven't seen anything like this.

So it's such a great opportunity for us,
especially since we're new

as a group together.

And they will be mentored
by Paula Abdul.

I'm thrilled to have the groups.

There is nobody better.

I built a whole career in
choreography and staging and

producing live acts.

And I work best for the groups.
I can't wait...

to see them deliver.

Time for the groups to meet their mentors.

Paula, literally, has had a superstar career.

So just to have that title of experience
...is epic.

She represents everything a woman wants to be.

A lot of you may not know, but...

when I got to this category,
I was very excited.

I knew it was going to be a big challenge.

But a lot of you may not know,
I specialise in working with groups.

I've helped more than shaped many superstar careers

and worked with the Jacksons,
worked with ZZ Top, Duran Duran...

this is what I love to do.

So I'm very excited to be working with you.

I love you guys too.

Meanwhile, down the coast...

the over s are in Malibu.

And Elaine.

Tiger.

Krista.

Leroy.

James.

Stacy.

Josh and Dexter.

Are all wondering who their mentor might be.

I believe this is Simon's house
because it's the biggest house I've ever heard.

I'd love for LA Reid or Simon
to come out of the door.

I love having the over s because
it means that much more to them.

They really have a story to tell

in their music and they've lived a life.

And the wait is over for the over s.

I'm exceptionally excited to have Nicole as my judge.

She's very relevant as an artiste right now.

She also is the only one of the judges that knows
exactly what we're going through,

she came up the same way that we're going,
she made it to the top.

Welcome to Mi Casa.

I'm so excited that I've this category.

I don't know if some of you were hoping you'd have

Simon or Paula or LA...

however, I'll tell you...

that I know what it takes to
make it in this business.

Because I've been there.

And I'm there right now.

And I'm the hardest worker... believe in me.

To now commit myself %
at everything that I do.

For the boys, the destination is
the Hamptons, New York.

- It's crazy.
- An actual lake.

For Brennin, Nick,

Chris, Brian,

Tim, Marcus,

Skyelor and Phillip,
the competition has really hit home.

It's my place back here!

We're in the Hamptons!

This is like amazing to me, house is on the beach.
This is how I want to live.

At some point in life,
I know I'm going to get there.

I'm so excited to be here.
I can't wait to meet the judge.

And my mind is very focused right now.

They'll be mentored by LA Reid.

Pound for pound,
we have the most talented in this category.

This is so important.
They're so important to me.

And each one of them is going to get so much attention.
And real mentoring.

And now, they're going to find out
who their mentor is.

I just found out LA Reid is our judge.
I'm very excited.

It's amazing to have him as my judge.
I'm a little worried that

my style is gonna be different from what
he's looking for, but

hopefully I'll be able to convince him.

I'm excited.

I feel like the luckiest guy
in the world, because

I was looking to have you as my group

and I'm excited about mentoring.

Regardless of what I do,
how busy I might be,

running a record company, all of that
stuff, is secondary to-

to what I want to do with you, so,

I'm going to put a lot into it and
I hope you put as much into it as I put into it.

Man, I'm so blessed to be on LA Reid's team.

Welcome back to The X Factor.

Where the remaining acts
have been put into their categories

and travel the globe to the judges' homes.

Paula's with the groups
in Santa Barbara.

Nicole's with the over s,
in Malibu.

Simon's with the girls
in France.

And LA in the Hamptons
with the boys.

But it's time for one final surprise.

Each judge has invited a special guest
from the music industry...

to help them make their
all important decisions.

So, I brought along a friend,

to help me out.

One of the biggest international superstar

please give it up for Mr Enrique Iglesias.

Hey guys.

It's going to be hard to focus on what he's
going to say, because he's just so pretty.

When Nicole asked me to be her guest judge, I was

extremely happy,
we get along, we're good friends...

we've worked together in the past.

I want to see that one person that sticks out.

It's not so much about all the time on
vocal ability,

it's about that uniqueness.

Now for Paula to introduce her special
guest to the groups.

He's a brillant artiste himself,
as well as a brillant producer.

Please welcome, Pharrel.

Are we lucky?

Let's have some fun today.

I was super excited when Pharrel walked in.

That was just a dream
come true, honestly, to see him.

There's like a lot of talented kids here, but I was driven,
I was super driven, I think it's going to be an interesting day.

Simon and the girls' special guest has
sold over million albums.

It's a worldwide superstar.

And unfortunately...

not here.

Was gonna be Mariah Carey.

Due to Hurricane Irene, Mariah Carey's plane
hasn't left the ground

and therefore Simon has made the choice
to judge the girls alone.

The good news is that I've chosen myself
to be my guest mentor.

So it's lucky to be me twice.

And finally in the Hamptons, LA introduces
his special guest to the boys.

I gotta introduce you to
a really, really good friend of mine

who has become one of the most important
artiste in the world.

I'll just bring it here,
you just wait.

Meet Rihanna.

How are you?

Good to meet you.

Hi.

Having Rihanna as my guest judge is probably
the best thing that has ever happened to me, in like years, man.

I know this is a very big day for you guys...

I know you must be crazy and nervous...

'cause you have to audition for this
scary guy right here.

I know what that's like.
LA Reid signed me years ago, so,

I look up to him so much as a music vocal.

And I'll looking for individuality, star potential...

Just have fun. Knock it out of the park.

Let's go in, ok?

So with all the introductions made and a
quick tour of LA's home...

This is where me and my family hang out,
we watch television...

It's time to get down to business and
begin the performances.

each judge has hand-selected all the songs
for their acts to perform

Even to a backing track or
with live instruments.

And first up to show LA and Rihanna
what he's made of...

is -year-old, Brian Bradley,
from Brooklyn, New York.

You're the luckiest guy in the world
that you walked into my life today.

But LA had second thoughts at Bootcamp.

Let me give it to you purely from a rap perspective,
he's just.. too.. young.

My real name is Brian,
but Astro's my nickname.

A lot of people told me I couldn't do it

because I'm a rapper, I wasn't going to make it through.

That tells me I'm talented and I just have to
go really hard with this performance.

Does the size on this, what, essentially,
a range here in the Hamptons,
intimidate you at all?

No, not really. This actually looks like the perfect
house for me...

and my mom to live in, win the $ million,
so it's going to be awesome.

When you know your talent,
nobody can bring you down.

The performance that I'm about to do,

I know that, you know, I'm gonna get a yes.

I feel great about having LA as my judge.
I mean, I felt like I can relate to him.

Erm, I want to make it to the live shows
really, really bad

to the point that I'm practising,
every single night...

until my mom tells me to stop.

There he is.

She told me to stop last night, but I didn't.

I kept practising.
So that tells you something, I really want this.

Hi, how are you?

How are you?

Hi Brian.

Your artiste name is what?

My artiste name is The Astro National Kid,
but people call me Astro for short, so...

All right, Astro.

This is an important moment,
you know that, right?

this is when I have to decide,
of course with Rihanna's help...

whether you stay with us or whether you go home.

Is there anything you want to say to that?

You know, hopefully I get a yes.

If you do say yes, we get to continue on.

We'll be doing a collab one day,
remember that.

Go ahead, kid.

Thanks.

Thank you.

Thank you.

He's so cute.

When I'm walking on the steps,
I get nervous...

but when I get on stage, it just went away,
I just ride it out, it's pretty cool.

Rihanna is best.

Yes, Rihanna's really cool.

She's mega hot.

You know what's cool?

What?

He performs like that, his confidence,
his body language...

he's very sure, very certain.

He's what? ?

How can you measure up with singers...

when he's not a singer.

America has not judged rappers and MCs
in this environment.

Will they think of him as "not worthy that I like you"

or will they say "this guy can win"?

From Hamptons to France

Where Simon and the remaining girls are preparing
for the most important performance of their lives.

The first girl up is -year-old student, Simone
Battle, from Los Angeles, California.

Throughout the competition, Simone has
always been very confident.

My dream is to be a pop icon.

I want to have millions of screaming fans
who ask me to sign their babies.

I'm fierce.

I know that it's not about anyone else,
it's about me.

I'm here because I believe this...
no other artiste like me in the world of music today.

Simone, I think we need more confidence from you.

I just thrive being on stage. I love singing.
I love writing music.

I was about when I realised that I wanted to sing.

My parents are both teachers,
and no one's famous in my family, but

I wanted to be on TV.

I wanted to, you know,
I guess, I just like to be the centre of attention.

The last time the judges saw me,
I definitely forgot my words.

and even if I forget the words,
I'll do what I can...

Simone, you didn't remember either a single word of that song.

This time, Simone's going be on point,
she's not forgetting her lyrics.

I'm going to go on there, I'm going to k*ll it and
I'm going to walk away, feeling good about my performance.

You look fantastic, Simone.

Thank you Simon.

Great.

Well done, you.

Thank you.

My voice cracked a couple of times.
I was nervous...

I'm not going to lie, you know.

I'm just glad, I'm just...

To help Simon make his decision, he is joined by
vocal coach Savan Kotecha.

She's not the best singer.

I think she's fantastic.

She's been singing like she wants so bad.

She has that star thing.

I thought the cr*ck, it kind of added to
the emotions, it bothered me.

Not sure what she was wearing, dude.

Now that's how that's so interesting about her.

Welcome back to The X Factor.

Where the remaining acts have been
broken into categories

and flown all over the world to the Judges' Homes.

The girls are with Simon in France.

The boys with LA and Rihanna
in the Hamptons.

The over s are with Enrique and Nicole
in Malibu.

And the groups are in Santa Barbara.

Where they are about to receive a little pep
talk from Paula and her guest judge, Pharrel.

This is gonna be extremely hard, because
at the end of the day...

the two of us have to come up with a very difficult
way of deciding which acts are going to move on.

As much as everybody in here knows a damn of potential
and that they're the most serious hopeful in the room.

Everybody in this room is not gonna make it.

All I can say is...

Damn it, just bring it! Ok?

First up is a group who grew up as best friends.

The Anser is representing here in Santa Barbara.

We're loving it.

And for The Anser, it wasn't easy getting to this point.

We literally just drove from Salt Lake City,
Utah to... Seattle.

It was a hour drive. When we get there,
it was like or in the morning...

We got in a huge catch of a line.

We were, like, at the end of the line.

Dude, I just literally spent all of my money to
come here so I stand in thousands of people.

I'll say yes.

Yes, yes, yes.

Honour to have you, yes.

yesses.

- Thank you so much.
- Thank you.

Here we are.

We're from Salt Lake City, Utah,

which is a very modern community.

We all feel like fish out of water, until
we started singing together.

And hence The Anser.

This competition literally has made us brothers.

We all are best friends before this whole thing
really got started.

But now literally blood could make us really closer.

This is crazy.

Being in the Judges' Houses, which is groups...

Now it's on you, this is the real hardcore, like, talent.

This performance that we're about to do is...

the scariest moment of my life, so far.

The $ million recording contract belongs to The Anser.

It's something that we know and we're here to prove it.

Hello.

Hello.

You know, congratulations for making it this far and...

Well deserved and we're excited.

Where is the red glasses, man?

Red glasses?

They chilling out on the side.

They'd naturally use them?

I thought that was cool on the, on the, on the tape.

Let's hear you blow us away.

Thank you.

Thank you so much.

Cool.

The kid with the glasses has to master that one.

Only can go through.

Only groups right?

Could that have gone better?

It can always go better.

This is something we're gonna be doing forever.
It's just what we feel.

You can't stop how you feel.

I hope you guys get it.

- Thank you.
- Thank you.

While The Anser wait their fate...

Down the coast in Malibu...

Nicole and her special guest, Enrique Iglesias,
are getting the over s ready for

their time in the spotlight.

I want you to throw away all the opinions,
everything that the music industry said that

this is nearly impossible to do right now.

Well, I'm in my s, so you come to that point
when you've seen it all and...

You know about it, you've been through rejection.

You're obviously amazingly talented because you're all here.

So now it's just time to make a guess.
Just go for it. This is do or die.

And we can do it.

The time has come for the over s to perform...

for Nicole and Enrique.

And first up is -year-old, Dexter Heygood.

One of the funkiest acts I've seen up here,
I'm gonna have to say yes.

But you actually can sing.

That's why I'm happy to say you got yesses.

But in Bootcamp,
Dexter struggled to find his onstage identity.

The weakest was actually Dexter, you know why?

Because he keeps imitating Mick Jagger.

I like Dexter.

Now, the stakes of the competition has hit home.

I was homeless. Skid row. Los Angeles in .

Every second I was homeless, I'd look at myself
and I'd say...

"Man, you can do better than this."

When music was always the thing that kept me alive.

This is good for me.

To come from where I've been to the Judges' Houses.

It's the biggest thing I've ever experienced in my life.

A lot of times, I wanted to give up...
I wanted to give up, but I never quit.

I never give up on my dreams and to be this close is...

more than a dream come true.
It's a blessing, it's a prayer.

Hello.

How are you doing, Dexter?

Fairly well.

Fairly... well.

Well, it's so beautiful out here,
how could I be doing any better?

No clouds in the sky.

There is no clouds in the sky today.

Alright, let's play.

Thank you, Dexter.

He made it his own in the verses.

I'd have liked to have heard the song a little bit more.

He's entertaining... given the song in its own.

And I think he k*lled it.

I missed some lyrics and I think the judges noticed it
and I don't think I can move on to the next step.

I want to be the best. You know what I want.

Nobody has doubted how much it means to you, ok?

It ain't over yet.

It ain't over yet.

Welcome back to The X Factor.

We're back in the Hamptons, the remaining boys are fighting

for a place in the live finals.

And next to face the boys' mentor LA Reid
and special guest, Rihanna...

is -year-old, Skyelor Anderson.

At my first audition, I got on the stage and I started singing.

My CD stopped.

Moment to be, so I just kept singing.

Did you track cut off or...?

I came too far to stop, man...

You know what...

That's great.

People would think I do R&B or...

You know, something that a regular African-American would do.

Country music talks about my life and tells a life story.

See, my father takes his last breath in front of me.
He d*ed of cancer.

I lost my brother years ago, somebody robbed him

and he got sh*t many times.

I've been in a lot of hard times in my life, you know,

listen to country music, I really relate to it, you know.

Before I turn , I'd love to be the youngest black country singer.

That's my dream right there.

It would mean a lot to me.

I'd live not just because of the $ million.

But also I'd live because it'd help my family out.

Give my momma the house that she even dream for.

Just buy me some land...

I could live in this lifestyle.

This is very different from where I live.

It amazes me.

It's crazy to think that of us are going home.

I'm kind of worried about the kids, it's so weird.

It means a lot to me. I wanna be a country singer
for the rest of my life.

Hello.

How are you feeling?

Great to see you.

Thank you.

I mean the dimensions of his voice

are incredible.

He has a lot of material to work with.

He does, right?

It needs to be polished.

Now it's all about waiting out. I think I did enough.

I did the best thing I could be.

I wondered if he chose country as a genre...

or if he's an authentic country singer.

I just felt like two of me in my stomach.

I'm glad Rihanna was there because she knows
how it feels to be on stage

and about to perform in front of billionaires.

This guy can really change your life.

Meanwhile, in France...

-year-old Tora Woloshin, from Tucson, Arizona

is hoping she can impress the girls' mentor, Simon Cowell.

At my first audition, I was so excited to-

to hear all those yesses and to get through.

I'm going to say yes.

I absolutely love you, Tora.

When Tora's back home, she's working on earning

her automative technology degree.

Singing is definitely my main focus, but

I've always had an interest in cars since I was
the little girl playing with Hot Wheels.

I want to eventually build race cars.

Even though I love racing cars...

and working on cars,
singing is always gonna be at the top of the charts.

This is my dream.

But the pressure is taking its toll,

putting Tora's dream in jeopardy.

I'm struggling with the song.

This is definitely work.

The lyrics are really sinking in and I'm kind of
having a little bit of trouble memorising them.

I just am losing it. I can't.

Winning this competition would change my life forever.

I'd be able to do everything I want to do
since I was a little girl.

Hello.

Hello.

You feeling good?

Good. Ok, best of luck.

- Thank you.
- Thank you.

See you later.

Oh my God, I didn't forget the words.

You nailed the words. You even nailed the song.

She sounds like a little rock star.

It does have that star thing.

But it's gonna be hard work.

It all sounds right, there is something...

I can't explain it.

It doesn't quite get to me.

I agree.

Welcome back to The X Factor.

We're back in Santa Barbara, California.

The remaining groups are gearing up to perform

for Paula Abdul and guest judge, Pharrel.

Next up is a group who wouldn't even together
at the start of the competition.

Paige, Hayley,

Karen and Danny,

auditioned all over the country as solo artistes.

At the final stage of Bootcamp,
the girls are rejected from the competition.

I'm really sorry.

And thought, they were going home for good.

However, they were called back on stage.

And offered a lifeline by the judges.

You, four of you to come in as a group, I think you would
have blown away the competition.

Now... you're in the groups category.

As soon as Simon told us that he's turning us into
a pop country group...

I think we all kind of panicked.

I was shocked.

I walked off stage and I just told them,

"I'm done. I'm not doing it."

I'm dropping out of the competition.

I don't understand.

Why?

'Cause in my heart is not into the groups.

Like the gut feeling, my heart is saying no.

It's not fair to you guys. 'Cause you guys are amazing,
and you're going to go far.

I feel like I'm letting you guys down.

It's a bad reaction.

Once I thought about it...

I was like, no, "I need to do this."

Just because it's out of my comfort zone...

doesn't mean that it can't be good.

I came up with the best idea for all the girls to come to my house...

Danny flew in from California,

Hayley flew in from Texas,

and I drove from Baltmore.

We have never heard each other sing, so...

the first time we met each other is basically
like cats being pulled by their tails.

And we practise together.

And I'm really proud of all the progress we made.

And we're Lakoda Rayne.

Lakoda means allies, friendship and unity

and Rayne is blessings from above.

We decided that this is our alter ego.

This is our first performance ever as a group

and it's scary because you don't know how it's gonna turn out.

This is a one opportunity to show all of what we have.

We're all sharing the same exact dream.
And we all want this. Just as bad.

Hello.

Lakoda Rayne.

Yes, it is.

Are you excited?

- Oh yeah.
- Yes.

Are you working well together?

Absolutely.

It's surprising that, in a short amount of time, how well
we blend and work together.

Great. We can't wait to hear what you got.

Thank you so much.

You know what? Erm...

We were just thrown together at first,

we were completely frazzled, you know, as solo artistes

and we've grown like sisters.

And honestly, we've practised and
it's been such a short amount of time...

I can only imagine what can happen

even be able to work with you and be mentored by the best

you know what-what we can become.

Very cool.

Thank you.

It must be tough just being thrown into a group
when you know you wanted to be a solo artiste.

I think we all walked off and just felt like...

"Something was odd"

But I'm hopeful that they understand our situation.

Hopefully that was enough to get us through.

We're the best.

Welcome back to The X Factor

and the Judges' Houses performances.

Tonight, the remaining acts travel across
the world all fighting for a place

in the live shows.

They have been split into categories

Boys under , girls under , the over s
and the groups.

And gone to the homes of the judges who will act as
their mentors for the rest of the competition.

In France, the remaining girls
have met up with their mentor, Simon Cowell.

I know the winner is in this category.

In Santa Barbara, the groups are with Paula and guest judge, Pharrel.

Let's have fun today.

While in Malibu, the over s and Nicole have been joined by...

Enrique Iglesias.

And in the Hamptons, the surviving boys will perform for LA Reid

and his special guest, Rihanna.

The judges have chosen a song for each act to perform

and with just spots up for grabs,

this is, without doubt, the biggest challenge of their lives.

So, back to Malibu and Nicole's home...

where the over s are all waiting anxiously for their turn.

I was ok and then they said I'm next.

Ok Stacy.

Oh my God.

And next up is mom of , Stacy Francis.

At my first audition, there must have been over thousand people.

To get from that... to going on the stage...

that was unreal.

When that happened, it was as if possibilities opened up.

There was like going of hope that came in at that
moment and I was like...

"Ok, I might actually have a sh*t here".

Something in me has changed,

I never thought I was good enough,

I just never tried.

So now, I'm changing my mind about it.

Coming here shows you the possibilities of what life can give you.

You know, and to think that I'm over in my little apartment

in my little one-bedroom.

You know, sometimes distress about how I'm going to make it

and that this exists and that I can actually go sing a song

in this kind of environment.

It's like... baffling.

I had to borrow this dress. And these shoes.

And I'm like, "Look, you gotta like make this happen, girl".

This one song could change everything

could change my life, my children's life, forever.

I'm fighting for it. I'm fighting for it.

Hi Stacy.

Hi.

You can start whenever you want.

Thank you.

This is everything to me.

I just feel like I have it in me and it's my time.
I just don't want it to end right here.

I'm a performer. I have it in me.

That's all I could say.

- Thank you.
- Thank you guys so much.

It's hard because...

I don't understand,

she has all the talent,

she will only be as great as her fears and her insecurities and doubts.

No one will deny how important this is to you.

Do you think it's enough?

I hope so.

I just want to be on today. It's like all I want to do.
It's what I really been breathing for. It's all I, it's all I, ever want to do.

Welcome back to The X Factor,
here in Santa Barbara,

where Paula and Pharrel continue to judge the groups category.

Next up are... The Brewer Boys.
brothers from Temecula, California,

who first auditioned in Los Angeles.

I'm Nathan and I'm years old.

I'm Justin and I'm years old.

We are The Brewer Boys.

I'm more kind of like the goofy, dorky kind of guy.

He's like the social butterfly all the time,

he's always like going, he's going around
you know, like, say hi to people and stuff like that.

You described me as a butterfly?

- Social butterfly.
-Social butterfly.

But he... pretty much in short words, he's...

a lot like complete opposite of me.

Our mom. She's pretty much the one who got us into singing.

We have been singing ever since we can walk
or actually talk.

We sing at, you know, local bars

or local festivals.

To enter the next round would kind of change our lives because...

we want to share a unique music with...

the whole world.

- Hopefully the whole world.
- That would be awesome.

Paula has chosen "Only Girl in the World" by Rihanna

to see what we can do with this song like that...

We're very nervous,

but excited at the same time.

It's a very good challenge for us.

Just hope everything goes according to plan.

Hello.

The Brewer Boys,
how are you feeling?

We're feeling amazing.

We really want this so bad. I mean, it's all we want right now.

Just being here is just amazing.

- This is a dream come true.
- Absolutely.

Excellent.

Let's hear ya.

- Thank you so much.
- Thank you.

I would say they are good.

They are people who are coming in here with harmonies
as their pre-requisites.

They are good...

It isn't sometimes good enough.

You see her smiling?

She's smiling. Kind of.

I think she likes me.

The Brewer Boys will have to wait to see if...

their version of Rihanna's song impressed Paula.

Meanwhile, miles away, in the Hamptons...

-year-old student, Phillip Lomax, is preparing to perform

his own version of another Rihanna song.

But he has the added pressure of performing it to the woman herself.

I'm about to sing Rihanna to... Rihanna.

You're performing a Rihanna song to Rihanna...

I cannot believe that LA has chosen me a Rihanna song

to sing in front of Rihanna.

It makes me a little bit nervous because I've rearranged
the song completely and...

this is the most important performance in my life.

Phillip first auditioned in his hometown of Seattle.

I'm a crooner. And my biggest worry is that
my style is not exactly what LA Reid is looking for.

Hopefully, I'll show him. My style... is different.

So guys, next up we've got Philip Lomax and
he's gonna be singing "Don't Stop the Music".

I couldn't do that.
If I had to sing your song in front of you.

I mean, I'm singing in front of a superstar
and someone who...

can definitely make my dreams come true.

That gets to you. You get nervous about that.

It's a lot of pressure.

- Hello.
- Hello.

How are you?

Wonderful. How about you?

I'm doing great.

Good.

Thank you.

- Thank you Philip.
- Nice. Nice.

How about that?

Wow.

It's a nuttier version of "Don't Stop the Music".

He was very charming. He had it there and he was very sure
about what he was doing with this record.

You were a bit wobbly before going out there?

I was really nervous.

The one thing that I can do is to do my absolute best

and just leave it all on the stage.

He's attempting to do something that's really original.

I'm not sure it works...

commercially.

Welcome back to The X Factor.

Where the performances continue at the Judges' Homes.

Simon is in France.

LA is with Rihanna in the Hamptons.

And Paula is with Pharrel in Santa Barbara.

In Malibu up next to face Nicole and Enrique Iglesias

is -year-old wedding singer, Elaine Gibbs,
from Los Angeles.

This is why I... love this show.

I sing for birthday parties, weddings,
bar mitzvah, corporate events...

I ended up being a wedding singer.

Being right here, in the Judges' Homes,
it gives you all the confidence

in the world to know that your dream

is almost at the forefront.

- Hi Elaine.
- Hello. I want to say that this is amazing.

An amazing experience.

You can start whenever you want.

Thank you so much Elaine.

Do you think that she's a superstar?

Her confidence can make her a superstar.

I hope the judges got it.

What you do right here, this is it.

They gotta choose today...

Back in France, where Simon has to reduce the
girls category from

to is the next contestant,

-year-old, Caitlin Koch.

And she's no stranger to competition.

I have played rugby for about years.

Yeah, nobody ever expects me to be a rugby player.

I don't know what is it about me.
I mean, I think I'm tough.

Caitlin auditioned in Dallas.

- Easiest yes I have given so far. Well done.
- Oh my God.

The standing ovation made me feel like I was living a dream.

I want this really bad.
I have ays wanted it.

I started singing when I was really young in church.

My dad...

This is a huge life-changing opportunity.

I have come this far. There is no reason for me
not to go further.

I'm extremely nervous, but I have to
give the best that I can.

Hi Simon.

How you doing?

I'm fine, thank you.

Anything you want to say to me before you start singing?

I hope you're ready.

Alright, see you later.

Good job guys.

Well done guys. Thank you.

- Thank you.
- Thank you.

You feel it was enough?

I feel it was enough. I feel it was a strong performance.

I mean, I felt it. I hope he did.

Her pitch, her tone was fantastic.

I love her phrasing. I love the way she brought her song up...

The most exciting was that there was something about her.

Across the Atlantic, in the Hamptons

-year-old, Nick Voss,

from Hialeah, Florida...
is up next to sing for LA and Rihanna.

But at Bootcamp, he jeopardised his chance by forgetting his lyrics.

I have too much, but I don't know words,
but I still keep on singing, yeah...

There was a moment you believed you were going home.

I kind of felt that at that moment I was living a failure...

I really want to show the judges that I can
overcome something like that.

This time around, I need to stay focused.

I have to just be fighting.
I have to keep doing this.

I have been told that this is too hard

that I'll probably never ever have the opportunity to do
what I wanted to do and since I was years old,

dressing up as Elvis Presley in front of the TV,
I knew that I needed to perform,

so I can't do anything else right.

Right now, I don't have a job.

So I've done retail. I've been a waiter.
I've gotten fired.

I don't belong behind a desk.
I don't belong, you know, as a cashier. I live on the stage.

It's where I belong.

My mom and me, we have been through so much.

If this happens for me, it's gonna change things forever.

And I can give my mom her dream house.

And I really, really, really want me make it happen.

Good luck to you.

Thank you Nick.

Alright.

Erm, you've seen him, erm, sing and perform before right?

How was that in comparison to his past?

I've seen him better.

Remember, we have a $ million dollar prize for the winner.

Is he-is he that calibre?
Is he a $ million prize calibre?

I'm really looking forward to hearing what they have to say.

I felt like I've hit my zone again. So...

Definitely a lot better that that round at Bootcamp for me.

You didn't have to bring your lyrics.

Welcome back to The X Factor.

Where Paula Abdul and special guest, Pharrel,
are putting the final groups to the test in Santa Barbara.

Next up are childhood friends.

Who made up the group, Shore.

Shore first impressed the judges at the Seattle auditions.

It's like a list today. We're coming here and we're going
to sing a song that LA Reid wrote himself.

I'm proud.
Boys II Men would be proud.

It was just incredible.

Your harmonies are so spot-on.
You're a blessing.

We shared this dream, like, since we were a kid.

We all started singing together in high school.

It's extremely important to us to get to the live shows

honestly, we worked so hard as group.

Right now, we're chasing a dream

and it's almost like a race to the end

and I feel like the worst thing possible would be
for somebody else to run in front of us

and win the race. It's not an option.

- We can't let that happen.
- Hello, hello, hello.

Hello.

Are you feeling it?

This is like too real.

Whenever you're ready.

Thank you.

Want to keep going. More.

- Thank you.
- Thank you.

Thank you gentlemen.

You guys are holy-down, vocally-like.

How you feeling?

... dirty it up a little bit.

And I think it's the only con. They need to dirty up their style a little
bit, but you know, it's very technical and that's what you need.

You can obviously do say that we gave it out all.
We put it our all out there.

That's all we ask of each other, really just to, all the hard work that
we do, it means nothing if we all just lay it out there.

Over at Malibu, Nicole Scherzinger and special guest Enrique
Iglesias continue with the over s.

And next up is -year-old James Kenney.

Music is my life.

Once I found the passion for it and realised that I could do it,

it's like breathing,

just something I have to do.

I've about... jobs.

Dad. Also a husband.

Those are a kind of job too, don't get paid, but you know.

It's severely intense knowing that somebody can
just say a word and change

the entire outcome of your life.

It's scary.

Knowing that, in seconds, I can way back in an apron,

back dealing with people's problems in my building.

This is not just about changing my life.

This is about providing the type of life that my children and...

and my wife deserve.

That's why I'm here.

- Hello there.
- Hi James.

How are you?

Good. How are you?

- Very good. Thank you.
- You can start whenever you want.

Thank you.

Thank you James.

Thank you for the opportunity.

It kind of seems like a Maroon type of environment.
I totally see this guy feeling as a rock star.

Without a band, do you feel?

Is he a solo artiste?

I hope so, man. I was emotionally connected

on every level.

I did the best that I could.

Welcome back to The X Factor.

Where we're back in France with Simon Cowell and the girls.

Up next is -year-old student,
Drew Ryniewicz from

Chino Valley, Arizona.

Drew is a big Justin Bieber fan

and sang one of his songs at the Seattle audition.

How old are you, Drew?

.

.

This is exactly what I look forward for you all
to do in this competition,

exactly what you get.

I love France and

I'm excited that this is the place that was chosen
for the girls to get to go.

It's cool. 'Cause I'm from a small town, so this is like big...

I'm excited that I made the final girls.

This is so important to me,

I want it so bad.

I've been praying my butt off. If I don't
make it through, it's gonna suck to have to leave.

You ready?

Definitely.

Ok, good.

Thank you.

How are you doing?

Amazing.

Amazing.

- .
- years old.

To find that special tone in her voice.

Tomorrow night...

the remaining acts sing for their survival.

And the judges decide who's worthy of a place
in the live finals.

This is going to change their lives.

He's going home.

Who's the star?

As must come...

.

I made my decision.

I walk back and forth all night.

I'm really genuinely sorry.
