thing.

The remaining contestants gave it
their all,

as they sang for a place in the live
finals.

There's a point you change their
lives. Somebody has to go home.

This is the hardest decision I've
ever had to make.

As The X Factor final are
revealed.

I went back and forth all night.

Welcome to The X Factor and the final
instalment of Judges' Houses,

where tonight the final acts will
be revealed.

Previously, the remaining acts

Over s and Groups.

And they made their way across the
globe to one of the judge's homes,

where they met the judge who will
mentor them for the rest of the season.

The Girls flew to France to meet
their mentor, Simon Cowell.

(SCREAMING)

And they sang their heart out for a
place in the final .

The Over s travelled to Malibu

and sang for their mentor, Nicole
Scherzinger,

and special guest, Enrique Iglesias.

(APPLAUSE)
Hey, guys.

♪ And I'm terrified ♪

Up the California coast,

the Groups travelled to Santa
Barbara...

Whoo!

With mentor Paula Abdul and guest
judge, Pharrell.

(SCREAMING)

♪ Only girl in the world ♪

And the last eight boys travelled to
the Hamptons

to sing for their mentor, LA Reid,
and special guest Rihanna.

Thank you, Chris.

Then each mentor had to decide which
acts should make it to the live shows.

Do you see a place for her in the
final four?

This is gonna be our challenge.
The guys that we put through

had better measure up.
There's four that go through?

Only the best four.

The best one here. There's some
serious talent in that group.

I'm going with this one.

I think that's it. I've made my
decision.

This is the one everyone thought was
gonna get a yes. And we've said no.

I didn't do that.

And with only half the acts
guaranteed a place,

it's time to find out who stays and
who goes.

It's the next day.

In France, the eight remaining girls
are waiting to find out

which four of them are going through.

Their mentor, Simon, has slept on his
decision.

I had a little bit of a wobble last
night.

But I woke up really clear-headed
today.

My problem is, I like all these
girls. I genuinely like them.

So, with eight girls and only four
places, it's the moment of truth.

The first two girls to be told
whether they are going through

are -year-old mechanic Tora
Woloshin

and -year-old student Simone
Battle.

There's nothing else I'd rather do

than to be a diamond-selling
pop star.

♪ When I grow up, I wanna be a star,
I wanna be in movies ♪

I think you'd be fun to watch as a
performer.

I really, really like you.

This is the biggest opportunity to
make my dreams come true.

There's definitely been a lot of ups
and downs.

the very first time,

the normal life

and a normal person who does a
normal job.

In Malibu, Nicole is preparing to
tell the eight Over s

which four are through to the live
shows.

This has, without a doubt,

been one of the toughest decisions
I've had to make.

I feel like, not only do I
have the responsibility

of these people, but
their families.

I've been weighing the pros and
cons.

They're All-Stars in my eyes.

There's only four people that I can
take through.

First to hear Nicole's decision

is -year-old burrito maker, Josh
Krajcik.

Each stage of this competition,
there's been a moment

where it was probably the biggest
moment in my life.

The first audition was
a validation for me.

It was a high point in my life.

You started singing and it just blew
me away.

You just have to believe, and I
always have.

The song I sang yesterday could, and
I hope will, change my life forever.

Getting through to the next round
would change my life.

You worry about being
able to make rent,

being able to have food
in the refrigerator.

How can I pay for my daughter's
colleging?

Winning this competition is my
ticket to the life that I want.

one way or the other.

I just gotta hope for the yes.

What's so great about you, Josh,

when you came in, you were so
unassuming

and like the guy next door.

But you came in with this great big
voice

and so much soul.

The only thing I thought...

necessarily a superstar.

So, with that said, I've weighed
everything up and made my decision.

I started out in the LA auditions.

It was , people waiting to get
that sh*t.

That is immense to me

that I am sitting here right now

after that whole process.

I was the first child solo artist
sent to Disney Records.

It was a rollercoaster ride at
times.

Emotionally, you're up, you're down.

I did stop singing for a long time.

But it definitely feels right now
like I've connected to...

that place.

When I was and everything...

ended,

this is nice that I get a chance at
the life I was supposed to have.

There's not many people that get to
have that opportunity.

The only way I can describe how I
felt about my performance yesterday,

I basically had two minutes to
change my life.

I was just a pure ball of raging
emotion.

It was insane. My tiptoes were
shaking to the end of my fingers.

That's why I work five jobs, gotta
provide for my family.

I have to take care of my wife and
kids, period.

What my life consists of is, the
phone rings at seven o'clock,

then I go put an apron on and I work
till one or two in the morning.

Then I do that again the next day.

Not something you wanna do. But you
know...

I guess that's why they call them
jobs.

Jobs, then there's dreams.

I definitely would rather live the
dream.

I wanna show my children that you
can do whatever you want.

If I succeed, they get to see...

their dad live his dream.

How awesome is that?

This is the most important day of my
life.

This competition just lit another
spark in me.

♪ But it would be nothin'

♪ Without a woman or a girl ♪

I'm gonna have to say yes.

(CHEERING)

My performance yesterday, I fumbled
on a few things.

♪ I need you crazy right now

♪ You make me so crazy right now ♪

I stunk up the room.

This ain't right, man.

I know. I know.
(SOBS)

There's times I wanted to quit.

But I didn't.

If I would have, I wouldn't be here
today.

As we speak, I am homeless.

I don't have no money. I don't have
nothing but a car and a jacket.

I don't think no-one in this
competition...

may want it as much as I want it.

But they don't need it as much as I
need it.

And now it's time for Dexter, James
and Christa

to discover their fate.

You, as an artist, are unique.

But...

there's still room for growth.

The way that you're able to be
vulnerable like you are,

on stage,

starters just don't have that gift.

But my problem is, I don't know if
you are the solo artist

that I'm looking for

for The X Factor.

You have this energy

and this light about you.

You have a good voice.

You have a good voice, Dexter.

I'm so happy.

I'm trying to hold it together.

With you, it's like you're hit or
miss. I don't know why that is.

I've weighed everything up and I've
made my decision.

This has been such an amazing
journey and experience for me.

I know that this is not the end.

There's only so many people I can

I got halfway up the mountain, but
didn't get to the top.

I wanted it real bad. But it's been
a hell of a ride, that's for sure.

My heart says one thing and my head
says another thing.

But I have a big, big heart and I
decided to go with my heart.

In Santa Barbara, the eight remaining
groups

are waiting for their mentor Paula's
decision

on which four of them will make it
to the live shows.

The first three groups to hear their
fate

are Squar'd, the Brewer Boys,

and Illusion Confusion.

We're living this dream and we keep
making it further and further.

Illusion Confusion.
It's a real possibility

that it could end here.

That's just horrifying. That's a
nightmare.

We've put so much on the line.

We quit our jobs.

Our bank accounts are zero.

For us, really, there's no turning
back.

There's nothing left but this
for us.

We're definitely a lot closer than
we were before.

I think it's straightened us up as
brothers.

Music is what we are.

Music is what we were born to do.

We just wanna fulfil our passion for
music to its fullest

and let the whole world hear our
music.

I'm so proud that you made it
through

to come to my home here.

Your vocals were beautiful.

To be perfectly honest here...

you lacked it in your showmanship.

Your tenor vocals and harmonies

were spot-on.

Sometimes you're gonna be asked to sing
songs that don't feel right to you.

But it's your responsibility as
performers to make it work.

There are a lot of people that
connect with your sound.

And there are people that don't.

But I had to make the decision.

And my decision is...

I'm really sorry, I can't take you
forward.

I'll be honest with you, I'm mad as
hell.

I'm very upset.

I'm sorry to say you will not be
moving forward to the live shows.

This has been a real
tough decision for me,

I'm gonna be perfectly

a part of the live shows.

Music's what brought us together.

Our friendship was built off our
love for the same music.

Just looking back, we were like
"Wow! Look how far we've come."

We didn't even recognise ourselves.

We're a summer group. Cos we go to
school in different locations,

so it's very difficult for us to
meet.

This year, we decided, "Let's not do
this any more."

Because now we need to start
focusing on being adults."

We felt like we were settling. But
then we heard about the auditions.

We decided, "Why not give it one
more try"

and, if it doesn't work out, we'll
end the group."

If you strip the dream of having a
potential music career,

none of us will function.

Thank you for being patient and
waiting.

I'm sure it's been a nerve-wracking
experience.

Let me tell you that I'm in awe of
your vocal ability.

You are technically...

the most beautiful sounding.

There are cons, though, as well.

Who was the lead?

There has to be someone who leads.

are waiting to hear who LA Reid will
take to the live shows.

We spent a lot of time up last night

going over the auditions

and factoring in some of the
comments that Rihanna said.

And now it's decision time.

First up to face him is the youngest
boy left in the competition,

At my first audition, I didn't know
if I was the only MC or not,

so I felt really special.

I didn't know how the judges would
take that.

I'm the luckiest guy in the world

If LA picks me to go through to the
live shows,

that would mean a lot.

It would change my life in a lot of
ways.

I probably wouldn't be able to walk

Of course I want fame and fortune.

I wanna be able to buy my mother a
great gift for Mother's Day,

support my family and those who I
love.

How do you feel?

Good. Nervous.

So, the very first time I saw you,

it was really impressive.

I think you were the standout of the

The thing I'm struggling with is

you can maintain the right kind of

to go forward and win.

I'm preparing myself for the best

I live in a really small town.

I'm known as the black guy that
sings country, I guess.

wanna live that life story.

I've wanted to be a star since I was
five years old.

There have been those moments of

But I struggled with

your own identity
as an artist yet.

I thought your performance yesterday
was really good.

But to be so specific about it being
country,

I find that limits you.

I really believe that you're a star.

But at the same time, I felt sort of
a turbulent ride.

There were moments of real
brilliance in your voice.

discover her fate is Jazzlyn Little.

Right from the beginning, the nerves
and lack of confidence

has been my biggest obstacle.

Hello! How are you?

Extremely nervous.
Why?

Everybody's looking at me right now.

(LAUGHTER)

Knowing that my life can go in two
different directions at this point

is terrifying.

But even through that all, I still
want it.

Since my first audition,

my confidence has most definitely
gotten better.

It would mean the world to me

That'll just give me the boost to
just push forward

What I loved about you when I first

there was some grit.

Then it all got a bit polished off

over the time we got to know you.

We don't know if our house is gonna

I experienced my darkest hour a few

when I was barely hanging on.

I looked at this opportunity as a
second chance

to become the artist I always wanted
to be.

As this competition gets further and

It gives me more
confidence in who I'm

becoming and what I can
do, what I'm capable of.

Together, it's like a super healing
thing.

My family are proud that I'm clean

I feel it in my gut.

I've made a mistake with someone,
