(soft classical music)

(giggling)

(audience clapping)

(female audience member gasps)

(tense music)

(leaves rustling)

(soft classical music continues)

- (grunts) Got it! (laughs)

Your turn, Alice. (grunts)

- (grunts) Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh no!

(door squeaks)

- (slams door) Oh! Mind my

shed, you little horrors!

How many times do

I have to tell you?

I do not want balls

coming into my garden.

- Sorry, Mrs. Hodgepodge.

- Can ... Can we please have

our ball back, Mrs. Hodgepodge?

- No, you most

certainly can not!

Not until you start respecting

other people's property.

- Oh, honestly!

- Oh!

- Grumpy old thing!

(soft piano music)

- Bye, Angelina!

- Oh! Uh-uh-uh Bye, mom.

(Angelina's mum laughs)

(birds chirping)

- Oh, Angelina!

- Oh! Is that the new

Monty, the Mouse Detective?

- Yes. The case of

the missing cheese.

Oh, Monty's the smartest

mouse detective ever!

- Oh! What's happening?

- Monty is just about to open

the cheese cupboard door.

- (gasps) What happens next?

- He walks slowly

towards the door.

He reaches out to

turn the handle.

The door swings open.

The cheese is gone!

He says...

- Hey, what's going

on over there?

- No, Alice. That's

not what Monty says.

- No. Look.

- Well, inspector, he was

wearing a little green jacket,

a little red pointy hat,

and his arm was

completely broken off.

- Who could she

be talking about?

- So, we appear to have

a garden gnome thief

in our midst.

- A garden gnome thief?

- A garden gnome thief?

- But don't you

worry, Miss Lilly.

We'll find the thief,

and that gnome

will be back in your

garden in no time at all.

- Oh, I really hope not.

He was a hideous creature.

- So, why did you have him

in your garden, Miss Lilly?

- Because great uncle

Moushnick gave him to me.

He also gave me that bird bath.

- (laughs) Oh dear! Maybe the

thief will come back for that.

- Oh, we can only

hope. (chuckles)

- Well, that's the

third garden gnome

that's been stolen this week.

But I really don't think

there's much I can do.

- Oh, poor Miss Lilly!

She must be so upset.

- If only Monty, the

mouse detective, was here!

He'd find the thief.

- Well, Monty, the mouse

detective might not be,

but Angelina, the

mouse detective is!

- Wow!

- Oh!

(soft music plays)

- (exhales) Oh, she's gone.

- (gasps)

- (gasps)

- (screams) Uh-oh, ow!

- Ow!

- Henry!

Oh!

Right then!

Let's investigate.

- So, what do we do first?

- Um.

Uh-

Uh- Oh!

We dust for paw prints.

- (gasps) I'll get

out the talcum powder.

- (chuckles)

- [Angelina] Now,

where might there

be some paw prints?

[Alice] On the gate?

- Elementary, my dear Alice!

We have to make sure

that no one so much as

touches that gate.

- (gasps)

(Hits the ground)

- Um, I don't think

we'll be needing

the talcum powder after all.

- Oh, Henry!

- (licks lollipop) So,

what would Monty do

if all the paw prints

had been wiped off?

- He would look for clues.

But you need a specially

trained eye to find clues.

It's something only

the most experienced

investigators can do.

- Look what I found, Angelina.

- (gasps) Henry!

You're a genius!

This is exactly what a

gnome thief would use.

All we have to do is find

who it belongs to and ...

- Oh! My gardening glove!

Thank you, my darlings.

I've been looking

for it everywhere.

- Oops! Alice, being a

detective is not an easy job.

So, what have we got?

- Well, there are no paw prints

and no clues.

- Mm, not very much then.

- Oh! Oh, oh!

Well, I think that's

because the gnomes

are coming to life.

- (laughs) that's silly, Henry.

- (gasps) I know! Suspects.

That's what Monty would do.

He'd find suspects.

- What's a suspect?

- Someone who acts suspiciously.

- Oh!

Like that, Henry.

(birds chirping)

- Yes, but they'd have to say

something suspicious as well.

- Ugh! Nasty red cap things!

Spoil everybody's

gardens they do!

- Garden gnomes wear little

red caps, don't they?

- Yes, they do.

- (screaming)

- (screaming) Captain Miller!

He's got gnomes in his bag!

He's our suspect!

Quick, follow him!

(tense piano music)

- (gasps)

- (gasps)

Quick! Hide!

- Oh!

- Ow!

- [Angelina] It's Mrs. Pinkpaws.

- I've only found a couple.

Not everyone has them

in their gardens.

- Well, let's take

them to the bonfire.

- They're working together!

Captain Miller

and Mrs. Pinkpaws!

I can't believe it!

- (mumbles)

- Absolutely! Come on. Let's go.

(tense piano music)

- Sh! Sh!

- Shush!

- (gasps) They're going

to Mrs. Chalk's house.

- Ah! You've got

them. Well done!

I've started the bonfire.

- They're all in on it!

- (gasps) What would Monty do?

- He would confront them!

- [Alice] Oh!

- [Angelina] You thought you

could get away with it, eh?

- Eh?

- Oh! Angelina.

- You know, it's really

not very nice to go around

taking people's ...

toadstools?

I bet Monty never

had to solve the case

of the stinky old

poisonous toadstools!

- Well, those three did

look very suspicious.

- Oh, Alice. You're such a ...

- I told you, the gnomes

must've come to life

and walked off!

(Alice's stomach growls)

- Oh! Uh-

tea time.

Oh, come on, Henry.

I promised I'd get you

home in time for tea.

- But what about the thief?

- Uh- Oh! Sorry, Angelina.

We'll try again tomorrow.

- [Henry] Uh- uh- oh. See you!

(soft piano music)

- Oh.

Wait a minute!

Oh, no!

The garden gnome thief's in

Mrs. Hodgepodge's garden shed!

(gate squeaks)

So, what would Monte do now?

(gate squeaks)

I know.

He'd walk slowly

towards the door.

He would reach out

to turn the handle

and he would catch the

thief red handed. (screams)

- (Screams).

(garden gnome breaks)

- Angelina.

- Mrs. Hodgepodge?

- Um, I think you

better come in.

(lamp squeaks)

- Oh, so the garden

gnome thief was you!

- Me! A thief? Angelina, I

wasn't stealing the gnomes.

I was just smartening them up.

I wouldn't have

to if people would

take care of them properly.

Look, they're an

absolute disgrace!

- Oh! That's so nice of

you, Mrs. Hodgepodge!

I can't wait to tell everybody.

- Don't you dare!

I can't have people thinking

I'm a nice old lady!

They'll be coming around

for tea at all hours.

(Henry humming)

- Now, Henry, don't throw

it till we get past.

(leaves rustling)

(birds chirping)

- (laughs)

(bright piano music)

(chuckles)

- Oh!

(panting)

- How far have you got?

- Shush! I'm on the last page.

- Oh, read us what happens next.

- Monty knows that

whoever stole the cheese

will return to the

scene of the crime.

Standing there holding a large

packet of cheese biscuits,

is the thief!

Monte said ...

- Hey, what's going

on over there?

- No, Alice ... uh-

Oh!

- This is the strangest

thing I've ever seen.

What thief returns

stolen property?

- [Mrs. Thimble] (laughs)

Well, at least he's got

both his arms now, Miss Lilly.

- I think I preferred him

the way he was before.

(laughs)

- (laughs)

- Although, I have

to say, next to him,

the bird birth looks

positively tasteful. (chuckles)

- All the other gnomes

are back. And all mended

and smartened up.

- Hmm, the only explanation

I can come up with

is that they've all come

to life and gone off

and got some new

clothes. (laughs)

- I told you the gnomes

were coming to life!

- (chuckles) I guess you

were right on along, Henry.

(chuckles)

- Well, that's that case closed.

(Henry laughs)

- But what about the case

of the missing cheese?

- [Angelina] (gasps) Oh,

yes! Well, where was I?

- It was ... um, Mr.

Churn, the cheese maker.

- But, he was so nice.

(Henry chuckles)

- Oh, Henry!

- Sorry, Mrs. Hodgepodge.

Oh, thank you.

- You young mouselings!

- Well Alice, people aren't

always what they seem.

(Both Angelina and Mrs.

Hodgepodge chuckle)

(soft classical music)

(birds chirping)

- And Penelope, this is yours.

- Oh! Thank you, Miss Lilly.

- Oh! Thank you, Miss Lilly.

Aren't they wonderful!

- Gorgeous!

- Where's your

costume, Angelina?

- I haven't been given it yet.

- Oh, dear! And thee

aren't any tutus left.

- I do hope Miss Lilly

hasn't forgotten you.

(both chuckle)

- William, darling!

- Oh.

- [Miss Lilly] Come here.

The perfect Knight

in shining armor.

- Oh. Thanks, Miss Lilly.

- And now,

Angelina darling!

- [Angelina] Uh- Yes, Miss Lily.

- I wore this when I

played the Sleeping Beauty.

Michael (indistinct)

was my handsome Prince.

Oh,

I can still remember every step.

- (gasps) You mean

this was your tutu?

- Yes, my dear. You may

borrow it for the performance.

- Oh, Miss Lilly!

- Huh! Oh!

- Oh!

- Now, look after it

carefully, darling.

It is full of memories.

- Oh, I will Miss

Lilly. I promise.

(piano music plays)

- (humming)

- Angelina! It's way

past your bedtime.

- Oh. Sorry, mum.

- Now, bed.

- (laughs) You can't

wear your tutu in bed.

- But I'm sleeping Beauty.

- You're definitely beautiful,

but I can't see much sleeping.

- [Angelina] Oh!

- Oh dear!

Oh, this seam is

starting to split.

- Oh no. Can you

fix it mum? Please!

- Not now, darling.

It's too late.

- But the dress

rehearsal is tomorrow.

- I'll do it first thing

in the morning, Angelina.

- Thanks, mom.

(phone ringing)

- Hello? It's my sister!

- Huh? (yawns)

- [Mrs. Mouseling] What?

That's wonderful news, Amanda!

Yes! Yes, of course we'll

be there straight away!

Thank you so much.

We'll be back to

collect Angelina

as soon as my

sister's baby is born.

- Don't rush. We're

delighted to have our

favorite granddaughter to stay.

- Yes. We're going to

have a lovely time.

Aren't we, Angelina?

- Oh, yes.

- Now be a good girl, dear.

I'm sure she'll go

straight to sleep.

- Bye!

(soft classical music)

Then, the wicked fairies;

that's Priscilla and Penelope,

give me the spinning wheel.

I've never seen one before,

so I go up to it and ... Ouch!

- Ah! What? What's the matter?

- I'm acting, Grandma.

- [Grandma] Oh.

- I've pricked my

finger on the needle.

So, I collapse on

the ground. (gasps)

But I'm not really

dead, just fast asleep.

- Which is what we

should be. (yawns)

Come along, Angelina. We

really must get back to bed.

- But I don't feel

tired anymore.

- Uh! But we do.

And it's a big day tomorrow.

- Yes! It's the dress rehearsal.

- And we're having a birthday

party for our friend,

Mrs. Twinkle. Oh, I'm so

glad you're here, Angelina.

I could do with an

extra pair of paws.

- Oh, I'd love to help!

(dress rips)

What was that?

Oh, no!

What am I going to do?

- Ooh, don't worry, Angelina.

I'll say sew it up tomorrow.

I promise.

(piano music plays)

- I found your sewing

basket, Grandma.

- Hmm?

Oh, I can't do it now, dear.

- But I need it

for this afternoon!

- I'll do it as

soon as we've got

everything ready for the party.

- But ... Well, I'll help.

What do you want me to do?

- Well, um- there's the

birthday cake to collect,

the table needs laying.

- [Grandpa] I'll go

and get the cake.

- And, I'll lay the table.

- Oh! And I've got to

make the cheese sauce.

(Humming)

- The table's laid.

- Oh, well done, Angelina.

Can you stir this

cheese sauce, please.

I want to cut some flowers.

- Then will you be

able to fix my tutu?

- (chuckles) We'll see.

Don't forget to keep

stirring, or it'll go lumpy.

(piano music plays)

(birds chirping)

(thunder rumbles)

Oh! Oh! Oh, no!

Oh, I don't believe it.

(Angelina humming)

(soft classical music playing)

- Angelina! What are you doing?

- Oh!

- Oh, look! This sauce

has got all lumpy.

(gasps) I'm going to

have to make some more.

- Sorry.

- And we're going to have

to move everything inside.

It's going to rain.

- Don't worry,

Grandma. I'll do it.

- Oh, thank you dear.

Just make sure

everything's off the table.

(piano music continues)

- Eh- Huh?

Oh. I thought Angelina

was laying the table.

- I've put my tutu next

to your sewing box.

- Angelina.

- So, we are eating in here

now, are we? (chuckles)

Oh! The baker made a fabulous

job of the birthday cake.

You'll be thrilled.

- Oh. Ooh! The flowers!

Oh! Get them for me,

will you, Angelina!

- Then will you do my tutu?

(someone knocks on the door)

- Ooh! They're here!

And they're early!

(tense music plays)

- Happy birthday, Mrs. Twinkle.

- Oh, yes! Yes. Of course.

Do sit down.

- Oh, thank you.

- Excuse me!

(flower vase breaks)

Oh, sorry!

- Angelina, take your

tutu to your room!

- But you haven't fixed it yet.

- I can't do it now, can I?

- Ugh!

- I'll get a mop.

- And I'll make us

all a nice cup of tea.

(thunder and lightning rumble)

- (gasps) Oh, no!

(rain water dripping)

- (gasps)Oh, thank

you! It's lovely.

- And we've another

surprise for you.

- Grandma, something

terrible has happened.

- Oh!

The cake!

It's ruined.

How could you have left

it out in the rain?

- But I didn't.

- I told you to bring

everything inside!

- But I did!

- But you obviously didn't!

- Hm-mm.

- You were too busy

worrying about your tutu!

Oh, I'm so sorry Mrs. Twinkle.

- But it wasn't

my fault, Grandma.

- That's enough,

Angelina. Go to your room.

- But what about the rehearsal?

- We'll see about that later.

- Ooh! Ugh!

Ugh!

- Um- well, would

anybody like a peanut?

- Oh! Oh, no. Thank you.

(Angelina sobbing)

(thunder rumbling)

(Angelina sniffing and sobbing)

- Oh! What happened to the cake?

- Angelina left it

out in the rain.

- Oh! No, dear.

It was me.

I'm so sorry.

- It was you?

- Yes.

- Oh, no! I thought

it was Angelina.

I was furious with her.

Ooh! I must go and talk to her.

- Well ... (chuckles) It's

turning out to be quite a stormy

afternoon.

- [Grandma] (gasps) Oh, no!

- Excuse me. I'll

be just a moment.

Coming, dear.

Hm-mm.

- She's gone.

- It's all right, dear. I

expect she's just gone to the

dress rehearsal.

- Oh! she'll be wet

through, poor thing! Ooh!

- Come on. We'll go and find her

(tense music)

- The soup's on the stove.

Just help yourself

to anything you like.

- Absolutely. Bye!

- Good bye!

- Oh!

(sad piano music)

(thunder rumbling)

- It's so unfair!

I helped Grandma all morning

so she'd have time to sew it.

She promised she would!

Then I go into the pouring

rain to rescue her cake

and she says it's my fault.

It's just not fair.

(Angelina sobs)

- I'm sure it's all a big

misunderstanding, darling.

There.

Now, don't you think we should

give your grandparents a call

and let them know you're safe?

(Angelina sniffs)

- I suppose so.

(soft piano music playing)

- Oh!

- Oh!

(doors squeaks open)

- Oh, no. Sh! Sh! Sh!

(Miss Lilly, Grandma

and Grandpa cheering)

- Oh, Grandma!

- I'm so sorry, Angelina.

- Me too.

(Grandpa chuckles)

(Birds chirping)

- And then, the handsome

prince takes me by the paw ...

by the paw, Grandpa.

- Eh?

Oh, sorry.

- And we dance

the wedding dance.

(Grandpa and Grandma laugh)

- Well, what do you think?

- Oh, Grandma!

It's as good as new!

(phone rings)

- Hello? Oh, of course.

Um- it's for you, Angelina.

- Oh hello, mum.

Oh!

It's a boy?

Auntie Amanda's had a boy!

- Oh! (laughs)

- [Grandpa] Oh! (laughs)

- Oh, do I have to? Can't

I stay a few more days?

Oh mum, please!

It's just that we're

having such a lovely time.

Grandma's been lovely.

She's mended my tutu and

Grandpa makes such

a handsome Prince!

(both Grandpa and

Angelina chuckle)

(bright classical music)

(soft piano music)

- [Angelina] Oh! our little

stars are making lots

of different costumes this week!

And some props too.

A prop is something you use

to help you dance in character.

That looks like a

tambourine that Toby's made

from a paper plate.

I wonder what it's for.

And Charlotte is dressing up.

(folk music begins)

Oh, they're doing a folk dance

like the one Anya taught me.

That's why the girls are

wearing those white sashes!

And the boys have tambourines

just like they do in Dakovia!

(folk music playing)

(tambourines jingling)

(folk music playing)

(tambourines jingling)

(soft piano music begins)

Hmm. That looks interesting.

Paloma is tracing

a shape onto paper.

And now, she's stuck

silver foil onto it!

It's a star!

Our little stars are pretending

to be twinkling stars.

Scarlet's wearing a silver tutu.

Oh, I See! She's a star too!

(soft harp music)

Now they're making Butterflies.

(soft piano music plays)

Henry would love one of those!

(soft piano music continues)

That floaty material makes

those wings look almost real.

Something long.

A tail?

And that makeup

looks like whiskers!

They're being cats!

(violin plays)

What's Caitlyn making?

Hmm, reminds me of a bird.

(gasps) I see! It's a swan mask!

(ballroom music begins)

Scarlet and Caitlyn

look so graceful

in their masks and

they're so easy to make.

It's just a paper plate

and paper feathers.

(ballroom music continues)

Those were all

wonderful costumes.

I'm going to ask

mum if she'll help

me and Henry make some.

(classical music plays)
