(cheerful, carefree music)

(mice giggle)

(cheerful, carefree music)

(audience applauding)

(cheerful, carefree music)

(Angelina humming)

(mama giggling)

- There, I've made

Valentine cards

for all my favorite people,

Alice, Henry, Mom, Dad, and

this one is for Miss Lily.

Roses are red, violets are blue,

to you, dear Miss Lily, my

heart will be true. (giggles)

(Angelina humming)

(mom giggles)

(slurping) Hm, have

I forgotten anyone?

Um, nope, nope,

that's everybody.

(gentle, cheerful music)

- Um, uh, oh.

(William humming)

(muttering)

- Oh, oh crumbs.

(Alice giggles)

- Hey William!

(William startles)

- Oh!

- What do you think of these?

- Oh, um,

they're very nice, Alice.

- But which do you think

Henry will like the best?

- Well uh--

- This one with the red

icing or this purple one?

- Um, (gulps) I

think he likes red.

- Uh, William, what

are you hiding?

- Oh um, (laughs) nothing.

Oh!

(playful music)

(Alice giggles)

Oh.

- [Alice] Who's that

pretty Valentine for?

- Uh, oh,

it's um, well uh.

Roses are red,

violets are blue,

sugar is sweet,

Angelina is too.

Oh, I hope she likes it.

(Sammy laughing)

(William startles)

Sammy, oh.

- Well if it isn't the

Romeo of Mouseland. (laughs)

- Uh, what are you doing here?

- What does it look like?

I'm practicing my

double Twizzler Flick

for the yo yo

competition. (laughs)

Ow, oh, uh. (grumbles)

(Sammy sighs)

Well, are you gonna

stand there holding that

or go and give it to Angelina?

- Oh, give it to her?

I could never do

that, she'd see me.

- (chuckles) William,

you're balmy.

- Ah well, I uh,

(Sammy chuckles)

you see,

oh.

(Sammy laughing)

(quiet giggling)

- Hm?

Eh.

(Angelina humming)

- Ah. (humming)

- Wow, now that's

what I call a yo yo!

Oh. (sighs)

I wonder.

Hm.

Ha. (laughs)

(gentle, cheerful music)

- Uh, uh--

- Uh uh, I was

thinking, William,

I might just be able to help

you out with that Valentine.

- Oh would you?

(gentle, cheerful music)

(Angelina muttering quietly)

- Oh!

- Can I try it?

- Oh, go away, Sammy.

Can't you see I'm practicing?

- Oh, too bad, you

won't want this then.

- What?

- Huh, oh nothing.

- Oh Sammy, show me.

- It's a Valentine.

- A Valentine, for me?

- (laughs) Why not?

Friends do nice

things for each other.

Don't they?

- What did she say?

Did she like it?

Did she get it was from me?

- (chuckles) Yes, she liked it.

- But you don't sound sure.

- Well, I think

she was expecting

more than just a Valentine.

- More than a Valentine?

But, what?

- (sighs) William, my friend,

it's your lucky day, just

leave it all to me. (laughs)

- But it's so strange, Alice.

Sammy's never given

me anything before.

I mean, normally he just teases

me and gets me into trouble.

It just doesn't make any sense.

- Well maybe he just likes you.

- (giggles) Sammy?

Alice, sometimes you

have the strangest ideas.

(gentle, cheerful music)

(Mrs. Thimble humming)

(William muttering)

- I've only got

enough for one rose.

- Well if that's

all you can afford.

- Oh, but won't Angelina be

expecting more than just one?

- Why don't I find you

a nice bit of greenery

to go with it, William?

- (gasps) Oh yes

please, Mrs. Thimble.

(Henry grunting)

- Hm, which one would

Alice like best,

the one with the blue icing

or the one with the green?

- There you are, young William,

and don't forget to

sign the gift tag.

- Oh thank you Mrs. Thimble.

(William humming)

(Henry muttering)

(William humming)

- William!

(William startles)

- Oh!

- Which of these

would Alice like best?

- Uh, it's--

- The one with the blue icing,

- Uh--

- Or the one with the green?

- Um--

- Oh, (giggles)

is that for your sweetheart?

- Um--

- Oh.

- Hurry up, William!

(cheerful music)

(birds chirping)

- [William] Go on,

Sammy, she's over there.

- Right then, leave

it all to me. (laughs)

- Oh, I hope she likes it, oh.

(Henry chewing)

- Oh. (chewing)

Hello William.

- Shh.

- Why are you hiding?

- Oh.

- A rose for a rose.

- Oh, for me?

Oh Sammy, thank

you, it's beautiful.

- (laughs) (sighs) I suppose

I'll just have to watch

the yo yo competition now.

- (sniffing) What?

- Oh my yo yo's broken and it's

too late to get another one.

But that's okay.

It doesn't matter.

I've only been practicing every

day for the last six months.

(Sammy sighs theatrically)

- Sammy!

- Huh?

- Here, you can borrow my yo yo.

- (laughs) Yay!

(slow, dramatic music)

- Angelina, how could you?

You've been

practicing for weeks.

- I know Alice, but friends

do nice things for each other.

Oh, isn't it beautiful?

- Doesn't William

draw good hearts?

- You mean Sammy, Henry?

My bouquet's from Sammy.

- But I saw William

writing that gift tag

in Mrs. Thimble's shop.

I made him jump and

he dropped the pen

and spilled pink ink

all over the card, see?

- Hm.

- Hm, that's funny,

I saw William buying

a Valentine card

with a big purple bow on it

in Mrs. Thimble's

shop this morning.

- And Sammy's Valentine card

had a big purple bow on it.

Alice, I think I smell a rat.

(Sammy laughing)

- Whoa. (laughing)

Yeah. (laughing)

- Sammy.

- Shh,

don't bother me now, William.

- But Sammy, Angelina

hasn't said anything.

- Well I can't help that, can I?

(Sammy laughing)

- Wow!

- Oh wow!

(William sighs sadly)

(Sammy performing)

- Yeah.

- Um, Sammy, I was

just telling Alice

what a sweet verse you wrote

inside my Valentine card.

- Uh--

- Huh?

He wrote?

- (muttering) Verse?

- Yes, I left your

Valentine at home

and I can't remember

exactly what you wrote,

but I'm sure you do, Sammy.

- Um.

- His Valentine!

Roses are red, violets are blue,

sugar is sweet, Angelina is too.

(mice giggling)

- Thank you, Sammy,

I'll be needing that for

the yo yo competition.

- But but but, but uh.

Oh um, I--

(mice muttering)

But, oh.

- I got this for you, Henry.

- And I bought this

for you, Alice.

- Thanks.

- Thanks.

- But--

- But,

- [Together] There's

nothing in here. (giggling)

- Well it was very yummy, Henry.

- (giggles) Yours

was too, Alice.

- We could keep the boxes.

(Henry giggles)

- (sniffs) Mm, mine still

smells of chocolate. (giggles)

(bell rings)

(birds chirping)

- Oh, hello?

(door squeaks)

uh, oh, uh,

oh, uh.

Uh.

(paper rustles)

Eh.

Edam is red, Stilton is blue,

cheesecake is sweet,

but not as sweet as you.

But, who?

Oh.

I wonder.

Oh. (giggles)

(Angelina giggling)

(cheerful, carefree music)

- I'll be leaving

on Saturday morning

and depending on a

good steady wind,

I should be over the

Caffily Hills by about noon,

traveling in a

southerly direction,

across the Colby Mountains,

heading directly towards

the Stilton Moors.

- You'll be able to see

for miles from up there.

- So long as the weather

holds up, Dr. Tuttle.

- You're so lucky.

I wish I could go in

a hot-air balloon.

(knocking at the door)

- [Together] Oh.

- I wonder who that could be?

(mom humming)

Oh!

- Darling.

- Miss Lily!

- I have the most

wonderful news.

Of course it will mean staying

over next Saturday night

with Queen Sarafina and the

lovely Princess Valentine,

whom I haven't seen in ages.

- Oh.

- And just a very simple

train ride to the palace,

but I assure you, there won't

be a thing to worry about.

- It all sounds wonderful,

Miss Lily, but um, uh--

- What exactly are

you talking about?

- Darling, Angelina has been

chosen to dance at the palace--

- Oh!

- Of course.

- Oh yes, Your Majesty, it

was a pleasure for me too.

Thank you for having

me, Your Highness.

Oh yes, I will come again.

- Angelina, you're supposed

to be getting ready.

- Oh mom!

It's the most beautiful

dress I've ever seen!

Oh thank you!

- [Dad] Come on, hurry

up, you'll miss the train!

- [Angelina] Oh.

- Angelina, you

haven't packed a thing.

(Angelina gasps)

(cheerful, carefree music)

- [Dad] (laughing) She'll be

spotted a mile off with that.

(car rattling)

- [Miss Lily] She

looks wonderful.

- (grunts) There you go.

Oh, that's it, all safe.

- Oh thank you. (sighs)

(engine rattling)

Oh gloves, oh, I have

forgotten my gloves.

Oh, oh. (gasps)

I have them, I have

them, oh, (sighs) there.

Off we go.

(engine rattling)

When Sarafina and I were

about the same age

as you and Alice,

we played tip-toe-tumbly

all through the day.

- Tip-toe-tumbly?

- Yes, we pirouetted up to

the very top of Stilton Hill

on our toes and we tumbled

all the way down in the grass.

(pair laughing)

Of course Stilton Hill isn't

really a hill, you know,

it's not at all high, but

is is very, very muddy.

(laughs) Oh, excuse me,

a cup of tea please.

- Oh let's see,

madam, just run out.

I've got coffee,

milk, lemonade--

- Then lemonade.

- [Waiter] Hot

chocolate (voice fades)

- Oh really.

- Did Queen Sarafina

really like to roll in mud?

- Darling, she was a champion,

even better than her

brother, Prince Caspar,

who always tumbled

before he tiptoed and,

ah, we'll have two glasses

of lemonade, please.

- Just run out of lemonade.

I've got coffee, hot chocolate--

- Then we shall have--

- Water--

- Two hot choc,

disgusting manners.

(train whistle shrieks)

Even when it was

pouring with rain we,

ah, uh excuse me,

if you don't mind,

we would like two

hot chocolates.

- (mutters) Two hot chocolates?

- Yes please.

- Huh, well why didn't

you say so then?

(cart rattles)

(mice express surprise)

(playful music)

- Trains should not

break down, darling,

and how do they expect

us to wait six hours

for a new train, huh?

We have an appointment

at the palace!

- But do you know

the way, Miss Lily?

- Darling, one field

is like any field,

they each have a gate

that leads to a road.

This way.

- Um, (labored breathing) I

can't see any gate, Miss Lily.

- Keep going, keep going.

Just think of the legs, darling,

the walk will be doing

them so much good.

(quiet, dramatic music)

(Miss Lily grunting)

Oh, oh, what did I

tell you, a gate!

- Oh.

Um, you don't think we could

be lost, do you, Miss Lily?

- Lost?

Darling, of course

we are not lost.

Keep going, keep going.

(Miss Lily screams)

- Oh!

(water sloshes)

- Help, we are lost!

We are lost.

(tug boat whistle sounds)

- Hello my loves, need a hand?

Oh, ah fancy me,

two royal guests on board me

little Periwinkle. (laughs)

What a treat. (laughs)

- Mr. Scampi, darling--

- Ah, it's not often

you bump into people

such as yourselves.

I am telling you--

- Scampi, darling--

- Famous then, are

you, Miss Loly?

- [Together] Mr. Scampi--

- You're going too--

- Eh, oh, (laughs) the palace

is just over the river,

and then it'll be (muttering)

- [Miss Lily] Mr.

Scampi, please!

- Careful.

- Mr. Scampi.

(Mr. Scampi chattering)

Watch out!

(Mr. Scampi yelling)

- (gasps) Oh.

- Oh dear. (grunts)

You might've warned me.

(laughs) You won't be finding

any taxi around here, Miss Loly.

- What?

- But,

but how will we

get to the palace?

- Well, tell you what,

me old mate, Zoomer,

owns a motorbike,

just around the corner there,

he'd be happy to lend it

to yourselves, I'm sure.

- Um, have you ever driven a

motorbike before, Miss Lily?

- There's nothing to

it, darling, easy.

- I think it's left

at the crossroads.

- Crossroads, what crossroads?

- Uh, the crossroads we

just crossed, Miss Lily.

Right at the Willow tree,

the tree, Miss Lily.

- What tree, darling?

- The tree we just

passed, Miss Lily.

Left at the gate.

The gate, Miss Lily!

- Of course, darling.

- Oh,

careful of the gate, Miss Lily.

Oh, oh!

(tires screeching)

Oh!

(bike rattles)

Oh um, oh, uh,

Miss Lily, where are you?

- [Miss Lily] In the hedge.

- What hedge?

- [Miss Lily] The

hedge by the gate.

- Oh,

wait. (grunts)

Hold on to your boa, I'll

pull you out. (grunting)

(Angelina grunting)

(Miss Lily grunting)

Oh, ouch!

(Miss Lily grunts)

Oh no!

- Don't worry, darling.

(muttering) I'm fine.

- [Angelina] Oh,

my dress. (crying)

- Oh Angelina, my darling.

- Oh, (crying) my beautiful,

beautiful dress.

- Please don't cry.

- (crying) I'm not

crying, Miss Lily.

It's just that--

- Sometimes my poopchick,

things just do not turn out

the way they were planned.

- Hello Miss Lily, need a lift?

- Oh!

- Oh.

- I couldn't believe my

eyes when I saw it was you.

It was the red

outfit that did it,

spotted it miles off.

- You are an angel, Doctor.

(sighs) An angel.

(gentle, cheerful music)

- We've made it.

I can't believe it.

(gentle, cheerful music)

- Oh thank you.

Thank you.

- Only you could make such a

magnificent entrance, Lily.

- Oh Sarafina, darling.

(gasps) It has been so long.

- Lily, aren't you a bit

old to play tip-toe-tumbly?

- Oh Sarafina, what

a journey we've had,

but thanks to the

wonderful Dr. Tuttle,

we have finally arrived.

- (chuckling) A privilege

to meet you, ma'am.

- And this is my beautiful

little star, Angelina.

- Oh, how do you

do, Your Majesty?

Hello, Princess Valentine.

- Gosh, have you been

playing tip-toe-tumbly too?

- (gasps) Oh, how can

I dance like this?

- Don't worry, Angelina,

quick, come with me.

- Dr. Tuttle, I insist

you stay for the banquet.

- (chuckles) Ma'am.

- And you, my muddy

friend, must come with me.

(Tuttle chuckles)

(audience applauding)

(gentle music)

- (gasps) Magnificent.

You're right, my dear,

Angelina is a real star,

just like you,

Lily, just like you.

- Oh. (applauding)

(audience applauding)

(cheering)

- It was the best time ever

in the whole of my life

and Princess Valentine and

I were up all night talking.

- You see, my darling,

things don't always

turn out as planned.

- Oh you're right, sometimes

they turn out even better.

- Who's for a drink?

Um, I've got uh,

lemonade or orange juice.

- [Angelina] Anything would be

fine, wouldn't it, Miss Loly?

(pair laughing)

(cheerful, carefree music)

I loved dancing

for Queen Sarafina.

Performing in front of

an audience can be scary,

but it's the best thing

ever when it goes well.

It's hard work though, 'cause

you have to look the part

as well as learning your steps.

I wonder what role Kaitlin

is performing today.

She looks like one of my dolls

with those big red cheeks

and false eyelashes.

(slow, gentle music)

Miss Lily says warming

up is really important

'cause otherwise you can hurt

yourself by pulling a muscle.

Kaitlin's doing gentle

stretching exercises

before she starts to dance.

Sometimes the stage

is a different size

to the space you've

been practicing in.

So Kaitlin's checking

she's in the right place

when she does her routine.

That's a pretty costume.

It reminds me of something.

Now Kaitlin's having

some quiet time

so she can think about

what she's got to do

and the character

she's pretending to be.

(gasps) I think the

performance is about to begin!

(slow piano music)

Oh, I see.

Kaitlin's being Swanilda

from the ballet "Coppelia"

and she's pretending

she's the doll.

(cheerful, playful music)

That was a lovely

performance Kaitlin.

Thank you very much.

(cheerful, carefree music)
